Export tops off at 720x540?

I just completed my first iMovie 08 project and wanted to export to iDVD, but when I go under the Export options, the best quality is "large" at a resolution of 720x540. I burned this to a DVD and it looks very grainy. How do I export at a higher resolution? My export seems to be capped off at "large" 720x540.

The problem isn't really with the resolution, but that you go through re-rendering steps in the process. Each step slightly blurs your movie, like making a copy of a document with a copy machine. Do it once, and you hardly notice, but once you make a copy of the copy you start noticing. These steps are unfortunately unavoidable with iMovie '08:
Camcorder records at 720x480 with rectangular pixels with either DV or MPEG-2 compression -> iMovie re-renders and recompresses all frames to 720x540 with square pixels and MPEG-4 -> iDVD re-renders and recompresses all frames do 720x480 with rectangular pixels and MPEG-2.
If you use a DV camcorder, and your primary target are video DVDs, you might consider using iMovie '06 instead. It eliminates all re-rendering steps, and all but the final MPEG-2 re-compression step in the above process, and yields much better quality.
If you want to stick with iMovie '08, try exporting as a Quicktime movie using the Apple Intermediate Codec from iMovie '08. Some users on this forum have reported better results with that format.

Export Cuts Off (Incomplete)

I have some .caf files and I'm trying to convert to MP3. I did some search to self-educate, and I know .caf is same as aiff (just different extension). With that said, QuickTime can export both files and convert them to wave, au, or aiff. The problem is, no matter what format I use, the end-product comes out shorter. It's a person reading a sentence (only 2-3 seconds or so), but it gets cut off before the sentence can finish.
Does anyone know any solutions to this? Or, other more reliable way to convert them? Currently, I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Thank you.

So you purchased it, we get that. But that doesn't mean you entered the serial number data correctly or didn't throw away your registration file by some silly mistake.
30 seconds is the limit on the demo version.
You obviously have the demo version enabled. Reinitialize the purchase registration. Hope you didn't throw away your receipt.

Exporting Top Side Entries

We have a current business need to export our top side entries and load them to Essbase. (I understand it is not best practice, but this is a step for our future state of best practices.) Does anyone know how to do this? We are on 9.3.3 and will be upgrading to Fusion in the near future.

I'm not sure what best practice would be, but considering it's not even possible to extract all JV line item detail to Excel in 9.3.3 from the front end, there probably/unfortunately isn't one. We query the production tables directly via an ODBC connection and have a script to run it twice/day during close. The query outputs the detail to Excel file(s) on our SharePoint site. I'm sure you could set it up to create a text file instead to feed Essbase (or maybe even load Essbase directly).

File export turns off canvas overlay

I have just completed exporting some stills from a sequence. Each time I exported a file using Quicktime Conversion the canvas overlay turned off. Since I was exporting frames based on timecode this was a bit of a pain.
Does anybody know if this is a feature or a bug. I expect that it is a bug, but I have been wrong in the past!

For me it only disappears when clicking on the "Options" button. You shouldn't need to do this once you've set in in a session...

Exporting cuts off last two frames of project

For the last while now, Premiere CS6 and Media Encoder continue to cut off the last two frames of any project I export. It doesn't matter what export formats I choose, it always happens. My short term solution has been to extend the project by two frames but sometimes that doesn't even work. Anyone else have this issue? It's really becoming a bother. And yes, I've checked to make sure the entire project is selected in the export and media encoder windows.

Before we advance on the cropping details and considerations, let us rule in or out the set up of the project as well as the export choices and settings as causes of the problems.
If you have video 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9, then the project preset should be (assuming NTSC setup)
NTSC
AVCHD
HD1080i30
Now, when you go to export your edited Timeline content, if we go for a H.264.mov export
Share/Computer/QuickTime with Presets = NTSC DV 16:9
Click on the Advanced Button there.
Under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, set according to the screenshot for Video Tab....
Some of the export settings in the screenshot got cut off in the screen capture. The essential ones are the ones you see (for now).
The BItrate which is further down (not seen here) is left with no check mark before "Limit Data Rate To...". We will work on that later if file size becoms an issue. The main purpose of the above is to see if we can get a good video just with attention to project setup and export settings.

Premiere elements 9 exporting cuts off certain scenes

Whenever I export a video from premeiere elements 9, any scene in which I used a green screen key gets messed up and cut of at the bottom. I have a project due in a day. How can I fix this?

ReportDocument Export always exports top level of report!

Exporting library off hard drive?

This is my first post here, so please pardon me if this is the wrong place to post this, or the question has already been answered.
My computer is old and can't handle ITunes, so I'm using my mum's computer. However, I don't want to use up her hard drive by keeping my library of music on it. Is there some way I can either delete music, or export it somewhere else so that her hard drive isn't taken up by it? I tried going to file, library, then export library and putting it onto a cd-rw, but it didn't do anything. Any advice?

From what I understand in those directions though, that's only to move your music from one location to another that's still on the same hard drive.

Exporting cut off?!!

When i export footage to .wmv and go back and watch it, it gets cut at the 23 second mark every time, this is extremley frutrating. i also would like to know how to set your timeline for 24fps, as well as export in 24fps. thanks guys

are you using a demo from flip for mac.demo version has 30 sec limit.
for 24 frame set up your sequence that way. look in easy setups to see if there is one already made or get close to what you want capture etc highlight the sequence and adjust the settings accordingly. make sure the same frame rate is in capture as well as sequence. when you shoot if your in dv you'll have to do 24PA to be able to remove pulldown the edit. lots of posts on how to 24PA

After Battery Update, Battery Tops Off At 96%

Hi. Have a MacBook and I did the battery update recommendation and now the battery never reaches 100% charge, it always goes to 96% and it runs down much faster. Has anyone else noticed any differences in the MacBook batteries after the update 1.2?

hey, i'm having this same problem but i've been noticing that it's because temperatures are spiking up to 130 C when i run Rember for only 30 seconds. This has only been happening after the battery update, before i was only getting maxed out temps of 75C

3GS Battery tops off?

Hi everyone. I have an iPhone 3GS and I noticed something yesterday. When I wake up, my iPhone battery is at 100% with the plug logo, meaning it's fully charged. If I begin to play with it for 2 minutes while still on the charger, the percentage drops to 98/99% and begins to charge again until it becomes full.
Once it becomes full again and I use it for another minute or two, the percentage stays at 100% but the icon now changes to the 'lighting bolt' to indicate it's charging again. It's a 3-day old phone and so far it's gone through 2 full charge cycles (100%->0%->100%).
Is anyone else witnessing this? Thanks!
