Export stills, edit, re-assemble as video.  Is this possible?

I would like to take a short .mov clip, export each frame as a still, edit each still in photoshop and then re-assemble them as a .mov. Can Final Cut do this? Is there a better app for this project?
Thanks so much for your help.

I've just been trying to do this in Quicktime 7 Pro. So far, I can only export and re-assemble if I do it as a jpeg. I'd like to do it as a TIFF, since I think that will have higher image quality, is that true? Should I worry about using jpegs?
When I do it as a TIFF, the re-assembled movie doesn't contain all the frames it should.
thanks!

  • Editing my cover music video in this fashion with about four/five shots on screen?

Type of editing I am wanting to do with my cover videos (multiple shots start @0:46): http://youtu.be/CBrBnmT8zWI
Hi everyone, I am a musician using Premiere Pro CS5.5 wanting to edit my cover music video in a fashion like the video posted above. The entire video has a white border, and each shot has its own border as well. Also, the shots change very often, and so does the structure of the borders and shots. I have been trying to figure out how to edit in this way, and I can't really figure out a way to do it all, yet alone efficiently since every shot must sync with the recorded audio.
Could someone help describe to me the process of doing this in an efficient manner in CS 5.5? Any help is much appreciated.

  • I would like to edit web journal themes. Is this possible in Aperture 3?

I am making a website to display photos of coral species, and I need the following flexibility from the web journal page. A) is it possible to edit the web journal themes within Aperture, and/or B) is it possible for an html programmer to take the outputs from the Aperture web journal export (folder), and programme these externally?
    - multiple hierarchical headers, with a different header for each page (ie. a different species name per page)
    - different sized photographs, on individual pages.
    - option to include custom metadata fields in the web pages
    THANKS!!!

It can't be done directly from within Aperture but it is possible to modify (or better) create new themes.
The themes are located in the Aperture application bundle under Contents/Resources/WebThemes in subfolders by theme name. A good html progamer shouldn't have to much trouble figuring out whats what.

  • Mini DisplayPort to Component Video, is This Possible?

    Hi,
    I have a 2010 model 15" MacBook Pro i5.
I am currently using a Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter, this video converter (http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-VGA2TV-Computer-Presentation-Converter/dp/B000X3 FAJU/ref=accglance_MI_ai_purchase_similarities_t5), and a standard RCA video cable to connect it to my TV.
My TV also has component video (YPbPr) inputs. Is it possible to output video using the MDP-to-VGA adapter and a cable like this one?: http://www.amazon.com/VGA-Component-High-Resolution-Cable/dp/B000YI24J8/ref=sr18?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1255662264&sr=8-8
Anyone have any experience with MDP-to-component and can tell me what would be needed to achieve this connection?
    Thanks.

I don't believe the adapter you're asking about will work. You need a converter box:

  • Exporting PHotoshop layered file to Illustrator. Is this possible?

I built a project within Photoshop CS2, complete with layers. But I need to export this artwork to be used in Illustrator. Can I do this? I've already tried saving the work as EPS but when it's opened in AI CS2, it displays nothing. What should I do?
    - Kareem

    >I've already tried saving the work as EPS...
The EPS format does not support layers in raster images, so you flattened your layers when you saved as EPS. (Open the EPS again in Photoshop and see.) Nothing Illustrator can do about that (but it should display
    something).
Please read the topic "To use Photoshop artwork in Adobe Illustrator" in the Photoshop help file.

  • How do I export a video so I can still edit it in the future and have all data (no compression)

I am super new to Premiere Elements and video in general so my question is probably a no brainer.  I am taking parts of a video and exporting them out so I can come back later and edit them.  When I try this the dimension is changing even though I'm checking 1080x720.  It's also losing quality.   I'm a wedding photographer (not videoagrapher) and don't know the correct terminology to use.  This is for a family wedding I did where I also experimented with video.  Basically what I would like to do is take the "raw" clips and grab the scenes I want, export them and bring them back at a future time and edit them without losing quality.
I have tried researching this and am so frustrated.  I just can't figure this out.  Thank you in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply. From your screenshot, I cannot be sure if you are using Premiere Elements 12 or 11 (very similar) on Windows. So, for now I will assume Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
From your screenshot, it would appear that your source is
    1920 x 1080 @ 23.976 progressive frames per second
So, you or the project should have set a project preset of
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p24
If the program was allowed to set the project preset based on the properties of the first video drag from Project Assets to Timeline, we can find out if it did it "right". Sometimes it does not. To do this...Edit Menu/Project Settings/General. And, if the Project Settings look like the following screenshot, the program set the project preset correctly:
If you do not see the above, then new project whose project preset you set manually before you import your video.
    To do that...
In Expert workspace, File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
    Change Settings to NTSC/DSLR/1080p/DSLR1080p24
Before exiting that area, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Settings on This Project" in the new project dialog.
Now the big question, what to export this TImeline to so that the export will be part of a family of exports to joint a grand project. If you know that all you want as the destination is NTSC DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc, then you can export each TImeline as a DV AVI Widescreen file (Publish+Share/Computer/AVI with Presets = DV NTSC Widescreen. When all is said and done, all these DV AVI Widescreen files will be imported in a new Premiere Elements 12 NTSC DV Widescreen project for burn to with Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc with NTSC _Widescreen_Dolby DVD preset.
Alternative way, if you had HD plans for this edited video on this Timeline, could be
    a. Project Preset - set as before 1920 x 1080p24
    b. Export as Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080 p24
    c. Combine all the individual .mp4 into one grand project (project preset = 1920 x 1080p24) with a destination for
    DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on DVD disc
    or
    AVCHD format on DVD disc
    or
Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc.
    You wrote
In mpeg I used preset HDTV 1080p 29.97 high quality and it seems to save it just fine.  But can I bring these files back in and edit with non-destructive editing?
This would be a Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG choice (MPEG2 HD.mpg 1920 x1080p29.97 versus what I described as an alternative Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD choice (AVCHD.mp4 1920 x 1080p24). The project preset for the grand project might be:
    for 1920 x 1080p29.97, NTSC/DSLR/1080p/DSLR1080p30 @ 29.97
    for 1920 x 1080p24, NTSC/DSLR/1080p/DSLR1080p24
Irrespective of the frame rate along the line, in the end, burn to presets are standarded at @29.97 interlaced frames per second.
Please review and consider. If I did not explain clearly enough, please let me know, and I will rewrite if need be.
    Thanks.

  • Edited FCP 16:9 video export to iMovie?

I'm trying to export some edited video in 16:9 format from FCP 3.04 to an iMovie 6.02. 16:9 project.
I can only get it to open up in iMovie as a squished 4:3 in a 16:9 frame.
Can anyone tell me how to get iMovie to import it and use it as a full 16:9?
    Cheers

Why would you want to do that?

  • How to export an edited video to ...?

How to export an edited video to a pen drive or an external Hard Drive from FCP X? Thanks

It depends on a lot of factors like what the capabilities of the computers are and what quality you need and what you want to do with the video in addition to just playing it back. I don't know what's appropriate for you. If you select Computer you'll have few options. Vidoe and audio will give you more options to maintain the quality of the output.

  • When I export a edited video, maximum dimensions are reduced. :(

Hi, I'm new to use Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Its version is 7.2.2. I use it on my Mac. I'm in free trail.
I imported a video with domentsions of 2560 x 1600. Then I edited this video. When I tried to export edited video, the maxmum dimentisons of video is 2048 x 1280.
I wanna export my edited video on dimensions of 2560 x 1600. How do I get this done?
    Thank you.

    Hi, Neil.
    In sequence settings, the dimensions are 2560 x 1600. I made a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lo8im1m7lfa710a/Sequence%20Settings.png
When I export the edited video, I choose "Match Source - high bitrate". I also made a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqo4ngrk0jdmupk/Export.png
I wait for you help. Thank you.

  • Best settings for exporting stills from video?

i've exported still frames to photoshop as tiff, jpeg, and photoshop format and still end up get those horizontal lines on the contours of some elements of the still-like the ones we see while reviewing a QT movie-i've been unsuccessful with the export options and resoerted to pixel correction to correct the problem--is there another way?--thanks

    Hello Brian,
Have you tried de-interlacing before exporting?
Sometimes, when I'm in a rush, I would expand the Canvas/Viewer (viewed at 100%), pick the clearest frame, and do a screen capture.
For example, with the captured image (in Photoshop), I have a marquee preset at 640x480 (NTSC). I created an action to crop, resize to 720x480, then set the Pixel Aspect Ratio to NTSC.

  • Premiere and Media Encoder will will no longer export my edit to any file format.

This is on a Windows 8.1 PC.
The edit exported fine until I made one big mistake.
I created a Nested Edit to make a quick alteration.
Since then the following is now the case and I cannot go back to an earlier edit to fix this.
Premiere and Media Encoder will will no longer export my edit to any file format. Using either the Export Option or Media Encoder.  Get a dialog that says "Unknown Error Compiling Movie"
There is nothing wrong with my footage.  This edit worked fine and I export through Media Encoder many times until I made a Nested Edit within the Premiere Project.
I have tried all sorts of searches on the net for a fix to this but nothing seems to be current or indeed works.
Any help would be appreciated as this is a show stopper.

Thanks for the reply Mark, appreciated.
I have found a work around but it still leaves a long term issue for Adobe to fix.
    As to your first solution:
1).  The nested edit is already in its own timeline panel.  It will not export or encode via media encoder.  This is the problem.
2).  I will try the KEM roll feature but I have a work around see following.
3).  No I do not have a nested edit within a nested edit.
I did a lot of research on the net on this issue as it happened to a colleague of mine on his machine about two weeks ago.  It took me six hours to get a fix and in his case there were six video clip that had read errors.  When I overwrote those clips from the original backup master it fixed the problem.  However I was never able to use Media Encoder again to export his project without it failing.  I could only use the Export feature.  Again he had used a nested edit in his project.
I my case I do not have any nested edits within a nested edit.  All I did was drag my main edit onto the New Sequence icon at the bottom of the Project Bin.  This of course created a nested edit in a new Timeline Panel which is what I wanted.  I then slid the entire nested edit to the right in the timeline by two seconds as all a wanted to do was add two seconds of black at the head of the edit.  That was it.  From that point of creating the nested edit Media Encoder and the Export option failed every time with the fore mentioned error.
The final work around was one of those I found previous mention of during my research.  I created a new clean Premiere Pro CC 2014 project, I then used the import option under the file menu.  I imported only the original main edit which brought in that edit along with all the required footage.  This would then export to disk using the Export feature.  However, Media Encoder will still not encode this new edit, it fails the same way every time, 'Unknown Error Compiling Movie'.
As a test I loaded the old corrupt edit project back up and deleted the nested edit sequence completely and re-saved it.  This had no effect and did not fix the problem.  This particular project file will no longer export directly or via media encoder at all no matter what I do.
This seems pretty serious to me.  I worked on this edit for a whole month without issue, encoding out roughs as a went without any issue, it was only yesterday after I made the nested edit that the project file is now useless as it will not encode out at all.  Yes I have a work around and was able to salvage my project and get it rendered in time for my deadline but the fact I have a partially working Project that Media Encoder will not touch does not instill me with confidence for long term use of Premiere Pro if this is going to happen again.
Is there some place I can send this project file to Adobe to see if they can find out what is wrong with it?  I am not the only person having this issue I have seen other post going all the way back through CS6 it seems.

  • Export stills

is there any way to export stills from fcpx a little faster then going through the destinations menu? resolve is much more flexible in that regard....option click on the current frame and save right there....their gallery feature is nice as well.....
is there anything in fcpx like that?
i am working with Red Epic 5k raw files so the stills are very nice size Tiffs....

thanks, i was aware of that video....
but i did not know that i could create my own shortcut......the only problem is that somehow it is not working? the shortcut does not show up....is it because it is a submenu item?
i would love apple to simply put in a button (like the guy in the video said, adobe just has a camera button with a click sound)...i can't imagine i am the only one who wants and needs this....
EDIT: the submenu items have "..." which have to be added as well....now the shortcut shows up
would still love a "camera" button

  • What is the next step after editing or triming a video ? What type of file format to save and what to do after that ?

what is the next step after editing or triming a video?
what type of file format should be save and what to do after that?

In the early days of digital video editing, an export render could take hours!  Not many applications are as hard on system resources as video editing, and rendering the final edit is probably the most system intense action of all.
Head on over to the Premiere Pro Hardware forum to see what sort of computer hardware the pros use for NLE (non linear editing), or to the PPBM5 site for a better look.

Similar problem here. My Ical refuses to edit or delete events. Viewing is possible, though sometimes the whole screen turns grey. Adding new events from mail is still possible. The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall.
