Export slideshow video - does it work?
Just installed LR3. My first and second attempts at exporting a slideshow video failed - the result includes a proper audio track, but the transitions between photos are jerky and pixellated and jump back and forth between photos and the background before completing the transition. I tried 720 and 1080 modes. The exported video didn't look anything like the slideshow preview in LR3.
I'm using a PC with Windows XP. The video player I am using, KMPlayer, has played hundreds of MP4 files of various podcasters without issue. I tried playing the exported video on a MacBook, but playback simply hung up.
If I can't play the resulting video easily and reliably, of course I'm effectively unable to share the video with anyone.
For me, this new feature of LR3 is great in theory, but INOP in reality.
Have any PC users had a positive experience with exporting a slideshow video in LR3?
I too have had no luck converting the mp4 output from the Lr3 Slideshow to any other production format I can manipulate.
And I assumed that this capability would be capable with all other CS products and allow the output to be dropped and dragged right into Premiere Pro or Flash for further integration and production.
Spent all day yesterday downloading a number of mp4 converters just on the hunch that one would convert the output to an avi or mov format readable by PPro3.
Would have been better off buying a lottery ticket.
I am trying Streamclip this morning as a last resort before rebuilding my efforts from scratch in PPro3, which is what I have always done in the past to avoid the two or three days of hoping and fetching around the net for new shortcuts to make my workflow truly go faster. By the time I give up hoping, for a better solution, I could have built the show manually to begin with. Will report back here it Streamclip works.
Am working this one on the PC side of the tracks so if anyone has a bullet proof solution, please share. If I could only wish I was the problem, a misconfiguration, I gladly would admit to it.

UPDATE : Was able to convert the Lr3 Slideshow MP4 file to a MOV file successfully using Streamclip.
The converted file imports into PPr3.
Life is good. I just wish it was easier.

Apple... i am not impressed.Here is the strangest thing, what works for you does not necessarily help other. I rebooted my phone several times, and yes, youtube finally worked, but only for some hours then it did not work. I did quit all Apps and rebooted with home and power button pressed inn until apple logo appeared and disappeared again, i had to press power to start the phone. I repeated this step. Now the videos where playing in all apps. The next morning i did get a snap on my iPhone, i tried to see it, but it was only black screen with text and a clock counted down to 0, but it stopped on 1... and the app froze.
I dubble clicked the home button, and there where 25 active apps, apps that i had not used for days and note... i manually quitted all apps the day before... how did this apps appear again ? The Apps that where terminated do appear again after reboot... i don't know why, i have still trouble to see video. I hope for a fix from Apple, because i have so much i don't want to loose in my phone. -
Video does not Work in iTunes Store please help! annoying problem!
The video does not work in the itunes store. I get no picture, only sound when i want to preview a music video or a movie trailer. No video at all. However, i can watch my movies and music videos that i already own. Please, is there any smart guy who knows a solution?
I'm having this same issue. I tried some things but still couldn't get it to work the way it used too.
It will not play the video portion in iTunes only the audio if I click on the song. If I switch the settings from Music Video to TV show in the info tab, the file plays fine. If I open it in Quicktime, the file plays fine.
I've tried changing the preferences so that the video will play in the iTunes window, in a separate window, etc. and all it plays is the audio and will show the artwork instead of playing the video. -
I downloaded Itunes 10.7 and my audio/video does't work can anybody help me

Bought & registered Program act as an expired DEMO...
The result is a wave with a completely flat HORIZONTAL LINE of pure $300.00 rip off of SILENCE
Even after many clean reinstallations AUDITION never is able to do a Final Mixdown with any Sound in it.
A AUDITION Support Technician cleaned up during 1 hour about 15 secret hidden Adobe files in the Windows XP System.
After this clean up the AUDITION program functionned ONCE! Once it was able to output a Final Mixdown with sound in it.
That never occured again after. I have a very standard very well maintained Windows XP computer.
My understanding & the experience with the Adobe Support Technician prooves that the problem is the deeply hidden spy files of Adobe who erroneously turn my bought & registered program into an expired DEMO. I have reported the problem numerous times to Adobe, & everytime I talk to support people at Adobe, they tell me they have never heard about this problem, when I already had reported it MANY times at the Adobe Tech Support department !!!
I can only draw the conclusion Adobe is trying to hide this problem away by pretending they have never heard about it.. ?

You seem to have a rather strange conception of Audition, I must say. Most musicians want it to do rather more than it does. The primary reason for it being in Adobe's Creative Suite is because it's getting more and more integrated with the video programs in it - nothing to do with music at all.
I'm afraid that whether you like it or not, Audition is marketed towards people who do know what they're doing, by and large. That's why it behaves the way it does, and why you do really need to be at least a bit of a technician to use it effectively. And I'm still trying to think whether I know of any guitarists at all who use amplifiers and who don't understand at least the basics of how a mixer works, but I'm afraid that I can't think of any. I'm not going to say that it's common knowledge, but I don't think it's that rare either. -
Mini-dvi to video does not work
I have the 13-inch white macbook purchased in 2008. I just bought a mini-dvi to video cord and tried hooking it up to my TV using RCA and S-video and neither work. When I plug the cord into my computer, the resolution on my computer changes and then when I plug it into my TV it does not appear on the TV. When I change the display resolution on my computer to the lowest option, I can see the display from the computer on the TV rapidly moving across the screen and it is extremely distorted and doesn't appear to have any color. I chose detect displays and this did not do anything. Am I doing something wrong? Why won't my computer image display on the TV?
I also have the same issue. SVideo / RCA adapter purchased from Fry's Electronics. Apple Brand. Worked the week I bought it, and after a couple of updates, stopped being reliable.
Now, after some trial and error, I can get it to work, its just painfully convoluted.
The trick for my system is to keep trying it, (re-seating the adapter at the mini-dvi connection) and eventually it works.
Iv found that It only works when it "latches" to the video adapter instantly.
Sometimes its 3 times. Sometimes its 15. Quite random.
Seeing as how I don't like watching movies on a 13" screen. I just have to be patient.
I have been searching/waiting for some kind of apple firmware, or video adapter update that adresses this, as I dont believe its anything more than a software bug.
Any useful info would be much appreciated. -
I downloaded ios 7 today 09.19.2013 on my iphone 4 and ipad retina 3hrd generation 64g . The switch from photo to video on the camera app does not work neither on iphone nor on ipad. Is it a "youth"bug ?

I have just sold my mini, and now I am on the lookout for a iPod 5th g. One of the main reasons that i want a iPod, is that it can play video...but this what my question is all about: Does it work allright? I mean, CAN I put a video file onto my iPod, fx and .mpeg file, and then it just works proper? or do I have to find a tricky cpnverting program..? Please help me!

Oracle Applications 11i Export to Excel does not work.
The export button does not work. When I click on export it says complete but does not bring up a window asking me to save. I have pop up blocker off and the site added to trusted sites. I have tried everything I have found so far but no luck. Help would be much appreciated.....thanks!!!!

Can you reproduce the issue from other browsers/machines?
Can you find any errors in the database log file?

Own two iphone 5s with ios 7.0.2 loaded. Both phones do not allow camera video to start. Anyone else with this issue? Any suggestions how to correct?

Thank you for details about the issue you are experiencing with recording video after upgrading to iOS 7.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhones:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the Camera app, I recommend restarting your phones and then resetting if recording video still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

FaceTime does not connect, iChat video does not work, Skype video does not work (LION)
Hi everyone,
I am using OS X 10.7.3 2011 Macbook Pro 2.2 Ghz Intel Core I7 8GG 1333MHz DDR3 RAM 500GB HD.
What happens when I try to call someone in FaceTime: Webcam light is on and I see myself on my screen. It rings and after a while it says "X is not available for FaceTime (or similar).
In iChat I can text chat, but video calls do not work. In Skype, I can do audio talking, but when I try to use my video, it fails to connect.
This seems to indicate to me that there is a system-wide, rather than user or program-specific problem, in which my system cannot connect to others when using my webcam.
Can anyone offer any guidance on this matter? I am pretty tech savvy. On my home network I have tried port forwarding/opening and all that, without luck. I am worried that maybe I could have made a mistake in terminal or something some time ago, but I don't go in there very often and it is usually for very specific things.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am moving away for four months, and I really need this to work so that I can chat with my lovely girlfriend. Please see the notes below prior to commenting.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
I've been trying to connect my macbook to an Insignia TV. The macbook recognizes the TV is connected and changes the display ratio accordingly, but it does so in a jittery way before landing on 1080i after some time.
The audio works fine on the TV from the mac, but it's not picking up any video. When I go to System Preferences>Displays, I get two windows: one for the built-in display, one for the TV. I think this is why I'm not getting any video, but I don't know how to make it just so that the display is for the TV. The displays are mirrored, but I'm still not getting anything. Please help!Go into System Preferences, then Displays. There should be an option to click on the tv mirroring. Click it and see if it connects to the TV.

I would like to know How to fix this problem with my mini Ipad, camera works well when I take photos but if I try to use for video the screen does not respond. it only response to photo, so I can I fix this ?
All iPads (except the first gen which doesn't have a camera) are capable of taking videos. What version of iOS do you have on your iPad ? With iOS 7 you slide the Video / Photo / Square options up/down so that the one that you want lines up with the yellow dot to their left - is that how you are trying to select Video ?

Add effects to video does not work
I have a motorola ROKR E6 I am able to use it as a webcam in ichat on my mac mini. But when I try to add effects to it iChat says connection problem. I tried this on photo booth as soon as I launch Photo Booth while ROKR is connected Photo Booth crashes. But if the ROKR in not connected it does not crash. Is this problem with my iChat or is the problem with ROKR E6?

If so on the right does it say it needs a Mac Driver (macam or ioxperts or possibly branded from Logitech)

This will allow at least iMovie to see the camera.
This is because iMovie can see many formats of Video signal.
iChat can only see DV imput (or converted imput from certain USB cameras)
When the camera is a USB one it will fall into two categories.
1) the Newer UVC (USB Video Class ) Compliant cameras that the Mac OS 10.4.9 and above can use in all apps
2) those that are not USB Video Class compliant that need a driver.
The for iChat to see the second group you also need the iUSBCam utility as well as the Mac Driver.
Are you talking about the Logitech or the Mobil phone camera ?

Export to mpeg2 does not work?
I have updated to QT7 and brought FCP Studio2 which also asks to update to latest revision of which I now have QT 7.2, I have noticed that exporting to mpeg2 no longer is an option in my list. I have been through this forum and noted other problems with 7.2 and also renewed my QT Pro Key again for QT7 and re brought mpeg2 play back again to see if this solves the problem, but it doesn't.
Any other ideas before trying to get a refund back from Apple? are they on the case to fix all these issues with QT7.Converting a video to mpeg-2 has moved to Compressor. Is no longer an option in Qt.
Why would you buy Qt 7 Pro when it comes free in FCP same with the mpeg-2 component?

In big letters it says, "MPEG-2 Playback." Nowhere does it state on that page that you can use the component to make mpeg-2 videos, only play them. You can transcode to another codev using the mpeg-2 component.
