Export to LOGIC - AAF crack

dear all very urgent.
How can i send my multitrack project from Soundtrack to Logic 9?
I tried exporting it as aaf, but when I open the project in Logic, the files are multiplicated x 4 times, the timeline is completely changed and it cracks afetr a while giving me error -39.
I need to preserve the cuts I made.

Hi just seeing if anyone knew the answer to this since I still haven't gotten a response. I just wanted to know the best way to export my audio out from Final Cut 6 to Logic 8. Thanks again.

Hey I have three midi tracks that I recorder and when I try to "Export Project to AAF" it says that "There's nothing to export...", why is it saying that?

Last I heard, AAF works only with video and audio.
You can export as a standard MIDI file.
(Format 1 to keep the tracks separate by MIDI channel.)

Export dump(logical backup) runing since yesterday

Hi to All,
We are taking full export dump(logical backup) of database.till last week its fine on sunday we change the password of administrator and we forgot to change to password in this scheduled scripts.and yesterday i run this backup manullay in morning and i saw its affecting our performance I cancel this task in middle only I haven't deleted that files from backup location and I had given the password in that scirpts and that scripts runing and that scripts started runing at there aproprite time but the incomplete backup is existed at backup location and the backup which started at scheduled time is runing since yesterday before its fininsh in 2 or 3 hours but know its runing since yesterday.Please give me some solution.

On windows it gets a bit hairy as there really is no clean and nice way of doing it.There are a couple of options.
1. If you can rely on dateformat not changing, you can use a static substring expression. For example, the following might work w/ finnish locale echo %date:~3,2%%date:~6,2%%date:~9,4%Similarly, when you know the dateformat you can tokenize the output of 'date /t' and discard the tokens you don't want.
2. You can set dateformat to your liking and then just use %date% in your script
3. You can run a "SELECT to_char(sysdate,..." into a file and then read that file in your script.
4. Simon Sheppard also has a solution you could use as a basis. I have a slight issue with the approach, but that could just be me.
5. Use gnuwin32 or similar ;)
Also note that %date% env var is set automatically from w2k onwards, so some of the solutions might not work w/ older versions.

Having An Issue exporting out an AAF from Premiere 8.1.0

So I'm working on a Documentary Feature Film and we're using Premiere . We are about 4 weeks away from Lock and i now have a full sequence in which i can test the AAF process, especially as this was one of the bugs which was supposed to be 'fixed' on this version. When exporting out the AAF it takes absolutley ages. I have split the Tracks up so i'm only doing 1 Track at a time, with 75 frame handles. The Film at the moment is about 2 hours and i don't think we'll be losing too much off it.
When i tried exporting out it went very slowly on the same clip. I then rendered and replaced the whole track so everything was AIF like audition converts it to anyway and repeated the process. It did the same thing so i though i'd let it go over night to see if it made it through the night. It had got further but was now having the same issue with another clip. So over 7 hours and still no AAF made.
The only way i have got it out at a reasonable rate is to send to Audition and export as an OMFI but not embedded as the file size was too large. I have a suspicion that the AIF format perhaps is causing the same issue with the AAF, although AAF shouldn't be as restricted as an OMFI. I have only ever used AAF's with Media Composer ( MXF's) and have worked on 90 minute shows and managed to send out all the tracks ( around 12) as an embedded AAF.
Is this a known bug, i looked across the forums but couldn't find anything on search. I would expect that Premiere could deal with this seeing as it has handled other Features.

I think i have found the reason for this and a workaround for it. However it would be good to be fixed in the next update !
So what i think it was was that some of the recorded sound came as a wav which was 5 mono tracks. When normally sending straight out as an OMFI or to Audition it was seeing these as a full 5 tracks each time therefore one track would be the equivalent of 5.
Workaround is as follows for future reference :
Working from a copy of the project
1)Delete all video tracks and then render and replace audio. This creates extracted audio which you then need for the next step.
2) Project manager the Sequence as it's just extracted audio it won't copy video files so should give a reasonable size folder.
3) Open the project managed project which will reference just the extracted Wav's but it also loses the tie between the combined tracks
4) Then one track at a time export out an OMFI embedded.
Weirdly the AAF was still having the same issues after this. So i believe that was a red herring. Premiere just seems to struggle embedding with an AAF. OMFI is fine though.
This is quite a roundabout way but works with no issues . Adobe please fix this, FCP and Avid work first time without all of this mucking around.

Export from logic

Can anyone suggest the best way to export from logic? I want to export a finished mp3 or wav or whatever to play in itunes. There are a number of options in the export drop down but I'm not sure which to go for. It's not quite as simple as garageband.

Exporting sessions as AAF vs OMF?

Hello,
I was able to export sessions as OMF in the previous version of Logic. Now in ProX my only option is AAF. Could someone enlighten me on the difference? I'm not sure the person I'm sharing the sessions files with can use the AAF format. Is there a way to covert an AAF file to OMF?

by the way I've successfully sent a couple of OMF files from the previous Logic.
Indeed, I have managed to do the same too in the past but then again, I also had issues at times too.. hence the 'broken' comment...
Of course, it was never available when using LP in 64bit mode as it was a 32bit only routine... Thats also why it's missing in LPX because LPX only handles 64bit routines...

What is the Better choice to export, XML or AAF?

I Know FCP does not support AAF natively. But I need to send my sequence to Avid, so my idea is export
as .xml and open it in Premiere CS5, and then export as AAF from Premiere to open my sequence on Avid.
Does anyone have a better idea? What is the best workflow to do what I need?

That's from 2004... lightyears ago.
Try your idea...but I don't know how well it will work. How will Avid connect to the media and all that.
the BEST workflow is Automatic Duck. Don't have it...get it. Simple, straightforward...and it works. You can also try Boris AAF...cheaper. I haven't tried it...I use the Duck.

Is there any workaround for exporting 24 bit AAF of OMF in soundtrack?

Soundtrack pro seems to have only 16bit AAF export function. Is there any workaround to be able to export a multitrack session in higher bit (24bit industry standard) resolution, in AAF or OMF format?
I know Final Cut has 24bit AAF export funcion, but sending clips from soundtrack to Final Cut seems not possible. Only sending mastermixes to FC is possible. But I want to send individual clips to FC.
Or any other suggestions are welcome for solving this problem.

If Premiere offers you the option to use hardware encoding, then your card is recognized. There is normally nothing more to do. If I understand you correctly, you are concerned that Premiere is not using the card. There are 2 ways to check if it is:
1. Install someting like GPU-Z (google it, it's free) to monitor the GPU. Start to encode something that will actually use CUDA cores, and you should see some activity reported, given as a percentage. Keep in mind that CUDA is only used for some specific tasks (some effects, resizing) when encoding.
2. Export a file that will use CUDA when encoding 2 times, once with hardware encoding enabled, and then with software only. Is there a difference in the time needed to complete the export?

Internal soundcard - Logic 8 - cracking sound/stop/reboot/go

I'm having issues with the built in sound card of my Macbook Pro C2D 2.2. It happens more often lately. In Logic with just a few midi tracks and one simple loop sometimes I hear a strange cracking sound coming mainly from the left side of my MBP and the sound stops. Logic keeps on playing but the internal sound just overloads. It's not that overload message. I can reboot the soundcard by making changes in the logic preferences, I click apply and I hear that cracking sound again - the built in sound works for a couple of minutes and then goes nuts again. Restarting OS X doesn't help. It is frustrating. I don't use the internal sound a lot with Logic, but I want to be ale to do so. If anyone can help on this one, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that changing the buffer size doesn't help...

Exporting from logic to finalcut pro fails

i am very new to logic
i am editing a short clip in finalcut 6
i am trying to import an xml to finalcut but it is failing
i received an email with an attached logic project
i open the project it has 7 tracks with loops about 5min length
tried exporting to xml and importing to finalcut- failed
any suggestions

If you want to keep the 7 tracks independent in FCP, then just bounce each track seperately in Logic. You'll need to do this to render your loops and effects anyway. Bounce each from the beginning of the song so when you import the files from your bin in FCP they will all start at the same place. Either find your start timecode point and snap the files to it or bring them all in, select them and snap it to your location then. Did you have a 2-pop at the beginning of the file?

Where I find this audio-export-format? AAF embedded, with 75fr handles

I have a problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC (I have the trial version). I need to export a project in this specific format:
audio: AAF embedded, with 75fr handles
video: H264, 720p
It's not a problem to find H26, 720p, but I can't find the AAF embedded, 75 fr handles for audio (I can only find AAC).
Can anybody please help me?

If you cannot directly open the GarageBand project in Logic, after you downloaded it to your Mac, open it first in GarageBand 10 on your Mac. This will create a GarageBand 10 copy of the project, and this can be opened in Logic Pro X.

Ultrabeat pattern export problem - Logic pro X

When I try to drag a pattern to the arrange window my changes to the pattern are lost and the original pattern is dragged instead (changes made are ignored).
I am taking a pattern and making changes. No matter what I do, if I try resaving the whole kit with the newly changed pattern or if I change a pattern, copy and paste to a new pattern slot... when I drag the new pattern, still the originaly pattern is copied to the arrange window. Help! (Please)
I am new to Logic Pro X, finally making the switch after a long love affair with FL studio. I am very familiar with DAW's but have to say this one has me stumped.
