Export original size not original size

The native RAW resolution of my camera is 6016x4016. When I try to export jpegs as original size, they come out 1798x1200. If I export as TIFF, they come out full size (but 20x as large a file as jpeg.) If I export at 50%, they come out 50%. This is only happening on my iMac, not my MacBook Pro. How do I get aperture to let me export a full size jpeg again?

Open the Image Export Preset and make sure that the settings for the Image Export Preset that you are using match the description.
If that's not it, post back.

  • Bug in Acrobat Reader 8 & 9? "Actual size" not actual size

When I choose to view a PDF in "actual size" using Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 or 9, it is NOT actual size.  Under Acrobat Reader 7, it WAS actual size.
For example, if I go to the properties of the document and find out that it is supposed to be an 8.5 x 11 document, the document on screen is not 8.5 x 11.
This used to work under Acrobat 7, but doesn't work under Acrobat 8 or 9.  It used to be that you could hold an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper up to your monitor and the size of the image on screen was exactly 8.5 x 11, but now if I do the same thing, the size on the monitor does not match the actual size of the paper.
Is this a bug or something else?

The screen size is 17" and the current resolution is 1024 x 1280 (it is in "portrait" mode), but it happens at every resolution I've tested.

  • Help, mostly with rendering size, not file size, actual size

I made a short 4 second movie in after effects cs5, there are really no fancy effects, just a car with wheels turning driving across the screen, the size is super small at 167px width x 315px height. It's 30 fps.  It's from a set of three, I have no major issues with the other two but for some reason, when I render this one, it comes out super blurry/pixelated and the size is twice of what it should be, it's not too size of how I built it, and I can't resize it.  I think it looks so bad because it isn't coming out the right size, but I can not for the life of me figure out why. This is for my job, and I have to show it to the higher ups so I need it to look as crisp as possible. Any ideas what would make this happen? I've rendered so many different times, i brought it into Adobe media encoder, I feel like I am just missing some little switch, but can't find it. I render quicktime as an animation, it's so small, it doesn't matter if I do animation.  I've tried at the default settings of best and lossless, I've changed things, I am not sure what else I should do, anybody have any insight? I can provide more info if needed, thanks so much in advanced!

167x315 is your comp size for all three comps and you know this absolutely.
Your render settings are exactly the same for each of the three comps and you know this absolutely.
You shoudl be able to examine the properties of the output movies by either brining them back into AE or using the inspector in QT. Each will show a movie size and a display size. A tiny movie, like 167x315, will look awful if played at normal viewing size of 640x480 because it will be scaled up by twice, each pixel will be four times its native size. That can happen when a flag gets set in QT to display a movie at full screen size which is different from the falge that sets it to display full size.
    Double check everything.
You shoudl be able to render out comp 1, which is good, and then dleete everything in comp 1 and fill it up with stuff copied and pasted out of comp 3. Then you use the exact same render settings again.

  • Maximum Artboard Size (Not Canvas Size)

    Hi,
I read that maximum canvas size is 227in but Illustrator CC on both mac and windows and several different computer does not allow me to exceed 120in x 120 in. I can change my artboard size manually (shift+o) and drag the corners to 227inches but the number on the right upper corner is stuck on 120 inches. So what is the maximum size that I can work in Illustrator? If it is 227in why can't I make an Artboard bigger than 120 inches? And to avoid more confusion what is the canvas and what is the art board?
    Thank you

    mus,
When things become seriously weird, as in your case, it may be worth trying the list (you have been through 1) and 2) already, and I would suggest your skipping 3) and 5), which leaves 4) and 6).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/preference-file-location-illustrator.html
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Original iphone not original deactivated sim card

my friend gave me his original iphone without sim card so my daughter could use it as an ipod. he gave me an old att sim card as well that is not active.
iphone shows "slide for emergency" on the bottom of the screen and it shows the usb port in the back pointing to the itunes. every time i try to connect to the itunes the activation screen will show and wants me to activate the iphone. the old phone number associated with the sim card will show up and it asks me for area code and last 4 numbers of the social security. if i hit cancel it says activation cancelled and under neat it says "now it's safe to disconnect your iphone". while still connected i was able to drag songs to the iphone and it load the songs. also, there is a lock where the clock should show. I don't know what to do.
    please help!

According to Apples website the iphone is not available at all in Pakistan. If this is the case then there are NO authorized sellers in Pakistan at all.
Fake iphones come in new packaging as well.

  • Router original or not original

    Hi everybody
Someone Please tell me where i can check my hardware serial number or something else to understand if it valid or not.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
In old routers like the 2600 series the sh version command shows the processor ID. To see the serial number you need physical access to the device.
In the new generation ISR routers you have the command show inventory which will display the serial number of the router and all the modules.

  • Lightroom 4 Export sizes not accurate? Print Space website london

    Hi Guys,
I'm currently exporting my images from lightroom 4 to get them printed at the print space in London
i exported 3 files at A4 size in mm, i then uploaded them onto the print spaces website and all 3 images are very slightly off in dimensions
i took all 3 pics with the same camera, same lens, and they are not cropped at all, all exported at 300 DPI, all exported into Jpeg, all export dims bang on
i also exported another image which was 16"w x 22"h, again i uploaded to the website and same thing it stated the original file size was 16,9" x 23.2"
i sent the guys a message but they only use photoshop, so not that clued up with lightroom, has anyone else experienced this problem
when exporting an exact size and yet it comes out slightly different?
could it be that lightroom 4's measurements are out? i find that unlikely as everyone would complain!
i'm struggling for ideas on what else to try to solve this issue
One thing the guy mentioned at the print space was that you can switch to custom sizes and enter what ever size you require the print to be
but when you amend the width, it automatically changes the height... and vice versa, so you cant pick both custom H and W at the same time.
who would have thought that printing in A4 would be so difficult !!! :-)
Thanks for your time hopefully someone might be able to shed some light on this.
    Cheers
    Chris

    We'll need some details
For one such photo, we need the exact pixel dimensions of the photograph (you said you didn't crop, so I want the pixel dimensions of the uncropped photo)
We'll also need to know your exact settings in the Image Sizing dialog box (screen capture is best, but you can type these in if you need to)
And since I'm an American and not familiar with A4, exactly what are the dimensions of an A4 piece of paper?

  • Export With Same Pixel Size Not Possible?

I'm exporting two photos from Aperture to another program for the purpose of creating one panoramic picture.
However, the other program (PFactory) only allows the stitching of photos with the exact same pixels and no matter how I try to export both photos with same pixels using Fit Within Pixels with Aperture they never come out the other end the eact same size.
    One photo has 5195 x 3454 and the other has 5195 x 3459.
    Anyone know why?
    Thanks.

How are you trying to do this now?  When you export using a "fit within" it's going to scale the image proportionately.  It's not going to crop.  The problem you're having is that the ratio of height to width of these two images doesn't match so "scaling" wont work... if it trims the height by a few pixels it's going to trim the width by a few pixels to maintain the aspect ratio.
You'll have to crop the larger image by 5 pixels.  But this is what I had assumed you (or someone) had already done to the 2nd image.  I've never seen a digital camera that puts out images in random sizes (were the images actually taken with the same camera on the same settings??)
Select the larger image, pick the 'adjustments' tab, click the 'crop' icon along the bottom left corner of the image frame.  In the crop-window that opens, set the "Aspect Ratio" to "Custom" and then type in the dimensions that you want.  It'll put a box on the screen to show the area it intends to keep but you can use your mouse to slide that box around.  When you leave the crop mode (e.g. pick the "selection tool" icon (left-most icon in the lower left corner of the image -- or really any other mode) the image will be updated to reflect the crop (keep in mind Aperture doesn't really crop the master... it's just displaying it that way.)
Now when you export to TIFF or JPEG, etc. as "original size" the image sizes will match.

  • I customize my paper size and print size and am then viewing a photo on my screen. I print it out and it chops off about 5% of all edges of my original photo on the screen. Why does it do that? It is driving me crazy. I use an Epson Photo 2200 printer.

What print and paper sizes are you using?  Are you trying to print a borderless print?  Does your printer support borderless for that particular size?  Are you printing to the custom stock size or to a larger stock size?

  • Movie export size not available/balance between size and quality

    Hi,
I imported some film into iMovie 08 from my Canon HD camcorder, at full 1920 x 1080 size. After I finished editing it, I wanted to export the final movie at 960 x 540. This size is not available under the "standard" share options ("large" is 1280 x 720 and "medium" is I can't remember what exact size but smaller than 960 x 540). Similarly, when I go into "Export using QuickTime" and try to create an H.264 movie there, the 960 x 540 option simply isn't available. What gives?
The reason I wanted to use this size was to try to cut down on file size. I exported the movie at 1280 x 720 and got a 380Mb file. So I wanted to try it at 960 x 540 and see what difference that made to the file size and quality. Since I couldn't seem to do it using iMovie, I ended up taking the 1280 x 720 video and using ffmpegx to convert it to 960 x 540. The problem is that I ended up with a file that was, bizarrely, even bigger (384Mb), and that had a thin green line across the bottom of the video.
So, in summary, my three questions are:
    1. Why can't I export from iMovie in 960 x 540?
    2. Why does my ffmpegx conversion result in an even bigger file?
    3. What's the best way for me to get the optimum balance between file size and quality? (For viewing on Apple TV/HD television).
    Thanks in advance,
    Rob

Another very good 3rd party slideshow application is PhotoPresenter. It has some of the nicest themes I've seen in any slideshow application (including the Apple TV introduction theme) and will export to a variety of sizes up to 720 x 480 which is DV-DVDCPRO - NTSC.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • CS3: Exporting to .mov not rendering the correct size??

I'm using Flash CS3 and trying to export a Flash movie I made
as a .mov file. The file size is 1020x574. I export with the
"Render width" set to 1020, the "Render height" set to 574, and
"Maintain aspect ratio" is set (this is the same size as my stage,
fyi). However, every time I export it the resulting movie is some
completely different, distorted size, like 800x150 or something.
It's the same size every time.
    Any ideas what's wrong here?

Okay, I found part of my problem: the "render width/height"
has nothing to do with the output size. I clicked on the Settings
option, and saw that the Size was set to that strange size. I
clicked on Size to change it, and saw it was set to "Current" -- at
this point I realized that I had changed my stage size. The size
was incorrectly reporting the "current" size as the old stage size.
So I switched to a different setting, then back. However, that
didn't fix it. Switching to a different compression type did for
the "current" size to update, though.
However, I have another problem: my exported .mov file plays
very slowly and choppy. My timeline framerate is 30, and so is the
export setting. However, it plays very choppy when the .mov file is
    played back.
    Any ideas there?

  • Video editing/exporting in Photoshop CS6 - original quality gone in YouTube. Idea?

Hello, i've searched this forum and other sources already, but couldn't find a solution. Unfortunately, i am not a video pro.
I record video tutorials about Photoshop (so, screen captures) and edit/combine the clips inside Photoshop CS6 in Win 7/64; Photoshop's new video talent is nice. I record 852x480px at 15 fps with FastStone Capture  and save in WMV.
I want to show the finished video tutorial on Youtube. There are several things baffling me when editing video in Photoshop CS6.
My original records  (according to MediaInfo):
    Software: FastStone Capture
Overall bit rate mode                    : Variable
Overall bit rate                         : 113 Kbps
Maximum Overall bit rate                 : 124 Kbps

    Frame rate                               : 15.000 fps
    Bit depth                                : 8 bits
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame)                       : 0.009
    Stream size                              : 212 KiB (50%)

If i upload this *original* WMV clip *without any editing* to YouTube, it looks very nice on YouTube (if you manually set the YouTube player quality to 480p). YouTube upscales the low-res clip nicely even on big screens. (I use the low screen resolution of 852x480 so that tool icons and letters in menus don't appear to small. I would love to stay with that resolution.)
But i want to combine several screen capture takes in Photoshop CS6. Inside Photoshop CS6 Extended, i get the Adobe Media Encoder (AME) and have only two format options: H.264 (MP4) and DPX (DPX only offerening resolutions between 1080 and 2048 px wide). There is no AVI or WMV or anything else offered.
So from Photoshop CS6 i export to MP4 with these specs:
    MP4
Preset: High Quality (nothing "better" is offered)
    Size: as original (852x480)
    Framerate: as original (15 fps)
    Interlacing: progressive (recommended by YouTube)
The result looks very nice when i play it locally in VLC. It looks like the original WMV.
But: When i upload the Photoshop-version to YouTube, the video looks very badly "upsampled" and blurred. It looks much worse than the uploaded WMV original.
If you like, you can compare the two videos from the same source online:
Uploaded WMV clip, looking good (set player to 480 p):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjmKohV_jmU
Rendered in Photoshop CS6, looking bad (set player to 480 p):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA0Veq9IZac
I do like the resolution of 852x480 and would like to keep it. If not possible, i have to record tutorials in 1280x720, even though icons and menus look too small. So far i have not tested it.
I searched my folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclinkmediaserver\1.0. There is a lot in it which i don't understand, but some file names include "MPEG", "AVI", "Adobe QT Server" etc. I think there is no Quicktime installed on my machine; i try to avoid it as it does many different things to the system and is obnoxious.
    My questions:
    - When aiming for a YouTube cast, could i stay with 852x480 (at 15 fps), or doesn't it make sense? (I like that size.) If 852x480 is not ok, what is the lowest resolution for getting good looking presentations on Youtube?
    - Why does the Adobe Media Encoder in my Photoshop CS6 only offer the formats H.264 and DPX? Can i get more? (Free, pay.) Would it help?
    - Do i need to install Quicktime? How could i do this with less intrusive QT behaviour?
    - Should i record more fps in FastStone Capture? (I don't find more fps necessary when looking at the original and when looking at the uploaded *original*.)
    - What to do?
    Thanks for all suggestions!

My Canon EOS Camera can also capture 1080p Video it writes it to the memory Card as Name.MOV.  I don't do video the file are huge. But you
made me want to see what CS6 video support could do to reduce the file size.
So I took one of my captured .mov files and droped it onto Photoshop the .mov file was 264,678,777 byte in size.  I saw the Photoshop could render H264 .mp4 video anf that there were some presets for YouTube at 29.97 the rate my camera does for 1080p, 720p and SD 360p I also tried createin a 854x480 16:9 video 480P
These are the size file produced 480 make no sence it so close to 720 file size.

  • What's the best settings to Export movie for smaller file sizes?

Hi, I've been working on some helmet cam footage which was taken with Xvidmpeg4.avi and was advised to convert it to dvavi for editing in PrE, this created a huge file to work with, the original footage was 206mb and the finished edited dvavi file is now 1.56gb, what settings can I use to export the movie with a much smaller file size, but hopefully try to retain some quality, to upload to places like Vimeo? I thought I would try to export it in the same as the original footage Xvidmpeg4.avi thinking this might compress it again to something like the 206mb of the original and the original was good quality footage, but PrE just hangs up with a box stating 'Xvid Status (Not Responding)' and when I try to cancel that the whole thing crashes and closes? So when I go to File > Export > Movie, what would be the best settings in:
    General > File Type ?
    Video > Compressor
lots of options under compressor if I select the file type as Microsoft AVI, so I'm guessing something under that would compress it to a smaller file size but what, I could spend all night trying different settings so hoping for some advice?
Or, if I'm completely in the wrong place for the settings and should be doing something else please tell me?
    Thanks, Gav

Thanks for the replies, but to me it's still confusing - simply because there are so many settings, if I go to Share/Personal Computer I'm then presented with a whole load of settings
    NTSC Flash Video
    MPEG
    DVAVI
    Windows Media
    QuickTime
and under each of those is a lot more advanced settings?
I'm guessing I wouldn't use flash or quicktime, so which of the others would I use and what are the advanced settings to use as I can't find anything that is .wmv or .mov
What I've done with other videos that I've exported from PrE as dvavi is then to put it through Windows Movie Maker, Publish Movie, This Computer, then put the settings to Windows Media DVD Quality (PAL) (3.0 Mps) - this seemed to be the only setting that reduced the file size considerably but still had good quality, but it's still about twice the original file size?
This all seems long winded to me, open original file, convert original file, output another file, then output the file again in something else which then results in loss of quality and a larger file than the original? I'm ending up with lots of files, was hoping just to edit in Premiere then export/publish that edited clip and that would be it, then upload to the net.
Is it not possible to just edit my original footage and save it, just like you would with something like a word document, should I be using something else and not Premiere?
    Thanks.

  • New mac user - iphoto trouble - original doc not found

    hey all,
i just got my first macbook a few days ago. things are going pretty good except for an iphoto error.
when i try to import my library i get an error to the effect of "can not upload original doc not found"....it wants me to find the picture, which i can, and click it, which then will import it....this works but i would have to do this 2,000 times to import my whole library
i should note i do not want to copy the photos in iphoto....i just want it to point to my originals...
also i did succesfully upload them all once....but then i wiped them out....so this is my second time...it worked the first time....
    ???????

When you run a referenced library iPhoto will not copy the files, but rather simply reference them on your HD. It will create an alias to the Original file, a thumbnail and, if you modify the pics, a Modified version.
What's happened here is that the alias has lost contact with it's Linked File. Have you made any changes to the path the that file? Renamed or moved a folder?
Frankly, unless you are using wo different photo managers, I strongly recommend against running a referenced library - even more so for an inexperienced Mac user.
    1. Import and deleting pics are more complex procedures
    2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them
    3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
Always allowing for personal preference, I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organisers.
If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
If you're concerned about finding the files: There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
Your choice, obviously, but best to be aware of the pitfalls.

  • Converting PDF to JPEG--tiny file, not full size image.

    using photoshop cs3
End result is I want a jpeg of the same size as original. here is what i do and what happens.
open pdf in photoshop; save as "jpeg"
jpeg shrinks to an inch wide, from an original 8.5 inches.
I've tried saving with compression off, saving pdf in various formats, nothing seems to work and my jpegs always save out very tiny.
any help would be appreciated! thanks.

I opened the file I attached to my mail in Photoshop and that's when it went small. I just looked on Apple forum and found a little button on the bottom right that was compressing the file. I hit "actual size" and have fixed the problem.
It was a Mail problem, (or my problem:) not Photoshop or PDF.
Thanks for your time and response...
