Export problem & audio garbled if using "Fade in" effect

Hi everyone, I'm using iMovie HD 6, and I'm not sure why this is happening. I have a 30-second clip that I added credits to over the first few seconds. I then go to export (Share>Quicktime) and it creates an mp4 file, but when I try to open it I get an error from Quicktime saying "movie cannot be opened."
Also, if I try to do the credits over the clip itself, the audio is garbled until the credits are gone. By the same token, if I do a fade-in on the clip (the clip is either an .mov or an .mp4 with audio married to it), the audio is garbled until the fade is over. Same thing on the fade out.
I have the latest quicktime, the latest OS, and the latest version of iMovie. If anyone can help me with a fix, that would be great.
Kerry

I'm experiencing the same kind of problem. I'm importing 30fps h264 mp4 files with 48khz audio. I've changed the audio rate to 48kz in the Audio and Midi application and I'm still getting the jitters on transitions. Extracting the audio is not an option in this case as it's ease of use I'm going for...

is there a quick fade in effect available?

    Hi,
I have read once again your post and watched the screenshot.
At the beginning I thought that you used "Fade In" effects in FCP, but I see that it was in LiveType.
So, as I understand, after rendering you imported this animated text to FCP - and you've got not good results (each letter appears briefly as black before becoming white as it's fully faded in.)
Don't change anything with this text in LiveType, don't remove shadow, its not needed. After importing it to FCP and placeing on Timeline, click the text and change in the Menu: "Modify / Alpha Type / Black" - render this fragment and watch. Now is OK?
(You can change this parameter also in a Viewer window - it will be changed for all uses you will need.)

  • CS4, Audio Export problem due to CFA files

    Hi,
I'm having a -really- annoying problem and would appreciate any help.
I have been unable to export a project through Premiere with Media Encoder (just keeps freezing, then restarting the export etc) so I've used Dynamic Link to import the Sequence into AE and export that way. I have done this numerous times for otherprojects without problem, and can even export other Sequences from the same Project with no issue.
However, when I try to import any Sequence that includes my intended project (a 54 minute film) I get the same error every time "Audio conforming failed for the following file: CTC3 NEW COMPLETE MOVIE 48000.cfa. Perhaps due to disk space."
I have plenty of free space and I can't locate this CFA file anywhere. This error prevents me from exporting any audio and the warning re-appears for every second that gets Rendered if I try to export. I exported a short clip and had to click away the error each time and the resulting video had no sound but did feature video.
I can't figure out why each Sequence that doesn't feature the clips I actually need can work fine, but any Sequence that -does- feature them will not import properly.
I'm supposed to have this film ready for a premiere tomorrow and have been trying since Tuesday night to find a way around this problem.
    Thanks,

  • MXF export with audio problems

    Hi!
At the brodcast station that I work we recently upgrade to premiere CC. Our workflow are almost XDCAM files (MXF) and whe an edition is finished we export to MXF to play out or copy to XDCAM disc.
Recently I have a multi camera project and everything works perfect but when I export to an MXF file the sound as a "blank frame" in sound. The concert as an hour and twenty minutes and at the fisrt second
theres is that little "cut" in sound that doesn't exist in timeline.
I tryed various ways to export and everytime I got this frame in the same place. I also export timelines with 2 minutes from other projects, more simple, and always I got a "blank frame" somewhere in audio.
Tryed to export with 2 channels, 8 channels, stereo timeline multichannel timeline and everything result in a MXF in this audio issue.
Anyone already detect this exporting to MXFs, any sugestion to resolve this problem?

Thank you norok65 for replying this post.
I searched for some post with my problem and I didn't find so I post this one. I'm "glad" that I'm not the only one having this Kind of problem.
Like you said the problem cames with some updates. We used Premiere CS5 and no problem with MXF. We tryed the CS6 to possible update and
at the begining no problem but after some updates this problem appears and we abandoned the CS6 and we tested the CC. No problem with CC
and we did the migration. So, CC export MXFs with no problem but after some updates the audio problems came up again.
I think the problem is the updates and Adobe must fix this.
Jim, I already did some tests and exported only audio to WAV and no problem. Other formats like quictime no problem too.
This kind of problem only appears with MXF.
Like I said our workflow are almost everything in MXF (XDCAM) and we wish this issue can be solved.

  • Problem exporting mixdown audio XML document from Soundtrack to Final Cut P

I am writing this up at the suggestion of FCP Tech Support.
I treated a multiclip audio track I had sent (along with the video) from FCP using the Compressor (Effects Tab>Dynamics>Compressor). I then sent the mixdown back to FCP automatically (following the instructions on page 209, Vol III, FCP User Manual.pdf). In FCP I got an error message: “ERROR: Critical Error aborted the processing an XML document…”
I noticed, however, that the sequence with the mixdown audio was listed in the Browser. Opening it in the Time Line, the mixdown audio was there along with the muted original audio tracks; however, the video track appeared with all of its cuts, but white and unrendered. So I copied the video from the original sequence and pasted it in the new sequence, in effect replacing the problematic video track. It played back fine. I saved and closed the project, quit FCP and shut down my computer.
When I reopened the project later on, I got a General Error 34 message. I called TS to find out what it means. After creating a new project and reopening it and another current project, neither of which displayed a General Error 34, the problem seemed to be unique to that particular project.
FYI that project was a multiclip one with 4 camera angles. The audio from one of the camera angles was used through out, except for one clip when the audio of another angle was temporarily used. The project was shot on Mini-DV using 2 Panasonic HVX-200’s and two consumer DV camcorders.

Thank you for anyone who read my question. I found the results on another posting. The posting was titled, "Export results in silent audio file."
    Thank you,
    Brian

First, I suggest you limit the subject line of your question to a few words which will help someone identify the problem you are encountering. Putting the entire question there looks as though you are shouting.
It would help anyone to identify your problem if you were to say what video codec (file format) you are using, and describe the method you are using in your attempts to export it.
You could also list any relevant error messages you encounter.
What version of FCP X are you using?
All these things will make it easier for people to help you.

  • CS4 Audio Export Problem

    Hi
I'm fairly new to CS4 and have picked up an audio export problem, more than likely with a setting of sorts. For some reason when I export to MPEG2 -DVD via the Media Encoder, the video portion is fine as well as any audio that has been placed and edited on tracks audio 1 and 2 in PP. However, if there is additional audio placed on tracks 3 or 4 for example (say a music MP3 overlay) then this does not come out ... only audio placed on tracks 1 and 2 in PP come out. I have checked the obvious like making sure the tracks aren't muted etc but to no avail. Also tried changing from PCM audio to MPEG ... Stereo to 5.1 mixdown ... nothing doing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards

Thanks Harm ... got SnagIt and with a few helpful YouTube tutorials ... am in business. Hunt and John, also thanks ... the other method equally as good. Now, I have attempted to attach my screen shot which should display my CS4 timeline and associated audio monitor windows above. By the way, this was for a wedding and as indicated, you will notice an MP3 lying in audio track 3 which as mentioned is my problem as it is not audible after render via Media Encoder. But remember, the moment I slip this MP3 up into audio track 1 or 2 above ... problem solved. I know there must be something small like a setting gone wrong or incorrect. As mentioned, any help would greatly appreciated.
    Thanks to you all.

  • I have an IPod touch 4 gen. And I'm having problems with the audio when I use other than Apple brand earphones

I have an Ipod Touch 4 gen. and I'm having problems with audio when I use other than Apple brand earphones. I'm talking about music only so far, when I use apple earphones all is fine, but if I use other type of phones ( sony for exemple ) I can only hear the music and the background but not the lead singer voice, can anybody explain this to me? thank you.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    - If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Multichannel audio exporting problem

Hi all, I have a clients need me export my movie audio files as the following 8 channel which I don't know how to do it in premiere cc.
As I try to export it as wav file. in the Basic audio setting, there are only 3 option available : mono, stereo & 5.1
unlike other user in this forum , they have 4-10++ channel option available, is there anything missing in my premiere cc?
how do I export this audio? thanks
    requirement:
    SONY XDCAM HD422 1080i50
file Container : .mov File Wrapper
    Audio Container
    CH.1 & 2 :24-bit, stereo (LR), 48000khz (1st Lang)
    CH.3 & 4 Dolby E Stream 5.1+2 (1st Lang)
    CH.5 & 6 :24-bit, stereo (LR), 48000khz (2nd Lang)
    CH.7 & 8 :Dolby E Stream 5.1+2 (2nd Lang)

Can I raise this subject again.
I have a video I want to output in Blu-Ray format. Steven's instructions say:
To export to a file format like H.264 for Blu-ray, you want to choose H.264 Blu-ray, use the preset for 1440X1080i 25 High Quality, and look at the Multipexer tab. There are multiple tabs, Filters, Video, Audio, Multiplexer and Others. On the Multipexer tab select Multiplxing - TS instead of None
    I have followed these instructions and tried MPEG2 Blu-Ray and H.264 Blu-Ray.
Video is set to PAL 1440x1080, 25 fps Upper
Audio format is PCM (I can only choose PCM or Dolby Digital and I don't have a DD license)
Multiplexer setting - If set to None then I get two files
If I change the Multiplexer to TS, I get an error message when it starts to process the project "Audio Codec selected is not compatible with this multiplexing mode. Please change the selection"
I don't see what I can change the audio codec to as there is only a choice of two options and I can't select Dolby Digital.
    Any suggestions?

  • CS4 Export Problem..Audio only...?

I'm having an issue exporting a sequence. I'm shooting with a Canon7D in 23.976fps and converting the .mov files with cineform (avi). I'm using AVCHD 24p preset (1920x1080 1.0 Square Pixels). I've imported a seperate sequence with the same settings into a second sequence in order to do the final, overall processing. My export settings are Microsoft AVI with a NTSC DV 24p preset. Normally it works fine, but currently, it only exports the audio track. I've even deleted all unused v/a tracks. I hope this is enough info! Any suggestions?

I can't think of anything besides the obvious.  (Video is checked for export.  Video tracks are turned on.)

  • Exporting merged audio tracks to audition problem

    Hello,
I recently started to work with the Adobe suit so i am not yet used to the workflow. We are serval people working on the post production of a short movie filmed with a red SCARLET in raw which means that the files are pretty big. The audio where captured in serval tracks who all have been merged with the video clips. The clips have thereafter been cut and placed in its right place. So now it is my job to work with the sound design. I have tryd to export the audio in both AAF and OMF and every time i open it up in Audition it sais that the media is offline. On my computer all i have is the orgininal Audio files. Is there anyway to get only the audio (all the tracks) to Audition, without having them searching for the merged files. For example creating new Audio from the cutted tracks?

    Have you tried this?

  • Excel export problem using craxddrt

    Hi,
I'm using craxddrt v.11.5 in our intranet application to export rpt.reports to different formats. My code works well with PDF and text exports, but when it comes to Excel after the .Export(false) method executes the browser window just goes into idle then the session finally expires. I never catch any error. I have tried several export options with no prevail.
I suspect the Excel export is missing some info to complete and it is trying to prompt me, but no visible prompt gets displayed/answered so it just expires.
Could anyone help me out. I've spent several days researching and fixing the code and ran out of ideas.
    Sincerely
    Steve Komaromi

  • Exporting to blu ray and using episode problem

I have a 60 min HDV time line of which I would like to export to Blu Ray ready for the future so I can then delete the master files and clear some space of the main hard drive.
I bought a program by flip 4 mac called Episode Pro which plugs in to compressor and you can use it to export files apparently quicker and better.
Episode has a drop down box with Blu Ray settings for Video and Audio which I choose. so far so good.
When I tell it to export and then bring up the batch monitor it tells me that it take 3 or 4 days and the first try took 3 days and then a message failed came up.
After that I had to reboot because it messed up FCP too
Am I doing something wrong in episode and if I was to use normal compressor for Blu Ray exporting what settings should I use, I only see HD DVD?
    Thank you in advance,

the results i get a odd. - the video exports fine, except for the beginning titles, instead a still frame image from somewhere else in the video occupies that intro, until the first transition- in this case- dip to white, then the rest of the video is fine. the portion of the beginning  that does not show are composed of:  livetype text credits in V2 - in which i have done a manual opacity fade up and down - so the livetype text fades in, over matte color solid in V1. in the exported video -i do not see any of this, all i see is a seemingly random still from somewhere else in the video. i can however hear the audio as it is supposed be.
cant figure out why this is happening. anybody know?
    i think the livetype files are 1920 x 1080.
my FCP sequence is 720 p
this has only recently started happening and doesn't seem to be consistent.
im wondering if it has to do with the live type files, or the white solid?…
    or the conversion settings above?

    Alistair
Earlybird is exporting H264 ... the Key Frames setting is determining the GOP length. This value should really be determined based on the complexity of the video, to my understanding, the actual frame rate has no bearing on it. If you have very complex fast moving content then a low Key Frame rate is advisable to ensure good image quality (although it will adversely affect the filesize) whereas if you have slow moving or static content (like an interview subject) then a higher Key Frame rate will still produce a good image but at a smaler filesize. The default of 24 should be pretty much fine as a catchall starting point.
    Earlybird
Corrupted render files (and render references) can be a pain because FCP will use those files and references  in place of the original media when building the export. And so it should as it does't want to waste time re-rendering sections that are apparently already rendered. Unfortuantely, as noted, if the render file has gone bad and/or starts referencing the wrong media then you'll get these wierd flashes of completely unexpeced and unwanted footage showing up where it shouldn't be. When you trash those files then QT / FCP will just go back and re-reference the original media ... so it's usually a worthwhile step to take just in case thats the problem.  The worse case scenario is that it only that doesn't work and you spend some time unecessarily re-rendering.
As to why these files go bad? That I don't know. Why do Preferences get corrupted? That I don't know either but it definitely happens :-(
    Cheers
