Export Portal data to Excel

Question

hi!
I'm working with EP6. I need to get data from a portal IView (stored in a TableView, for example) in Excel format. Anybody can help me?

Hi Vara,
if you create a portal component by the help of the eclipse plugin, it's just an AbstractPortalComponent what's created.
But for an introduction see also within the portal:

Setting the content type works on the response object, within doOnNodeReady:
HttpServletResponse response = request.getServletResponse(true);
response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "filename="text.xls"");
If you are really unsure about how to overwrite a method, I really advise you to start with some Java basics before going on developing in the higher level spheres... (You can do it the simple&blind way: create the AbstractPortalComponent by the Eclipse plugin, right click on the source, choose "Override/Implement Methods" and choose doOnNodeReady, BUT I really really advise you not to go further the blind way doing something without having a more or less deep knowledge of <i>what</i> happens behinde the scene...)
