Export to VOB - ready to burn

Am I missing something or it is really not possible to export timeline to DVD - VOB (VIDEO_TS folder, ready to burn)?
Currently I'm exporting final sequence into AVI, then converting it to VOBs using GV ProCoder.
CS4 is exporting to mpeg which again can not be directly burned to standard DVD.

The direct authoring/burning function was removed with CS3, when Encore was first included in PrPro.
As the others have said, Encore (now included) is the application for authoring/burning.
Good luck, and if you have any Encore questions, Adobe has a great forum for that application, HERE.

Thanks for asking for clarification. Appreciated. I did not see you post 8 until after I posted my post 9.
Important that we define the issue as being related to just preview or to preview and export.
    Project Preset....
When you start a new project, a project preset (project settings) need to be set by you or the project. The program
is designed to do that based on the properties of the first video file that you drag to the Timeline. Sometimes the program
does it right, sometimes not. If not, then you set the project preset manually assuring that the description of the project preset
matches your video properties for at least frame size, frame rate, etc. A major function of the project preset is to direct
the program to give you the correct space in the Edit area monitor for editing. If you select a project preset which includes
1920 x 1080 in its description, then the space in the Edit area monitor will reflect that 16:9 format.
If you or the program have set the correct project preset, then, when you drag your video to the Timeline for the first time, there
will be no colored line over its content. That means that you are getting the best possible preview in the monitor. Once you
edit that video, you will get an orange line over it. That is the program telling you that you no longer have the best possible preview
and to get it you Timeline render using the Render button above the Timeline. When that Timeline rendering is complete, the orange
line turns to green. That is the program telling you that you have the best possible preview which will be in effect until you edit the
file again. Then orange to green again.
Right now I would prefer to stay with trying to get your photos to an acceptable preview stage. No matter what the project preset,
these will need Timeline rendering after they are dragged to the Timeline. Several have reported that the use of the DSLR project preset results in sharper images pre and post export. I want to see if any of that can enhance your situation.
Please review and consider and then let me know if I am going in the right direction for the explanations. I will adjust
    my instructions/suggestions accordingly.
    More later.
Thanks again for the follow up.

  • Export in Query ready mode - Office 2010 not working

    Hello everyone,
I am facing the following problem with Hyperion Financial Reporting:
When I display a Financial Reporting report in Workspace and click on "Export in query ready mode", a new Excel session is launched with an empty sheet and nothing else happens. Eventually Internet explorer displays a message "The application hasn't started yet. Do you want to wait?" This cycle repeats forever unless I close the small IE window that popped up.
We are using Windows 7 and Office 2010. The Smart View version is 11.1.1.3.500 (Build 008) and Workspace is version 11.1.1.3.0.956.
Would be very grateful if anyone can help me solve this issue as this function is very useful.
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Alright,
There is some development with this problem, but unfortunately another one arose.
To solve the issue I had to disable the option "Protected mode" for the Internet Zone of Internet Explorer. Although the App server is on the local intranet, to launch Excel the web page uses the protocol oraclesv:// which appears to IE as "Internet" address.
When I disabled protected mode, some of the reports started to open normally in query ready mode. Unfortunately for some other reports Excel crashes. I.e. I open the report in workspace and click "Export in Query ready mode". I see Excel open up and the cells are filled in with members, etc. but at some point Excel just crashes and restarts. This can be destructive if I am currently working in some file.
And now the interesting part: I tried to find the reason why some of the reports are ok and some crash excel. It turned out that this depends on the amount of data in the report. For smaller reports (i.e. less than 50 rows) there is no problem, but for larger reports -> excel crashes.
I hope this explanation is helpful for someone else, as it took me quite a while to find the problem.

    Hi,
When we run the FR reports in HTML view in Workspace, there is an option at the bottom to "Export in Query Ready mode",it's not exporting the report in Smart view excel .
But some of our users are able to export the report in SV.We are using EPM 11.1.1.3. I have checked the IE 7 settings with other users and it's same.
Does anybody has any idea what could be the cause?
    Thanks in advance.

It is the behavior, Query ready mode will only pulls the members which are in Essbase (no FR calculated fields)

  • Windows support software "Ready to burn" prompt

I'm trying to download the windows support software for boot camp 4.0.1 on osx lion 10.7.2.  I selected to burn the software to a blank disc.  The software starts downloading normally, but then about 50% of the way through downloading, a prompt comes up in the Boot camp assistant window that says Ready to burn.  This prompt gives me several options, burn, cancel, and eject.  I'm not sure what to do because it is only half way through downloading.  Any advice?

    Select burn!

  • How to hide/disable option "Export In Query Ready Mode" in HTML FR reports (workspace)version 11.1.1.3

    Hi all,
is there a way to hide or disable the option "Export In Query Ready Mode" for HTML FR reports (workspace) version 11.1.1.3.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Tej.

    Hi Tej,
The feature, "to hide or disable the option "Export In Query Ready Mode"  has been introduced in Financial Reporting 11.1.2.3.
        Logon to EPM Workspace.
Open menu File > Preferences > Financial Reporting.
The new option, called "Disabled" is available for Query Ready Mode. If selected will disable Query Ready mode completely.
    Thanks,

  • How to hide/disable option "Export In Query Ready Mode" in HTML FR reports

    Hi all,
is there a way to hide or disable the option "Export In Query Ready Mode" for HTML FR reports?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    André

Yes, it is a cool feature but I didnt ask for it :-) Besides it doesnt work completely without errors/warnings:
If i click on the link and then on open (save xls works fine) an error message occurs: "Could not open 'http://<servername>/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/test.xls?gridname=grid1&iInstanceId=18885&format=excel.2002&viewAs=query&previewDone=true&promptDone=true'"
After click on OK another error message occurs:
"Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http://<servername>/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/test.xls?gridname=grid1&iInstanceId=18885&format=excel.2002&viewAs=query&previewDone=true&promptDone=true'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being used by another program.
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
After click on OK the XLS export opens correctly but the messages are annoying. Perhaps anybody can help me ;-)
    Thanks and kind regards
    Andre

Does any body have any resolution to this.
    Kindly advise.

I have created an iMovie file and have created an iDVD menu file. I am now ready to burn a DVD. But my superdirve is broken. If I put my files on a mac without iMovie or iDVD, can I still burn my DVD with Toast 11?

    no need for Toast ..
tell iDVD to create a disk-image
    transfer dmg to othe Mac
launch the Disk Utility, burn that dmg .......

Why is it taken so long and seem to stop but the activity status goes up ever so slowley???? Im using an iMac  7,1   2.4 GHz with 6GB of memory running 10.8.2 what am I doing wrong???

Rendering will take a very long time  - I once needed 6 hours for a shorter high definition movie with plenty of effects.
What theme are you using and what settings?
The "places" theme needs a good network connection.
And the finished movie will need plenty of disk space.
And the finished movie will need plenty of disk space. Have you checked the available  space on your disk?
What exactly happens when Aperture fails to render the movie? Are there any diagnostics, error messages in the console window, that relate to Aperture? Does Aperture alway stop at the same image or video clip?
if all fails, you could render your slideshow in two parts and combine the two videos on your DVD.

  • DVD about ready to burn but in simulate 'menu'...

DVD about ready to burn but in simulate 'menu', when pressed from Menu 2 and Menu 3 begins playing Track 2 instead of returning the user to the Menu 1! "Title" works as it should.
    http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/151/screenshot4ux5.jpg
    Above should be my 'connections'

The menu button on the remote will NOT move you through the different menus... it doesn't work that way at all. What happens is that it switches you from a menu to a track and back again, like a 'resume' feature. This is how the DVD Spec intended it to be, and is completely normal behaviour.
If you have not played a track and only gone to menus then there will be no resume information in place and you will probably get a 'not permitted' sign if you try to use the menu key whilst in a menu, or you will get dumped at the top level menu.
If you play a track and then go to the menu, then press menu a second time you will go back to the track at the point at which you last left - even if you have moved to a different menu in the mean time.
To move between menus the best way is to create a button for that purpose, or use the 'Return' button (but keep in mind this doesn't always work, and some remotes won't even have it on there).

  • Am I ready to burn?

Hi. I've been using iMovie now for quite awhile however am just trying out my 1st iDVD project. Its quite long.....1 hr 38 min. I've set the chapters.....clicked create iDVD project.....chosen a theme.....chosen "best quality encoder settings"....... filled in the dropzones and checked them with "motion" and "preview" however when I click on the "status" button....DVD capacity says 3.3 of 8 GB's and is not moving upwards and under "Assets" where the project is listed....the status bar is completly clear and not moving (being filled). In other words it does not say "Done" which I thought it must in order to burn.Am I ready to burn or why does the "Asset" status not say done and does not seem to be working towards being done? Thanks for any help.

I assume your telling me I'm ready to burn then and will see the "status" change as the burn process proceeds
You only see a change in that Status panel if you have selected 'Best Performance' encoding which is (fixed) constant bit rate (CBR) encoding and which CAN take place in the background as you work on the project.
Regarding "do you realize you are creating a DL disc? No, that did'nt occur to me however will that be a problem if I have a DL disc?
DL discs are much more expensive than single layer discs, and since you can get close to 2 hours of content on a single layer disc using 'Best Quality' save the expense of a double layer disc.
I STRONGLY suggest you complete the iDVD Tutorial (Chapter Three in iDVD Getting Started PDF) before starting your own project. We all learn better by 'doing' rather than just reading and the Tutorial will take you through the entire creation process. The time you spend on the Tutorial will save you a lot more time when you start doing your own projects.
