Export Sound to MP3?

Is there a way to Export Sound to MP3 in QuickTime Pro? Is there some sort of plugin that you download or buy to add this feature? I know iTunes can create MP3 files, but I'd love to be able to do it in QuickTime Pro.

Thanks for the info Rob. The sound plays fine in Flash. The export settings are: 16-bit stereo 44.100kHz H264. Could the video H264 compression be the problem? Without the H64 compression the video triples in size. Something I'm trying to avoid. I will give no audio compression a try.

  • Scratchy, distorted, garbled sound from MP3s files

I'm having really horrible scratchy, distorted, garbled sound from MP3 files. AAC encoded files play extremely clearly on iTunes 10.5

After reviewing all comments, it appears that this issue is squarely with the 10.5 upgrade that Apple did on I tunes. I have done all the uninstall and re-install that you can do.  Songs play fine on some, terrible on others, but yet they all will play on Windows Media Player. I can't believe it is the chipset for those that AMD processors, because everything was fine on the 10.4.  So,  Apple please fix this or offer us a way to uninstall from the 10.5 to the 10.4 where everything should be okay.   Awaiting your reply with thousands of others!

  • USB Sound Blaster MP3+ and Vi

My USB Sound Blaster MP3+ performs fantastically using the nati've drivers on Win2K and WinXP.
On Vista, however, there is a chirpy/buzzy distortion piggybacking on any signal passed through the A-to-D (line in, specifically). I've tried two different Vista PC, different powered USB hubs, and with and without the Creative USB Series Windows Vista Driver .0.0002 to no benefit.
I'm an engineer and a programmer, but not a Windows programmer. Can somebody tell me why this nearly generic USB Audio interface doesn't work with Vista I have other USB Audio devices that work fine with the nati've drivers on Vista.

Is there anyone with experience with this sound card, recording and Vista?

  • Sound Blaster MP3+ causes Control Panel er

    Hi,
I just installed the drivers from the installation CD and everything seems to be working properly. However, whenever I open Control Panel, I get this error message:
"To enable the advanced sound effect for gaming, please make sure the setting of Hardware Acceleration is "full". The directory is as below: Control Panel -> Multimedia(Win98) / Sound & Multimedia(Win200, Me)/Sound & Audio Device (WinXP) -> Audio -> Playback/Advance...-> Performance -> Hardware Acceleration"
It has only an "OK" button which, when I click it, brings up the error again. This happens 3 or 4 times in a row, and then finally the Control Panel appears.
I did not have this problem before installing Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. I thought maybe installing SP 2 was the cause of the problem. However, I just reformatted my hard-dri've and installed SP 2 BEFORE installing Sound Blaster MP3+. The problem appears again. Is there a known compatibility issue? What might be the cause of this error?
Also, I was just wondering: What exactly is Sound Blaster MP3+? Is it an actual sound card? Or is it just a sound processing device. I am running it on a laptop which has an integrated sound card. Should I have disabled the integrated sound card before installing MP3+? Could there be a conflict there?
    Thanks.
    - Mark

Sorry, I forgot to mention that yes, I checked the Hardware Acceleration settings and they are already set to "full".

  • No option to export sound with quicktime

When i'm trying to export a video clip of various formats, all i'll get is the video, no audio. Upon investigation there is no option to export sound (the half of the settings is unclickable). I do have a sound card with correct drivers installed, and under quicktime preferances the correct device is selected. However, when i am playing a "QUICKTIME MOVIE" I can export with audio. Is there some sort of codec needed, or is there a setting i can change?

QuickTime Pro doesn't export audio from "muxed" formats (like MPEG 1 or 2 and Flash).
Use MPEG Streamclip (free) for your .mpg files.

  • Export animation with mp3 track to .mov file...movie sound tinny, hollow with a little reverb. How to fix?

I'm exporting a 1 minute piece of animation with a great mp3 sound track to a .mov file. The .mov file's sound track is tinny, hollow with some reverb. I've used most high quality quicktime setting and all exports versions were not good. I using FlashCS6 and am on a iMac using OSX 10.9.5. I have also converted the mp3 to a .wav and aiff file and exported both with the animation with the same results. Any help help or workaround to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. • PLEASE HELP !!! Exporting mix to mp3 leads to nothing ?

    Hi-
I am a newb to Audition 3.0, but it seems I know just enough to be dangerous. I was hoping I could get some help with an issu I'm having-
I have recorded about five tracks into Audition. I need to "flatten them" and then export the file to an mp3. Whenever I export, the file always comes up empty, in other words, nothing records. Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong. I just exported to a 77mb mp3 that is completely empty. What am I doing g wrong ?
    Thanks
    Mike

    Let's start with the beginning:
    - can you hear any sounds at all in AA?
    - what did you record, can you hear that in AA, and how did you save it (as wav)
    - to export, go to File / Save As, and in the selection box select mp3PRO, and click Save. Do this for each file; as an alternative, you can use batch conversion to convert the files in one process.

  • Exporting m4a to mp3

    Hallo there,
    am running iTunes 11.0.2.
As the title says I would like to convert some music to the mp3 format. I realize there is the 'create mp3 version' under the contextual menu of each song and this groups this version with the original format within the library. This however also means I have to go through the entire library to find the mp3s after they are no longer wanted. All I want to be able to do is convert and have them export to a file of my choosing i.e. Desktop.
Now I have tried Preferences>Advanced>iTunes Media Folder Location. But this seemed rather daunting as I don't want to relocate the entire Media Folder. Is this the only possibility short of manually deleting the mp3s? Maybe I'm just not seeing the right way to do this.
    Regards Argento

Would it not then make sense (massive endevour) to convert ALL music files in the library to mp3s (highest quality) and ditch the ACCs?
No sense at all, except in the specific circumstance where you want to get the files onto an MP3 player which won't handle AAC. The latter is better quality than MP3 at a given bitrate, and in any case converting a compressed file to another format with a higher bitrate cannot improve the quality - and indeed converting to a different compression system is liable to make the quality worse.
Compression is done by leaving out parts of the sound that it is assumed you can't hear; once done you can never put these parts back, and converting to MP3 is liable to leave out different parts in addition to those already missing.
All Apple devices can handle AAC and if that's where you want to play your music you are best off leaving the files alone.

  • Can't export sound

I have a video and audio track in a new project.  It looks/sounds fine in Premiere but once I export, the audio isn't there.  Instead I hear this loud buzzing almost screeching sound periodically.  There's a buzz...silence...buzz...silence that are a few seconds apart.  The audio file is an m4a, a song I purchased from iTunes.  Here are my export settings:
    Source: 1920x1080
    Output 720x480
Why isn't it outputting to 1920x1080p?
    Export Settings:
    Format: QuickTime
    Preset: NTSC DV Widescreen 24p
    Export Video checked
    Export Audio checked
    48000 Hz, Stereo, 16 bit
    DV/NTSC 24p
I also converted the m4a audio file to an MP3 and added it to the project.  I clicked the eye on the m4a audio track so it doesn't play.  Only the video track and the MP3 track were available at that point and played in Premiere.  However, once I exported, only the audio played in the MOV file, no video. There was a black screen.  It was also a huge file - 1.34GB.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
    Here's my setup:
    Production Premium 4
    Macbook 2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM
Once last thing, the video doesn't render to well within Premiere.  It's jerky, doesn't render all frames and sometimes can sit on one frame for a while.  Is that because of my machine resources?  What specifically - processor?

Now, MP3 files can often cause problems. They are also highly compressed. I find them to be poor choices on many fronts.
It appears that you are going from an iTunes piece. Is this correct?
Now, I am on a PC, so there will likely be differences here, but this is my workflow from iTunes:
1.) create Playlist in iTunes with the necessary music
2.) Burn that Playlist to CD
3.) Rip the CDA material from the CD as WAV (Uncompressed). This will be 44.1 KHz 16-bit. From my audio editor (where I do the ripping), Audition in my case, I Save_As PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit.
4.) Import that file into PrPro for use.
Note: you might want to use another, non-compressed Mac audio format. I do not know how well, or poorly, Mac's work with WAV files.
I've never encountered the behavior that you describe.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Exporting sound of a video

Hello. I am trying to export the sound of a video clip in AIFF format for my wife to put on a CD she's making for a colleague.
The video clip is in FlashVideo (flv) format. I opened the clip in QuickTime Pro, and clicked on export and chose the option Sound: AIFF. The file is created, and will open in ITunes and QuickTimePlayer but the sound is not audible. The curser moves showing the file is playing but there is no sound.
I tried saving in Au and Wave formats as well, with the same result. I even opened the files in RealPlayer.
What am I doing wrong? The file info says it has 7.5 MB so it's not empty.
    Thanks!
    RS

I never did get Itunes to work with the file, but I downloaded Streamclip and it worked like a charm.
    Glad to help.
For iTunes to work, you have to set the default audio preference first. This refers to the compression format to which iTunes is automatically set as a default when a CD is incserted and copied to the hard drive. If you reset this to AIFF, import your MP3 file, highlite the imported MP3 file, and then go to the "Advanced" menu you will file a "Create AIFF" option is now avilable for the conversion of any selected audio file in your list. If your default preference setting is "Apple Loseless," then the option will be "Create Apple Lossless." If "MP3," then the option will be "Create MP3." And so on and so forth..
In any case. MPEG Streamclip is a veery handy application and well worth many times its "free" price tag if you need to supplement the capabilities of QT Pro. Would recommend you keep both handy. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses. While the capabilities of these applications may overlap in many areas, each does have features that complements the other and both are great for all kinds of daily "mini-edits" or conversions that do not require other, more specialize or dedicated applications.

  • Exporting sounds in Pages document to PC users

Is it possible to export a Pages document with sound clips embedded, to a PC user?
I tried exporting as a PDF but even when I opened this on my iMac with Preview or Adobe Reader, the sound clip icon was missing.
I exported as a Word document (which created the .doc file and a folder with the media files in it) and when I moved these to a PC and tried opening the .doc in Word general formatting was intact and there was an icon for the sound clip, but I couldn't seem to click or double click and get the sounds to play.
I tried exporting as an HTML and while the sounds would play, the general formatting was lost.
Any hope of doing this? (My intention would be to email someone with a PC with the document (and perhaps media files) attached.

    Thanks for the reply, Magnus.
I guess I have to accept this, but one thing that puzzles me about your reply:
"In theory both Word and PDF should take embedded sounds, but Apple has not implemented the feature"
This implies it is the Apple software that is the weak link. Yet in a Pages document I can clearly have the imbedded audio. So is it in their implementation of their export features where the audio is stripped out or is it the inability of the 3rd party products I tried (Adobe Reader and Word) to handle what might really be imbedded?

  • QT Pro does not export sound...

    Hi there,
I just bought QT Pro to convert my camera movies (MPEG1 Muxed, 640x480) into a format supported by iDVD but without any success...
When I click on the movie file they open and play with sound in QT but when I choose Export (to various formats, eg Movie to Quicktime Movie - H.264 Decoder, 640x480, Millions) they turn out with no sound to them!
    What am I doing wrong???
    Thanks,

I use QuickTime Pro as an Authoring tool. Since I don't own a "video" camera I make most of my QuickTime files (Web use only) from still image files.

One of about a hundred pages I've created using QuickTime Pro. The Pepto Bismol "pink" color was intended to be transparent but didn't (obviously).

  • Sound Blaster Mp3+ cannot hear recorded so

When I play sound into the RCA line in on the back of the MP3+ the computer registers and records it correctly but I cannot hear it as it is playing which means I cannot simply listen to records on the computer using the line in. I have also noticed that there is no 'what u hear' option in the recording source selecter as has been the case with other creative cards. How can I make the the recording source audible?

    Bahamut_uk,
Unfortunately the MP3+ is not capable of playing back it's inputs. This is due to USB bandwidth limitation as it would require the sound to be sent to the computer and then sent back to the MP3+ for output. This would introduce timing and latency problems. It would also require a huge amount of the usb bandwidth which would limit the computer sound quality capable. For a similar reason there is not an option for "What-U-Hear".

  • My quicktime won't export sound with my movies

    Hey,
I have quicktime 7 pro and have tried to convert my home movies into the MPEG-4 format(the only thing that itunes will read.(i have tried the quicktime format and that failed) All i want to do is have my sound go with the movie after i export. I need help.

The most frequent cause of this problem is trying to export from mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 files. QT will not export the sound from these file types.QT Mpeg Limitations
Open one of the movie in QT and then check MovieInfo. That will tell you if the format is mpeg.
If they are mpeg-1 you can use this Windows freeware to convert the mpeg-1 to uncompressed avi, which QT will read and from which it will export both sound and video. Open the mpeg-1 in VirtualDub then go to the File menu and use Save as Avi. The default export format is uncompressed. Note that such files are quite large, so if the mpegs are more than a minute or so you may need to do the conversion in segments. VDub has check marks in the window to start and stop selection of a segment and it will only export the selected portion.
