Export time very slow.

Hi guys, i-v read some thems on the forum, but I am not an english speaking person, so it's kind of hard for me to receive a lot of information in a diffrent language at the same time. So I would like to create a new theme, where you probably will be able to help me.
I am using Adobe Premiere CS 6. I have an HP DV7 laptom with the folowwing configuration:
Windows 7 ultimate 64
Intel core I7-3820QM CPU, 2.70 Ghz
8 GB RAM
internal HDD drives 5400 Rpm
Video adapter:
1. Intel (R) HD Graphics 4000
2. Nvidia GeForce GT 650M with unabled CUDA (I mean in Premiere it's shown as unabled)
The premiere is installed on disc C, the info is on Disk D (different HDD from C).
I shoot on an Canon 7D camera full HD 1080x1920, 25 fps. Sequence is the same as camera shooting h264 format.
When I export i select MPEG2 movie, 1920x080, 25 fps, 30 bitrate.
1 hour clip is then exported in about 4-5 hours, what seems extremly long for me...

Thank you, is there a way to fasten the rendering and export time? What should I look for upgrading my laptop?

  • Exporting is very slow

    Hi,
    I bought a refurbed MacBook Pro from Apple Store, (incl apple care)
    2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    I was told that I could extend the Ram to 4 Gig Ram but I would not get the full performance from the 4 Gig Ram, but it would be better than the 2 I had and better than extending to 3 Gig Ram.
    I bought the Ram from Crucial.com
    Didn't really notice much difference in edit, but I was recently away on a job where we had to export our time lines to QuickTime - Broadband Medium, which a graphic on top of our work.
    Each timeline was about 1-2mins long.
    My exports where taking between 5-7mins where as collegues where exporting in half the time.
    My computer in general had been slow so I reinstalled, first MacBook Pro discs, then OSX 10.5 did all the upgrades, then installed FCP latest version, did the updates.
    Still slow!
    Is this a ram thing or just a slow computer?
    Will Mac replace it if it is slow?
    Lastly, I can't find my apple care receipt, but I know I registered the mac online, where do I find where it is registered?
    Please help. I have another job starting next week, same sort of gig. We have to provide a lot of content for the web and I am slowing down the work flow.
    Many thanks,
    Jamie
    PS One last thought, could it be the external drive the work is stored on. G-Raid drive connected to FW 800. I doubt it?

    Jamie.
    For what its worth, the 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo model of the MacBook Pro did not support 4 GB of RAM. It would only support 3, but even with the mismatched pair, performance wasn't improved that much. So the 2.33GHz model will work best with 2GB of RAM.
    You would also do well to answer these gentlemen's exact questions if you want specific answers to your issue. These guys are professionals offering free advice on their own time, they're asking these questions for a reason. You'll notice in my signature that I use the same model MacBook Pro, and it works very well with FCP. I don't think you have a bad machine, you just need to take some time and learn some basics here.
    Cheers.

  • Export is very slow

    Hi,
    We have created a new database.
    The db version is 9.2.0.4
    It is available on Sun Solaris V890 and OS is Solaris 9.
    In general the performance is very good, but ONLY export is taking too much time. setting direct and buffer parameters didn't help.
    Could you please let me know whether anything else needs to be done?.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Try FastReader from wisdomforce for export/import large Oracle tables. FastReader extracts it into flat file with high performance and creates automatically input for sql loader
    FastReader can be found at http://www.wisdomforce.com

  • Macbook Pro: long startup time / very slow in general

    Hello everyone,
    I purchased a Macbook Pro 15” in the summer of 2010 before going to university.
    The startup time has become ridiculously slow. Even opening a web browser is stressful.
    I have now completed my studies and I am pretty sure I have uninstalled all the large software I had installed for my degree and deleted majority of my
    document/files however the startup time has not improved.
    I have been looking through threads discussing Factory resets?
    My Mac did not come with a disk (Snow Leopard originally installed). I simply turned the thing on and it was ready to go.
    If I was to reset my Mac to factory settings would I need to purchase a disk? Is there something else that I could do instead?
    The problem seemed to materialise when I upgraded to “OS X Mavericks”.
    The only software I want to keep on my Mac is Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
    I have transferred all the documents I wish to keep to another computer so I do not mind losing everything currently on my Mac.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Do you know what the original disks were? Were they snow Leopard, higher than 10.6.3, they are most likely builld specific.
    I can not guarantee that it will speed it up, but if your HD was pretty full 50%+ as well as your caches, it should clear a lot of stuff off the machine that can slow it down. It will probably take a couple hours to go thru this, give or take.
    How much of your HD is used, I keep mine at about 20% to help keep it faster, (less stuff to search)
    If it is just the speed you are concerned with I will send you some links in regards to that. I answered that you wanted to go back to "New machine" settings, hence my reply.
    Slow Mac:

    Maybe something here will offer help. The reason for repairing the disk and permissions, etc... is that smetimes the disk gets errors, which the mackine hen has to work around, if it can. Hvaeing your disk much past 50% will slow it down, having caches that have not been emptied and are full of junk can slow it down. Try going to  Safari menu clicking reset Safari, empty cache, also go to Safari Preferences/Privacy tab click "remove all website data.
    This would be a start. read thru the links, or do a tottal wipe and install.
    I hope this has helped you in some way.

  • Exporting is VERY slow in LR 4.4 on MacPro

    Hi,
    I use LR 4.4 on a MacPro with tons of memory and space.
    This week I deleted ALOT of images and saved the catalog upon quitting.
    Today photos are exporting SUPER slow so I cleared all caches on my mac and re-started, yet slow export persists.  Also emptied the cache which has 20 GB set.
    Any ideas what else I can do to speed up exporting?
    Maybe there is another cache or preference to delete?
    thanks so much, Teri

    Thanks so much DJ, appreciate your kind help!
    I never optimize but am doing so now… however system is saying I optimized yesterday, when I backed-up upon quitting.
    Does the optimization happen as part of the catalog back-up upon quitting?
    Yes,  the slow to export images had a lot of gradated filters and brush strokes as I did some retouching… sounds like this retouching work can slow down the export?
    thanks again for shedding some light on this!

  • Home button no longer working, screen not responding half the time, very slow functioning and random crashing?? What is going on?

    I got my IPhone 4 (GSM) a couple of years back, and had never had any trouble with it. As soon as the new updates came out (this past summer), the phone has been glitching out (randomly screen going black, or closing an app by itself, super slow functioning, screen not responding to touch and home button not working anymore).
    Help anyone? Makes no sense why it would just stop working.. ??

    it depends. i had an iPhone 3GS that was not good in the first place, but functionable. when i got iOS6 it just acted weird like yours. Have you ever dropped your phone or anything? Or maybe you should try closing your apps. For the home button. Go to Settings:General:Accsessibility:Scroll down;Assistive Touch: On. That part is hard to explain but self explanatory,
    i hope this helps!

  • Dashboard to BEx query call run time very slow (7-8 mins)

    Hi Guys,
    I am currently working on a project where BEx query is being consumed using BICS. The functional team has built a BEx which is being cached in Webi by the BO developer and then that cashed Webi is being used in Dashboard. We have many hierarchies (Fund Center, Profit Center, GL Account etc.) used in the dashboard.
    BEx query > WEBi (Cached) > Dashboard
    Clicking the main level in hierarchy in dashboard the data comes back in 2-3 secs as the data is cached in Webi
    ISSUE: In Dashboard based on where user is on the Fund Center hierarchy there is a button called “Summary Report” on the dashboard which calls the BEx query and that second call takes roughly about 7-8 minutes. How could we reduce the run time of the second query?
    The secondary query uses the same data set as the first one but as the data is cached in Webi and it uses Web services to pass data to dashboard, so any call back from dashboard to the cached webi the hierarchy information is lost  and thus the secondary query call to BEx query.
    Would it be possible to recommend any solution where we could bring the run time of the secondary call to less than a minute?
    Thanks,

  • Java Webserver - Tomcat / Axis2 - Response time very slow!!

    Hi all,
    I'm developing a Java Web Server using Axis2 inside Tomcat 7, but i'm having a big problem with the response time for each request made.
    The purpose of this application is to fetch data from a database and return it to a client (also developed in Java)
    For example: If i make a request from the database for 4000 objects, the database returns the data rather quickly (about 100ms), but then it takes about 30 seconds to generate the soap response, the xml containing the response has about 3mb size. The class in the webservice that represents the information from the database is quite simple, it has a string array, and about 3 Integers and 2 Strings..
    Is this normal for the response time? Is there any way to optimize (Tomcat definition, etc)?
    Thanks in advance :)

    Here's a method from the webserver that returns the information from the database:
    * The method receives a SQL Query to execute, and return a list with all the objects from the database
    public MyObject[] getMyObject(String querySQL) throws SQLException, ConfigurationException, AxisFault  {
         try {
              ArrayList<MyObject> myObjectList = new ArrayList<MyObject>();
              //Executes the query on the database
              Statement stmt = RdbmsDAOFactory.connection.createStatement();
              ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(querySQL.toString());
              //Fetching the results
              while (rs.next()) {
                   List<AttributesFromMyObject> attributeList = new ArrayList<AttributesFromMyObject>();
                   int columnCount = rs.getMetaData().getColumnCount();
                   for(int i = 1; i <= columnCount; i++){
                        //This class saves the column name/value for each object from the database
                        AttributesFromMyObject attribute = new AttributesFromMyObject();
                        attribute.setName(rs.getMetaData().getColumnName(i));
                        attribute.setValue(rs.getString(i));
                        attributeList.add(attribute);
                   //Creates the object and saves the corresponding attributes list
                   MyObject r = new MyObject();
                   r.setAttributeValues((AttributeValue[])attributeList.toArray(new AttributeValue[0]));
                   //Add each object to the arraylist that will be returned at the end
                   myObjectList.add(r);
              //UNTILL HERE IT TAKES ABOUT 125 ms
              return (MyObject[])myObjectList.toArray(new MyObject[0]);
         } catch (Exception e) {
              throw new AxisFault ("Unknown error: " + e.getMessage() + " - " + e.getStackTrace());
    }And here's a method from the client that saves the resuts from the Web Server
    * The method sends a query sql to the Web Server and save the results
    public void getMyObject(){
         //This is from a library that i'm using to generate SQL
         Table dbTable = new Table(tableName);
         select = new SelectQuery(dbTable);
         select.addColumn(dbTable, "*");
         select.addCriteria(new InCriteria(new Column(dbTable, "[idObject]"), ids));
         //Create request object to the Web Server
         GetMyObject getMyObject = new GetMyObject();
         getMyObject.setQuerySQL(select.toString());
         //FROM HERE
         MyObject[] rList = this.webService.getMyObject(getMyObject).get_return(); //Response from the Web Server
         //TO HERE -> IT TAKES ABOUT 36 seconds IF I'M GETTING THE 4000 OBJECTS
    }And here's a bit of the soap response that i'm getting (from a total of 82600 lines generated):

  • Render times very slow on new Mac Pro and Premiere CC

    Hi there
    I have a brand spanking new Mac Pro  (specs below) working off a G Studio r 24 TB array. Rendering anything in Premiere is taking an age (2 minutes timeline is taking 30 minutes). I am cutting 4k Sony F5 footage (XAVC). I have done tests with 1080 material and this doesn't make any difference.
    I have spoken to Adobe support and reset permissions plus all the basic workarounds suggested: but there has been no improvement. I was due a call back but have not heard anything.
    Can anyone suggest a solution - i have several important deadlines coming up, and can't really deal with the downtime.
    I understand 3rd party apps take longer, but even with PP effects, rendering is taking way too long: especially with a super fast system like this.

  • Keystroke response time very slow

    This problem seems to be getting worse.
    It is not application dependent.
    I'll start typing and no on screen response. I'll continue to type and it will "catch up."
    I do use a wireless keyboard.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Norm,
    I know it can be annoying to have your Mac's keyboard be unresponsive for intervals such as you describe. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
    Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues
    In particular the section labeled Keyboard or mouse intermittently stops responding.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • VERY slow performance with CS4 + Save for web

    Note: I have done a search for similar issues but can find nothing regarding CS4 and this particular issue. I'm using a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz w/4GB of RAM and resources are aplenty when the issue occurs.
    Issue
    My problem is that under certain circumstances the 'save as web' function can take upto 3 minutes before the diaglog box appears. I've had this for some time but only in the last couple of days did I notice something that might be relevant:
    Works
    1. Open 3 large TIFF files @ 120mb approx (mine are 3 processed RAW files from Capture One / 4200x5600@300dpi)
    2. Create a new adjustment layer for each image
    3. Resize each image to 72dpi @ 800x600
    4. Run a SmartSharpen & flatten layers
    5. In each tab (for each image) do 'save as web'
    6. 'Save as web' dialog appears in expected time
    VERY slow
    1. Open 3 large TIFF files @ 120mb approx (mine are 3 processed RAW files from Capture One / 4200x5600@300dpi)
    2. Create a new adjustment layer for each image
    3. Resize each image to 72dpi @ 800x600
    4. Run a SmartSharpen & flatten layers for each image
    5. In first tab do 'save as web'
    6. 'Save as web' dialog appears in expected time
    7. Close this document (tab)
    8. Go to the next image (tab) and do 'save as web'
    9. Dialog box can take anything from 20secs to 3mins to appear.
    10. Close this document (tab)
    11. Go to the last image (tab) and do 'save as web'
    12. Dialog box can take anything from 20secs to 3mins to appear.
    As I can easily go through this process for 50-60 images you can imagine that it can waste over an hour of my time waiting for Photoshop to get it's act together. I assume it's something todo with memory allocation, or that it's processing previews for all three tabs on the first 'save as web', but in any respect it's very annoying. There seems nothing obviously wrong resource-wise at the time of doing these.
    Would be interested if anyone else has this issue!
    Thanks!

    I had the same problem when I setup a new computer this week. Here's what I had installed:
    Photoshop CS5
    Suitcase Fusion 3
    The problem was that when I was in Photoshop and used the "Save for Web" export screen, the dropdown menu for the different export types (JPG, PNG, GIF, etc) would take an extremely long time to update the preview of the graphic.
    After a few days of research , I found that Suitcase was conflicting with Photoshop. Here's how you fix the problem (or at least here's what I did with my situation):
    Open Suitcase
    Go to "Tools", click "Manage Plugins"
    Deactivate the Photoshop plugin
    This fixed the problem immediately and now my Photoshop" Save For Web" feature is working really fast. Hope this helps anyone else in the same boat.

  • Help to increase exporting time?

    I have been working on several animated videos (in CS6) for the last few weeks but as of last night, the exporting times have slowed down by up to 4x the usual speed. I am on a very tight deadline and hoping someone can help? I am working on a Mac Pro. Thanks

    Hope this helps... answered the questions as best I could
    What version of After Effects? Include the minor version number (e.g., After Effects CS5.5 with the 10.5.1 update).
    CS6 11.0.2.11
    Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
    YES
    What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
    MacPro OS X Version 10.8.2
    Processor: 2x2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory: 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".
    Multiple.. Mainly Photoshop CS6 compositions as well as .png files and 1 H.264 in .mov container
    If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
    N/A
    What were you doing when the problem occurred?
    I am [trying] to export my composition. The full composition is 12min42sec but I have started trying to do sections at a time and am currently export 1min56sec of the composition
    Has this ever worked before?
    YES. I have export 5 similar compositions prior to the current one.
    What other software are you running?
    None while exporting.
    Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
    Yes - Auto Lip Sync
    Tell us about your computer hardware. Include CPU type and number of processor cores, amount of RAM installed, GPU, number of disk drives, and how any external drives are connected.
    See above for Processor and memory info.
    Startup Disk: Macintosh HD
    Additional External Hard Drives: 1, connected with Firewire (I am not exporting out or from this hard drive but am using files from it)
    Do you have any third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU)?
    Are you using OpenGL features in After Effects?
    Not that I am aware of, no
    Does the problem only happen with your final output, RAM preview, or both?
    Mainly with final output
    Are you using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing?
    I haven't been but just turned it on for this last export
    What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking?
    File, Export > Add to Render Queue, Settings for Render: Best Quality, H264, Render... wait

  • LR4 - Anyone notice slower export times - RAW to JPG?

    I read through the "Lightroom 4 is slow" thread - very good reading. I have noticed many of the same issues & hope Adobe is paying attention to that thread!
    No one mentioned a slowdown in exporting RAW files to JPG. My average time for exporting Canon 7D CR2 files to full sized 300dpi JPGs in LR 3 is about 5.3 seconds per file. The same exports in LR 4 are about 8 seconds per file.
    I can learn to live with this increased exporting time. I'm curious as to whether anyone else is experiencing this.

    Yes.  For me, Canon G12 & 40D RAW files are taking twice as long to export under LR4 than under 3.6 - 16 secs vs 8 secs after the same processing.  But I am also seeing the same general latency problems identified in other threads here.  I've reverted back to 3.6 after trying every possible workaround posted so far - LR4 is unusable for me.

  • CS6 After Effects PNG export very slow - Not Multi-Threaded?

    I am rendering an after effects project consisting of over 320,000 source frames of 4000x4000 resolution, outputting over 250,000 frames as PNG files.
    Rendering is instant on our machines, all time is spent "compressing and writing" frames. It is taking forever.
    We have several machines that are all windows 7, with 16 physical cores, 64GB ram, connected to a 4Gbit SAN.
    I did some experimenting, tried using all 16 cores, or 8 cores, or disabled multi-frame rendering even. When this project is rendering my cpu usage is almost non existent,. maybe 1%-5%  at times.
    with 16 frames at a time being rendered it is averaging between 1 and 7 seconds per frame depending on the content of the frame.
    Does Adobe have any plans to multi-thread the PNG exporter? or is there a faster 3rd party plugin out there i could use? It is very slow and doesn't tax the CPU's at all. Even on a single core it doesnt even use 100% cpu while its saving.
    I even tried loading one of the frames into photoshop and simpy hit save as a PNG and it took almost 15 seconds to compress and save. I did it again without compression and it saved the 40MB raw file instantly.
    That is terrible performance for machines like mine that are pretty much the fastest things out there.
    Thanks!

    I appreciate your attempt for a workaround solution, however as you well know you can't render to a video file from multiple machines. we must output directly to individual frames, I setup 8 machines to work on this project, if we did not use compression then we would be writing over 300MB/sec of data which would not be good for our fibre network which unfortunatly is only 4Gbit. And it would be about 10TB of data total.
    As for your workaround Im not sure we could gain speed with your method either way. spending the extra time to encode to a lossless format and then process again in AME sounds like it would take even more time, unless AME could create PNG files at some sort of ridiculous speed maxxing out every core at 100% or something to compress the PNG's. Out of curiosity I will throw some frames at AME and see how long it takes to compress and how much cpu it will use.
    thanks
