Export? Render? Share?

I would like to be able to EXPORT my Slideshow from iPhoto5 then IMPORT it into FCP5 for editing/effects. Is this possible?

this rendered and took me to iDVD... but I just want a .mov or something. I don't want to have to use an already compressed version.

Well... mpeg anything is a compressed format. As an editor I'd like to always edit with the least amount of compression as possible. This would be either an uncompressed file or at the most DV compression.
I'm not sure if VEGAS will ingest this mpg4 file or not. It's a Windows only application anyway. I usually use it to change the file type to something I can use since it will pretty much take on any file type you throw at it, provided the Codec's on your workstation. But since I'm trying to perfect my Mac workflow I'd like to know how to do this process without going to Windows. This is something I see myself doing a lot of since I usually don't just use a Slideshow on a DVD. I like to do a Slideshow as part of a DVD. I would like to use the Exported Slideshow as a file that I can edit in and out of in FCP.
You said you're able to bring it into FCP4.5, right?
Are you able to play it from the timeline?
I'm able to Import and play the file but it appears that the Audio is 4 tracks. I can see the video in FCP5 but there is No Sound. I only get 'beeps' when played from the timeline.
What Sequence settings do you choose when you import to FCP?
I've tried them all.

Export your project as a movie file
Choose Share > Export Movie (or press Command-E).
Choose an export format from the Export pop-up menu.
This menu provides a list of codecs.
Choose an option from the “Open with” pop-up menu:
Do Nothing: The movie is not opened after the export is completed.
Open with QuickTime Player: The movie is opened in QuickTime Player.
Open with Compressor: The movie is opened in Compressor (if installed on your system).
Choose an option from the Include pop-up menu: Video and Audio, or Video Only.
If you’ve set In and Out points in the Timeline, use the Duration pop-up menu to choose whether to export the sequence or the portion between the In and Out points.
To specify additional Motion-specific options, click Render.
For more information about options available in the Render pane, see Render settings.
To see details about the file to be output, click Summary.
Click Next.
Enter a name and choose a location for the exported file, then click Save.
Motion renders and saves your movie.
Important:    The Export Movie command does not use background rendering, so you must wait until rendering is finished before you can continue to work in Motion.

Export gives "Unable to create" error,Can't EXPORT or SHARE modified images

I am running iPhoto 8.1.2 and I cannot export or share any images I modify.
Upon editing images (cropping or enhancing color profile), I am unable to drag and drop images to my desktop (gives a "∅" symbol) which I used to do all the time. I cannot export them - iPhoto gives an error: "Unable to create" filename error...
If I look at the "Show file" and verify the contents of the folder, none of the images I have modified appear there. If I look at "Show original file" all the original files are there but do not have my edits/cropping, etc. Where are my modified images going and how can I get to them? iPhoto seems like it is getting Alzheimer's or something...
I have tried closing and re-opened iPhoto and all the images thumbnails appear to be ok with my updated crops/enhancements. Double-clicking and opening them opens files with the correct edit/enhancements. Everything seems ok until I try to export or share any of the modified photos.
I tried rebuilding iPhoto and selecting the first 4 options but after the rebuild the problem still persists...
None of the files that I cropped/enhanced appear in the "Modified" folder for that date. There are some files there, but they appear to be files that I deleted!
So, where are my cropped/enhanced photos going??? iPhoto shows them ok in the Events, etc. but they are not in the "Modified" folder and I cannot export, drag/drop, email or share them...
This has been happening to me for awhile now and it is very frustrating. iPhoto is ok so long as I don't do any cropping or enhancing. If I do that, then it gets all screwed up...
I know that I can use something like "iPhoto Library Manager" to rebuild stuff but I don't want to lose any of my data. I have done extensive work with faces, places, attributes, names, etc...
I JUST WANT iPHOTO TO WORK LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO AND LIKE IT USED TO!

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions.
If the permissions have been mucked up somehow, it's likely that your edits have not been saved.
If the fails:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How to correctly export and share an ADF project?

We are having some trouble with our SVN, so for the moment I am trying to share an ADF application I started developing with another developer by making a zip file of the entire application directory. We are both using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
My colleague extracts the zip file and opens the application jws file, but JDeveloper on his machine does not seem to be recognizing that it is an ADF application. Many of the ADF libraries are missing in the project classpath, and the design editor does not open JSF files correctly, and shows lots of errors.
Why might this be happening? What is the correct way to export and share an ADF application workspace?

First thng to try is to rename the system11.1.1.x.x.x.x folder and start jdev again. Jdev will recreate the folder, but any bad configuration inside the folder are gone and this might help to get it running again. However, all customization done in jdev are gone. It's like jdev is freshly installed.
If you try this and get the question if you like to migrate from an older version answer 'no' as you might get the error back this way.

I can't export or share my project.

Okay, I am a beginner and trying my best. But right now my best is definately not good enough.
I am using the 30-day trial of Final Cut Pro X with the latest updates. It's only limitation is the 30-day trial so I should be able to export and share my project.
After I mark the project and then click on the share-symbol->export I get the following message: "This item cannot be shared while it is still referencing media on the camera." I have also tried file->share but that menu is in gray and I can't click the options. If I click on any of the clips in the events window I can export them but that's not what I want to do.
I can't remove the trial and download it again since I can only download it once.
I suspect it might have something to do with my organizing the clips and the original files. My originals are in a folder on the desktop and that is the location I import media from into Final Cut's events.
If you have any ideas, please help me out.

I had the copy to event function checked on. The folder is a regular folder that I created on my desktop. I have put other folders inside that folder, one of which is called "FILM" and contains 10 camera archive folders that the camera (Sony NEX-5N) created for me. That is how the footage was automatically uploaded onto my MacBook Pro. Each of the camera archive folders contains multiple clips.

Export / Render Video Broken?

MacPro1,1 (32bit kernel, 64bit OS X 10.7.5)
x5355 8-core 2.67GHz CPU,
32GB RAM,
4-Drive RAID0 System and data drive (four new 3TB Seagate Barracuda [fast] drives)
GTX 570, 1.3GB - Recognized by PhotoShop for OpenCL and OpenGL
PhotoShop CC (v 14.1.2 x64) Trail (about 5 days into it)
1) I can open a video and play it back at the speed of the video.
2) I can not get playback faster than 1 fps if there are any filters applied - the pre-render / buffering isn't working at all.
3) I can not "Render Video" by choosing either "Render Video from the menus or the Export Arrow button in the GUI.
As soon as I select either I get a Progress Bar that that says "Initializing Video Export" but never finishes. I have waited as long as 4hrs and still no dice.
I've tried with more than a few different videos and the result is always he same. Here are three of the videos I have tried with:

Is the trial version of Photoshop CC a function-limited (cripled) eddition or is it the full-featured version same as the purchased product? I had always thought they were the full versions but I thought I might check to make sure.

Quicktime cant export or share!

My Quicktime can't export or share files!
The Export seems to work fine but crashes in the end, the exported file crashes every software (Quicktime, iMovie, Mail etc.)
The same problem when exporting in iMovie!
The same file converts just fine on my girlfriends mac.
What can I do?
(I run the latest system and Quicktime pro version on an iMac G5...)

Yes the files opens and plays perfectly in Quicktime.
I have had this problem for a while, the file i tryed now has format and codek:
Motion JPEG OpenDML, Unsigned Integer (Whatever that means)
Todays files are from a Cannon camera but I have had similar problems in other files i.e. original iMovie files...
Previous attempts to fix this problem has been:
- Reinstalling Quicktime.
- Creating a new user on this mac.
- Reinstalling the system (keeping my user info)
None of these helped.
The error message I get includes this text "KERNINVALIDADDRESS (0x0001) at 0xc0000000 quicktime"
Greatful for any advise!

Why can't I File-export-render video into a mpeg 4 rendering into a small .mov file format in cs6?

I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. Loss of Export and Share with 7.1.3

On a G4 PowerBook FW800, I've updated to QuickTime 7.1.3.
The Export and Share items are now gone. This is QuickTime Pro and that is still rewcognized under Registration.
Any similiar experiences? Any solutions other than trying to downgrade?

My guess would be that a firewall or some other privacy filter or possibly antivirus or antispyware utility is blocking the ability of QuickTime Player to connect to Apple's server. Many such utilities and filters will erroneously consider an upgrade to an application as a new installation and so have to be reset to allow the connection again, so you may need to go into the settings of any such firewall/filter/utility and reallow QuickTime Player's connections.

Photoshop CC - EXPORT - RENDER VIDEO issue, screenshots included

Hi there,
I´ve created a 25seconds long video in Photoshop CC. When I tried to export it, after I hit Export-Render Video, no dialog box open, it only shows progress bar sayin: Initializing Video Export" and there it stops. My Photoshop and Pc are working fine, nothing is frozen. Im using Windows 8. How can I fix this issue?

I sometimes get this problem then if I kill Photoshop and try again everything goes smoothly and it renders. There is something wrong in Photoshop video rendering module - when it fails it seems to get in an endless goto loop or so I guess as it is only using one of the eight cores and hyperthreads available to it, when working properly it uses all eight. Exactly the same file with exactly the same edits hang without even getting to the stage you illustrate, hang as you illustrate, open the render box and then hang rendering or renders the video perfectly. Something needs investigating by Adobe.

Aperture 3 problem export (or share) photos via outlook

I have Aperture 3.5.1; Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.3.9
When I try to export (or share) photos via email using Outlook I can see the little wheel on Aperture spin saying "exporting" however it does NOT open a new email window and I cannot find out where the photos have gone. In Aperture preferences I have set Outlook; Tiff 8 and sRGG; 300dpi and medium size.
It used to work however I simply cannot figure out the problem. I can export to desktop and move them that way but extra steps and unnecessary. Any help great appreciated.

Since I don't use Outlook as Mail client, I don't know, if the Mavericks Update to Mavericks 10.9.2 fixed this. But it cannot hurt to update, since this update included bug fixes.

How do I export or share slo-mo video

Does anyone know how to export or share the new slo-mo video on an iphone5s? Every time I try to email or text, it reverts to normal speed. I tried opning it in imovie for ios, with the same results.

That's weird. 10.0.6 has this same share path / feature. It is on the far right hand side. (In fact, my image IS from 10.0.6)

You can fit the timeline to fill the screen by hitting SHIFT + Z.
You can adjust the clip appearance by clicking on this icon in the lower left:

When I edit videos in PS and export/render the video some of them will NOT play on mobile devices (using YouTube). I export the video using the same settings and upload them to YouTube using the same settings. Any help would be appreciated. I’m using PS CS6 Version 13.0 x64. Thanks.

Help! My final cut pro won't export or share

My final cut pro won't export or share just keeps saying 'The operation could not be completed. (com.apple.compressor.compressorkit.errordomain error -1)

Is App Nap disabled for FCP X? In finder, select FCP X, get info, uncheck the app nap box.
We need to knwo alot more in order to be abvle to help you - What ver. FCP X? What ver. OS X? Your hardware?

Cannot export nfs-share over ipv6 in OS X 10.8

I've successfully exported my nfs share over ipv4 and can access this with a nfs-client from a linux machine. However, I'm not able to export the same share over ipv6.
In my /etc/exports I have:
/Volumes/Harddisk
-network 10.0.0.0
-mask 255.255.255.0
/Volumes/Harddisk
-network fd60:760d:98ec:8588::/64
However, from the linux client I can only mount the ipv4 share, but not the ipv6 share.
Is it possible to export nfs-shares over ipv6 in OS X 10.8?

I would suggest testing a connection from a second Mac also running 10.8 via IPv6. At least then you know both will be using compatible versions. If that does not work then it would seem to be an IPv6 issue on the Mac server.

Final Cut X render/share

I was trying to share a 1.05 min video. It was taking an entire day to render, so I stopped it. Now it won't share at all! Any suggestions?

Trash preferences with this app. fron Digital Rebellion.
Turn off Backround Rendering.
Delete Project Render files from within FCP (under File after project is selected in library).
Create a new project. Copy the problem project. Paste the problem project into the new project.
Do a range selection of a short section and seee whether it will export as a master file.
