Export selection

Is there a procedure for exporting the outline of a selection from one copy of an image to another copy of the same image. I want to export only the size and shape information, not the content of the selection.

In motion this was very easy by using the markers.
Mark the in and out points on the timeline - on the timeline then press I key for In and O key for Out then export (File->Export) or send to Compressor if you like

Hi, I am having a little trouble with exporting images to another drive and Catalogue and need some help if anyone can give me some advice
I am currently using Lightroom 5.6 and operating on a Mac with OSX Ver 10.9.5.
I am receiving an error problem when doing the following -
I am exporting selected photos from a particular Catalogue saved on Drive 1 to a folder created on another Drive where a Lightroom Catalogue has been created. In this Catalogue I have arranged for the images once exported to be moved to a different folder - I used the Auto Import process under the File dialogue box.
When processing the Export I receive an error message for each of the images being exported indicating the following -
    Heading Import Results
Some import operations were not performed
Could not move a file to requested location. (1)
then a description of the image with file name
    Box Save As                                  Box  OK
If I click the OK button to each image I can then go to the other Catalogue and all images are then transferred to the file as required.
To click the OK button each time is time consuming, possibly I have missed an action or maybe you can advise an alternative method to save the time in actioning this process.
Thanks if you can can help out.

Thank You, but this is a gong show. Why is something that is so important to us all so very, very difficult to do?

  • Export selected photos with comments

How does one export selected photos (or an album) in such a way that when someone else imports them (on a different computer), the comments are preserved?
That is, the recipient gets to see in their iPhoto the comments that the originator added in their iPhoto.
I've done some searching in this forum and it kind of looks like there is no way using iPhoto, and that probably the best bet is to use iPhoto Library Manager. Is that right, or have I missed something?
(As an aside to my main question: I think I recall an older version of iPhoto having an option to export selected photos in what was essentially an iPhoto Library structure (not the entire library, just a library of the selected photos), and this structure could be copied to another computer and then imported into the other iPhoto. But I haven't found any such option in iPhoto 08. If I'm correct I'm puzzled, since it seems like a step backwards.)
    Thanks in advance!

    Don:
Use the File->Export->File Export menu option with the options shown below:
You can change the size and quality level as needed. The description as well as the keywords and titles will be included.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Export Selected Text as EPS

    Hi All,
I want export my selection (text) as EPS using InDesign CS4.
Please suggest how it possible to export selection text as eps.
    Thanks,
    Shonky

Do you literally mean you have a textbox with lots of text, you select one single word (for example), and then want to export just this one word?
I can't think of any possible way. What if you select a sentence that runs from the right side of your text frame and wraps to the next line on the left side of that same frame?
If you want to have an EPS containing some text, you might want to copy the text, paste it into a new document, then export that.

  • "Export selection as MIDI file" problem...

Hi, i'm having some trouble when exporting my MIDI tracks to MIDI files. I select File, Export, Export selection as MIDI file and when i listen to the midi file, it's the same rhythm pattern but the instrument is a piano instead of the instrument it was originally.
What the ****'s wrong! am i doing something wrong? I'd be really grateful if someone could solve this for me as i don't have a lot of time, it's for a college assignment!

You're not doing anything wrong......if you are using Quicktime to preview the exported MIDI file the piano is from the Quicktime Synthesizer....

  • [AS CS3] Export JPEG options, setting, export selection

    Hi all,
I am having trouble getting a JPEG export of a selected group of items to adhere to the export options I'm setting. I swear I've done the same thing with PDF export prefs and it works OK.
I need to export a group that is selected, not the whole page, using the options I specify. Every time it's 72 dpi, and probably medium quality.
    thanks a million
PS if the only way is to use javascript I will consider that, but Applescript is best for me.
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
    tell JPEG export preferences
    set resolution to 600
    set JPEG Quality to maximum
set JPEG Rendering style to baseline encoding
    end tell
set myJPEGPrefs to JPEG export preferences
export selection format JPG to "PREPCTRL-10:Users:chris.paveglio:Desktop:test.jpg"
    end tell

    >You can only export whole pages; exporting selections has been broken since
    CS2.
I just ran into this, and I'm a bit confused.
In my testing, it appears that a page item cannot be exported to most of the export formats in that trying to do so will result in the entire page (or possibly it's the spread) being exported. However, I
am able to export a JPEG of a single page item, though setting the JPEG Export Preferences of the application seems to have no effect on the rendered JPEG which is always at 72 ppi and of a quality less than maximum as reported by the OP.
Are these two separate bugs? Is there no way to get the JPEG preferences to "stick"?

  • Export Selection Video Juddery?

Hello, i am very new to motion and i am currently working my way through chapter 2 of my Apple Pro Training book on Motion 3. Very much enjoying the lessons, a few paragraphs i am not quite sure of but i am sure i will get it later. Anyway, i got to a section on 'Baking' which basically frees up your CPU, followed the book which told me to highlight some layers, file export selection, select import into project then done. But the video that was exported back into the project was very juddery, i even went to the desktop to check the quicktime file that was saved & that was juddering all over the shop also. I also deleted the file & started again but the same. Any ideas or am i panicking over nothing. Cheers, Daz

OK, open up the movie in QT Player and export it in h.264 with best settings and then see if that is jittery.
If that is also jittery, it has something to do with the export settings you are using in Motion and I would look at those output settings' FPS.
If it's not jittery, your Animation codec movie's bandwidth is too big for your system and it's only a playback issue, which means you can go ahead and use it in Motion and when you export out your final movie it will be fine. If you can't live with that, bake it again and try a difference codec, like Apple Intermediate or ProRes or see if h.264 at highest settings is good enough.
One of the best ways to bog down Motion is to have layers/objects that are no longer on the screen, but are extended out in the timeline and are underneath the stuff on top. To Motion, that stuff is still there and it gets unresponsive, especially with images that have large dimensions. So make sure you clean up your timeline and trim the duration of each layer and object to only when they are on screen.

  • How to make a "export selection to PNG"?

    Hi everyone,
I really need to export selected objects (or groups) to PNG... and I need it to be fast, i cant waste time exporting to PDF and converting in photoshop.

...and if it is possible, how hard it would be?

  • Exporting selected clips  to MiniDVD

I am unable to export "Selected Clips" from iMovie6 to my MiniDVCamera(CanonZR60). I was able to do so in earlier version of iMovie.

What do you mean by "passthrough to the camcorder mode".
In iMovie preferences there is a setting that puts iMovie to passthrough to camcorder mode.
Passtrough mode means that when you play the video in iMovie, it also appears, through FireWire to an attached camcorder.
I do all my edits in this mode because a camcorder LCD (and an optional TV attached to the camcorder's analog-out) enables me to see the correct overscan, interlacing and gamma, something a computer monitor can't show correctly.
To export a desired range in the movie, do as follows:
    - Optionally insert about 10 seconds of black clips to the beginning and end of the desire range (not necessary but this makes the export tidier). (You can prepare the black clips in iMovie by dragging a clip in timeline mode, double-click the created clip to modify its length or color).
    - Put iMovie to passthrough to camcorder mode. Attach a camcorder via FireWire to the Mac and put the camcorder to VTR mode. Now the iMovie video should appear on the camcorder LCD.
    - To export to the camcorder, put iMovie to playback. Then put the camcorder to VTR Rec mode: you have to do this manually via the camcorder's buttons or via its remote.

  • Export Selected Area | Motion 3

Trying to export a selected area on my canvas only. I have created a 3 screen video intro and need to export each "screen area" separately. Is it possible to select a pixel area to export only?

What problems are you encountering? Either uncheck the layers you don't want and export or use the selection tool to select the object and then export selection.
    Good luck.

  • Exporting selective data

    Hi All,
Is it possible to export selective records from tables while exporting whole schema ?
If I am exporting a whole schema, with exp or expdp, I want to export everything (i.e. structure and data), except few rows from a table based on a "WHERE" clause. Is that possible ?
    I am on Oracle 10.2.
    Thanks in advance

Yea your should be able to.
Check the following - this is for 9i so for 10g it should also be applicable.
    QUERY
    Default: none
This parameter allows you to select a subset of rows from a set of tables when doing a table mode export. The value of the query parameter is a string that contains a WHERE clause for a SQL SELECT statement that will be applied to all tables (or table partitions) listed in the TABLE parameter.
For example, if user scott wants to export only those employees whose job title is SALESMAN and whose salary is less than 1600, he could do the following (this example is UNIX-based):
    exp scott/tiger TABLES=emp QUERY=\"WHERE job=\'SALESMAN\' and sal \<1600\"

    Cheers.

  • Keyframes deleted after exporting selection. Any way to recover?

    Hey folks,
It looks like I may have been burned by the autosave feature. This evening I went into an old flash file to grab some stills that I could pull into an illustrator file via export selection. I didn't remove any frames from the timeline while I was working, but I did notice that the file autosaved a handful of times. When I went back into the file again later to export another graphic, I noticed that a handful of layers had suddenly lost their keyframes. The frames affected were all in graphics. This is a project I'm somewhat far removed from now, so I'm not planning to spend the time to go back and redraw everything that's missing, but it really irks me that this stuff disappeared when I went into the program to do some pretty non-invasive editing.
So my question is, before this gets too far away, is there a way to revert the autosaved file to an earlier version (even imperfectly or incompletely just to find the missing chunks and manually reinsert them into current document). Is there anywhere that missing frames have been known to show up? There's an entry for today in the swf history that says "swf size increased over 50%," in case that is helpful to know.
First time here, so let's hope I'm doing this by the books:
Adobe Flash Professional CS 6, 12.0.0.481
    Windows 7
HP laptop, nothing too fancy here.
    64bit operating system
    6 gb ram
    Intel Core i5-2439M cpu @ 2.4 GHz
    Thanks!

Try right-clicking on the file and select "Properties." See if you have a "Previous Versions" tab. Whether you do depends on how your computer is set up. If that's there, you may be able to recover the file.
For future reference, both Git and SVN allow you to create local repositories, so version control doesn't need to be elaborate.

  • Exporting "Selected Clips" and iDVD Chapter Markers from iMovie

I've tried exporting "selected clips" from iMovie . The iDVD Chapter Markers do not appear as a menu option on the initial iDVD menu screen when "selected clips" is checked in the iMovie Share option. The chapter markers are limited to the clips I'm exporting. The "Share" dialog box seems to indicate that Chapter Markers should export but they don't. // I'm trying to break up a movie that's too long for a DVD (but I will later share to video from iMovie). I'd prefer not to make two iMovie projects out of this. Thanks!

    Hello, John,
    Welcome to the discussions.
You can either do your 'share to video from iMovie' before or after creating your iDVDs. But, you will need to create a second iMovie if yours is too long for one DVD and you are wanting to make 2 DVDs from the one long movie.
To make the second one before sharing the entire movie:
Select the clips you want in the second movie, then go to 'Edit' and 'Copy'.
Then, select 'New' iMovie. When it opens, give it a name like "Part2" and then 'Paste' your selected clips. Save the movie, then go back to the first one. Delete the clips you just copied.
Close iMovie. Open your DVD project. Find the 'Media' tab, go to 'Movies' and drag and drop your first movie into iDVD. Finish the iDVD project. Save and close.
Then, create the second iDVD project for your second movie in the same way.
Do 'save as disk image' for each iDVD project. That way your project is intact for each one, and you will not lose anything when you change the iMovies. You can burn your DVDs from the disk images.
Now, go back to your second iMovie. Select the clips and copy. Close that movie and open the first one. Paste the second set of clips. Now you have your original movie back and can do your share to video from it. Delete the second movie.

  • ExportFile() - export selection option via script?

    Hello,
From InDesign, I can select a group/textFrame/pictureFrame, and then click File -> Export. From this dialog, after I select my "save location," I can then choose to "Export Selection" by selecting the "Selection" radio button.
I'm wondering if this is possible to do with a script? The reason I ask is because I need to export single picture frames (actually, grouped frames, there will be text frames grouped with picture frames). In the SDK I see exportFile() options where you can select if you wish to export as PDF, IDML, JPG, etc. But nothing on "exporting selection". Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how it is done?
I know there is a bool you can set to "true" to display the dialog, but this all needs to be automated. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Lloyd

  • Exporting selected portions in Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud

I recently upgrade from CS3 to now using just Illustrator Creative Cloud version.
