Export size it HUGE

how can i export my movie in less size, i have 7min movie that is coming out as a Quicktime .mov just under a GB. I would like to host it on YouTube so 100MB would be ideal

Use QT Conversion not QT Movie. You will want to play with the settings but h264 should get you there.

When I narrate my keynote presentation, why is the file size so huge?

Here are the steps so you can see all the files that make up your Keynote…
Go to the Finder and find your Keynote file and make sure that it has the .key extension on it. If it doesn't, click it and command i to view info and uncheck the box that says Hide Extension.
Delete the .key and change to .zip and then click the use .zip in the dialog box that comes up
Double click the new .zip file and it will change it to a folder
Open the folder there are the files
Close the folder and add .key to the end of the name and click Add in the dialog box (this will change it back to a Keynote file)
You might be able to do this and convert the voice narration to a smaller format.

  • Problem with export size @ Premiere CS3

Hello, I have a problem that until recently did not bother me so much and that the final export @ the premierCS3 ( also @ CS4 and CS5 )
The films I make are 5-10 minutes long, so usualy the final size is big, but still not THAT BIG! and i can work with this size.
Lately  I've edited a feature film and the final export is 25GB and it simply  intolerable that even after encodings using simple software I got to 7Gb and quality went down significantly.
How do I solve this trouble? I do not think that movie that long (1h:45m) should be bigger than 1GB!!
    Hope you can help me
    Wishing you a good week,
    ROEi.

Go to the PPro FAQ List http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/faq_list and read about export options
A DV AVI file is about 13Gig per hour... export size is determined by the CODEC and compression used, plus the data rate
Some CODECS have better compression than others, and a higher data rate will create a larger file
You need to tell what CODEC you are using for export, and what data rate

  • Export size from aperture to photostream

Is there any way of configuring what size of image is uploaded to the photostream?
As a DSLR user using large RAW files in aperture, when I tested the photostream option it doesn't give you an export size, it seems to copy the full size image over which took an absolute age for 4 images.
If it's going to take that long, it kind of defeats the object of having it in the first place, as I wanted just small versions to be able to view and show people on my iPad.
    Any help would be appreciated.

As I have read from MacCreate.com and as I have tried and tested, Photo Stream on Aperture 3 uploads the native files to iCloud. So if you import RAW only files, it uploads RAW and pushes it to your devices. I imported some RAW photos on my iMac yesterday, when I open up my MacBook this morning it downloaded the same RAW files.
MacCreate suggested though if you import RAW + JPEG into Aperture, it will only upload the JPEG version.

  • Text size is huge

I am currently using Illustrator in a virtual environment for school. The text size is huge, even though my settings are normal.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi Jacob,
I am referring to text size within artwork. I have a blank 10x10 compostition, and when I click on the text tool, then click within the comp to start typing, the type is huge. All of my text settings are normal, and the font is selected as 12pt.
I tried attaching a screen shot of the issue, but it will not let me.

  • Does export size alter aspect ratio?

Hi, I asked a smilar question in the imovie community but thought it would be better here.  Though the nuance of this question is a bit different...
I created a montage of old pictures and video clips in iMovie '11 and need to eventually create a DVD in 4:3 aspect ratio.  I exported the movie in 1080p (1920X1080).
    a few questions:
    1. Does the HD export size matter and will iDVD try to sqeeze the widescreen format into a 4:3 ratio?
    2.  Should I instead export it as large 960X540 to prevent problems when I make the DVD?
    3. How does export size affect the ultimate aspect ratio? ( saw some similar posts but not really what I need to know)
    thanks

Since you're using iMovie 11 use the Share ➙ Media Browser menu option and, yes, select the Large size.
Do not use the Share ➙ iDVD option since that throws away every other line of the movie resulting in a greatly reduced image quality.
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Exported mp3 file size is huge!

Does anyone know how to control the size of an exported song? For a 5 minute track I'm getting a 60Mb MP3!! I'm guessing this is done by setting the a different bit rate for the exported song but can't find any options in Garageband to do this.
With such huge file sizes it makes it difficult to share the song through my website.

No, you're not getting a 60 MB MP3, but a 60 MB AIFF file, and that's the regular size for uncompressed audio files. The bitrate in GB is fixed, and you wouldn't want to change it. Instead, convert the file into an MP3 or AAC in iTunes.
(Come back if you need help with doing that.)

  • SSRS report Excel Export file size is huge

    Hello everyone,
I am facing an issue with SSRS report exporting  to Excel.
Issue : Exported file size is too big.
I have a matrix report ( parametrized report ) it fetches data from multiple table.
    initially when
    1) I select all parameters all values
    2) load the report after that
    3) exporting to excel
so exported file size was about 10 Mb to 12MB
Now, suddenly from this month exported file size is too big around 62 MB for same data,
I checked on different forums and tried the solutions but it didn't worked,
can anyone please suggest me on this.
    My environment is
    Visual studio (BIDS) 2008
    SQL Server 2008 R2
    Excel 2007
    Thanks

    Hi UdayKGR,
According to your description, when you export a report into an excel file, the exported file size is too huge. Now you want to reduce the file size. Right?
In this scenario, do you export the report into excel 2003 file? When reports are first exported and saved to Excel 2003, they do not benefit from the file optimization that Excel automatically applies to its *.xls workbook files. The larger file size can
cause problems for e-mail subscriptions and attachments. To reduce the size of the *.xls files for exported reports, open the *.xls files and then resave the workbooks. Resaving the workbooks typically reduces their file sizes by 40 to 50 percent. Also please
try to install the Reporting Services 2008 R2 Service Pack 2 and reduce the merged columns in exported excel file. For more information, please see the links below:

  • Export to Word file size is huge

Sometime after the end of March, the "Export to Word..." action in Pages has started producing very large file sizes.  The Pages file itself will be 119KB, but after exporting to .doc, it will become 1.5MB.  I have to export Pages files to Word all the time, to submit files to submission systems that have max file sizes, so I've been unable to upload my files, which is obviously a problem (and didn't used to be).
To fix this I have tried... restarting.  I have deleted the Pages plists, restarted.  I have tried exporting on a different computer with the newest version of Pages, which produced the same file size result.  I have copy/pasted the text into a new file, tried again.  Etc, etc.  In the end, I had to borrow a friend's computer to pull the 1.5MB Word export into Microsoft Word itself and resave, to get the expected smaller file size of 47KB.
Please help.  Or, if there is no solution, I'll report as bug to Apple Feedback.  Thanks!

To my knowledge all Pages 5 Exports have been particularly bloated.
Since I have not considered Pages 5 worth using for serious work I can't compare between Pages 5.1 and Pages 5.2 as to whether the problem has actually got worse.
All I know is that Pages 5 files & Exports are massively bigger than Page '09 files & Exports.

  • Can you explain this? Export sizes are way smaller than I want!

I shoot RAW files and I have a bunch of images from my recent vacation that are huge files like 16 - 20mp per image. I just exported a bunch of photos and now they are showing up as 64kb when I exported them to my desktop then I dragged them back into a new folder in Aperture 3 and those same files are showing up as 0.4mp! What is causing my files to get super small. I knew something was wrong when i looked at my images on my Apple TV and they looked horrible! I use my own presets I have been using since day one. Aperture is just acting real strange today. I don't know if I just need to reboot my system.
When I export my RAW files, they are being exported as JPEG files. I don't need them to be 16-20mp after the export. I always make the images smaller for social networking sites, etc. This has never been an issue. I just can't figure out if I take one of my RAW files that when double clicked, it fills up my entire computer screen pretty much then export it out of Aperture and then check the file size after export. Its really really small like 0.4 or 64kb.

What are the "Export Settings" that you are using when you export your images?
To get the best jpeg quality, set the "Export Preset" for your Versions to "Jpeg Original Size". Then set the Preset to "Edit" and check, if the options are still correct: The "Size To" selector should be set "Original Size" and the "Quality" slider at least to "10".

  • Aperture Photo JPEG Export Size

I have a question regarding the file sizes of photos exported from Aperture. When exported the photos seem to be almost double the file size of the original photo imported to aperture and the size shown in Aperture. For example, I have a photo that is 2736x3648 sized at 3.51MB in Aperture. I export with JPEG set to original size, JPEG quality is set to 12. The resulting file size exported is 7.1MB. The resolution of the exported photo is also 2736x3648 so I don't think it's a DPI issue. I've done some experimentation with the JPEG quality and the results are still strange. 10 gives me a 2.2MB file, 11 gives me a 2.6MB file and 12 as mentioned previously is 7.1MB. Seems like a huge jump so I suspect I'm missing something. The other sizes being smaller than the original also seems strange.
I've looked at the exported photos at 10,11&12 and can clearly see the detail lost. The darker parts get darker and drop the detail in the photo. I'm very reluctant to lose quality so ideally would go with 12.
I know there are a few questions like this on here already but none of them seem to have a good answer. Just wondering if anyone has figured it out?
    Thanks in advance.

Terence, you've helped me on a lot of things, so I guess I am going to further ask for clarification....
I have recently been trying to use Aperture solely (and pretty much abandon iPhoto.).  But, when I say export a file to jpeg (whether it is currently a RAW or JPEG file, I am concerned about my settings--  by default, the setting "export jpeg in original size" has settings as 72 dpi.  I have changed that to 300dpi.  Is this why I have 15-20MB files?  Is this the correct setting?  I don't want any printer to have a false representation of how much data is there.  Nor do I want to lose any data either.
I could theoretically take any photo and probably even say 4500dpi, and the file would be exaggerated that much more.  I go to print, and the print center sees there is plenty of resolution there, but in reality, there is no more data there than the extent to which the file provided.  You can't create resolution that is going to improve on what your camera or the minor adjustments you do to it to improve it.  I say export it at whatever maximum dpi it has or multiply that dpi by 100, and no matter what, the image is going to print the same no matter how much data (or how large the box is).
Also, if I open my library in iPhoto and tell it to export the photo at original size, the file is smaller than the file exported via Aperture (thus my concern I am providing more detail than what is really there) and providing an exagerrated resolution.  Your help is greatly appreciated.  I am providing a disk to someone, and this is affecting whether I give them one or two disks due to the file sizes.  (And, of course, as is, the file sizes are harder to work with if you want to email.  So, if they don't have an email program that auto-condenses, they may be frustrated not having smaller files if they choose to email any.)
    Thanks in advance!

  • PDF Size is huge when inserting an image on every page

    Hello,
I've got a little problem when inserting an image in a crystal report and then exporting it to PDF.
We're using Crystal Report XI and we've designed the report with a sub-report that gets an image from a database field and put this image on every page of the report (it's just a logo for every page).
This image is a JPEG file with 32KB size.
The exported report is about 1000 pages and we're dealing with an issue because of that. Sometimes the report won't generate giving a OutOfMemory Exception (altough we've defined MinHeap/MaxHeap to 512M).
We also find this curious :
    - A generated pdf report with the image on every page totals 100MB size (we would expect something like 32KB*100pages=32000KB/1024KB=31.25MB ?) : Depending on the number of pages, could give OutOfMemoryError.
    - A generated pdf report without the image on every page totals 1.8MB size. : No OutOfMemoryError problem here.
Do you know of any way to optimize this, reducing the pdf size and ?
    Thank you very much.
    Eduardo Andrade (GEDI, S.A.)

    Hello Ted Ueda,
Thank you for your answer, I was suspecting that...
Since this is an obvious problem, do you know if there is another way of including an image in the report in a more efficient way ? For instance, include the image, only on the first page and on the rest of the pages just include a link to that image?
I've searched in here : https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/JwBmBQ , but did not find anything close to this...
    Thank you.

  • Lightroom 4 Export sizes not accurate? Print Space website london

    Hi Guys,
I'm currently exporting my images from lightroom 4 to get them printed at the print space in London
i exported 3 files at A4 size in mm, i then uploaded them onto the print spaces website and all 3 images are very slightly off in dimensions
i took all 3 pics with the same camera, same lens, and they are not cropped at all, all exported at 300 DPI, all exported into Jpeg, all export dims bang on
i also exported another image which was 16"w x 22"h, again i uploaded to the website and same thing it stated the original file size was 16,9" x 23.2"
i sent the guys a message but they only use photoshop, so not that clued up with lightroom, has anyone else experienced this problem
when exporting an exact size and yet it comes out slightly different?
could it be that lightroom 4's measurements are out? i find that unlikely as everyone would complain!
i'm struggling for ideas on what else to try to solve this issue
One thing the guy mentioned at the print space was that you can switch to custom sizes and enter what ever size you require the print to be
but when you amend the width, it automatically changes the height... and vice versa, so you cant pick both custom H and W at the same time.
who would have thought that printing in A4 would be so difficult !!! :-)
Thanks for your time hopefully someone might be able to shed some light on this.
    Cheers
    Chris

    We'll need some details
For one such photo, we need the exact pixel dimensions of the photograph (you said you didn't crop, so I want the pixel dimensions of the uncropped photo)
We'll also need to know your exact settings in the Image Sizing dialog box (screen capture is best, but you can type these in if you need to)
And since I'm an American and not familiar with A4, exactly what are the dimensions of an A4 piece of paper?

  • PDF export size in Pixels

Before, when I exported a PDF from an Illustrator document, the page of the exported PDF would be the same size in pixels as the Illustrator artboard.
Now, for some reason the exported PDFs are bigger than the artboard size. This is consistent now....but it didn't happen before formatting and reinstalling OS,
I've tried creating the projects again, with the same result...
Is there any special setting in the PDF export options?
    TIA

Doh.... it's an option in "Preview".

  • File export size problem (PNG,JPG ....) - CS5

I am using trial of Adobe Illustrator CS5.
When ever I export file (RGB) to PNG or JPG format, there is size difference of 1px in width or hight or both.
But when I save that file with Save for Web & Devices option, then there is no such issue.
I have tested with so many files.
I didn't faced such problem with Illustrator 4.

I have looked all the option .... alignment, pixel grid , not frictional value ..... But still 1px difference.
Now I have switched back to CS 4. For while till problem not solved.
But there is issue. One more thing I am using Windows 7.
