Export or Save Pages document as a HTML

I have created a document in pages and want to email it as an HTML rather than PDF. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks.

Welcome to Apple Discussions
Pages 3 does not have an option for exporting in HTML. The previous versions did but the results were terrible.
You might try copying & pasting into a TextEdit document & saving it as a web archive. Open the archive in Safari & then choose "Mail Contents of This Page" from the File menu.

  • How to save Pages document as a rtf?

How to save Pages document as a rtf? There is no option in the export pull down menu on Pages version 5.1. This is possing to be a big problem as an online couse wants documents saved in this format.

Pages 5.1 is a buggy, crippled disaster. The lack of RTF support comes under the "crippled" rubric.  It lacks about 100 features present in Pages 09. Beware of the buggy stuff, too: there are many reports of data corruption, of users being unable to open files, etc.  Adivse you use Pages 09, or Word.

  • I just had my old operating system reinstalled, and i can't save pages documents, don't know how to install word

i just had my old operating system reinstalled after a breakdown, and now i can't save pages documents. i don't know how to install word.

    What was your old system?
    What is your new System?
    What version of Pages?
    How did you install it?
I don't know if you can see what's on my screen, but I definitely can't see what's on yours.
To Install Word, buy it and follow the instructions.

  • Exporting sounds in Pages document to PC users

Is it possible to export a Pages document with sound clips embedded, to a PC user?
I tried exporting as a PDF but even when I opened this on my iMac with Preview or Adobe Reader, the sound clip icon was missing.
I exported as a Word document (which created the .doc file and a folder with the media files in it) and when I moved these to a PC and tried opening the .doc in Word general formatting was intact and there was an icon for the sound clip, but I couldn't seem to click or double click and get the sounds to play.
I tried exporting as an HTML and while the sounds would play, the general formatting was lost.
Any hope of doing this? (My intention would be to email someone with a PC with the document (and perhaps media files) attached.

    Thanks for the reply, Magnus.
I guess I have to accept this, but one thing that puzzles me about your reply:
"In theory both Word and PDF should take embedded sounds, but Apple has not implemented the feature"
This implies it is the Apple software that is the weak link. Yet in a Pages document I can clearly have the imbedded audio. So is it in their implementation of their export features where the audio is stripped out or is it the inability of the 3rd party products I tried (Adobe Reader and Word) to handle what might really be imbedded?

  • Save page document as word document help!

How do I save a page document as a word document when I don't have a 'save as' option in my File menu? All I have is 'save a version'  I tried the shortcut which I believe is shift, command, S but it still didn't work. Please help!

This is not a "save as" operation.
    This is an "Export" operation.
Simply go to FILE > EXPORT and select Word as the export format.

  • Can I export a multiple page document as separate PDFs in one output?

I am using InDesign CS5 (7.0.3) on Mac.
I have been given a list of 500 unique codes (from Excel) to overprint an existing label.
I've placed the text (codes) in the position/size and colour in a 500 page InDesign Document.
Now, my question is... Is there any way I can export the 500 pages as individual PDFs
without haveing to... export as page 1, export page 2, export page 3 etc? (x500 times!)
I don't really want to risk saving it all manually, because I will have to go back and double check everythig to the original source file.

Have a look here, it should do what you want.  For instructions on installing and using scripts look here.

  • Can't Save Pages Document - says it is locked

I have been using Pages for a couple of years with no major issues. Then recently (I am guessing as a result of upgrading my operating system), every time I work on a document, it won't autosave. A message comes up saying that the document cannot be saved, that I don't have permission. Then when I try click and manually save, it says that I don't have permission, that the document has been locked.  When I go to the file and get info, it doesn't show as locked. As a result I keep having to duplicate the file any time I am editing it or else it won't save. I have done every update I can find and am using OS X version 10.9.2.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • Is there a way to save Pages documents so they can be opened with MS Word?

    Hi,
I have been a PC user my whole life, but just recently purchased a Mac. I bought an iMac and absolutely love it! I'm still trying to figure everything out though. I just purchased iWork 09, but it hasn't arrived yet, so I'm using the trial version right now. I'm currently unemployed so I spend a lot of my time looking for jobs on the internet, and sending out resumes. Every place that accepts online resumes wants them to be in MS Word format. After I bought iWork 09 I was wondering if I had made a mistake and should have bought MS Office for Mac instead? Is there a way to save it as a Word document or format it as something that Word accepts? Also, can you do the same for Numbers-Excel, and Keynote-Powerpoint? Any information you can give me would be a big help.
    Thanks

    Hi Tom
In iWork '09 you may use
File > Save as > Save a copy as > Word document

  • When I save pages documents from my iPad I cannot open in on my macbook.

I updated to Mavericks OX, as well as the latest pages. It says I need a new version of pages, but I have the latest: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document."
I took it to the apple store and thay sait it was a glitch that they will likely have resolved. How loing will I have this issue? Is there a fix?

Telling us you have the "latest" tells us nothing, because we don't know what you think that means.
In case you do in fact have Pages 5.01, the problem is that you probably also have an older version in your Applications/iWork folder and are opening your iPad document with the older Pages not the newer.
You will find the newer version in your Applications folder.
Apple helps this along nicely by giving two entirely different file formats the same file extension ".pages"

  • Location to save Pages documents

Can I choose not to have iCloud come up as the default location for saving my document?

    Alex,
It seems that if you have chosen to sync Documents and Data, iCloud will be the default file location.

  • If I use pages and numbers on a Mac can I save the documents as an extension that I can use on a PC?

If I use pages and numbers on a Mac mini can I then save the documents as  extensions that can be opened on a PC?

You can save Pages documents as Word documents and save a Numbers document as an Excel file. In Lion you can go to File>Export and then save as Word or Excel.
I assume that there is a way to do it in SL or Leopard as well.

  • How to save a Pages document as a Word file

I downloaded the new version of Pages hoping for better Word compatibility. To be honest I can't see any difference in the compatibility.
Apple says on their page for Pages 5.0 that you can save Pages documents as Word files. "You can save Pages documents as Word files. Or import and edit Word documents right in Pages." Since they say "save" and not "export", I figured I could treat it like I would in Word. Do I still have to export the document or can I now just save it as a Word file without ending with duplicates?

    You have to Export.

  • How to embed B, and C size engineering drawings into Pages documents

I am attempting to create a technical manual which includes both 8.5x11 pages (portrait orientation) and larger B and C sized PDF drawings (landscape orientation). My current process is exporting a finished Pages document to a PDF, and then manually dragging in the other drawing PDFs to create the final version. However, as both drawings and text regularly change, there is a great deal of effort to manually assemble a final doc. Plus, the TOC and other auto-updating fields in the Pages document change as new text is added, so page numbering the final PDF is a nightmare - it is presently done in Acrobat Pro.
Any suggestions on how to make the complete manual do the following:
    1) remain in an easily editable Pages format conducive to regular updates?
    2) allow for automatic updating of pages, fields, TOC, etc. as new text and/or drawings are added?
    3) keep PDF drawings in vector format so they can be zoomed on-screen without becoming pixelated?
    Thanks,
    -Jon

In the past, Apple has system level support for portrait and landscape in one pagination. This system level support was in the graphics model, and was implemented e.g. in WordPerfect for Mac.
Presently, the situation is as you describe, first, the main pagination is output to PDF and, second, supplementary pages are inserted manually into the main pagination.
Off the cuff, I do not know if similar system level support is available in Mac OS X which is based on a somewhat different graphics model.
As I understand it, what you want is possible at application level in Microsoft Word, although I don't have experience with that application.
I would not know how to do what you want in QuarkXPress or InDesign in the versions I have. These applications using internal graphics implementations and bypass system level services on Mac OS X and Windows.
