Excel Export Fails in Windows 2003 Server
In my development environment, I am deploying an classic ASP web site on a Windows 2003 server (sp2).
It is exporting the crystal reports to excel.
In my UAT environment, I am deploying the same ASP web site on a windows 2003 server (sp2) R2. (Release 2).
However, it is failing while exporting the crystal reports to excel.
Both development and UAT Site is using Crystal reports XI.
The other difference between development and UAT environment is ,
Development environment is installed with MsOffice 2000 whereas NO MsOffice is installed in UAT Enviornment.
CODE: (Failing at the last line Session("oRpt").Export false )
Set crystalExportOptions = Session("oRpt").ExportOptions
crystalExportOptions.DiskFileName = application("RptEmailPath") & FileName
crystalExportOptions.DiskFileName = crystalExportOptions.DiskFileName & ".xls"
crystalExportOptions.FormatType = 21
crystalExportOptions.DestinationType = cint(1)
Session("oRpt").Export false
Please help me to sort out the issue.Hi,
This is issue was getting resolved after installing Crystal Report Service Pack II.
Go to
Start --> Programs -> Business Objects --> Crystal Reports Server --> Central Configuration Manager
The version number in this window clearly shows which version of the service pack has been installed in a system.
If it is 11.5.8.826 means system is installed with Crystal Report Service pack II.
Thanks,

Export to pdf, on Windows 2003 Server
Post Author: deadfish
CA Forum: Exporting
Hi,
I have an ASP application which allow users to print their reports in pdf format. Everything works fine when it is on Windows 2000. Problem comes out when the application is moved to Windows 2003 Server. When some users is accessing the pdf version of report, other users cannot modify the database that the report related to. When I open the mdb (I am using MS Access) file, it saids it is read-only. But if I just preview the report(using the designer), it does not lock the mdb file. There is no such lock on WIndows 2000.
How to get rid of this problem? It is neccessary to keep other users to modify the table while some user is viewing their report.
Thanks in advance!Does not seem like a Crystal reports error.
Apply [SP 2 on CR for VS 2010|http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_2.exe].
Take a look at the SAP Note

Installing problem on Windows 2003 Server 64 bit
Dear All,
I'am trying to install XE onto a Windows 2003 Server 64 bit.. The installation process ends without any errors but the database itself seems not to start.
I tried several hints that have been mentioned here within the forum. But none of them worked. While experimenting I saw that there is not a single registry entry of Oracle within HKEY_LOCAL_MASCHINE\Software .
Is there a possiblity to set those needed registry entries manually? Is there a script for that purpose?
Thank you very much for your help!
Regards
MatthiasHi,
thank you for your reply. As 32bit programs should run under Windows 64bit I thought the XE should run under 64bit, too.
The installation of XE itself seems to finish without any errors. But within the log files it can be read that the database has not started up due to a out of memory problem. This causes many log entries within all other logfiles as no database could be created.
The out of memory problem might be the same as within Advice on running XE on a small virtual Linux host ("Virtuozzo") because I am using a virtual windows 2003 server with "Virtuozzo", too.
At this time I am on discussing the issue with the provider. Maybe I will get a dedicated server with Windows Server 2003 64bit. Hopefully the XE could be installed on the 64bit Windows Server because 32bit dedicated servers are rare.
Best regards

Install 10.2 Grid Control on Windows 2003 Server - Always erorr on Agent
I have a Windows 2003 Server in a Domain and have tried to install several times OEM Grid Control 10g (B30800-01), but every time the last step (Agent Configuration Assistant) prints "Failed" on the OUI-Screen. I checked the log on the directory "cfgtoollogs\cfgfw", but for a beginner it is a little bit difficult to find the key for the error. Somoebody has a minute left to look at it, please? (It's only the last part of the file CfmLogger). Everything else worked fine for the Installation.
Thank's a lot.

11.5.10.2 Installation on windows 2003 server Cygwin Software.
Hi
I used Cygwin instead of Mks tool kit in apps 11i(11.5.10.2) on windows 2003 server. Installation is completed succefully. I am able to open the forms without error. But while patching I am facing problem. for testing the Cygwin implementation I tried to relink FND programs. I got the error the error message is as follows.
set EnvAdrelink:Error:Cannot Open registry key: \SOFTWARE\ORACLE
aiosp2() Error: failure in usdspn()
contents of error buffer are:
"usdsop cannot create a new process
cause: usdsop encountered an error creating a new process. [Reason].
Can anybody help me the process.
Regards,
chennus.

Now I format the system and Installed fresh application 11i(11.5.10.2) on windows 2003 EE.Now I select the prerequest software as visualstudio 2008 Express Edition and VC++6.0 redistributable package x86 (Doc ID 1095124.1), Mks toolkit I used 8.1 version and Gnumake I used 3.78.1(Doc ID 268776.1). The Installation is completed Successfully. The application is working fine. While i want to test the adrelink using adadmin I got the following error. adrelink is completed with status 1 and it is completely exit ( Not finished the script and come to command prompt) Here i am enclosing the adrelink log file.

We had to install oracle 9.2.0.5 32 bit ,since there is no oracle
realease for oracle 9i 64 bit ,on OS windows 2003 server X_86 64 bit, after doing this when we go ahead kenel 32 bit, we faced error during database creation phase of the NW java installation. The error logs are
as follows,

CJS-00084 SQL statement or script failed. DIAGNOSIS: Error message:
ORA-12546: TNS:permission denied
plz respond asaphi sm,
this seems to be an issue with the rights of the user and the DB install. check is the TNS is up and running and that the SIDADM has fill access to it. Also , have you checked the latest PAM. why are you trying to implement EP6 right now? I would suggest to go for EP7.0

Oracle 9i on Windows 2003 server - DBCA error
1. This is the error message that I get when I am trying to install the 9.2.0.3 software in a new oracle home. There is a 10g database which sits in a different Oracle home. The OUI runs smoothly until it comes to the point where the Database Config Assistant tool starts running and then I get this error and the installer hangs. Could anyone let me know why I might be getting this error.

Exception in thread "main"
FYI - I have installed the OUI patch Oracle Universal Installer release 2.2.0.18.0 for Windows and the Oracle9i Database Release 2 (9.2.0.3.0) Patch Set for Windows after I installed the 9.2.0.1 database software.
I then tried to run the DBCA tool from the 'Start > Programs>Oracle 9ihome>' menu to create the new Oracle 9.2.0.3 database but the DBCA assistant would not start up.
2. I have a related question:
Has anybody performed a downgrade of Oracle 10g database to Oracle 9.2.0.3 database using export/import?
Can you perform a full database export of the Oracle 10g database using the 9.2.0.3 export utility and then perform a full database import into Oracle 10g? I have read some documentation that states this is not possible. Can anyone verify or confirm how they did this migration? So is the only option then to perform a table or user level export?
Also, if both the databases reside on the same Windows 2003 server box, how can you ensure that the source database files are not overwritten?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Vishal. It only happens when you have oracle 10g and Oracle 9i on the same machine.
You can run 9i dbca successfully, if you rename the 10g "orasrvm.DLL" found in any 10g BIN directory. Rename it back after you are 9i dbca is complete.
Please complete details for this issue see
http://orafaq.net/maillist/oracle-l/2004/10/08/0335.htm
Thanks

Here is how I set it up:
go to Control Panel>Scheduled Tasks>Add Scheduled Task, find rman_backup.bat, choose the run time and finish it. When asking for user name and password, I supply the user which is in oracle dba group.
But when it run, it just produced the above error and won't run.

Query very slow on Windows 2003 Server
Hi,
Our customer is running 10g on Windows 2003 server. Some queries perform badly. I imported the data into a 10g DB on Linux (at our office) to analyze and test. Strange enough the same query takes more than 10 times longer to run on the Windows machine compared to the Linux. The Windows machine is dedicated to Oracle, it is not 'overloaded'.

Must be very simple. Although, I do not where else to check.
A java application allows opening the OS shell and executing programs. For Windows
(without further details) a "cmd /c" prefix is recomended in the config file. None
for Linux.
The application runs the shell from a path relative to its configurations file,
for which I have defined "../scripts".
Thus a .wsf script located at MyAppPath\scripts can be executed as "Cscript //NoLogo MyScript.wsf". It works OK under XP Profesional, Version 2002, Service Pack3, jre1.6.0_07, JAVA_HOME defined. The application log reports a proper application start up using Java VM 10.0b-23. and execute the shell as many times as called without any problem.
The applications works also fine for every aspect on Windows 2003 server 5.2, except for calling the os Shell. The following error is displayed:
Cannot run program "cmd /c Cscript //NoLogo Myscript.wsf" (in directory C:\MyAppPath\script"): CreateProcess error=2 the system can not find the file specified.
Of course, the file "Myscript.wsf" is there...
In both cases (XP and 2003), CompSpec is set to %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe and PATHEXT inlcudes ".WSF".
Any help will be most appreciated.I have no experience with cscript, but by typing cscript in a command prompt i get:

Usage: CScript scriptname.extension [option...] [arguments...]

VPN client using CLI on windows 2003 server
Hello, first time poster here. Have an interesting issue I'm hoping to find help with.
I'm using the VPN client (I have version 4.8.01.0300) in CLI mode (called from a script) to connect to a remote site. Got the connection setup and all working fine except for one small detail. Hopefully I can explain this well...
I want this connection to run fully unattended as it will run numerous times per day, every day. The issue is the little pop-up message saying "VPN has disconnected".
When I first setup the connection, it was on windows XP and everything was golden. I could issue the command : vpnclient connect <name> user <userid> pwd <passwd> sd, <other stuff>, vpnclient disconnect and all worked as expected.
Then I installed same stuff on Windows 2003 server. Issuing same connect command gives error: "user authentication failed". Then I discovered that if I first launched the vpn client GUI then the CLI command, it would connect without error - but then the "disconnected" pop-up window came along.
So - can I either:
- Run vpn client in CLI mode without the GUI running.
- Suppress the pop-up.
Thanks in advance.
ScottHi,
Thank you for the post.
Please try register MSI installer or clean boot your system to install FEP client.
Registered MSI Installer following the steps below:
1.Run "cmd"--Browse to the "%systemroot%\system32" directory and execute: "msiexec /regserver"
2.Change directories to "%systemroot%\SysWow64" and execute: "msiexec /regserver"

Dscc6 initialize error in windows 2003 server
I installed DS 6 in windows 2003 Server.
I do
1) dsccsetup.exe initialize
and I get this error
## Failed to run C:/JavaES5/share/cacao_2/bin/cacaoadm.bat list-modules -r
#### The system cannot find the path specified.
## Exit code is 1
When I open cacaoadm.bat file I see
an entry
#BASE#\\lib/private/perl\\bin\\perl -I #BASE#\\lib/private/perl\\site\\lib #BASE#/lib/tools/scripts/cacaoadm.pl %*
I am not sure what is that #BASE# variable and why was it not replaced at installation time or I don't know how and when it get replaced.
any help is highly appreciated. It works now . I replaced the #BASE# with the actual path ie C:\JavaES5\share\cacao_2 , I also had to set the %PERL5LIB% variable to point to the perl directories that came with ds6 installation. cacaoadm.bat was using this variable to locate the perl scripts, which was poitning to a oracle installation which had different perl script version.
After doing all these I was able to run "dsccsetup initialize" so that completed my installation and configuration. But to my surprise when I accessed the java management console through https:\\localhost:6789
it asked me the user id and passwd, I gave mine as I was the administrator of the system , but it doesn't let me in.
I am really disappointed now that after reaching so far I can't access and manage the directory server through a console. Please help me...I am using Windows 2003 server. Please let me know what user id and passwd shd I use.
