Export to excel 2000

I have a button to export the chart in my template to excel. It works fine on one machine that has Office 2003. But when I try to export it on a machine with Office 2000, it shows a blank spreadsheet. I tried using the Microsoft Excel 2000[xls2000] in the command export format but it doesn't work. Can't we export a 7.0 chart to older excel versions? What about csv? It did not work for me as well.

Can any one verify if it's possible to export charts in a 7.0 template to excel 2000 or csv?

  • Webi export to excel having issues.

    Hi,
I have a webi report which generates 62 mb excel file when exported to excel.
It can be saved to excel without any error but when we open the excel report it shows the error that there are some damage done to report and excel is trying to recover it.
I have tried increasing the heap size , cache size of webi report server , tried exporting to Excel 2000, 2003 and 2007 , but get the same results,
Can anybody please help me solving it soon.
I have attached the report in the attachment.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
But the problem is the report has two tabs and the number of rows is only 20000 + 4000 which is not exceeding the limit column are 22 which is also in range.
The problem i think is because of  number of hyperlinks, there are almost 15 columns and 20000 + 4000 rows with hyperlinks in the report.
When i change the properties of hyperlink to be read as text. the excel can be easily opened. and also the file size reduces to half.
Any idea about this hyperlink creating issues?

  • Bex Web - Export to Excel / Export to PDF

    Hi gurus,
    Using BI-IP.
In a web-template, I use the function "Export to Excel 2000" (or "Printable version", which generates a PDF file). The function works, except that at detailed level there is no data for input-ready columns.
Is it a known bug ?
    Thanks in advance.
EDIT : it works fine for a user of mine

  • Export to Excel will not produce more than 2000 rows

I am trying to export a sharepoint list to excel that has around 8000 items in it, however when it does...i'm only able to see 2000 entries and the other 6000 are missing.
I'm working with SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and Excel 2013.
Would anyone have some help to offer me on why this is no producting all of the entries in the list?

    Hi Jacob,
According to your description, my understanding is that only 2000 items can be exported to excel in SharePoint list.
I recommend to check if there are any indexed columns(which are enforced to have unique values) in the list.
If yes, please remove the indexes from the columns in the list to see if the issue still occurs.
For test, please export another large list to see if the issue still occurs.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • Export to excel compatable for Office 2000

    Hi guys
Could you  tell me is it the
Export to excel function is compatable for office 2000.
i am using BI 7.0  using Gui 7.0
    thanks in advance
    regards
    AK

    Hi Mauricio!
It only works on Excel versions, which can import XML. The Excel export
functionality creates an Microsoft Excel XML file and with Excel versions
2002 and higher this works. Excel 97 has no XML import - so it doesn't work at all.
    Greetings

  • Export to excel with formatting was autowrapping text in a cell

Export to excel with formatting was autowrapping text in a cell without having to check the can grow option.  When the can grow option is checked it does wrap the text however it spans multiple rows, which causes complications when trying to sort.
    It worked in:
    ProductVersion=10.0.0.533
    ProductName=Crystal Enterprise 10 Embedded
    Doesnt work in:
Crystal Reports 10.0 Service Pack 6
After the upgrade the reports did not autowrap, b/c the "can grow" option was not checked.  I believe this was fixed by "ADAPT00305137 Patch ID: 36479914
    Description:
When users export to Excel 97-2000 with the page-based format, text fields are wrapped, even when the "can grow" feature in the
Designer is turned off." .   After we turn the option to grow on it does wrap however it spans across multiple rows.  So I guess my question is there a way for it not to span multiple rows when wrapping text?

I could be wrong, but I believe the export to excel option exports the database values, and the export to HTML exports the values seen in the sheets. If the database values are stored as seconds, the Excel will see them as seconds, and the data will have to be formatted properly in Excel.
I haven't toyed around with Excel exports that much, but it might be possible to set up a template or macro in excel that would have the proper formatting, and use it when opening the Disco export.

Thanks Kumar for reply ..but I already handled it thru programmatically and we dont do this for "Export to Excel" button.. It automatically extract result data from the attached VO ....The thing that I dont understand is the binding exception upon "Export to excel" button selection..
Just fyi .. have used below query to get result data in VOImpl ..

  • Exporting to Excel - Macro Problems

For reasons unknown to us, when we export our crosstab reports from Discoverer 4i to Excel(2000 or 2003), we are getting a dialog message box warning us of the following, "The document you are opening contains macros. Some macros may contain harmful viruses. If you are sure this document is from a trusted source, Click Yes. If you are not sure and want to prevent any macros from running, click No." If we click Yes, then it will download two sheets, the first complete with drop down boxes etc and the second sheet just contains the regular crosstab report that we used to get but with formatting included, aka grey shaded columns etc. We checked the ExcelExportWithMacros pref and it is set to 0, the macro security on Excel is set to medium.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thank you

The macro warning is something that's well known when exporting to Excel. Just for grins, try putting your security at low to see if it still warns. There may be some kind of macro that gets sent with the export (this has been discussed before), but not really sure. However, many clients I've been at just accept it and click Yes. I believe it's a 4.x thing (ie: I hope it's been corrected in 10g), but haven't tried that yet to be sure.
As for the export having more than one worksheet, I believe I remember that this is also a known 'challenge' (ie: it doesn't just come out like a pivot table in 1 worksheet) and again, I'm pretty sure it's only a 4.x thing.
Also, are there 2 options for exporting to Excel for a xtab (ie: export to Microsoft Excel Workbook (.xls), Microsoft Excel Pivot Table (.xls)? If so, try each as the first is for static sheet only info and the latter exports a 'static sheet', a 'pivot table' and 'warning sheet'.
Also see metalink doc: 214075.1 for one possibility.
Also see metalink doc: 157162.1 for another idea.

  • Unhandled exception when exporting to EXCEL

    Hello,
When I am exporting some reports, Desktop Intelligence crashes (error message at the end of this post).
I work on Window XP SP2.
My Desktop Intelligence release is 11.5.0.0.
It happens when I try to save with EXCEL format (no problem with PDF or RTF).
This does not happen with the same report in Business Object 6.5 (no problem to export to EXCEL on 6.5).
I tried with Desktop Intelligence (11.5.0.0) on CITRIX Server (Windows 2003 system) and it crashes also.
I have not seen any solution already posted on forums.
    Thanks for you help.

    3. Ensure that the server and client should be on same patch levels.
    4. Might be there is some formatting changes which are not compatible with the excel DAO properties could you please test the following solution.
    1. Apply standard styles in the report and save it as excel.
    2. Reset the report from slice and dice panel and try to save it as excel.
    3. Rebuild the data cube by editing the data providers in the report.
    4. Test the issue by deleting the tabs one by one in the report and saving it as excel.

  • Exporting to Excel not functioning properly

    Dear SAP gurus,
We have an issue with regards to the Excel export from the Issue Management transaction (SOLMAN_ISSUE_MGMT).
We are able to click on Export and select the Exel export.
But when the Excel-file opens in Excel we see XML code instead of the exported data.
Any idea how we can solve this?
    Best regards,
    jpvanvlerken

    Hi all,
    The problem is already solved.
As of SAP GUI 7.0 SAP is using an Excel format which can only be read from Excel 2003 and newer.
There is a SAP Note about this. This Note explains how to set the export parameter in such a way that also Excel 97 and Excel 2000 kan be used when exporting data. The SAP Note about this is 1080608.
    Best regards,

  • Crystal Reports 9 Export To Excel 2007

    Hi All,
We are using Crystal Reports 9 designer in VB6 to create our reports.
When report is generated and siplayed on the screen, the option to export the report to Excel only gives the option of Microsoft Excel 97 - 2000. We are looking to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007.
Question: Is there any way to update Cyrstal to allow the ability to export the Crystal Report to Excel 2007?
Is there any dll that can be applied to present the Office 2007 export option capability?
I am doing this to determine if Crystal Reports 9 would be able to ulitize Office 2007.

    Hello Don,
The problem is that Excel 2007 is not offered as an option to export to to. If we upgrade to Office 2007, we need to be able to select this. The Microsoft 97 - 2000 would not work as Excel would be 2007. We don't want to have to created as Excel 2000 and then have Excel 2007 convert it. We are looking for a way to have Crystal 9 have the ability to export to Excel 2007 directly.
Is there any upgrade to Crystal 9 that would allow Excel 2007 as an export option or would we have to upgrade to a different version of Crystal? We are trying to avoid upgrading Crystal since this would require purchasing multiple developer licenses and the report would have to be recreated using the upgraded version report designer in VB6.

  • Export to Excel encoding problem

I am using SQL Developer 1.1 Patch 1 (1.1.1.25) on Windows 2000 with Oracle 10g (on Linux).
    The database has NLS_CHARACTERSET EL8ISO8859P7
    (to support Greek characters)
Although in SQL Developer the greek characters are displayed correctly in the Results and Script Output panes, when I export the results to Excel, the Greek characters are displayed as squares and other symbols:
    Example:
    The text: ΣΤΕΓΑΣΤΙΚΑ ΔΑΝΕΙΑ
appears in Excel as: £¤•“‘£¤™š‘ ”‘•™‘
(The version of the Excel I use is Microsoft Excel 2000)
I have tried many different encodings (from Tools > Preferences > Environment > Encoding) such as cp1253, ISO-8959-7, utf-8, utf-16 but the result is always the same.
The export as CSV has no problem with the greek characters.
I also noticed that the changes to the encoding in Export Data > Export File Chooser seem to be lost (if I change it and then reselect Browse... to check it, the default from preferences is shown again).
I also have the problem mentioned in another post, that when I export data to clipboard and do paste to Excel, a value such as java.io.BufferedOutputStream@8ff9a7 is only pasted.

    Hi!
I am somewhat confused as to "the next release". I am exporting to excel from a portlet in a portal page and during the export process, characters that look like boxes are displayed in the title bar on the message dialog box that pops up. For me this is just a cosmetic porblem since all of my data exports exactly as it should, but the export process does not look clean when the little boxes are displayed. So I am interested in the release you are referencing and when it will be available. I am using Portal Reports Oracle 10g on Unix.

  • Export to Excel - currency problem

    CA Forum: Exporting
I'm using Crystal Reports 8.5 with Visual Basic 6.  If I export to Excel using either the built in button on the report viewer toolbar, or using the Export function then any £ symbols are changed to $ symbols.  Regional settings are set to UK and this occurs on a variety of platforms (Windows 2000, Windows XP).Any ideas how to prevent the Export function from transposing the currency symbol in this way?

    You can use brute force.
    Create a display formula of:
    replace(totext({table.field}),"$","£")
Now use this formula instead of the database field for display purposes.
    Fugly, but functional.

  • Export to excel with maximum 65536 rows

    Hi
My reports are desinged with CR 8.5 report designer. I have some history reports that's large. When I export them to excel 2000 or 2003. It cuts off at row 65536. I did some research and it seems to me that is the max rows for excel 2003 and lower versions. I have 2007 too and it has max rows over a million now. Is there any thing I can do to make it export all my reports?
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Mary

    Hi Mary,
As you discovered pre-Excel 2003 has a physical limit of 65K rows. If you updated the exporting patches for CR 8.5 you should see the new Excel export options and what it should now do is create a new sheet for rows over 65K, but that may have been added in a later version of CR. Only other option is to export to CSV and then import to Excel as suggested.
    Thank you
    Don
