  • Export to PDF Issue (SSRS 2012 with Integration SharePoint 2013)

Problem Description: We have an operational report that returns around 43,000 records, based on a stored procedure.  The Stored Procedure itself runs pretty quickly (under ~15 seconds). The report renders in 20 seconds.
However, we get an error like “Sorry, something went wrong” (see below) approximately 2 minutes after we choose/select the PDF as a rendering extension for export. The download of the .PDF never starts.

    Things Also Done
    1) I also tried exporting the report through excel and found no issues (it exports successfully and no issue when i open the file). The size of the exported excel (.xlsx) is 4.28MB. The timerendering value for export to excel is approx. 77 seconds.
    2) I also tried creating email subscription (PDF as the rendering format) for that report and it works successfully. The size of the attached PDF from the email is approx. 1.43 MB. I can also open that PDF file with no issue. And the size of the email with
the attached PDF file is approx. 1.48 MB.
That all said, we would like to seek for your assistance to determine what is causing the failure of exporting the report to PDF issue directly from the reporting site. (Let me remind you that the email subscription for the same report with attached
    PDF works with no issue)

    Hi roel2000,
According to your description, you get error when exporting the report into PDF. It works properly when exporting in excel or PDF format within E-mail subscription. Right?
In Reporting Services, the Excel and MHTML(e-mail subscription) render extensions are soft page break renderers. The PDF render extension is hard page break renderer. It has different render behavior between these two kind of renders. This might cause the
error. Since we are not clear about your report structure, please refer to rules in the link below and do the troubleshooting.

  • Crystal reports 2008 Arabic content export to PDF issue with JRC

    hi there,
I am using JRC  for our JAVA application, The report contains of partial Arabic & Englishand while viewing report arabic text is shown correct. While exporting to PDF, the arabic content  was reversed (reversed characterwise).
If I call from BO server and then exporting to pdf is fine. Only the problem is when we call the report from local.
Is there any fix for this issue? Please help.

No, seems you are the only having this problem.
Try downloading Process Monitor from www.sysinternals.com and filter on crw32.exe and then export and look in the logs to see if any permissions are denied or missing dependencies.
Be sure you are a local PC Administrator when installing also.
    Thank you

  • Export to Pdf Issue in IR

    Hi All,
I am having issues with export to pdf in Hyperion IR. I am using the following code to export a report section to pdf:
    ActiveDocument.Sections["R-Pdf_Report"].Export("C:\\Temp\\Report.pdf",bqExportFormatPDF)
It exports the report to pdf but the pivots in the report appear to be in a messed up format. The lines are omitted randomly and the pivot border appears to be broken at few places. When I print it, the format of the pivots comes out perfectly fine. Just that when the user sees it in the soft copy pdf format, it appears funky.
Can anyone suggest what a fix for this could be?
    Thanks.

Open the analysis, go to the Results tab.
On the top of the Results tab,  click the 5th icon from left. A popup window will open there u can Set the orientation to “landscape” and save the analysis.
    Mark if helps,
    Thanks,

  • Exporting to PDF Issues (color)

I have a series of INDD CS6 files I'm exporting to PDF.  Each file includes an identical linked image (our corporate logo).  When exporting, all files export perfectly except for one.  On that one, everything is exporting to color except the logo, which is gray scale.
As mentioned, the original linked image is identical.  PDF exporting set-up is identical.
    I'm baffled.

could be some minor file corruption--try this--make a 'new' document (same size) - then in questionable document--select all--then copy/paste in place in new document--then try exporting again

  • Exporting A PDF issue

I've built an dialog window (figured out my issues with the ui from the last post). I'm having a problem exporting a file via a button "export"
when I leave the code outside a function, it works fine. Builds the PDF with the preferences on build of the dialog.
    with(app.pdfExportPreferences)
            exportGuidesAndGrids = true;
            exportLayers = true;
            exportNonPrintingObjects = false;
    myDoc.exportFile(ExportFormat.pdfType, new File(myPath+"/filesname.pdf"), false);
When I put it in a onclick function, or call a named function from the onclick I get errors. What am I doing wrong, and How can I get it to work with a button selection?
       Thanks

Well I'm using extendscript toolbar, Im not getting any error messeges just an orange bar telling me where the errror is (tried to find that to turn it on so I could actually know what the error is)
We can assume that the window is open. The button in the window trys to call the function while its still open. Can I have a widow open and export? I did try a close as the first command for an onclick function, followed by the eport but it still gives me an error

  • Exporting to PDF Issue

I have a Report that was created using Crystal Reports XI Developer. The report prints invoices (text) and also images (blob values).  The report uses the oracle OCI database driver.
When I run this report from Crystal Reports XI Developer and export it to a pdf, the size of the pdf is around 12 meg.
When I run this exact same report but using Crystal Reports for Eclipse and change the datasource programatically to use the oracle jdbc driver, the size of the pdf is  around 56 meg!
What would cause such a drastic file size change?  Both pdf files have the same number of pages so the reports look identical.
    Things to note:
         Database: Oracle 10g
Crystal Reports For Eclipse : 1.0.2.v795
I used the "JRCExportReport.java" as an example to programatically export       the report to a pdf.
Any help would be greatly appreciate
    Marty

Crystal Reports Designer (crw) and Crystal Reports for Eclipse (cr4e) use different PDF export engines, so there isn't an equivalence in performace.
Generally, I find that text-only PDF from cr4e is smaller, since it doesn't subset fonts, but indexes them, but image and chart intensive PDF from cr4e is larger, since it doesn't compress images down as much as crw.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Export To PDF Issue

I have an old server (Windows Server 2003 x86) that I used to export lots reports as PDFs and it has worked perfectly.  The new server is now setup (running Windows Server 2008 R2 x64), and the export seems to have gone haywire.  I am using Crystal Reports 2008 and an .NET 4.0 application using the CrystalDecisions version 12 libraries.
The report is 1 page long, 8.5 x 11, but when exported to a pdf it is spreading across 3 pages with lots of white space including an entire blank page at the end.  This only happens when running it on the server through either a web application, or windows application.  I am able to actually preview the report in Crystal, view and export and it looks good.
Any ideas what would be changing the report into a 3 page pdf?  I have installed the correct merge modules, Crystal Reports 2008 and it hasn't help.
    Thanks,
    Eric

No, the report is created using the standalone Crystal Reports 2008.  The .NET application just references the libraries that exports the report.  The report is used by a couple different applications, so it doesn't live inside one of the projects.

  • Font Rendering issues in export to PDF-SSRS

    Hi,
Its a very strange issue,I am facing from last two days.
I have created a report having text with Gill Sans MT font.I am able to see the text in the mentioned font properly on report server as well as on my development machine.
Issue occurs when I export the report to PDF, as when i open the report in acrobat reader to view the font of the rendered text,it shows the font as Gill#20Sans#20MT which causes the text rendering up in Arial(default font).
If I Export from Word document the font is set as GillSansMT i.e name without spaces and text is rendered in correct font.I have installed the required font on both the locations i.e. report server as well as Development environment.
    Thanks & Regards,
    AS

    Hi Anand Sardesai,
Since the Gill Sans MT font is not been installed on the production server at first. Please make sure the font is installed correctly and that font embedding is granted font. If the referenced font is not installed on the report server, the resulting PDF
file might not contain the correct mappings and might not display correctly when viewed.
    Reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159713(SQL.100).aspx
Alternatively, I recommend you reboot the server try to resolve the issue. There is a similar issue for your reference:

  • SSRS Table/Row Header does not repeat on every page when exported to PDF

Hi, I have a SSRS Report in which the rows are grouped and the Tablix has a Table/Row header. I wanted the header to repeat on every page for a group because sometimes the data from the group would be more than one page.
                                   To achieve this
                                   - I went to Advance mode by clicking the arrow next to column group
                                   - Selected the Header Static column from Row Group
                                   - Changed the following properties
                                                    - KeepWithGroup: After
                                                    - RepeatOnNewPage:
    True
                                                    - The header columns
    are set to not grow.
The problem only occurs when the nested grouped data in one of the columns goes over a page. The following pages don't have any header.
So half of the time the header row repeats but when the nested grouped data extends over one page the header does not show. Problem only occurs when rendered to pdf.
I found this line "Headings are repeated on each page only if there is sufficient room" in SQL 2008 version. But I could not find it in later versions of sql server. So does that mean it is fixed

    Hi Mumblesnz1,
According to your description, you specify value of RepeatOnNewPage as True in the report. When exporting the report to PDF, one grouped data extend over one page, and tablix header display on first page, not repeat on following pages.
As we tested in our environment(SQL Server 2008(SP3)-10.0.5520.0(X64)), it works as you required. We set KeepWithGroup as After and RepeatOnNewPage as True. After exporting to PDF, the grouped data display on two pages, and tablix header repeats on each
page. Since we haven’t found any document mentioned this issue is fixed on which version, I suggest you try to install the service pack 3 for sql server 2008.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best regards,
    Qiuyun Yu

  • SSRS export to PDF errors out with one specific data set

I have a SSRS report that fails to export to a PDF file with a particular set of data.  The PDF export works great with every other set of data  that we have run through it. The suspect report/data can be viewed fine and exported to other formats
    without issues.
It almost appears that the PDF export has issues with how the data falls on the page.  If I change the top/bottom margin size, increase the length of the report by adding whitespace or increase/decrease the size of the header/footer, the report will
export to PDF without any issues.
We are currently using SQL Server 2008, SP3 CU12.
This is the error log that occurs for the export:

    Hi GravityJunky,
Based on the error message, the object reference is not set to an instance, it is typically caused by one or more of the following reasons:
There are soft page breaks within empty lists in the report.
There are hidden groups within the report and you tried to export it to PDF.
There are text boxes with a width and/or height of zero in the report.
A text box is either hidden or the NoRows property is set to true.
A text box spans table cells where some cells have a collection of null values.
The report has static columns and/or rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true.
The report has static columns and/or rows and there are grand totals in the report.
The report has static column headings and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true.
The matrix report has multiple columns and rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true and you tried to export to PDF.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Review the specific error contained within the message and then, depending on the message, review your report.
If the problem is related to soft page break issues, try increasing the page height, reducing the first row height, or reducing the number of header rows.
If the problem is related to errors when rounding the image size up or down, try slightly increasing the page header height so that it is different than the image height, or try changing the image size to fit better.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

In the Group property, go to Page Break Page Break Option Check the box for “Between each instance of a group” and “at the end of group”.
Right click on the Tablix go to Tablix property. Tablix property windows comes: Check “Add Page break after” and in column header, check “Repeat header columns on each page.”
Step5.After implementing Page Break and Grouping, run the report and export it to PDF.
    Thanks.
