Export problems!!! Freezes with 5 SECONDS LEFT!!!

My Adobe Premire Elements freezes when I go to Share>PC>MPEG>Save, but only after most of it is done and it says it will be done in 5 seconds. This is really important because these videos are for a local video station and are broadcast weekly. I just got Adobe Premiere Elements two days ago and this is my first project on it. Can someone help?

After you have followed Steve's advice and insured that everything is good there, take a good, long close look at the end of your Project. Use the horizontal zoom to get the Timeline greatly magnified. Step slowly through the Assets near the end of your Timeline (remember, the 05 sec. is for the total Export operation, so look beyond the last 05 sec. on the Timeline.) with the PageUp and PageDn keys. Look for things like gaps in your Video Tracks. You do not want any gaps. Also, study the exact Assets at the end. Do they differ from the rest, i.e. different format/CODEC for a video, or maybe a very large still image. Is there any difference near the end? Go slowly and look very carefully.

The left side of the screen shifts to the right and the right side of the screen shifts to the left. lines also appear on my screen and I can not force quit any open application. I have not dropped my laptop at all.

I would like to avoid going to the an apple store to fix this problem if possible. The closest one to me is 40 miles away.

If you don't have the Applecare extended warranty then you will need to pay for the fix. The fix is a New Logic Board. It seems as your Graphics card is failing in some way. No there is no software fix for this.
The Graphic chip is soldered to the logic board and the only way to change/fix it is to replace the complete logic board.

TS1717 Windows 7: switch between several users - freezes with second user

when i open my account on my comp and start i tunus then when my frend whants on i get on and close itunes and then he gets switches user and he gets on to his i tunes and when he goes to open his preferecens it will frezze but it will play music fine and do evey thing else fine its just the preferecens it mess up i thick its a resource probelm be cues i can log out of my side and his will work fine even going in to the preferecens if you could help me or fix the problem i would be so happy

Basically - to restate.
My PC has multiple users since we're a family. The first person that logs in to their own account can open iTunes and have access to edit/preferences within a quarter of a second. The next person that wants to use the computer will close iTunes and Switch User to their own account. After starting iTunes, music can be played without an issue. However, selecting edit/preferences will result in a "freeze" of the application for about 4 minutes - then the preferences window opens up.
Each user has their own preferences file in their own /user subdirectory.
This problem does not occur when the first person is logged out (rather than switch user).
Is this an issue with itunes code gaining access to the preferences file or access to another resource?
If another resource, which one?
I am not too interested in logging out of my account each time one of my kids wants to use the computer so they can listen to music.

CVS problem (freezing) with JDeveloper

Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.1 build 1605, i am having a real weird problem with cvs. cvsnt has been installed in both my laptop and server. When connecting to local cvs server everything is fine. but when i try to connect to a remote server, suddenly the computer freezes. the freezing goes on for about 10 seconds, then everything gets back to normal, and after 5 seconds or so, everything freezes again. this goes on till i kill jdeveloper process.
the freezing goes on for a while after i kill it, but it goes away after that. but after that all my networking goes weird, and i can no longer ping the cvs server.
using eclipse, and tortoise from windows explorer i can connect to remote server without problems. i am using pserver, and my os is windows xp pro with sp2. I have also tried preview version of jdeveloper, but the symptoms are the same, even if i choose to use the cvs version that comes with jdeveloper or use the one from the environment vars (path)
so has anyone experienced such a problem? any help would be appraciated a lot.

Just a few questions to try and track down why this is happening.
Which version of cvsnt are you using, could you paste the output of cvs --version into this thread?
Do you have a large repository? JDeveloper did have some problems with cvs support being over chatty when trying to find incoming changes. JDeveloper was making more connections to the cvs server than were being cleared up effectively DOSing the cvs repos.
10.1.3 Production should have fixed this, could you give it a try?
It sounds like something is stopping network connections from being freed.

Adobe Media Encoder freezes with one second left

Hi all,
All of a sudden now, when I export from Premiere CS4 to AME, regardless of what codec I use, AME hangs with just one second left to go. It will not finish encoding, no matter how long I wait. When I hit "Stop Queue" the program itself hangs, and I have to "Force Quit" to start over.
I have installed the 4.0.1 update for both Premiere and AME. Running on a Macbook Pro 2.5 GHz, 4 GB RAM. Anyone else have this problem and figured out a solution?

Sounds like the empty timeline or premiere's 'black video' freeze issue.
For some reason the encoder freezes when the timeline encounters any 'blank' frames. By blank I mean either an empty timeline, or any of the Premiere generated color mattes, title cards, bars and tone, etc. (if this is overlaid with 'real' video footage it does not seem to be an issue).
So if your project ends with a fade to black, or some black footage at the end, that may be the culprit. Is this happening in your case?
Solution: I've generated a black video file (i created and exported this in After Effects) that I have now laid on the first (bottom) layer of every Premiere project I start. I have a 5 second video file that I just stretch over the duration of the project before I render. This has solved the freeze issue for me. If you search the forum there is other mention of introducing opacity keyframes into your generated footage as another work around. I haven't tried this way myself, so I can't fully comment.

Something fishy going on with those particular files. But without looking at them directly I couldn't say what. Usually in a case like this the problem is some of the metadata that is attached to the file. Where did these files come from? A camera, a scanner, the internet?
An explanation about the Watched Folder function: It looks for changes to a folder, not just automatically grabbing whatever files are in it. Generally, you want to select an empty folder as a Watch Folder. Once this has been set up, as you add files to this folder they will be imported into the Organizer. If you start with a folder full of images, those will be ignored, any new items will be added.

I am having problems viewing a TV episode. It freezes with about 10 minutes left and I can't click the button to move it to see if I can start it from a different point. Is there any way that I can fix this?

You can try to clear the cache and cookies to see if that makes a difference:

After exporting on FCP, quicktime video freezes with perfect audio.

First off, this is my first video I've exported with FCP.
I made the video, edited and everything with no problem. When I exported, however, a 10 second clip would turn every color of the rainbow and flash, but the audio was perfect.
After researching a little bit I used compressor and it somewhat solved my problem. It went from colors, to freezing. Again the audio is fine but the video freezes for the duration of the clip.
I'm lost at this point.

Without any information regarding original material codec, seqence settings (codec) and output format (codec), it's just generally useless guesswork.

13 in macbook pro (early to mid 2011) : after the update, computer freezes with spinning wheel every 30 seconds first with safari and now with all the applications. I don't have any programs installed and still had good enough memory on the RAM.

After the update of my 13 in mac book pro (early to mid 2011) , it freezes every 30 seconds with the spinning wheel and now it just freezes. Ive never had this problem until I recently updated. Also, I just checked now for available update ( which there was one), the update would process till the last step and it shows it cannot be expanded? Now my computer wont even restart (just have a grey screen with a cursor). Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on with my computer?
I also checked the memory and it showed available memory was over 1.5 GB. I dont have any programms installed and do not have backup yet ( dont really need it anyways)
Problems: first with spinning wheel every 30 seconds and now whole computer just freezes when I restart, it only shows grey screen after the starting sound or it takes about 8 to 10 minutes to restart.
This ALL happened right after the update with google chrome crashing. I know my apple care plan expired so I cant even go to genius bar. Do you guys know how much it would cost to get it fixed ? Or any recommendations I can do to fix this?

Problem solved!
First, the underlying cause MAY have been an unusual circumstance: a smartphone (Galaxy Android) was placed next to the iMac, turned on and with Bluetooth enabled, and left for hours to charge. Could this proximity have resulted in the Mac getting some strange Bluetooth input?
Fix: Using the temporarily-installed mouse and keyboard, I removed the existing Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad entries. (I just removed every Bluetooth device.) Then I used the standard procedure to re-pair the wireless keyboard and trackpad.
After removing all Bluetooth devices, I could not get the Mac to detect any Bluetooth devices until I restarted the Mac, at which point device detection and pairing worked flawlessly.
My best --and admittedly ignorant, sketchy-- theory: Some mal-formed event got stuck in the Bluetooth input stream, causing the trackpad up and/or down states to be hyper-sticky. That event couldn't be cleared without removing the originating device and re-pairing.

Playback of podcasts stops with 44 seconds left

I've got a 5th generation iPod. Recently, several podcasts have hung up with 44 seconds left to play. The iPod behaves as if it has finished playing back the recording, returning to the menu or cycling to the next podcast, depending on what it is being asked to do.
There is no problem with the original download in the sense that they play back in their entirety in iTunes on the computer itself.
I tried re-downloading the podcast.
I tried resetting the iPod
I restored the iPod.
None of these things helped.
Any ideas?

Exactly! The problem seems to have settled to podcasts of KCRW's The Score obtained via NPR.
Which podcasts(s) is/are bad for you?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Problem with PDF 1.3-Export: Photoshop-Files with transparency over InDesign colored objects

I'm using InDesign CS6.
I'v finished now a layout for a folder, and I put a photoshop-image with transparency over a InDesign-rectangle which I have filled with a cmyk-color in yellow.
When I export a PDF with the Settings "PDF X-3:2002" (with PDF-Standard 1.3) the Photoshop-image shows uggley jagged edges at the border to the InDesign-colored background. However, the Photoshop-images which are over another bitmap-image (as background), this images don't show this annoying edges.
When I export to PDF-Standard 1.4 the problem doesn't occor, however my printing-service requests PDF 1.3.
I know, the workaround for this problem is, to replace the yellow background-color with an bitmap-file with the same color, but is there any other option to get a correct result without this more time-consuming image trick?
I think it has to do with the transparency reduction which is necessary if using PDF 1.3. When I examine the PDF-File in Illustrator, this edges occurs mostly at the borders from the tiles in which the image is cut during the transparency reduction process. Although, if I open the rendered PDF in Photoshop this jagged edeges are visible, so it is definitly a render error.
I would be glad if someone of you has a solution for this problem, in the attachment is an image which illustrate the problem.

PDF Export problems when viewing with Preview 4.2

Hi Everyone,
I'm an Indesign novice for sure, so this may be fairly basic to a lot of you, but I'm having problems with a document of mine. I've built my portfolio in indesign using PNG images from my book. In Indesign I've applied the gradient feather to each image to give it a reflection. When I export the book with no compression, it's too large, so I've tried regular JPEG compression (at maximum) and JPEG 2000 compression at lossless and I get better file sizes, however when I view the PDF in preview there's 2 problems:
1. The images look like crap no matter what with any compression applied. Very blurry, pixelated... generally looks like crap. In Acrobat, everything looks sharp and beautiful.
2. The reflections don't exist at all. There's just an upside down version of the image there with no transparency whatsoever.
I need it to look good in both programs because it's impossible for me to control who's viewing my book in what program. It's so odd because a year ago when I built my portfolio in keynote, it looked beautiful in preview, but like crap in Acrobat.
Any ideas?

I can understand the gradient feather not appearing properly, and I can build the reflections into the original PNG if I must, but any idea why the images look so bad? They look fuzzy, and far from sharp with ANY any compression. The only way an exported PDF looks ok in preview is if I export it with no compression at all. Yet when looked at in reader, they look sharp (even with compression).

Please let me know the OS you are using and the exact error message that apeared.
If the files have already been downloaded then try running the setup.exe file to see if the installation initiates.
You might want to retry the download and check again.
