Export quicktime video to play super fast.

I have a 8 hour video of me driving from Ohio to Kansas. Isn't there a way to export it so it plays super fast; kinda like they do on some music videos?

Tilting at windmills if I ever saw it.
You could download the iTunes version (a little over one gigabyte) to have a file to work with and use QuickTime Pro to export.
You would then switch to the MPEG-4 Video codec rather than use the H.264 version that is nearly impossible play without issues on a G3.
Cut the frame rate in half (30 down to 15) and do the same with the data rate (not sure of those values).
Size the file at 640X480 (not sure of the actual dimensions so check the aspect) and leave the audio track the same. Wait (probably a very long time) for the export to complete.
You could test a few one minute "cuts" from the source to check your settings so you really don't waste a lot of time.

Can't get Quicktime videos to play once uploaded - using iWeb 08

Please help. I just updated my work website and uploaded a few quicktime videos of my TV spots. These same spots were uploaded and played fine on my last website update last year. But this time around, they're not working so well. Once uploaded, if you click on the controls under the screen, they don't respond. If you double-click the actual screen, the video starts and stops playing.
How can I get my quicktime videos to play like they're supposed to on my site? I'm using iWeb 08 and my version of Safari is 5.0.2.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked. However, it's three different videos on three different pages, and each video is pretty much the only thing on each page.

ever since i downloaded itunes 8 every song i play in itunes seems to be playing in super fast mode.... kinda sounds like alin and the chipmunks
i tried reinstalling and other versions but still the same

I'm having a similar problem. It started with iTunes 7, so I hoped version 8 would fix it. It's not my sound driver, because the files play fine in Media Player, and it's not all of the songs. About 20% of my songs just sound like garbage and play really fast. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and that didn't help either. I've noticed a couple of the tracks on my iPod sound the same, so I am apprehensive about updating my iPod, fearing that it will screw up the rest of my music.

Quicktime video is playing choppy!

I'm having problems importing my hd quicktime file in fcp. video is playing choppy. original file plays choppy as well on quicktime. file is being import from canon rebel T3i

Convert the material to ProResLT (if you have fcp v7) or ProRes standard (if using fcp v6.
The compressed format those cams record is not directly editable in FCP.

Settings to export a Quicktime video to play smoothly on an iBook G3

Hi, now I that I have an A/V cable for my iBook, I can hook it up to my TV to watch videos, etc. The problem is, a lot of videos do not play smoothly because the processor is only 500 Mhz G3.
I have tried to "re-enocde" the videos at a smaller size, etc thinking that they might play better, but haven't been able to find a set of settings that works.
For example, right now I want to re-encode the Apple Keynote from the other day so I can watch it on TV. I tried doing this with the last Apple keynote and was never able to keep the picture smooth and the audio in sync. It was a disaster no matter what I tried, and I ended up just watching it on another computer - although i'd rather watch it on my TV from the couch!
I do have Quicktime PRO, so if anyone could give me some suggestions in re-compressing this video, that would be great!

Audio on keynote exported quicktime videos cuts out at 50 seconds?

It just started! When I export my keynote into a Quicktime file, the audio cuts out at 50 seconds. I have been creating videos a long time with this method and never had problems before.

I am willing to share files with Apple. Mine are copyrighted, but are shareable.
But here's a wrinkle on the problem that puts me a little more in sympathy with Apple engineers, since they may well not have encountered the subtle environments we have that is generating this audio problem.
I was having the same problem you are for several days after I upgraded to Keynote 6.5 and Yosemite 10.10 (running on a mid-2011 MBA). I duplicated a keynote file with audio recorded that cut out after 50 seconds or so: audio stopped on slide 2 even though I had recorded and saved the whole 50 minute presentation. I store my keynote presentations along with Quicktime movies (m4v) and downsampled mp4 files in a sparsebundled disk image. I created a new, larger disk image yesterday because I was running out of storage space. To do that, I copied all the files in the sparsebundle to a temporary folder on a backup drive (My Mac Book Air is running out of storage space). Then, I deleted the old sparse bundle, created the new one, and copied all the files back.
After reading your latest post, I thought I would try again. I opened my test Keynote file, now copied to the new sparse bundle, and the audio works! I can hear the audio in the Keynote file when I "Play Recorded Slideshow" from the Play menu. I also exported to a Quicktime m4v movie and the audio is all there. The Keynote file size didn't change during all this: still 36.8MB, which is typical for the audio recorded ones. I start with a 2 to 4MB presentation of 15-20 slides, record audio, and the file size increases to 35-40MB. Then the Quicktime m4v is typical 200-300MB. This one is: 239.4MB.
So, although the bug is not squashed, take heart and don't delete those files! Your audio may actually be in there somewhere.

Weird audio problems with Motion when exporting quicktime videos

I have a Motion project with 2 video clips of people talking. When I create a RAM preview everything plays back fine. When I export a quicktime, the first second or so of each video clip (within the quicktime) have no audio. I've adjusted the in and out of each clip in Motion but I don't think that would make the audio disappear on export. Thinking it was just a bad export, I tried just exporting the audio and the same thing happens.
Here's what i'm using:
Mac Pro dual 3.0 Xeon
10 gigs of RAM
Motion 2.1.2

hi,
motion 2 had some odd audio problems that surfaced now and then. The only way round it was to bring the clip into FCP and edit the audio in there, and then export from fcp.
Motion 3 might have fixed this. Not sure havent had the problem for some time, since I make sure all finnishing is done in FCP.

How can I get Quicktime videos to play fully screen?

I recently downloaded Quicktime Pro to my windows computer in order to be able to play Quicktime movies in full screen, but they still only play in the small video pane. Everything seems to be properly installed using the key I received, and my programs now indicate that I do have Quicktime Pro installed. Why doesn't it play in full screen?

Look under the Help menu and click "Installed Plug-ins".
Do you have QuickTime associated with that file type?
You set them using the QuickTime System Preference / Advanced tab MIME Settings button.
Quit and relaunch your browser after making changes.

Older BMW Quicktime Videos not Playing

I have some older 2004 BMW Videos such as Ticker, Ambush, Star etc which I have not played in awhile. These Videos now do not play on my new Intel iMac running the latest version of Quicktime.
Any suggestions ?

Took all the codecs out of my iMac(iMac/Library/Quicktime) with no success.
If you mean you transfered the codecs from old computer to new one, were all the codecs "Universal Binary?" If you mean you removed all codecs from new computer to test for incompatibilities, then I remind you that you need to look at the movies themselves (Finder "Info", QT "Show Movie Info", QT "Show Movie Properties", and/or similar third-party options that allow you to determine a movie's audio/video format characteristics) to find out which compression formats were used and then make sure you have the appropriate universal binary versions installed. Otherwise, you may have to run under "Rosetta" for them to work properly.

2. UpGraded to Quicktime Pro
This only allows access to specific menu options/edit features and should have no effect on playback.

WebCam Live! Pro: Video Playback Plays Too Fast...

I recorded a few clips for about 0 to 5 seconds each. When i playback on different players, PowerDVD, DivX Player, Windows Media Player and even the WebCam Center's own player, the video plays like its fastforwarding, and it says that the video is only 2 to 3 seconds long. The recording
format is:
Colour Space/Compression: RGB24
Output Size : 640 x 480
Frame Rate : 30fps
Compression Control : All the way to Better Quality
And also what does the 30fps mean? Does it mean smooth video like those on television? Or, 30fps in WebCam terms, means better and smoother video over other WebCams?

Try turning off automatic exposure in the settings. And adjust some of the other settings (gamma, brightness, exposure) until you get a picture which you're happy with. And try that. In the UK, films are made at 24fps (frames per second) PAL format, and in America it's 30fps NTSC format. So yes, 30fps is as good as it gets! It's as good as TV and better than a lot of other webcams.

Video Audio plays too fast

I seem to have this problem with videos from
finance.yahoo.com when I never had this problem? Anyway to slow it
down? I don't recall ever having this problem and I did a uninstall
reinstall of flash player. works on youtube, etc with no problem
but every videos from finance.yahoo.com is too fast.

Does Streamclip allow you to choose between Type 1 and Type 2 DV AVI? If so then you want Type 2 in your conversions.

Drop zone video playing too fast

I am building a Motion title sequence with a drop zone for video. I placed it into FCPx as a connected clip (purple timeline box), and associated the video under it to the drop zone. It all works except the video dropped in plays super fast, far out of sync with the audio below. Not sure why.
My FCPX timline, source footage and motion file are all the same frame rate, 23.98. Any ideas?

Where can you place a marker en set the project loop end. Because can place a marker and then go to edith marker. But i see no list as above?
1. Deselect any objects in the Timeline. Select Mark/Markers/Add Marker. If that menu item is not available, make sure there are not layers selected in the Layers window.
2. A timeline marker will be created at the playhead. When the playhead is on that marker, the Edit Marker menu item will become available.
3. Select Mark/Markers/Edit Marker. This brings up the dialogue where you can Name, Comment and select the marker type. Choose Project End Loop from the Type menu, then click OK.
4. Drag the Marker to the end of the timeline.
Adrie, I have not encountered your problem with freezing drop zones. In the past I have had many drop zones playing simultaneously, so it should work. If you suspect that you have a bad install, you should probably reinstall it before troubleshooting any further to eliminate that possibility. I am running a fresh install of 5 on a system that has never had 4 on it.

Captured video plays back fast (sped up) in Final Cut Express 4

I had a Panasonic mini-dv digital camera that was stolen and it worked great with FCE. I purchased a JVC GR-D870 (mini-dv) as a replacement and now in FCE when I capture video it plays back fast in the Viewer and if I open the .mov file in Quicktime. Note that the video plays back at the correct speed when played from the camera, and when the video is being captured. I've tried changing my Easy Setup, but nothing has helped much. I'm currently using the DV-NTSC FireWire Basic setting, though it doesn't matter which one I chose. I did try using the 25.00 fps DV-PAL setting and interestingly it will capture for about 2 seconds and then crash, but the 2 second clip I'm left with seems to playback at the normal speed. This is an NTSC camera so not sure how to get the video that I capture to play at the correct speed (frame rate?). Any help would be most appreciated.

I have no idea why it is playing back fast, but if you have an NTSC camera you must use an NTSC Easy Setup.
When FCE behaves strangely the first thing to try is to delete the preferences as described here:-

Since upgrading to Lion, I cannot play QuickTime videos in Safari 5.1.1, not even on Apple's own website?

Upgraded to Lion and now I cannot watch QuickTime videos in Safari 5.1. Did not have this problem in Snow Leopard. QuickTime videos do play in Firefox. I cannot even play QuickTime videos on Apple's own website. Any suggestions? I'm using a Macbook Core 2 Duo.

I have partially solved my problem. I had software installed for a Twelve South BassJump (it improves the sound of your laptop speakers). When I removed that software, I was able to play videos on Apple's website in Safari. The company has beta software available from their website that is supposed to be Lion compatible but when I installed that the problem returned. But even with that software removed I still cannot watch videos on some sites such as Other World Computing.
I just got a new Macbook Pro yesterday with Lion installed from Apple and all video plays fine. So I believe there must be some compatibilty issues with some plug-in. I have Perian and Flip4Mac installed. I removed 3ivx and the problem still remains. I've read conflicting opinions as to Perian being Lion compatible.
Everything works fine in Firefox at this point so at least I have that to fall back on.
Check your system preference pane under "other" and tell me if you have any of the plug-ins I mentioned installed. Maybe we will be able to see a common culprit.

Getting Quicktime movies to play on iPhone

I have been updating my web site, moving it from GoLive over
to Dreamweaver and doing a revamp (you can see it at
Whale of a Tale Productions)
but I am having issues getting my Quicktime Video to play on my
iPhone. I get the play button as I should, but when I try to play
any of my videos I get an error message, and I know these movies
are correctly formatted to play on the iPhone as I can get them to
sync and they play back perfectly, just when I try to get them from
the web site, that they break.
I am currently using Brendan Dawes Quicktime 4.1 COntroller
version 1.0.1 to embed my Quicktime movies. Do I need to add an
extra tag to get them to work on my iPhone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the code I am
using to embed my movie in Dreamweaver.

correcttly formatted file based on the bandwitdh to the
browser...see the ADC at the apple site. They have some informative
