Export to Web - template question

I routinely export from iPhoto to web pages to make them public on my family web site (which I manage). All is well there.
The thumbnail based pages that are the default output from this process are really pretty good, especially considering that i'm all about the 80/20 rule. They are not perfect, but for a busy life, they suit the bill quite nicely.
However, if I could only just make a few tweaks to the template the Export facility uses to build the output, it'd be great. Are they straight HTML? Are they located somewhere easy to find? Can I actually edit them a bit (considering that I'm OK with basic HTML)? Should I even think about this at all, or is it crazy to do so?
Please advise...
Thanks!!

dcrisafi:
No, they are not straight HTML. Mostly java based. You can create your own theme and install it but it is a bit of a task. Check out this site for directions: http://karreth.com/iweb/Home.html. It has a lot of how too tutorials. There are also some free themes available. You can get them here:
11Mystics
some templates
The second site has some nice clean templates. I don't use the iWeb button in iPhoto to start a new site. Instead I put my photos in an album and launch iWeb separately. Then I can select the theme before getting the photos thru the Media button/pane.
If you find having multiple sites in one file cumbersome give iWebSites a look. I have a different file for each site I manage. Makes it much easier to manage IMO.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • RSRT export to Web Template

    Hi everybody!
    I'm using Netweaver 7.0 and WAD 7.0
    In RSRT1 i can launch a query and choose to display it as HTML, and then when the query is diplayed i hit F8 (Browser) so it showed to me as a web page.
    So, the question is, if it is possible to save this presentation of a query as a Web template. The point is, it's displayed so well, with charts and other useful stuff, so i'd like to use it as a Web template. There is a possibility to export it to Excel ot to CSV, so i thought there may be a possibility to export to WEB.
    Any ideas??

    Kuatroka,
    I think the default template used is the version 3.5 0ADHOC, you can load the default template in old WAD and change the DP to any query you want and save the template. Then you can use that template.

  • XML Import/Export of Web Template

    Hi, I'm looking to move a Web Template from Production to Development and I'm thinking of using the MetaData Repository XML Export/Import Functionalty.  My only concern is that is might not pick up the Binary Objects Generated by the template to store Chart Settings.
    Does anyone have any experience with this so?  Again my concern is the Binary objects.
    Thanks, Ken Murray

    You cannot export Web Templates using XML.  Only Objects for which there are Supporting BAPI's..

  • CSS HTML5 DWCS6 web template question

    I have a Responsive website template I am editing. There is only one issue I am having with the template. When I remove the background image because I don't need the quotes and view the site in mobile view in ADOBE DREAMWEAVER CS6, the text is thrown off and is squeezed towards the right of the screen in a very narrow and unreadable column instead of flowing to the left in a nice readable column.
    Original css with quotes:
    .block-left-2 {
    overflow:hidden;
    margin-left:250px;
    font-style:italic;
    padding-left:50px;
    background: url('../images/p-bg.png') no-repeat 0 2px;
    margin-top:-5px;
    My changed css without quotes:
    .block-left-2 {
    overflow:hidden;
    margin-left:250px;
    font-style:italic;
    padding-left:50px;
    background: none;
    margin-top:-5px;
    Can anyone tell me what do I need to change in the above css to make the text area that had the quotes (background :url image) removed flow normally when viewed through a mobile device just as it flows normally with the quotes (background url image)?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated. I love your templates, but if I cannot get any help for just this one thing, I will not be purchasing any more of these from your website.

    I'm not sure why changing a background attribute would do anything to the flow of text on your page, but...
    background:none;
    ...should be taken out completely. I don't think that's technically a usable attribute for the background shorthand property and may be why it's throwing off your text.
    If removing it completely doesn't fix the issue, something else has been changed in your css or html that is causing the problem.
    EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it is technically valid css, but still, it shouldn't have anything to do with your text and can be removed, since you want "no background" you can just leave it out all-together. There must be something else changed in your css or html causing your text to go squirrely.
    Any chance you could post a link?
    EDIT 2: Also keep in mind, this is a user to user forum for Adobe products and actual Adobe employees don't drop by very often. For the most part, it's just software users like yourself that are offering up the answers here.

  • Web Template - Freeze Columns &  Export to Excel

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a couple of questions .
    Issue:11.I have a input query assigned it to a web template.The query displays the KF's by fiscalperiod/fiscalyear. There are around 10 characteristics and additional KF's by fiscal period.Is it possible to freeze the characteristics like in Bex analyzer or Excel spreadsheet. Is it possible to do it at the template level.
    Issue:2:
    To do the export to excel, do I have to attach a planning function for export to excel button. I know there is a function to export to PDF file. I don't see a export to excel function.Please advise.
    Thanks for your help in solving the above issues.
    Senthil

    Hi,
    issue 2
    it is quite easy in WAD 7.0; all you have to do is to use command wizard - > export -> excel...
    After that you have to choose web items which should be exported. If you don't choose anythink, every web item will be exported.

  • Problem exporting to excel when using embedded web templates through WAD

    Using web templates designed with WAD, we are experiencing an issue when trying to export excel when using embedded web templates.
    We have set up tabstrips within our templates that load other templates (embedded into the global template).
    Upon right clicking on any query and choosing "Export to Excel", any query that is in one of the tabs using the embedded web template item does not show up.  Any queries in natively in the global web template will export and show up fine.
    Any thoughts on how to enable something like this, or workarounds to make this work?  We decided to split up these templates for performance reasons and can't go back from that decision.  Also let me know if you need a better explanation of what we're trying to do.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jonathan

    Hi SDBI,
    Is this in place of loading a new template per tab?  We are using container layouts in all of our templates so we can link things into tabstrips as well, we have just split up some templates to be embedded into tabs for performance reasons and data locking.
    Also when exporting, we are looking for all of the items displayed at that time to be exported, however only the items from the global template show up, not all of the displayed queries.  For example, anything outside of the tabstrip will export perfectly, but since the query embedded into the template the tabstrip is loading is not part of the native web template, it does not show up.
    Seems like a tool limitation to me when embedding templates?
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • Question regarding the default web template for queries

    Hello,
    I am trying to learn the default web template that is using for queries:
    0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70
    I see that it's <bi:QUERY value="" /> is empty which is logic since the query will be inserted on runtime. My question is, where in the web template does it say that? I can't see any parameter it expects to get with the query's technical name not at the webtemplate code nor at the URL...
    Roy

    Roy,
    I think you are mixing things. The template you are mentioning is used for queries that are executed from the query designer. It's not a web template as any other one you create for your users. So, this web template has some parts in it's code that works with the query execution. When you run a query, the system takes the query definition (made in QD) and executes it with the web template indicated for the query. This determination is made by the program that is used to run queries. You can try using RSRT transaction to debug and check how this it's done. If you want to change the default web template used by query designer to run the queries, you should do it copying any standard template, like the one you mentioned. If you don't do it, you won't get the information correct.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Diego

  • Web Template 3.x - Excel Export

    Hello experts,
    how can I add some kind of "Excel-Export-Button" in a Web Template 3.x ?
    In WAD 7.0 there is this function, but what about WAD 3.x?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Create a new web template with reference of 0ANALYZER or 0WEBANALYZER. In this you will find the option for export to excel.
    Else you can copy the HTML code from the template for Export excel option.
    Hope this helps...

  • Question about file size when using "Export for Web"

    Hi!
    I created a .mov file and worked to get a great balance between file size and quality so that I could deliver it via the web and make it easier for end users to see the video on a slower connection.
    My question: When I use "Export for Web," my .mov file is converted into a very large .m4v file--more than double the size of the original file. I know that this export option is to optimize the file for a wide variety of users/internet speeds. Am I correct in guessing that the end size is not an issue? I would post the .mov file instead, but I really like the option of embedding into a html page along with the "click to play" option.
    Bottom line--is it better to post the smaller .mov file that i originally started with or to go ahead and link to the bigger .m4v file that was created with the "Export for Web" option?

    "Export for Web" is a feature of QuickTime Pro and it makes 4 files and the html page code for easy copy/paste Web page editing.
    The very first file is called a "reference movie" and it links to the other 3 files (56kbps, 900kbps and 1.5Mbps). It, and the page code, "read" the connection speed of the viewing hardware and "serve up" the correct file based on that connection speed.
    In nearly all cases the "Desktop" version would still be smaller in file size than the original source. The times the file would "increase" in file size would be when an already compressed was used as the source file. You can find out more about your source file by opening it in QuickTime Player and viewing the Movie Inspector window information.
    There are dozens of other html "tricks" that could be used if your source file is already compressed but you want a different display size:
    Page code to show "aspect" or scale="tofit". This code allows values "outside" of those found in the actual QuickTime file be used for the Web page display. A 320X240 QuickTime .mov file looks pretty good at double size (640X480) but the file size would still be that of the source file.
    "Poster Movie" is another html trick that loads the Web based file directly in the QuickTime Player application (bypassing Web page layout restrictions). These files are also known as "Presentation Movies".
    Another method is the QuickTime Media Link file (.qtl). These are simple text based files that are used as a "direct link". These use simple XML (Extensible Markup Language) and are easily created in any text editing application. The simple syntax has amazing control over a simple QuickTime .mov file. You can launch (and quit) the QuickTime Player, display at other dimensions and even embed "links" inside the display.
    Some of my files as examples:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/Lemon_Trees/ a "Poster Movie" style.
    http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/.Public/RedneckTexasChristmas.qtl
    A QuickTime Media Link file. A tiny file should download to the viewing machine, launch QuickTime Player, present the movie and it even includes a "link" to my Web page.
    Edit: It appears you must now double click the .qtl download to launch QuickTime.

  • Web Template format won't export properly

    We have built several web templates as dashboards for our users.   Typically the templates have a chart at the top, with two data tables next to each other on the page.
    When we export to PDF or Excel.  All the objects appear vertical, one after the other down the page so that the two tables are no longer next to each other horizontally.
    I have tried to search the forum and the SAP help for a solution but so far nothing makes sense.
    If anyone has any tips or steps they could share that would be great.
    Thanks

  • Export WEB  Template in Excel in WEB Interface Builder

    Hi Experts,
    is it possible to add a web template with the pushbutton "Export in Excel" in a web planning layout?
    So i have to do a web interface with a planning layout under which i have to insert a web template and a pushbutton with "Export in Excel" functionality.
    Many thanks,
    Fabio.

    Hi Fabio
    This is possible in Web Application Designer. In the WAD you have an option of selecting the "Export" command that allows you to select the file format you'd like to export to: Excel, csv, txt or PDF.
    So you could consider pulling your layouts/queries into WAD and use this option.

  • Web Template - Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working

    Hi Experts,
    In a Web Report & Web Template Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working ; Any body have any idead ?
    Do i need to write any HTML code to funtion those web items.
    Thanks
    KAruna

    Dear Karuna,
    Review your default template. Probably is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
    Reactive the version D and check again.
    Also, you are able to modify the webitems on Export to Excel on 'BUTTON_TOOLBAR_2' -> Button list number  4.
    And, you are able to check the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT, in case of configuration.
    If you want to remove/add new items, I suggest you to save as another name. SAP does not allow to modify delivered objects
    ex:. 0Objects.

    Hello A K,
    Thanks for ur time and response but the option u mentioned did not serve my purpose.
    The problem seems to be only with pirticular cells.As mentioned earlier the layout appears properly..all the values are seen..but the end result..totals are disturbed.
    eg: If the report shows in template the total value :20,668,554...when exported the values is shown as **668553.88000000600000.
    So what could be the problem ? any template setting ? global setting to look at ?
