Export to Flash Grayed out

I currently have Captivate 4 and am trying to export some videos to flash.
When I navigate to File-Export-Flash the options (CS3/CS4) are grayed out and un-clickable.
I have CS5.5 installed but for some reason Captivate4 requires 3 or 4.
How can I go about exporting my videos to flash?
Is there a CS3/4 trial I can use somewhere to get this export working?
Thanks,
lmbrt.nick

Hi there,
You will get that option highlighted only when Captivate 4 is a part of Elearning Suite, that feature is for round-tripping to open your project in Flash Professional CS 3 or CS 4.
If you would like to publish your project to flash output (.swf), then click on Publish, and select the .swf and select the version (8 or 9), and then hit publish.
It will then publish your project to Flash format (.swf)
Thanks.

    items cannot be exported.
(Also, why is text in this box offscreen when left justified?)

    Good evening from Hamburg,
sadly, "some keychain items" seems to be the understatement of the year. I have not found any exportable items yet. And I have no idea why it should be impossible to export a simple Internet password, e.g., or a secure note.
In other words: "Some keychain items can not be exported." – I already read that in the help text. So please elaborate. Which ones cannot be exported (for example). What are possible reasons? Is there anything I can do about the "non-exportability" of an item? And which ones actually can be exported (for example)?

    Thanks for the follow up.
From what you wrote, you have Premiere Elements 10. Is that on Windows 7 64 bit or other. For now I will assume Windows 7 64 bit. If version 10 is on Windows 7 or 8 64 bit it is a 64 bit application running in the 64 bit system which makes it possible for full use of the 64 bit resources. That is good news especially when you are trying to take a large project to completion.
You set up the project preset in the new project dialog to match the properties of your source media. That setting directs the program to establish the right space in the Edit Mode Monitor for editing purposes. That project preset also directs the program as to what disc menu set (s, w, or hd) will be available to you in the disc menu section. The project preset also has more subtle effects on the project settings.
What is you plan for exporting your Timeline, export to file saved to the computer hard drive or burn to disc DVD or Blu-ray? Keep in mind that the setting for the project preset do not prohibit variations in the export choice under most conditions. If you post a description of your source media and how you would like to export it, I will offer some very specific guidelines on that.
If you do go the purchased book route, please try for one which is specific to your version 10. There has been a marked change in interface starting with version 11. Often principles remain the same from version to version, but features do not. And, I always write "It is very frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature."
I suggest that you start with the Premiere Elements 10 Help PDF and then decide what next.

A lot of these links that say version 10, roll over to 11.
Steve Grisetti, the moderator of this forum, writes books on Premiere Elements if you are interested in the purchased book route.
Hope the information above is helpful. Above all do not hesitate to ask if you have questions on your Premiere Elements workflow or need clarification on anything written.
    Thanks.

  • QT Pro 7 - trying to export .mpg to .flv - "export audio" option grayed out

I've opened an .mpg video in Quicktime Pro 7 and am trying to export it to Flash video. It exports successfully, but the audio (present in the original .mpg) is missing in the exported .flv file.
Investigating, when I try to export, I've clicked "options", went to the "audio" tab and found that the checkbox for "encode audio" is grayed out and unchecked. The format listed in this grayed-out window is MPEG layer III (MP3) - which I think isn't correct; this video I'm exporting is an MPEG version 1 file, with layer 2 audio.
Help! What can I do to sucessfully export video with audio?

QuickTime has never supported audio export from muxed file formats.
Use MPEG Streamclip (free) to convert your .mpg to other QuickTime formats (it doesn't export to .flv) and then export that new file to Flash.

  • Export to tape grayed out

I am a new user of Premiere Pro CS6 (migrating from Final Cut.) I am trying to Export to Tape with a simple DV clip. When I try to select Export/Tape, the "tape" option is grayed out. In the Sequence Settings, the "playback options" are likewise grayed out. Yes, I do have the specific Sequence highlighted when I try to export to tape.
The odd thing is: Premiere is having no trouble recognizing my deck and my FireWire connection. I have a Sony DVCAM deck connected by FireWire, and when I simply playback the clip from the timeline, both the video and audio playback fine, which technically means I could just Print to Tape that way, but I would much rather have the specific control of doing it through Device Control so I could record to the deck in a more accurate way.
I am running the program on a Mac Pro.
I couldn't find the answer to this in the online help or in this Forum so far, so I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

    Hi lakeivan,
What DVCAM deck are you using?  Is your device control RS-422 or firewire?  On the Mac, can you successfully assemble edit to tape using PP CS6? Specifically, if you use the "Assemble at timecode" option in the Export to Tape dialog, does PP CS6 actually play the timeline once the deck starts recording in assemble mode?
This function seems to be broken in the CS6 Windows code and I'm wondering if it's the same in the Mac version.
    Thanks.

  • Export 3D Layer grayed out (need to export my volume)

    Here's the situation.
I have a lot of single-frame DICOM files that I have loaded into layers by using File > Scripts > load multiple DICOM files. I then select all the layers and go 3D > New Volume From Layers. Everything works well up to this point - I can rotate and view the object in different render settings. It looks good.
Now I need to export this 3d object to a file I can open in 3ds max. According to the adobe help (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/WS09CA93D5-A4AE-4936-956F-3F2742FF3F91.html) I should use the 3D > Export 3d Layer. However, this option is grayed out for me; I can't click it! Why not - did I miss a step or something?
Because I got as far as creating a volume, I assume it's not a problem with the DICOM files or my method of loading them. Because the volume is already there it's a volume-related problem, as far as I can tell.
(Just to make sure it isn't a problem with my computer, I did a simple unrelated 3D postcard, and then the option was available.)

did I miss a step or something?
Volumes have no polygons, so there is nothing to export, plain and simple. Guess why in most medical viz bones and organs are still hand-modeled using conventional techniques! If it were that simple as exporting a few MRT scans from a volume, then there would be no need for that. You will need a proper tool to generate polygon meshes from volume slices and voxels. VoluMedic is for Lightwave, but I'm sure something similar and equally expensive also exists for MAX.

you can export only Projects, not Events.

  • Export to Tape Grayed Out, 4.2.1, DeckLink Extreme Card

I have tried everything I can think of and read all of the related posts and I am unable to get video output when I play back the video in Premier CS4 4.2.1
with a DeckLink Extreme Card on Win XP SP2.
The deck I need to output to is a Panasonic D5 deck with SDI inputs and w/no deck control.  For reasons related to forensics, I need to be able record the video at 10-bit uncompressed to preserve forensic details for future reference.  Tape is much cheaper and more reliable in this case than any electronic means.  A typical recording is usually 100 to 400 GB in size.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Jonathan

It may not be any good using the trial version as mpeg 4 or mpeg-2/HDV codec may not be included. (although I thought they were ?)
Regarding Encore CS5.1 which is included with CS5.5.2 , it will give you a choice of any number of codecs, but, you can choose the data speed, in the case of Canon XH A1 @HDV 1440 x 1080i it will not be mpeg 4 as that is from  an amature AVCHD at say 15mbps, choose 25 mbps @ 1440 x 1080i anamorphic as that is the rate of the XH A1 or higher as that is a professional rate and quality is retained.
Note : If you trial Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 )@ $119 AUD or less, (check for upogrades) it will have all the codecs including mpeg-2/HDV and will run on a 2GB min Duo-Core processor in 32 bit, it will run faster with a CUDA Video card (it is extremely fast with HDV, mpeg-4, H.264mov etc) . I used it occasionally as it has a very good video stabilizer at no extra cost ; CS5.5.2 needs a 64 bit computer. and you will need to buy Adobe After Effects for it's decent Stabilizer (The Warp stabilizer is now apparently included in CS6)  @ about $1550 or ProDAD Mercalli V2 Pro as a plug-in for Premiere Pro @ about $250 from Germany or ProDAD 's East Coast of USA Centre. There is no need to convert the codecs in either product for ease of editing on either timeline. You do not need to buy the Production Suite to run Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 .
I find the interface of CS5.5.2 is better and wonderfull to use, but, you will need to adapt to their Adobe's Minimum System Requirements re; Computer, and I use an CUDA approved Nividia Quadro FX 3800 which is a distinct advantage.I have been with Adobe for over 7 years since the beginning with mpeg-2/HDV and PP 1.5.1 which is still very good but, cannot handle AVCHD or H.264mov 1920 x 1080p
Good luck (CS5.5.2 is Adobe's best video editing product in 7 years)..Looks like CS6 is on the way ?

  • Export to XML is grayed out.

Hello.  I am trying to export an XML from FCPX for an editor to use in Avid.  My problem is that I highlight all the clips in the timeline and then I go to the top menu and try choose File  / Export XML and Export XML is grayed out, so I may not choose it.
Is there any reason why this feature may be grayed out.  I am using the trial version of FCPX but nowhere does it say there are any limitations.
Thank you very much for your time.

  • LM4 Previous Export Folders Grayed Out

When Exporting images in LM4 (4.0), the previous list of export folders is grayed out  and none can be selected.  You have to choose the destination folder via the Choose button.  On the next Export the previously selected folder appears in the list but, again, cannot be selected.  The Clear List is also grayed out so you cannot clear the list down.  This function worked fine in LM3.  Is this a known reported fault?

Works fine here in 4.1 RC2.

  • Export to Flash CS4

I have an interaction built in CP and it runs pretty well. However, when I exported it to Flash CS4, I lost all the interactions (it became a simply linear play)and got a big bunch of errors while previewing it.
If files exported to Flash from Captivate can not be edited in Flash, what's the purpose of providing this exporting feature then?
    Is this a bug?
Anyone has experience with attempt to edit the actionscript in Flash after exporting the CP file to Flash CS3 or 4?
    Thanks a lot.

Sounds like it might be locked to Flash CS3. Captivate 3 does
    not know
anything about Flash CS4, since it was released a long time

  • Export Audio is grayed our

    Hi all
I am trying to export an audio file to MP3 format in Sound Rack Pro, the user manual says that I can do this by choosing file and export and then choose the proper settings, but this option is grayed out, any idea why?
I have an RCA digital recorder and player that only accepts MP3 audio files from a PC via USB link.
    Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sigi

STP can only export mp3's from multitrack projects, so if you opened your file as an audio file project, the export option is grayed out. You can open a new multitrack project, put your file on a track, set your submix to stereo, and export the project as an mp3 from there.
    Hope this helps!
