EXPORT to AVCHD?

I have a Panasonic SD1 camera that shoots in MTS AVCHD files. I am able to load them into Premier Elements 7 and edit them but how can I Export them back to AVCHD file to be played either directly on my PC in HD or on a BLU RAY PLAER that support AVCHD. when I was finished I seleted SHARE and I see you can export the h.264 but is that AVCHD format?
Thanks...

Hi Dave,
Could you tell me the specs of your computer that your editing on? Wanna make sure my Alienware quadcore can handle editing AVCHD. HAve you had any problems? Do you transcode before you edit? What kind of camera do you have.
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.

  • AVC H264 720p60 video with AC-3 asynchronous after exporting as AVCHD using Pre11

    Dear community,
I am currently facing a problem concerning asynchronous video and sound after rendering AVC files including H264 codec at 720p60 and AC3 sound as well as multiple stereo tracks.
The video is recorded using Hauppauge Hauppauge HVR-5500HD to record DVB-C.
After editing (only cutting, no effects) and exporting as AVCHD 720p60, vbr 2pass, I get gradually increasing asynchronity. Some exports are at the beginning perfecty synchronous and get more and more asynchronous (until reaching a peak of approximately 5 minutes delay of video at a 2 hours export), others have the delay at the beginning and are perfecly synchronous at the end.
However, that issue doesn't occur with all souce files, only with some random ones! (Unfortunately the most!)
Here is the output of the souce video using MediaInfo (1 example out of many similar ones):

I think there could be a problem with the pre-settings!
As i did buy PrE11 only for editing this and similar videos I would be very pleased if someone could help me solve my issue.
(Please don't tell me that I should buy Adobe Premiere Pro or any other version as them are much too expensive for my purpose and as PrE11 should be capable to do that job.)
    Best regards

Just tested your suggested codecs. Works fine (at least on a 51s clip).
Only disadvantage: WinTV v7 (shipped with the TV card) refuses to show any image (just black screen)!

  • Adobe Premier Elements 12 - Exporting trimmed AVCHD files from the project timeline, to a separate folder for burning to Blu Ray disc with other software?

Hi, can anyone help please.  This is the first time I have used this forum.
I use Premier Elements 12, a PC, 64 Bit, Windows 7, high powered computer.
Just started trimming AVCHD in this software.
I would like to know if it is possible to export trimmed AVCHD files to a folder elsewhere (files which were originally imported into the project timeline), so that I can burn the trimmed AVCHD files (not in 'Project' form)  to Blu Ray disc (using another software which I know that works to burn video files to Blu Ray disc).

    Kathy
Thanks for the update. Your progress sounds very good.
Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 are similar. But, version 13 has significant feature removals and a new Elements Organizer.
So, when viewing or reading tutorials, try to determine the version of the program being used for the tutorials. As I typically write
principles tend to remain the same from version to version, but the features tend to move, change, or be discontinued from version
to version. And, it is frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature.

  • Edited AVCHD video to export in AVCHD codec

I transfer AVCHD material from the Panasonic HDC-SD300 camcorder to Final Cut Express to edit the video. After editing in HD I would like to export the finished HD video (including audio) in AVCHD Codec to a SDHC card. The content of the SDHC card could be transfered with an AVCHD compatible SDHC tool (BD player with SDHC card reader or directly HD TV set with SDHC reader) to a HD TV set.
Any proposal, how to get the edited HD exported in AVCHD codec/format ?

    Hello skalicki,
thank you for your answer. May the difficulty is AIC. To transcode AIC to AVCHD is surely not the best way. As long as Apple is using AIC for FCE, it will be certainly not easy to get an AVCHD export option. I understand you have also an AVCHD camcorder. I think it will make sense to get after editing the option to export the video material in AVCHD. You could load the video material to a SDHC card and than you are able to transfer the AVCHD material via a SDHC reader (BD player with card slot or even directly a LCD TV set with card slot from Panasonic) to the HD TV set.
I am still hoping, somebody has a solution..............

    Hi gamapa.
iMovie 6 does not support the AVCHD codec.
    See this link: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1807243&tstart=0
If you are using Final Cut Express, you should post in that forum for a more complete response to your question. FCE 4 does support AVCHD while FCE 3.5.x does not.

  • Exporting an AVCHD as Quicktime

I would like to export my AVCHD file (from a Sony A7) as Quicktime .mov files using Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec or Photo-Jpeg codec.
When I go to "Share"  to export,   and choose  Computer from the list, there's no Quicktime option available. I do have the most recent  Quicktime installed on my computer.
I'm am on Premiere Elements 13 (the trial version so I could see if the video would actually export to the correct format)  and am on Windows 7
I was under the impression that I would be able to export in Quicktime format.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    NZJill
If you have Premiere Elements 13 tryout on Windows 7 64 bit and latest version of QuickTime installed on this some computer, you should be seeing
    QuickTime opportunity under
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    QuickTime
If you go to the QuickTime Advanced Button/Video Tab Export Settings, you should be seeing
The GoPro - CineForm Codec in the list is one that I have added to my computer. The rest came with Premiere Elements 13 tryout.
There is no Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec, but there is Photo-Jpeg codec.
If you are not seeing the above, then...
    1. Make sure that you are running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges
    2. Reinstall QuickTime latest version if necessary.
Did you do your Premiere Elements 13 and QuickTime installs with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Please review and consider and then we can decide what next.
    Thanks.

Add On...The above screenshot are from my Premiere Elements 13 tryout on my Windows 7 64 bit computer with latest version of

As far as I know, "Matched sequence" means that you will export the file exactly the same as your sequence settings. Adobe says that you can't export to AVCHD, you can only import AVCHD but you have to export to something like MPEG 2.
So what if I export a AVCHD sequence as "Matched sequence"? Will the final export be a AVCHD file or something different?
How do I check if the exported file is a AVCHD file?

Where it says "Format" that would be the exporter you'd want to use from Premiere Pro or AME.
    1.Youtube.
Format: H.264. There is a preset for YouTube 720p that you can use as a baseline; increase the dimensions to 1080p, change the frame rate, and I set the bit rate to 8mbps target/10mbps maximum for my YouTube 1080p uploads. Save this as a preset so you can reuse it later.
    2.Delivery for TV broadcast.
That's hard to answer; every broadcaster will want different deliverables. You'll need to check with their requirements. I deliver everything from H.264 MP4s, Avid MOVs, DV AVIs, and HD MPEG2 files--it's sort of a mish-mash so it's not really possible or practical to give you a set number of parameters for this one.
    3.Archival use on my computer.
You could use an uncompressed AVI or MOV (Format: Microsoft AVI/QuickTime, Codec: None), but they will be very large files. Why not just keep the footage and the project file? You could also try a lossless codec like the Ut Video Codec Suite or (my preference) Lagarith Lossless Video Codec. Both are free, Windows-only, and appear as codecs under Microsoft AVI. They're both good; they'll be big files as well, but not quite as big as uncompressed.
    4.To burn to DVD.
    5.To burn to blue ray.
Premiere Pro has specific exporters for both of these; check out Format: MPEG2-DVD for DVD and Format: MPEG2 Blu-ray or H.264 Blu-ray for BD. You can also just send your sequence to Encore and let it pick the best settings based on your desired output format; select your sequence and go to File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Send to Encore.
6.To upload and sell the footage on a website like shutterstock.
Just like #2 above, you'll need to check with the specific stock service what their requirements are. They should be pretty simply spelled out, and then you can choose the format and codec based on those requirements. Googling for the particular service and other users' experiences would help, too.

  • Best way to export from AVCHD to highest quality possible

    Hello,
I just got the Canon HF200, a AVCHD Camcorder and new to Premiere Pro CS4.
Does anyone have the time and is willing to explain what would be the best way to export AVCHD source material after editing ?
I'm interested in the best quality you can get out of AVCHD.
It would be nice to have a list of the settings in Premiere to be customized (i.e. setting up new project, exporting format settings and so on) to have the best quality of the footage exported.
    Thanks in advance
    best regards
    checop

Geezus the guy just wants a simple answer.
MASTER FILE / FOR YOUR BLU RAY PLAYER / ARCHIVAL
    1) use the Bluray H.264 preset to get a Bluray master. Best quality, takes a while to encode though.
Unless it's a five hour movie I'm pretty sure it'll fit on a BD disc.
GENERAL RULE OF THUMB FOR ARCHIVAL AND MASTER FILES: try to match the final product with your source file.
If your source is H.264/AVCHD export in that format too (In this case, Bluray H264 preset)
If it's 1080i then export as such
If it's 24Mbps then use that bitrate to export as too. Etc. etc. etc.
Now that's for archiving - getting the best looking Master file. Uploading  your movie to the web is different...
IF YOU'RE GOING TO SHOW YOUR MOVIE ON THE WEB
    1) use that Bluray master (or encode directly from your CS 4 timeline if you have the time) to WMV.
Choose the NTSC setting and then customize it.
640 x 360 or 575 x 324 sizes are good; Make sure to use the SQUARE pixels option since the sizes here are figured for that. Keyframes every 2 seconds, or every 5 seconds if there's not a lot of movement and background business going on. In the 1000 - 1600 kbps range is good (larger dimensions = higher bitrate).
    Audio 96/44 is fine.
Choose 2 Pass Variable Bitrate for best quality/size ratio.
If you're using CS4 it'll automatically deinterlace when you encode to WMV. In other programs you need to check "Deinterlace".
    2) Flash (FLV) is popular too. Same sizes, you can get away with lower bitrates than WMV. Requires special players either on the web or on the users' desktop so only do this if you feature the movie on your site and you know how to make a SWF file with your FLV embedded.
Lost me here? Then just forget Flash for now.
Other Primer Notes (VERY GENERALIZED SPEAKING):
Forget MPEG 1. Bad quality/size ratio compared to WMV.
Use MPEG 2 for archival purposes, but use high bitrates (like 1920 x 1080 @ 24 Mbps or similar. )
Quicktime is good for archiving too but takes a long time to encode on PCs. Not worth it for web delivery anymore... although there will be Mac fanatics disagreeing with me right now.
    Hope this helps

  • Export from AVCHD looks like THIS: (image embedded) I've tried EVERYTHING

I'm using a Sony HDR-XR500V and importing using Apple Inter. Codec 1920x1080i60 in log and transfer and in "Canvas" in FCE, it looks GREAT, the motion is perfect.
However, no matter how I export (this was Export with Quicktime, uncompressed, size 1920x1080, but I've tried EVERYTHING) it looks like this. In Quicktime, I can hit "de-interlace" but it ghosts instead. I've tried de-interlace in exporting too.
In the original AVCHD files, and in Canvas on FCE, I can read the writing on everything, and I have not yet been able to export in any format where I can read the writing on the stones.
The exported files look like this on my PC as well... HELP!
PS... this was an image export from QT.

Well, as I said, it's not like that in the original AVCHD files, nor is it like that in the Canvas on FCE, so what do you mean when you say "That's the way the material is shot."?
I'm exporting my edited project to a file so I can stream it to my Sony Bravia TV in 1080.

  • Premiere Pro Export of AVCHD 'Shaky' Effect

    Hi!
I'm working in premiere pro natively with AVCHD footage. I haven't had any problems editing in premiere, everything looks great, but when I export the sequence I get this strange 'shaky' effect specifically on my effects such as dissolves or text or adding movement to a photo. I made sure 'Frame Blend' is unchecked, I tried clicking 'always deinterlace' and 'flicker removal' but those didn't help either. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry to hijack the thread, as I am in a similar boat. I am working on an ongoing project. I have cut a concert, then created a trailer all done in PP3. I brought in the song files from the concert(quicktime 960x720 raylight encoded) created clips that I wanted to use for the trailer and added some overlay titles. I need to export H.264 and used a custom setup that I have used many times already. When I go to export it gets 3 frames from the end and says "unknown error" I have been reading through the forum and many posts state there may be a corrupt clip. I went through and removed 1 clip at a time from the sequence and exported, every time it will stop. I disabled the text overlays with the same result. I disabled the audio track with the same result. I exported the movie to an uncompressed AVI and started a new project(DVCProHD 720P24) with that and the audio file created in Audition. Tried exporting to H.264 with the same failed results. As I said before I have used H.264 with no issues many times before.
Additional history with this is, earlier this week I encountered the problem of the Media encoder not showing up. I followed the instrucions for the fix and that is working correctly now. I also saw notices of people having issues with various versions of quicktime, specifically v7.4 and higher, I am running V7.6(472)quicktime pro. I was going to revert to 7.3 but on the uninstall it stated that I will loose the pro capabilities(can I just put the serial number back in?), so I did not revert. All other export functions work correctly.

  • Premiere elements13 cant export mts2( AVCHD h.264avc)1920x1080p 50fps? only 25fps?

Im exploring my new program and some things are seems to be disapointing:
Im always pre-edit al the film parts; cut then clean of useless frames. and rename them  te keep them in order of shootingtime for furter editting to a standalone movie or/and place the smal movieparts between the photo's in logial order and export this in to a presentation.
That was the main gool to buy photoshop&premiere pack.
But for some reason i can't export the edit parts in the same quality as the source (no rendering needed)
The max quality i can find is 1080p 25 fps..! (AVCHD file. So i lose 50% of my material!
    Thats not funny anymore
Do i look in the wrong places or is this something that adobe needs to be added into premiere elements?

First project with my new program
The automatic presentation from the organisor isn't my thing so im did the manual by Premiere:
I wanted a holiday edit in Premiere and imported the files (photo's and video) ; 271 files and let say four of them where video parts.
ending up with 36 min. presentationvideo./homemovie
step 1- opening up Organisor to see what i've wrote there under the photo's (using for copie and pasting while making plaine text by al photo's that needed that.)
(premiere did crash a few times to the proces of adding text in the photo's , was not responding anymore and i had to restart and reload project and do some work again.) not funny
(its do-able but very time consuming and im thinking to reconsider the amount of text added to the photo's)
step 2- make some background music and edit volume around the video parts.
(used at first one of the standards and exented this til the end, but after watching halfway  of my project was going the right way it was to anoying so i deleted this and put some real music underneed. (mutch better.)
step 3- This part is lets say, a bit screaming for improvement: getting al the transisions between the photo's and videoparts piece by piece.
It was hand cracking  mouse movement for hours. (simple calculation: 271 files is 270 transisions....every transision needs 4 to 5 mouse clicks arrrggghhh)
Well did a little help  reading and something solves them self:>
Apply a default transition in the Expert view timeline
Do one of the following:Right-click/ctrl-click the selected clips, and select Apply Default Transition Along CTI.
To select non-consecutive clips, Shift-click each clip.
To select consecutive clips, click in the Project Assets panel, and drag a marquee around the selected clips.
To select all the clips, press Ctrl-A.
Select one of the following options:
    Audio
    Video
The transition is applied to all the selected clips.
I hope that i was missing something (yes i did big time ) and that this can be done in a automatic way  : choose one transision and let it placed between all files.
(do some replacement here and there  for fun, done.)
Step 4 go through the hole project to see of everything is in the correct place. Render.
    and produce:
Mpeg4 and avchd h264 to see of there is any diverence.

  • How to export RAW AVCHD?(same as source)

Basically Im trying to do a test with some AVCHD footage I have. I only have a 30 sec clip at 80 mb and I want to do a test on that same footage if it was say 15 mins long
I wanted to throw it in the time line, repeat the clip until the 15 min marker and export it making it around 2.4 gb.
How do you export it to match what my original AVCHD footage was exactly? In otherwords how to you spit out video in the exact same format you imported in CS5?

  • Export video  - AVCHD Problems

    Hi all.
I'm managing m2ts files coming from Canon HF10 with PE7. Import and editing works fine; now I need to create AVCHD disc structure to copy it on HF10 SD, so I can play video on my FullHD TV.
I export video timeline using H.264 1920x1080i 30fps template (the same project configuration): the result is video.m2t file.
Using tsMuxer software, I'm importing video.m2t to generate AVCHD disk structure but I have to change m2t suffix to .ts suffix otherwise tsMuxer refuses to import the file; I take a look at video.ts properties: codec MPEG-2 1920x1080i is shown. I'm expecting H.264 codec, what's wrong???
I try to create AVCHD Disc structure anyway, but HF10 is not able to detect any scene.
I've tried Nero 9: import video.m2t file generated da PE7, I go head to create AVCHD disk but Nero starts to re-encode the video .....too much time needed......
If I import original m2ts files without editing in PE7, Nero doesn't re-encodes videos and takes few minutes to generate AVCHD disc.
What is the righ configuration in PE7 to export video, avoiding re-encoding process for creation AVCHD disc?
    Thank you for any comments
    Torix09

Per Steve's question, I'd go with a BD (Blu-ray Disc). You can use either the H.264 CODEC, or the HD MPEG-2 COCEC. (Acutally, most feel that the MPEG-2 gives better quality in their tests, but also remember that all H.264 CODEC's are not equal).
For reference, here is a chart of Allowable BD Specs.
Good luck, and if you have more details on an "AVCHD disc," please share them,

  • H.264 export from AVCHD source results in slow-motion video; any ideas?

Hello, I'm trying to export a 1080i project with AVCHD footage using the H.264 Bluray profile.  The resulting video looks good, but runs in slow motion.  The starting footage is AVCHD 1440x1080 (1.333).  When I export using the MPEG2 Bluray profile, everything runs fine.  Thank you for any suggestions.

Thanks for your reply.  My source footage consists of MTS files from an AVCHD camcorder.  The files are 1080i anamorphic, so 1440x1080, with an aspect ration of 1.333 and a framerate of 29.97fps.  I used one of the AVCHD sequence templates in Premiere CS5 that matched the video files.
I'm exorting using the H.264 Bluray preset for 1080i.  I tried several of the profiles (1080p, etc), but they all end with the same bad result.  The video plays, but seems to be playing at half speed.  My 15-minute clip takes 30 minutes to play, even though the timline in VLC or WMP reports at 15 minutes.  The audio sounds fine, but stops after 15 minutes (as it should).  It's obviously out of sync, since the video is playing at half speed.
I have read a few other articles indicating it might be an issue with the way Premiere is interpreting the interlaced footage from the MTS files?  This is beyond my area of knowledge.
When I encode using the MPEG-2 Bluray profile, it works fine.  The video playback speed is normal.
My end goal is to edit my MTS files from the camcorder, encode using the H.264 profile, and place in an MKV container for playback on my XBMC-based HTPC.  I'm also considering exporting as a high-bitrate MPEG-2, then using another encoder (HandBrake, etc.) to create the x264 MKV.  Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements 10 - Export to AVCHD files?

Since the demo isn't available yet; does anyone know if I can export AVCHD directly to .mts or .m2ts files?  I might be interested in picking this up for $99 but I cannot demo it yet.  Also, what bitrate can I export to?
For example, my .mts files are 1920x1080 24p @ 24 megabit.  Would love to export in the same quality.
Lastly, does anyone know if Elements 10 does anything with the subtitles (my camera keeps the time/date stored within the .mts file as a subtitle).
    Thanks,
    Shawn

Yes, the program can create M2T files at 25 mbps, so you should see no loss of quality whatsoever if you've properly set up your project to match your AVCHD specs.
However, Premiere Elements does not read metadata like time/date, etc.
Are you sure the demo isn't available? It should be.

  • Export to avchd with menu, possible ?

    Hello,
With pe10, it is possible to export a video to avchd (not dvd, not blue ray) file with a menu ?
    Thanks

If you instead "burn" the above files to the hard disk and play them using a computer "DVD player", they look the same as though they were the original video and they have their menus.
