Hi Nahed,
Is this problem only happening with export to pdf?
Please try and perform the following steps:
1) Go to Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs
2) Click on crystal reports 2008 and then on the Change button
3) Click on the Modify radio button and then on Next button
4) Click on the Export Support icon
5) Finally click on "Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive" and click on next.
Perform this and restart the Crystal Reports application and try to export to PDF.
Hope this helps you!

Anindita

Export to pdf is failing InDesign CS5
We have a large book (1000+ pages, 4000+ images) we are exporting to pdf to send to the printer. It takes a couple hours to process. It has worked in the past (we have beautiful 1000 page pdfs for previous edited versions). Now, however, (that we are complete with our final edit, of course) we are getting an error message (after 2 hours of work).
It goes through the process of "generating pdf..." one page at a time, then the next, then the next, processing each image one at a time - all the way to the end of the book. Then, when it gets to the end of that process, it says ... "Failed to export to pdf file"
We tried doing the book in 1/3rds, and got the same error with each 1/3rd of the book.
We don't know what is causing the issue to figure out how to fix it. Each of the chapters/files successfully exports individually.
Any ideas?

Printing error and Export to PDF error after a Quark Express convert
I are working on a catalogue that was previously made with Quark Express. I used q2id to convert over to InDesign CS3. I had some minor issues setting up the new fonts, but that was no big deal. Now that the catalogue is close to finished, I want to do some test print, however, on several of the files it start processing the printing, finish the processing of all the pages, then kills the print job and comes with the following error:
Print Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem.
Similar error happens when I try to export to PDF, this error only says:
Failed to Export PFD file
Anyone had a similar problem?? I've done a preflight but ID does not indicate any problems with the file nor its content. Is there another tool to scan the file with to find errors?? Possible fix it?? Is there a log file I could check??
In advance, thanks guys.
Working on:
InDesign CS3
Windows XP Pro, SP02
2 GB RAMThanks Ken,
Not sure how to check if we do have OPI comments on some of the images, but looks like I have found a solution to the printing problem at least.
Thanks to a respons by Peter Spier to another topic with similar problems:
Peter Spier - 4:00am Mar 11, 08 PST (#5 of 6)
The symptoms could describe document corruption rather than network issues which might fall into the category of things that can be cleared up through export to .inx.
Try exporting one or two of the problem files to interchange format, open those and save as new .indd and make a new book file. See if that behaves differently across the network.
I also found another article about INX files, that confirms this technique:
http://avondale.typepad.com/indesignupdate/2005/08/what_the_heck_i.html
"...INX can also help “clean up” problem files in InDesign CS2—if you’re running into problems, especially with files that started their lives as QuarkXPress or PageMaker files, try exporting the document as INX and then opening that file."
So, I
1. exported all files, one by one to INX or InDesign InterChanged
2. Then reopened those files, saved back as regular .indd files
3. Reopend the new file (hoping for a refreshed file and test to see if it would open without problems.)
4. Then packed the files indevidually and reopend the new packed files when done.
Alle the files now print without any problems but export to PDF still fails with the same error message.
Would the OPI comment be a problem here maybe?
Thanks!

Exporting to PDF fails for a report
Hi,
One of my reports no longer exports to PDF. When run through our ERP system it looks as if it's exporting but the progress popup window quickly dissappears. When we go to the location where the exported file should be nothing is there.
I tried opening up the report in the Crystal 11 and exporting from there. I get the following two error messages:
Failed to export the report.
Not supported
This was working yesterday. The only thing I did was to add the u2lbar.dll to the bin folder and copy over the barcode font so that we could display barcodes on this report. However, even if I comment the line to do the barcode I still get the same problem.
Thanks,
JonThe font you are using probably doesn't have embedding permissions.

Export to .pdf fails.
Tar 6388351.992
Customer is on DBI 7.0.1 and XML Publisher 5.0.0
DBI uses XML publisher to export to .pdf.
When trying to export reports to PDF, the customer gets an
"Exception in Process Method Of FOProcessor "error message.
This does not occur when exporting to Excel.
After setting up a trace we got the error message:

The problem is this URL
http://nadine1.orange.cm:8000/237/OA_MEDIA/bisorcls.gif
It should be
http://nadine1.orange.cm:8000/OA_MEDIA/bisorcls.gif
The customer has checked and this one without /237 in it works.
The customer's <db_servername> .XML file and <appl_top>/admin/adovars.env
both show the correct setting for OA_MEDIA and he has run autoconfig again.
Does anyone know where this misconfiguration could be
coming from.Hi
Please use the internal mailing list for XMLP questions the forums are meant for customers not support or development.
That said, as I remember the integration, XMLP just generates the ouput. the DBI module is in charge of where its put and how its accessed. Id suggest asking the DBI dev team for some help.

Export to PDF fails for some reports, but report viewer works
Hi all
Our application produces several different reports.
- Report A can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer control and can be exported to PDF
- Reports B and C can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer (all pages), but export to PDF fails with a very unclear error message. The stack trace is attached below.
Two days ago, reports B and C have fully worked, and I'm sure by 100% that the report templates haven't been modified since then.
Can anyone explain what is going wrong? Is there some internal logging inside Crystal Reports that can be investigated to find out about the reasons of the error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Kuno
PS.: The Crystal Libraries under investigation are quite old. In fact, it is a very old application that still runs under .NET 1.0.

please try to find out more details.
You say it is data dependent. Could you be a bit more specific. What data work or do not work ?
As a good test pls see if our samples reports work. They come with a default installation. If you do not have them any more - get them from [here|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100005852352008E/cr_xi_xtreme_rep_smpl_en.zip].
Can you display and export them ? Do you get the same error ?
Thanks in advance

"Content generation error. Failed to Export the PDF file"
Building a multi-folio in InDesign 6 Folio Builder V30. Received "Content generation error. Failed to Export the PDF file" on several of the spreads. I have tried reducing the original pdf files sizes, but that did not help.
Any suggestions on other possible causes or way to fix.?
thanks

MMNI'm very new to DPS so I hope the following description makes some kind of sense.
My magazine is in the process of doing trial runs for an iPad edition. I'm setting some templates up for us to work off so the process from magazine to iPad will run a lot smoother month to month.
So far I've set up some dummy stock pages in an InDesign CS6 document, currently 15 pages long.
All images are linked and all fonts have paragraph styles applied to them.
I'm at the stage I want to check the document on my iPad to test run font sizes and their legibility.
We have successfully been able to export the document as a jpg file but we really need the PDF format. When attempting this we get the above message.

Export the pdf from indesign some error Pop Up window (Failed to Export the PDF file). How slove the problem
Please some one help on thisYou need to try exporting the first half of the book.
If that exports ok then export the other half of the book.
Whatever half it fails on - keep dividing the book in half to find the culprit page or pages.
For example if your book is 128 pages long:
1. Export pages 1 - 63
2. If these Fail to Export then
3. try exporting1-32
4. If these Fail to Export
5. then try exporting1-16
If it doesn't fail (step 2)
Then export pages 64-128
and 64-90 etc.
until you find the pages causing the issues. -
InDesign CS5.5 Export to PDF fails how to fix?
Using InDesign CS5 to creat a portfolio, all layed out and ready to print but when I export to PDF it takes a long time and then fails.
What am I doing wrong? Is the issue with the one file only or with multiple file, if it is with the one file only then there could be some component like Image , font that could be causing the issue,
And if it with the multiple file then you can try this article:- kb2.adobe.com/cps/878/cpsid_87876.html -

Hi jfcobb999,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble converting files. Are you converting via the web interface, or through Adobe Reader? Do you have a large number of files in the root folder of your Files list on Acrobat.com?
Let's try these things for starters:
Clear the browser cache and try again.
Use a different browser.
Make sure that Reader is up-to-date by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
If you have a large number of files stored on Acrobat.com, move some of them into a subfolder.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,
Sara -
I am trying to export the PDF file and conversion fails every time.
I am trying to export the PDF file and conversion fails every time. File is too large of too complex. What do I do? One file is about 55 mb and the other is 58 mb.
Try extracting part of the file and see if the extracted part can be Exported. If so, repeat with the next set of pages. When done, try to load all into the first file.

InDesign CS5.5 Fails to export to PDF
I can't get InDesign (Mac running OS X Lion 10.7.4 ) to export to PDF. It gives me "Failed to Export to PDF" with every document I've tried. I've created new documents to test, and still gives error. I've installed the newest patch (Adobe InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3 update for Macintosh - All Languages) but still am having the same problems.
Any ideas? I've searched the internet and can't find any solutions that offer any hope. Thoughts? The last time we saw this, it turned out to be a font problem, but it could be a lot of things. Take a look at this other thread about failure in CS5.5:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4575362#4575362
Also, check to see if it works in a new user account, or if it works in the foreground (add the file to a Book, then export from the Book). -

In both cases the message is that the "Filename.pdf" failed to export. There was an unexpected problem.
The program uploads the file and attempts to convert for 5 to 10 minutes before generating the failure message.
I tried removing the check in the box that says Recognize Scanned Text In:

Crystal export to pdf windows app: logon fails -- works at other sites
There must be hundreds of these errors each seems different.
I have a program installed on 4 different networks running vb.2008 windows app with the bundled CR. It works on Vista 64 and windows xp machines. Uses sql express 2008 The following works on all of them but one (all installed with same setup disk): crystal viewer opens with a report. A button is pressed and the report is automatically exported to a folder. However in this one case all machines at one site fail (vista & xp) As I mentioned, this export functionality works on 3 other sites including development site and the reports all come up on all sites. It is just the export to pdf on all machines on one site. Plus all reports work fine at all sites. It is just the export to pdf at the one site. Hee is the error.

The same person set up all 4 networks for whats thats worth.reports work fine on all the machines and never had an error. In fact, report is up in CR viewer when user presses button to export. Error is on the crrpt.export command
by the way, actually what happens when the cr.export is executed? Maybe that may help me.

One issue that I noticed is that when there are report parameters defined they need to be in the same block as the export object setup. I in fact do have parameters that are given their value from a dataset. This is done in the form that shows the crystal viewer, but they are not in the same procedure as the export creation and the dataset for the parameters is not declared on the form level. However, the report object is declared on the form level as is the datset with the report data, so any property added to it, should be visible throuout the form including where the export occurs.
However, this would not explain why the same situation works in another location and not just on the developer machine. I also notice that the error message says it cannot find the xsd file, but it is in the proper location (other wise the report would not be viewable or printable)
How does the export work, does it create an entire new instance of the report? perhaps knowing what goes on behind the scenes would help me figure out what to do.
