Export quicktime movie from Flash CS6 hangs

I am trying to export a very short flash animation as a quicktime video from Flash CS6 but when the "Recording Flash Content" progress bar gets to the end nothing happens. I am able to click cancel and the x but nothing has been created for me.
If I wait long enough I get the error message "The export operation failed because it ran out of memmory" How can I fix this?

Hi Tomlijagogo,
Can you try the solutions in this post? Flash CS6, QuickTime: The export operation failed because it ran out of memory.
Thanks,
Preran

  • Not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6.

Hi! I am not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6. When I export it the progress bar is showing and says Recording Flash content and nothing happens

I havent exported any videos in the past from Flash. The movie is around 45 seconds and the size is 470KB.
I tried both, the memory and the hard drive.
In the attached image you can see the settings and in the other image you can see the progress bar that remains without something to happen.
I dont mind what type of video to export it can be also .avi but again I have troubles there. It is very large and the animation is distorted.
The animation consist from two scenes. The first one can be exported without any problem but the second one cannot be exported. May be because it has some masks layers and guide layers?

  • No more alpha in exported QuickTime movie from Keynote '09

    Hello
In Keynote '08, I create a slide with no background (None).
I add some text with some fancy text IN and OUT features.
I export using the Animation codec and the transparency option.
When I reimport the movie in another Keynote '08 file, it inherits the transparency of the imported file and thus everything is perfectly blended.
In Keynote '09 it is not possible anymore.
Even if I import an exported QuickTime movie from Motion with a transparent background, it is not possible to have a perfect blend, all layers are opaque.
Last but not the least, adding transparent files on top of each other in QuickTime player does not preserve transparency despite the fact that the Animation + transparency features are added in the files.
    Thank you in advance.

Hey Gary - first off, thanks for your reply! I am currently forcing spotlight to re-index to see if that might help me out. After that I will try your suggestion and run a system software check.
I need a ProRes export as this is going to be combined with IMAG footage from a live presentation as well as additional video from an Arri Alexa. I want to preserve as much quality as possible so that there isn't a discrepancy in the final edit. Originally, I was rendering a small test to the desktop to gauge output quality of animations etc. I did go ahead and re-export a second time to an external drive, but it doesn't seem to matter as Keynote appears to initially render everything to the startup drive no matter what. The second export still ate about 15 gigs from my startup disk and I am unable to find any sort of temp files anywhere!
I am showing all files in Finder and searching around the ~/private/tmp folders to no avail. In the image below there appears to be a discrepancy in the size being reported by finder and the size I'm seeing listed in terminal...

  • Cannot export quicktime movie from iPhoto

    latest imac (brand new)
    iphoto slideshow...
when i try to export a slideshow as a quicktime movie...it renders the quicktime movie...then when it goes into the "saving" phase...it just keeps saving and never ends...
but it will let me save a high quality mp4 movie...
it seems to be something with the quicktime format
(i posted to the iphoto forum...no replies...it seems to relate the quicktime format...so thought maybe someone here could help)

I had the same problem and figured it out. I had a FLA from the office and took it home to work on. At the office I was exporting to a folder on the staging server and had my SWF and HTML Publish settings set up that way. At home I tried to export the same FLA to quicktime (along came the aforementioned error). I made a folder on my local drive, set my publish settings for my SWF and HTML to export there, published, and low and behold, I was able to export to Quicktime. Problem solved.

  • Help Emergency for Exporting Quicktime Movie from FCP

    Hello -
Not sure if anyone is up at this hour, but I have a huge grant deadline TODAY and we are having trouble getting my film trailer onto a DVD. NOT newbies, checked manuals and searched more than a few forums.
Details: 11-minute sequence made with FCP version 5.0.3 G4 Tower Dual 800 Processor.
Following suggestions found here and other places, we selected sequence in FCP > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion
There is supposed to be an MPEG 2 format choice that comes up but it does not. Other choices but not MPEG 2.
In the past the editor has exported as a regular quicktime movie, self-contained, and dragged it into DVDSP and the conversion was done in DVDSP. When we try that we get "incompatible format."
So we have the trailer sequence as a regular quicktime movie, and an MPEG4 which may be of use as a coaster since from what I've read it's not readable in most DVD players.
Is there any way to convert the MPEG 4 sequence to MPEG 2 so it can be seen on a DVD player?
Please, Please help with any suggestions. Manuals HAVE been consulted prior to posting. Have been up all night, and I have to get this trailer in today. thank you for any help you can offer.

so we have one cooking in the oven now -
we ended up going with Best/120min/4:3 because the 90-min one didn't allow us to choose "all"
It's an 11-minute sequence, and hopefully in not-too-long it will be recorded on a DVD. I can't tell you how grateful I am that you responded to my smoke signal! (I am, in fact, quite fried at this point).
I'm kind of surprised that after an hour searching about this on this forum and others, no mention of how to actually do this despite a lot of mentions of "threads about this." I tried so many searches using different terms and date ranges, but i'm just glad that you were at or near your computer.
Again, thank you and sending lots of gratitude from NY. It's still cooking, so hopefully I'm out of the woods, but it will be nice if things go smoother now that the sun is up over here.
    grazie

  • Jumpy video after Exporting Quicktime Movie from PS CS4 Extended

I am trying to produce a short training video for work.  I created my entire movie in iMovie '09, and decided that it desperately needed some arrows and text to clarify some of the more technical aspects.  I exported it as a Quicktime file from iMovie and imported into Ps CS4 extended.
After I finished the editing, I chose to export my video, again as a Quicktime movie.
The export completed, and when I went to review my movie, it was extremely jumpy.  Watching the time line on the bottom of the Quicktime screen, I noticed that it was jumping in multiple second intervals.  The audio portion seemed normal, but the video kept freezing and scrambling.
I attempted re-exporting the video with the Quicktime settings of Animation, and Frames Per Second set at current.
    No difference.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong????

    Marian -
Thank you for your response.  I am only an amateur video editor, and up until now, I hadn't bumped up against the limitations of iMovie too often.  You are definitely correct, it would FAR easier to do these effects in FCE, FCPro, AE, Premiere, etc., except for one thing . . . I don't own any of those programs!    (I've already ordered a copy of Final Cut Express, but it stinks to have to spend $200 to get $7 worth of personal functionality.)
I do, however, own the extended Ps CS4.  And, to paraphrase the guy on Lynda.com, "You already have it, and you know how to use it . . . It should work for you . . ."
This is the information on the file, it was exported this way automatically by iMovie (They don't give you much control over these functions.)
Unfortunately, I trashed my output from PS as well as the .psd in a fit of rage!  It wouldn't take me more than 30 minutes to recreate it . . .
Would it be worth attempting to export it using H.264 instead of the animation Codec?

  • Need advice on exporting to .MOV from Flash

I'm creating an introductory video for readers of my webcomic. Because I  know Flash, I'm creating it there. Basically it's a voiceover with some  static comic images getting panned and zoomed around, with some sound  effects and such.
They key thing is that I want this to be easily shared. The best way for  that (I think - open to other opinions) is to get the final file  uploaded to YouTube and saved as a YouTube video, which I then embed on  my site. YT vids are extremely easy to share and email around. This  gives me the best option for getting the most eyeballs on it.
The problem I have had in the past is that exporting a Flash file to  .mov makes a MASSIVE file, size-wise. This video will be like 3 minutes  long, I'm a little worried that the file size might be too big to upload  to YT. Also, in general the exported .mov looks like garbage compared  to the SWF.
I know you can modify the Quicktime compression settings and such when  exporting, but I am not sure what the optimal settings are.
What are your thoughts? Looking for any good advice...

    Hi Pixelmech,
one option I use a lot is to export not to Quicktime but to PNG sequence. Then import that into After Effects (assuming you have AE) and add a filter (optional) and then export to MOV format. YouTube allows uploads of files up to 2GB (I am pretty sure). In fact YT has a spec sheet on what compression to use too:

    Hope this helps.

  • Export QuickTime Prob from Flash - Junk displayed in .mov

    Hi
I'm trying to export a Flash movie as a .mov file. The animation is not that big but there are strange display issues. As the character moves across the screen, there are bits and pieces left on the screen from the previous movements. It's just not rendering correctly and looks terrible. I can't seem to fix it and have been playing with the Format settings etc. It doesn't help. There's always the junk left on the screen. Any ideas? I am using CS4 on Mac OS 10.6.7
    Thanks!

  • How can I export a graphic slide with a quicktime movie from Keynote?

I export a title slide with a quicktime movie from Keynote to my desktop and it plays fine with audio. Once I insert or drag the clip into iWeb the resolution is degraded and very choppy. The resolution is 320x200 and I'm exporting from Keynote as a custom size (320x200) Frame rate: 29.97 Key Frames: Automatic Key Reordering is checked Data Rate: Automatic Quality: Multi pass. I need some help.

how large is the video and if you publish - does it still have the same horrible quality?
you might considering exporting as flash (loads faster) and integrating that into your iweb site using post-editing: http://karreth.com/index.php/articles/iframes-iweb/

  • Flash CS4, Exporting Quicktime Movie: size, aspect ratio, and alignment

I am new to Flash so this may be a basic question, but I have not been able to find anything in the help files or the forums.
I have tried several times to change the size of my quicktime movies, from 550 pixels by 400 pixels to 480 pixels by 480 pixels, and I cannot seem to do it. I have used "Modify > Document" and tried every option I could find through this command. Each time I export I double check that the export settings match my desired size, and they do, but when I open the movie in quicktime, it has been stretched to fit 550 x 400 pixels. The preview movie looks exactl how I want, it is only the exported movie that is incorrect.
Is it possible to make a quicktime movie of the size I would like, or is that a standard format that cannot be adjusted?
As a workaround, I have tried squeezing my 480x480 content into the 550x400 stage (while scaling it prportionally). but when I do this, the square of content is not centered in the background in quicktime. It is off center in the preview movie as well, and this commonly occurs after I have used "modify > document" to change the size of the document. The side to which it is aligned seems to be inconsistent.
Is there a way to realign the video after I have modified the document size? Does changing the document size through "modify > document" affect the centering and alignment of my video? Is there a way to change it back?
I have attached images of my videos in flash, and then what they look like after export.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
    -Ben

    to explain a little further . . .
the dark gray areas in my images delineate the content of the animation, and in the "550x400 after export" image, the black strip to the right is a margin showing the background color of the document, which is black. notice that there is only a margin on one side, and not both.
    Thanks some more,
    -Ben

  • How do I stop Quicktime player from auto-launching after I've exported a movie from iMovie 10?

How do I stop Quicktime player from auto-launching after I've exported a movie from iMovie 10?
It's really annoying for Quicktime player to auto-lauch!

It may not be that simple David. They're using a "server" and some of the Apache software may want to launch QuickTime at boot.
This isn't really a QuickTime question. It's a sever question best answered in those Discussion pages.

  • Audio and Video option missing from Export Quicktime Movie Include

Today as I was exporting a clip, I noticed that the Audio and Video option was missing from the Include drop down. I only have the options of Left, Center, Right.
I highlight the sequence, control E (or File>Export>Quicktime Movie) and the Save window comes up. The Settings drop down is the same, the Markers: drop down is the same, but the Include: has the options of Left, Center and Right. I thought the Video and Audio dropdowns were always there. I hate to admit it, but I have not paid attention to them in a while. Getting old I guess.

    Thanks, forgot about that.
For what ever reason it started working correctly a couple of hours later, after I started an SD project. The video came out fine
I had been trying out a couple new applications, so maybe one was causing it. I will see if it happens in the future.

  • Quicktime moves from FCP

Ok - I'm officially out of my depth.
After 6 months editing a lorryload of 4x3 miniDV interviews I finally got sign-off this morning.
Client wants a quick DVD to watch over Chritmas, so I Export Quicktime movies (normal, no conversion) of all 10 timelines, simply adding .mov on the end.
I make a 4x3 DVD project in iDVD, and drop in the QT moves.
All fine and dandy, but one, just ONE of these movies insists in playing all squeezed out in 16x9.
The odd thing is that this is the second time I've done this. Last week I went through the same process, and the same clip was playing out in 16x9.
These are all new clips (I've changed the edit since then), and it's a brand new iDVD project.
    But same result.
I've checked the rogue clip in QT and iTunes, and it plays just the same as all the others.
So I tried MPEGStreamclip - and noticed some full screen red rogue frames, which suggested a problem.
I checked the other clips - they all have the red rogue frames - even though they behave normally in iDVD.
    What might be causing this?
I'm tried re-Exporting all the clips as 100% Quicktime movies from Streamclip.
The files were all much bigger then the originals. How can that be happening?
But when I reload them in Streamclip they still have the red flashes.
I've tried doing a SaveAs from Quicktime - still red flashes.
Even MPE4 versions - red flashes - and these show up in iDVD too.
Any advice gratefully received. I'm running out of time here
    Thanks
    Tom

I forget to mention that I made the original movies on a MacBook Pro running Tiger and QT 7.6.4, but was trying to make the iDVD on a new machine running Snow Leopard and QT10 - because it has a much faster burner and I'm in a hurry!
I'm now trying to make the iDVD on the older machine and there is no sign of the red flashes - plus that rogue movies plays normally.
    Phew... BUT
Someone else is making the real, proper DVD - what will happen when he tried to pick up these quicktime movies on and AVID (pre version 5)?
    Thanks
    Tom

  • How many times can you "Export - Quicktime movie" the same ProRes 422 file until it starts to lose quality?

Lets say you are done with your project & you want an uncompressed copy of it as your master. If you keep importing it back into Final Cut Pro, & keep exporting (Quicktime movie), will it ever start to lose quality?

I've never seen a number given, but would think it is very high.
    Apple describes ProRes here:
    About Apple ProRes
    And in that document says:
"while remaining visually lossless through many generations of decoding and reencoding."
I don't think I've ever seen degradation caused by recompression or multiple compassion, but as a workflow if you output a master file, then re-import it to add graphics and export that, you would only be 1 generation down from the master file. If you wanted to make multiple versions, you can always go back to, and re-import,  the master file and make the changes, then export, so all you exports stay only 1 generation down from the master file.
