Export/Save as m4a?

I have version 1.0 ----- is there no way to export or save a worked filed as an m4a for use in iTunes?
Right now I work the file, export as AIFF, open in QT and save as mp4.

Thank you for your patience - obviously, I am a novice trying to learn this software and using an old version. I do appreciate your help.
I did as you outlined; I guess the fact is that to get pops and clicks off the track you have to open the audio file project first, then save the file and re-open it multi-track, or vice versa. Mainly, I am interested in deleting dead air off the front and back of the tracks and then getting the crackles out of my recorded files. But previously, the exported file was huge - 20-40MB instead of the typical 2-4MB files in iTunes. I think I'm good now.

hi all,
i've created a page that looks similar to a resume format. i used different pl/sql regions and used the htp.p package to create the page like in html format. now i need to have an option to export / save the page as rdf or doc or rtf format. is it possible to do this?

Maybe that can inspire you for you needs. I don't think pdf-export is possible this way though.

Export/Save/Save As.. to current location

Sometimes when using an application to export, or save a file, the save location defaults to some random location; maybe documents, or a previously saved to folder. Is there a quick way (button) in the export/save window that will set the location to the location the file was opened from, or where it currently exists?

If you use "Save" the item will be saved in the place the original is. It will overwrite the original, of course.
"Save As" on my machines reverts to the last place a "Save As" location was selected.
How would it know where you want to save it to? The best guess is the same place you last saved something. I have hundreds of locations on my computers where I save things. I don't see how the "Save As" function could know where I want it.
A complicated algorithm might be able to determine the location based on the file type and the number of times a similar file has been saved in a particular place but it would not be perfect because sometimes I save a .txt in a picture directory, etc.
Maybe this only occurs when using the Export option. Occasionally when opening an existing file, and using Export, neither the default save location, nor the recent save locations are the source file's location. So you must click through to it's location. A simple button that selects the open file's (source) location would be sufficient.

How to export/save settings for Authentication?

Hello all,
what is the best way to export/save settings for Authentication and 'core settings' of authentication using ssoadm?
I want to save all settings from:
(Top Level Realm) -> Authentication [ in web gui console].
Also all settings from 'All Core Settings'. Is there a way to do that from command line?

In Numbers 08, I used to be able to export a single page to a PDF. Now it seems as though my only option is to export the entire document to the PDF (Share > Export...). Am I missing the option or did they remove it from us?

In the PS Touch project selection UI, browse to the project(s) you want to export. Tap the "share" icon (5th icon from the top right) > Save to Camera Roll. Choose a file format and confirm by tapping OK.

Export Save / Open dialog box appears behind disco screen

Hi all
Disco 10g Plus, excel, latest Sun java 6.16 jvm
We have an annoying but strange issue with exporting.
A user opens and runs a report ok.
Withing Disco 10 plus they then click on either file-Export-excel or click on the Export Excel icon on disco plus toolbar
Either way the export happens and a dialog box appears with blue progress bar and then this disappears.
And then nothing appears to happen.
However, something actually has happened, behind the disco 10 window the 'File Download' dialog box with 'Do you wish to open or save this file?' appears. Clicking on save saves it to PC and clicking open opens it in Excel which is fine.
I am not sure of this box belongs to excel or internet explorer but does anyone know of any way to have this dialog box appear IN FRONT of the current disco plus window as some of our users think that disco has 'frozen' and thus log support calls.

I have heard of folks complaining that exports to Excel hang. I have not had any feedback to say that the dialog box is actually open behind the scenes. This is very interesting news and thanks for reporting it. I will certainly look for this in the future and see if I can find a pattern.
If I may ask, what exact version of Discoverer are you on and what cumulative patch level have you implemented?
Also, what browser are you using and have you tried this in another one?
Have you tried deinstalling Java 6.16 and tested with an older one like 6.11 which I have seen working very well?
As much extra information as you can provide will definitely help and could trigger an idea from someone reading.

How can I export/save my iphoto'11 photo book pages as actual images of the pages (jpeg), not PDF?

I have 'printed' the book as a PDF, but would like to get a jpeg version of each actual page (not the individual photos). So far, I have tried 'exporting', but that gives me each pic individually, sharing-same thing.
My goal is to upload the finished pages onto a family website.
Any suggestions?

Open the PDF file in Preview and start a Print job. In the Print window click on the PDF button and then in the resulting menu select Save PDF to iPhoto. That will create a jpg version of each page and import it into an album of your choosing in iPhoto.

Note: As soon as the book has been processed into iPhoto select all of the pages and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to Text menu option to rename the pages as "Page " with the option to include a sequential number at the end. That's because the jpgs that are created have really crazy file names which will make it difficult to get in order if they ever get out of order.

Can I fill in PDF forms and export / save as un-editable file?

I have a client for whom I am creating an invoice template. I created the file in InDesign and have exported as a PDF.
Working with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.4 on Mac 10.6.8, I have managed to add text fields for my client to fill in with job-specific information. (Job number, item / descriptions / costs and so on).
Is there a way that he/she can fill in job specifics, and then save or export the file so that when opened by their client, it appears as UN-editable?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you can flatten the form, which converts the field appearances (and any other annotations) to regular page contents. Here's a link to a free JavaScript-based tool that you can use: UVSAR : Selective Flattener tool for Adobe Acrobat 8, 9 and X
The basic JavaScript statement is:

For invoices, I created an automation tool that adds certain metadata to the invoice (e.g., invoice #, date, total amount), flattens certain fields, and adds a certification digital signature. the original field values are copied to fields on a hidden template so that it is readily available if it's ever needed.

Time to export/save one D2X NEF to JPG Aperture vs. Bridge/ACR

15" PB, 1.5 Ghz, 1.5 GB RAM, running Firefox, Entourage, while each app is running test.
Single D2X NEF in an Aperture project:
-No sharpening applied, export to JPG 11 seconds
-Any sharpening applied, export to JPG 29 seconds
Single D2X in a folder in Bridge, open in ACR
under Bridge:
-Any sharpening or not, save to JPG 15 Seconds
Note, while Aperture exports, the entire app is tied up. Bridge does the saving in the background, which allows you to continue working in Bridge/CS2

I have not run that test, but I did do Aperture batch versus CS(1) batch...
Basically, when I'm batching from CS RAW -> JPEG, my dual G5 turns 12 images per minute. When I "export" from Aperture (which might as well be a "batch," it's doing the same function), I get a little over 13 images per minute.
Frankly, I almost never sharpen when coming from RAW. I prefer to make a highly selective sharpening pass later after going to JPEG, sharpening only those that need it the most. I'm not a big believer in sharpening, due to fact that I have no control over how image will be resized, and sharpening prior to a significant resizing is pointless in my experience... and despite all the talk about how digital images are soft compared to film (due to the built-in sensor filter) I don't really buy that. I don't remember film being so dang sharp.... with the L series glass I'm using and 8.2 megapixels, this stuff looks as freakin' sharp as 35mm film ever did to me... now I will concede that medium format film has a certain sharpness advantage, but 35mm??? Maybe Kodachrome on a tripod, but probably not an ISO 400 print film hand held at a wedding reception... I digress.
Now I'm going to go run your sharpness test to see what I can see, seeing as how I finally upgraded to CS2 this week.

Qucktime X - export - save as options

I am getting accustomed to Quicktime x after upgrading to snow leopard. I have noticed that rather than "export" qt x uses the menu item "save as". I have a point and shoot camera that shoots videos in .AVI which are very large and I have been compressing them with H264. I want to maintain the best quality while reducing file size. In the past, QT pro I used the preset setting for Apple TV to ensure it was going to keep a very high level of quality in the compression process.
When using the save as feature in QT X there should be options under format for Movie, Computer, iPhone, iPhone Cellular, Apple TV, Computer, HD 480p, HD 720p, HD 1080p. There is no security setting that locks out save/save as.
Save is greyed out when a file has not yet been changed, so that is normal. Save AS should not be greyed out at all. Don't know why that should happen.

Export/Save as High-Res Jpeg

Is there a way to export a document @ a different resolution than 72DPI? I know I can set the horizontal/vertical scale to save it at a larger dimension at 72DPI, but I need the file to be actual size and 300DPI.
This is part of a larger process, and I'd prefer to do the entire process from Illustrator, and not have to open the files in Photoshop to change the size/resolution.
Also, is it possible to change the color mode to CMYK or Greyscale for the exported Jpeg?

Thanks again, I checked the Javascript reference for CS6, and don't see any 'app.system' method listed, and I get 'app.system is not a function' when I try test it. That sounds like it would do what I wanted if available. I could probably add a call to run it from Bridge into my script, but one of my goals is to not run any additional applications if possible.
The main application is written in XOJO (formerly RealStudio), and is a very large program which handles a lot of aspects of project management for my position. This particular function was originally written as a separate Javascript to save out barcodes from a supplier's illustrator file. It has expanded and been incorporated into the application so it now stores the saved barcodes (EPS) into a database, as well as does some other processing after the files are saved. I am currently trying to add a high-res jpeg into the database as well, and would prefer to do so when the original EPS files are saved. Another part of the application can create the jpegs from Photoshop, but I'd prefer to do everything from within Illustrator.
I've got it mostly working for now, just have to deal with an issue with the file paths returned from the jpegs not being recognized properly.

I am working on getting the content of a Canvas i.e. the children arranged on Canvas as nodes and edges of a dependency graph representing certain relationship. I want to export or "Save As..." image format. I achieved it successfully, with some
trial and error, as it was first time for me to write such functionality. However, I have encountered couple of issues; I am using RenderTargetBitmap
with dpix and dpiy as 256.
Issues:
The image shrinks on render as image with PixelFormats.Pbgra32;
though it scales well in windows image viewer.
If I try to obtain bounds as Rect bounds = VisualTreeHelper.GetDescendantBounds(content);
and utilize the width and height in RenderTargetBitmap to avoid clipping of image; with certain multiplier - I get system out of memory exception; the multiplier is around 2.67; any value greater than 3 runs into exceptions.
Please provide me any reference or any other way of achieving the export.

Aperture, date and export/save on a HD

Hi all !
I'm starting to get used to Aperture, but i can't do something i'd like to...
I want to shoot in RAW, adjust pictures on Aperture and then export them on my HD as a .jpg (cause it takes less space) to save them. The thing is that when i export them, it changed time and date of the originals (which is logic in a certain way...) but i want to keep an idea of when i took those pictures...
I don't know if i was clear enough but do you have any ideas ??

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image files.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export. However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

Trying to export / save Pages1 document to HTML.

Are there any new ways round the difficulties of exporting pages documents as HTML documents? I have Pages 1 and do not want to spend 80 dollars on Pages 2 and after that another 80 dollars on Pages 3.
Will Apple come out with a fix for users with Pages 1 or is there already a fix / best method for exporting Pages 1 documents as HTML documents?

Consider using Keynote instead. It offers more options to export files (File - Export) containing audio and video objects. The extent to which such content will play in the target file format depends. Play around with the different export options and see which is best.
I tried just now in Pages to insert audio (mp3) and video (3gpp - the only format I have that's got small file sizes) and then export but it doesn't work.
Pages does give the option to save media with the file provided one saves - not exports - the file, but that helps little since the resulting file format will be .pages which is not very portable.
