Export report links missing on Dashboard

All,
I've built a dashboard in 11g with one page and links to numerous reports. I need several of the reports to have the "Export" link on the page; however, I only have two choices (Return and Create Bookmark).
I've tweaked the Dashboard properties > Dashboard Report Link section numerous times and nothing works. I've also tried to inherit settings & customize settings under the Page Report Link section. Any other ideas? Is there something I need to do to the reports themselves, or should I be able to control the export function through the Dashboard?
Thx

No - this did not work. Under the properties (xyz) for the reports, there is not even a "report links" option? The only spot I've seen to select these choices are under the Dashboard page properties and dashboard page report links which neither one worked.
Under the Dashboard editor, I dragged the Link or Image object to the Dashboard page. Then, I went to properties and uploaded the report I wanted. Is there a different way to upload a report? It has to be in a link format.

  • Historical Reports Link Missing in Admin Console Menu

    Hi,
We have a weird situation in a new installation. In Admin Console Menu Historical Reports Link does not appear. I have checked WIN table, it seems ok, there is a row for Historical Report, also all records about historical reports inside xlWebAdmin.properties and xlDefaultAdmin.properties files are there.
Any ideas why this link happens to be missing?

    Hi,
I'd bid that the audit module is not installed then. At least in UPA_USR you'd see the row that belongs to the XELSYSADM user. I don't know if you can manually enable it someway.
If you have any free dev machine (or in a VM), I'd advice you to make a fresh install of OIM without the audit module, and see if the resulting system seems to your actual one. Installing in a XP environment under JBOSS won't take you more than 30 minutes.

  • Create Travel Expense Report link missing in ESS

    Hello Gurus,
I am unable to see the Create Travel Expense Report link in the ESS Travel & Management tab. I have modified SPRO and details are as below:
    1) In SPRO, I have copied the standard Resource (EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSES_SRV05) and Service (EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSEREPORT05) as new Resource (Z_EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSES_SRV05) and Service (Z_EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSEREPORT05).
    2) I have changed the URL Parameter in Z_EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_EXPENSES_SRV05.
    3) Later I have deleted the new "Z" Resource and Service that I have created in the SPRO, so that I wanted to default back to the standard.
After deleting the "Z" Resource and Service in SPRO, I am not able to see the "Create Travel Expense Report" link from the Travel and Expenses area page in portal. Though I was able to execute the iView directly from the Portal PCD.
Did any one got similar kind of problem ????
Could you please reply with your suggestion or advise how you have fixed this problem.
    Thanks for any help.
    Ram.

    Hi Bharathwaj,
    Thanks for your helpful answer.
I have checked the Area Page EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_ERP2005, but I don't see any entry for services.
It has Area Link Text, Picture Resource, Area Link Type and Link Resource only....
Can you suggest if I have to see any other setting ??
    Thanks for your help.

  • Report links from one dashboard(report) to another dashboard with prompt

There are two dashboards ‘Chart’ and ‘Transaction details’ . I am trying to link from one report(dashboard called 'Chart') to another dashboard(Transaction details).
In first dashboard (screenshot 1) there is a column called ‘Day’ which is like date., I have set the navigate properties and pointed out the second dashboard as the target ( screenshot3).
In the second dashboard (screenshot 2) , the request has an prompt on the date column.
Requirement, Once I click on particular value on ‘Day’ column in first dashboard, it has redirect to the second dashboard. Having said that, it is not only enough to navigate but also pass the value as a parameter to the second dashboard.
Currently, it is successfully navigating to the second dashboard, but not passing the parameter. Is there any particular step that I have take care here.
By the way, the column which has prompt has be defined as ‘as prompted’ in its report.
    Any inputs, ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards

For some reason, I couldn't able to upload the screenshots that I took now in oracle forums.

    Hi Saicand,
Thanks for you reply. What should I need to check at fx section of the column. Do you mean that the format of the date format should be the same for both the reports.

  • Interactive report Export report link

I understand normally reports export to .CSV files & assume the name of the Report Region.
I see where in the interactive report - Report attributes - Report Export section you can specify a Fixed name for the report.
    MY QUESTION:
Since my BOM report is based on a variable Part Number, can I have the variable become the name of my export.
Example I run a query for a 1234 p/n, can my report then download as 1234_BOM.csv
    Thanks,
    bob

    Hi,
Set application or page item value to name you like have to your CSV file.
Then Interactive Report Attributes set Filename to your item name like
    &Px_MY_ITEM.Regards,

  • OBIEE 11g : Tool tip on a report link

    Hello All,
Is it possible to add a mouse over tool tip to a report link on a dashboard page (not on column heading) ?
The dashboard currently has descriptions for the report links to see what is the report usage and it is eating up a lot of space , the idea is to eliminate this notes section and provide information to the user so as to what the report is as a tool tip.
I have seen OTN threads on tool tips on to reports and column headers but I would like to just specifically add the mouse over pop-up to a report link that exists on a dashboard page.
    Any suggestions , please advice.
    Thanks,
    -VS

There is a way using JavaScript, right now I dont have code to share with you.
Assuming your report name is "Summary Report", using JavaScript search for this "Summary Report" on dashboard and apply CSS script something like mouseover.
You may get code in pieces on net, try it out.
I too try to help you with code but take some time ;)

  • Assign 'Report Links - download'  permissions to users.

    Hi,
Would like to know, the work around to set user base permission to download option under 'Report Links' in BISE1 Dashboard?
    The exact path is :
Dashboard -> Page Options -> Edit dashboard -> Report Properties -> Report Links -> download.
    Thanks
    sunil

    Mayank,
Its very much possible to give the read permission to a folder for a particular user. Here is the procedure.
Login to Portal as an admin user
Goto content admin -> navigate to you folder which you need to set read permission
Right click on the folder -> open -> choose permissions
Search for the user and add
Choose the read option from the drop down menu
    Save

  • Report Links in OBIEE 11g Dashboard not displayed correctly

In the Dashboard pages the Report Links for Export are not displayed correctly .
Instead of showing the multiple options for export/download it shows just text.

It can be done by doing below steps.
    1) before doing this take a backup of instanconfig.xml file and do the below changes...
You can configure various options that change the way that right-click interactions are handled in views for an analysis at runtime. The elements in the instanceconfig.xml file specify the default settings for a new or upgraded analysis. You can edit the properties of an analysis in Presentation Services to modify how the analysis handles right-click interactions in views.
Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the information in Section 3.4, "Using a Text Editor to Update Configuration Settings."
To manually configure for interactions in views:
    2) C:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\instanceconfig.xml
Open the instanceconfig.xml file for editing,
    3)
Locate the sections in which you must add the elements
Include the elements and their ancestor elements as appropriate, as shown in the following example:
    <ServerInstance>
    <Analysis>
    <InteractionProperties>
    <InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>false</InteractionPropertyAddRemoveValues>
    <InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>false</InteractionPropertyCalcItemOperations>
    <InteractionPropertyDrill>false</InteractionPropertyDrill>
    <InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>false</InteractionPropertyGroupOperations>
    <InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>false</InteractionPropertyInclExclColumns>
    <InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>false</InteractionPropertyMoveColumns>
    <InteractionPropertyRunningSum>false</InteractionPropertyRunningSum>
    <InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>false</InteractionPropertyShowHideSubTotal>
    <InteractionPropertySortColumns>false</InteractionPropertySortColumns>
    </InteractionProperties>
    </Analysis>
    </ServerInstance>
    4) Save your changes and close the file.
    5)
    Restart Oracle Business Intelligence.
Mark as correct if it is helpful :)
    Thanks.

  • Reports as links in the Dashboards

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where I need to arrange the reports that are on the Dashboard as a link. For example I have 3 reports like this.
Sales Report Invoice Report Purchase Order Report.
Now I want to arrange these 3 reports on the Dashboard as Links
    Sales Report
    Invoice Report
    Purchase Order Report
Let’s say when the user click on the Sales Report link it should show the complete report with the prompts. Is there any way to do that in Dashboards. Please Help.
    Thank You

If you want reports as link in dashboard then drag report to dashboard and go to its peroperties.Select Link in a dashboard option. You can add all the reports in dashboard and choose this option. This will make reports to appear as links.
If you select any value from prompt and click on go button that prompt values will be applied as filters to these reports.

  • ESS - Create Expense Report Link is missing for few users

    Hi,
We are on ECC 6.0 Ehp 3 with EP 7.0.
We are using the ESS and in that Standard SAP provided Travel and Expenses Module.
For few of the users, the Create Expense Report  link is missing eventhough the user is assigned with the  Traveller Role
    SAP_FI_TV_TRAVELER
Request you to let me know if any setting needs to be done in the back end/infotype to make the Create Expense Report link visible in the portal.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sekar

    Hello,
Same happened on our side.  User is already set with the proper roles, with the correct info types but when logging in the Portal- she, too, could not view the link for Create Expense Report (which is supposed to Create an expense report for a trip without a travel plan).
When i use my userid, and just switch personnel number to her number, I could create an expense report on her behalf.
That made me conclude that her traveller roles are fine.
    Pls help.

    Hi David,

But if the OP then said, "But I have 300 reports!" Well, that extra parameter would change the answer. But if he doesn't explain exactly what the conditions are, he may not get the best answer. • Download/Copy/Print Report Links

    Hi,
I have set up a link to a report(briefing book navigation) in a dashboard, when I click on the link to the report it opens up in a new window. However the download/copy/print options are missing in the report.
I checked the original saved report and see these options available there but these do no show up when opening the report from the dashboard.
Can anyone suggest why this maybe the case?
    Thanks

    Hi Srikanth,
I am actually watching this thread looks which is very interesting and i too tried the same.
    1. If we use the briefing book link we get the return and add the briefing book link option, when we do this as you explained then we will not be able to get the return link to return to the original place.
Sorry if i was wrong....please correct me.
    2. if we use this in this way then whats the diff between the guided navigation link and Briefing book link in the dashboard objects to navigate from one page to another.
Iam new to OBIEE so, very interested to know more about each concept.
Could you please calrify little more?
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Role based Report Links

    Hi All,
I have created three roles A,B,C and some reports.
How can I restrict report links as
Role A- Analyze, Edit, Refresh, Print, Export, Add to Briefing Book, Copy
Role B- Analyze, Refresh, Export, Add to Briefing Book
    Role C- Analyze, Refresh
Help me as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Haree

    Hi,
create three different sections for these reports in dashboard edit. now
provide access to section 1 for Role A
provide access to section 2 for Role B
provide access to section 3 for Role C
provide respective previlleges as per your req in admin manage previlleges and also in properties of report in dashboard section.
so each Role C user can only see section 3 in dashboard and he will have only access to Analyze, Refresh
    got it?
    Thanks
