Export of views

Hi all,
I know there is the possibility to export and import vews. I can see "Import Custom Views and Presentations" option on the projects phane of the Process Administrator. The problem is that I can't find a way to export them. I need to export and re-import views from an environment to another and I wouldn't like to repeat the whole creation process. I'm pretty sure that there is a way, but I feel blind... I can see it :/
I hope someone can help me,
thanks
Luca

Dolfino,
For absolutely no reason that makes sense, the export/import functionality of views is not available in Workspace Admin, but in Process Administrator (/webconsole). Go to Organization link, and you'll find the necessary options.
As for what's the best practice? Bundle the views with the project? Or maintain them separately? My personal feeling is keeping as much non-process UI garbage out of the project as possible. Views and presentations are a great example of something that I find totally irrelevant in the context of bundling a business process. While that argument is entirely theoretical and a matter of obsessive organization on my part, there's also practical reasons for not doing that as well:
1. You can't create views that span across processes from different projects if you use Studio (without a lot of trouble). For that, you HAVE to go to Workspace Admin.
2. When deploying projects, the embedded views/presentations overwrite what's currently in the directory, which might include modifications you've made from Workspace Admin.
3. You open up a can of worms when multiple projects use a presentation and name it the same way. Then the latest delpoy wins. Yuck!
Thanks

    Hi All,
Is there a way I can  export or view the chat transcript between operators on the Cisco agent console?

    Hi
Unfortunately not - they don' t make it in to the DB or any other central repository.
It would be possible to write a Windows or Powershell script to collect the files and place them on a central file share and then do with them as you wish, but this would be up to you to design and implement.

  • The document "view.do.pdf" could not be exported as "view.do.pdf".

Just recently I have been getting the following message when trying to safe a document as a pdf "The document “view.do.pdf” could not be exported as “view.do.pdf”.  I updated all of my software and cannot figure out why I cannot save a document from the web as a pdf.

Can you right click or control+click on it & use Save As... ?

  • How to export a view

    Hi,
I am working in 10g and i want to take the export of ony one view just like one table. Is it possible.
    thank in advance.

Do you want to export the view definition or the data that would be selected from the view?
For the view definition, don't use dbms_metadata as it can choke if there are not spaces between commas and columns (among other things). If you go to www.optimaldba.com you can download a zip file containing (among other things) several calls to cleanly extract view definitions. (the file location is http://www.optimaldba.com/papers/RMOUG.zip)
If you are wanting to export the data and the view is simple, you might try using the QUERY clause for export

  • I have set hyperlinks within my ibook author document, they work perfectly until i export and view on the ipad, when only one or none work, (hyperlinks to website not working at all) what am i doing wrong?

I have set hyperlinks within my ibook author document, they work perfectly until i export and view on the ipad, when only one or none work, (hyperlinks to website not working at all) what am i doing wrong?

An external hyperlink should handoff to Safari and leave iBooks.
If that's not happening, perhaps there is something misconfigured on your iPad? Have you manually confirmed those links work in Safari on your iPad?

    Hi,
We followed the below steps in the local machine and check the behavior.
    a. Open the Windows registry editor (regedit.exe)
    b. Go the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe
    c. Here, you’ll see a string value named “useURL”
    d. Rename this value to something else.  For example “useURLx”
Note: You might have to restart the machine to apply the registry change to take effect.

  • Export only views.

    Hi,
How can I export only views owned by a particular schema form one environment to other into same schema name or different schema name.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I don't think you can do it in exp/imp, but if you are on 10gR1 or later, you can use datapump expdp/impdp. It is very simple.
    expdp system/manager schemas=my_schema directory=my_directory dumpfile=views.dmp include=view
    Then
    impdp system/manager schemas=my_schema directory=my_directory dumpfile=views.dmp
This will export all views and then import the complete dumpfile. Since there are only views in there, that is all you will get.
If you want to export everything and only import views, you can do it this way.
    expdp system/manager schemas=my_schema directory=my_directory dumpfile=views.dmp
    Then
    impdp system/manager schemas=my_schema directory=my_directory dumpfile=views.dmp include=view

  • Exporting a view to a flat file

    Hi all,
    Running Oracle 9i on Windows.
We have a stored procedure which runs a number of packages and populates a view called v$logmnr_contents.
We woudl like to export the contents of the view to a flat file so that it can be transferred over to another
    server.
What options do we have for this? I've been reading about an Oracle package called utl_file, is this the
only option? I'm looking for whichever method is the most straightforward to implement.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Dave,
to dump data you can also use the SPOOL command in SQL*PLUS. The difference is that SQL*PLUS write to the client file system while utl_file writes to the server.

  • Export Layout view

    Hi
I know its a wrong place to Post this question but i could not get the answer from Incopy forum
How to print the layout view of a document. When it try to print or export a doument to PDF the story view is exported or printed. How to change it to Layout view.
Does anyone have the InCopy reference Guide. I could not find it anywhere in the Adobe Site.
    Thanks

Maybe you're not entirely clear in your terminology.
Story view? Layout view? For an InDesgin user it makes sense if you mean the Story Editor with the first, and your regular page view window with the second. However, that does not compute with your problem, which is (if I understand it correctly) that you export or print the
    i first
one; i.e., the Story View. That can't be done in the ID I have.
Perhaps it's an option in InCopy, as that is all text oriented (as opposed to Plain-InDesign), and probably not meant to be used in the way you describe. I recall that InCopy is designed to edit texts, while the actual layout work has to be done in ID.

  • All of a sudden, files are brown in Lightroom, but not when exported or viewed in Bridge.

Look at the Histogram. The color layer on top is usually gray tones (not brown). The thumbnails are white dishes on white. As a yesterday, all the images displayed correctly. I opened LR4 today to this. I have not changed or updated my OS since.
I had to export some images for a client today. I already did touchups. When export them, they look perfect. I also viewed all the photos in Bridge - color is correct. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Corrupt Monitor Profile. If you calibrate, then recalibrate. If you don't calibrate (you should), change the monitor profile temporarily to sRGB, which will fix things until you get a proper calibration done.

  • Image in Lightroom doesn't match exported image viewed in Photoshop

After all my hard work in Lightroom, I export the image to a folder on my hard drive. When I open this exported image in Photoshop and view it alongside the Lightroom version of its "twin" in Lightroom, there is a significant difference. Why is this? I want to use these images in my books, but my time is wasted if I end up with anything other than what I created in Lightroom. Shouldn't these images match exactly?

Thanks Jao and Michael...the color management idea makes a lot of sense.
Adding to this idea, when I open the Pshop file I get a message about the doc having an embedded profile that doesn't match current RGB working space, and the usual 3 options: Use the embedded profile, Convert color to the working space, or discard embedded profile. No matter which option I choose, none of the opened docs match the Lightroom version.
The color balance is fine, but the colors aren't as vibrant. The Pshop photo is dull and lifeless compared to the Lightroom version. I used Clarity which added subtle brightness, and Vibrance to crank up the color in LR which added wonderful dimensionality and punch to the landscape scene, but the Pshop version has dulled these back down.

  • IMovie crashes every time I attempt to export or view projects full screen. Any solutions? Will upgrade to iLife '11 (iMovie 9.0) fix this?

The subject line of this post pretty much explains everything.
I use a MacBook White from 2009 which I upgraded to Snow Leopard earlier this year.  I use iMovie 8.0.6, have never upgraded to iLife '11 (iMovie 9.0).
I've never in these 3 years had a problem exporting videos to YouTube, I have 62 on there and just now have an issue. Every time I try to view a project full screen AND try to export a video iMovie crashes and shuts down fairly quickly (after about 20 seconds when attempting export).
Today I went to the Apple store about this, didn't get much resolution on it. They couldn't determine what was wrong. The attempted fix they were going to suggest I had already done (deleting the plist and restarting iMovie).  And that fix didn't help.  They checked my hard drive and it was fine.
Has anyone had this same problem? What did you do to fix it (if anything)?
One solution, which is what I'll probably do, is to buy and upgrade to iLife '11 (iMovie 9.0)... but without backing things up as I don't have an external hard drive and can't afford to buy one anytime soon (am unemployed).  Where my videos are on YouTube may serve as my "backup" and "hard drive" (you can take videos form online, put them on your computer and into iMovie).
What do you suggest for fixing this? Is there another way to do it without upgrading to iMovie 9.0?  What are your expriences with this issue?

Turns out I'm going to have to BUY iLife '11 (from Best Buy) because the download version on Apple's site is for those with Lion only and I have Snow Leopard. This is becoming a major PAIN. Apple shoudl continue to offer its older products online at least (if not in their stores) rather than just dropping them completely.

  • Export reports views doesn't work

export the report view's in a file doesn't work. The file is created but still empty. Workaround is to get the sql and execute it in worksheet edit and cut and past the result in a excel sheet. It woul be better if the export works fine.

This is working fine for me.
What version of SQL Developer are you using?
    What OS are you on?
    What report did you run?
What type of output did you select?

  • EPub: when exporting or viewing document to ePub it crashes

Have deleted preferences and cashes. Problem still there.
Have saved document in IDML and then to INDD. Problem still exists.
In the document I have built a 2 layer button with a mouse over and click funktion.
It was fine viewing the ePub (inside InDesign) for a couple of times until it crashed, since then it always crashes.
I cannot even export it as ePub anymore.

    Hi finliret,
Can you please detail out the steps because of which you think this crash is happening.
Or great would be if you can share your files with me so that i can further investigate on the reason.

  • Export portrait view of landscape iBooks Author file?

I'm working with a template in iBooks Author that is landscape layout. I enabled the portrait view (in Inspector > Document). When I preview my book on iPad it flips to portrait orientation -- changes to pure scrolling, images moved to sides of text, etc. -- exactly as it should.
I want to know if I can export this portrait view (which I can only see on the iPad) as a PDF, or if I'm limited to exporting the landscape view (which is how I work with the file / how my template is set up in iBooks Author).
I'm pretty sure the answer is the latter, but want to be 100% sure -- matters a lot for the project I'm working on. Haven't been able to find a definitive answer here.
    Thanks!

iBooks Author has two (2)  options which can be combined or separated.
You can  choose to disable portrait mode and create your book in landscape only. If you export that to PDF.. it will either show in landscape or you can change in Acrobat or whatever PDF viewer you  use.
IF you  want to stay with a Portrait layout... then as previously advised,  select a Portrait book template and  edit your content to suite.
IF you want to have  both options - then you have to create your content to suit the mode you wish to see it viewed.   The top menu allows you to choose which orientation mode is viewed.
It take a little  experience or patience to create a book using both modes and to be  honest , I suggest that most "readers" of such  books get confused and / or  bored  by having to change the iPad around to view.
