Export u3d or Object for DAZ use? Bridge?

Hello, I opened a shirt in daz and exported as .u3d then opened it in photoshop cs5. I then painted on it, etc and got it the way I wanted it. My problem is I can’t get the .u3d object back in daz or saved as an obj or any 3d format so I can get it back in daz.  When I use the daz bridge export as u3d it opens a accept window in daz but nothing loads.
What am I doing wrong? I know the shirt is not going to be the same as when I exported it but I would still like to get it back in daz. The shirt was just want I picked to try and learn how to get models back and forth between the two programs.
Do I need to use the adobe bridge? And if so how?  I tried to research exchange file but has no luck.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Kimberly

There are two ways in CS6 to open a texture into a document window from where you can save it to a PSD, PNG, JPEG, etc, then just close the document.
There should be equivalents in CS5.

  • Exporting Video B-Roll for Broadcast Use

    Hello:
    What format should I export my b-roll video in from an event? We're distributing it online via a download link but I want this file to be as easy for reporters to use as possible.
    Can someone explain the best process/format to export this in?
    Will Quicktime be best? If so what options do I need to select to keep the file large enough for broadcast use yet compressed enough to send via YouSendIt?

    Thanks. This might be a stupid question but how can I convert the output Quicktime from FCE to a MPG2? Are there any settings I need to check off?

  • Exporting a masked object for the web

    Hi everyone,
    I've created a pattern tile in Illustrator and need to export it for the web. The problem is that when I do this, the area that is masked out is showing up in the the save for web dialogue box as a blank transparent area.
    Anyone know how to avoid this so that only the pattern tile itself is saved for web?
    Appreciate any help.

    Hi,
    I tried filling a square with a pattern fill then expanding it but this doesn't work because the pattern definition is no longer accurate, ie. I need to use the original pattern object in order for it to tile correctly.
    I also tried the two previous suggestions, ie. defining an artboard the size of the pattern and then exporting and also tried defining a slice. Both of these methods failed because it seems illustrator is adding an extra 2 pixels to the overall pattern which destroys the tiling effect.
    The only way I could get it to work was to copy the pattern tile, paste it into Photoshop and then trim off 2 pixels from all four sides. This seems like an awful lot of work though. I wish there was an easier way.
    By the way I'm using CS4.

  • Exporting text from InDesign for web use

    I am creating graphics in InDesign CS3 on a Mac running OSX. The graphics consist of a box containing explanatory. I do not have the option of doing the text part in another program - the "boss" wants the layout done in InDesign so I would have to do this twice if I use Illustrator or Photoshop (and I'm not sure how to put a lot of text in a box into Photoshop).
    When I exported as a jpg using different resolution settings, put the graphic into Dreamweaver, and then put it onto the web, the text was fuzzy. I can't use the Cross Media Export because this needs to go onto the web as a graphic rather than as text. I can't export to a pdf because the person designing the website is insistent that this be a picture.
    I'm not sure all the information needed to answer this is included - please let me know if more information is needed. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Jeffrey,
    Thank you for your answer. I'm not quite sure what you mean by rasterize in Photoshop. I tried what I thought you meant and the screen and print quality both were worse than simply exporting the InDesign document as a jpg (and that quality is not good enough).
    Here is what I did:
    I exported the InDesign document as a pdf using  Press Quality Print and all of the other settings as defaults. When I opened the pdf in Photoshop, anti-aliasing was checked. I used 300 dpi, RGB, and 8 bit - the defaults. I went into Save as for Web, jpg, and used all of the default settings except that I made the document smaller as it was way too large for the web. I did the same thing for gif - opened the pdf in Photoshop, anti-aliased was checked by default, went into Save as for Web, and kept all of the same settings except to decrease the size of the image.
    I'm sure there is something I'm just not understanding, and I hope with this explanation you will be able to have an "ah-ha" moment and point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,
    Marcy

  • Packaging Business Domain Objects for Shared Use?

    Hi:
    I am trying to figure out how best to package a number of ADF Entity Objects so that they are shared by multiple developers and applications. Reading the JDev documentation it looks like the appropriate method is to create a System Library and place these objects into JAR files in the library. Is this the right approach?
    If so, other questions follow. It looks like 10.1.3 has replaced "system libraries" with "extension libraries". True? Regardless, when I go into Tool -> Manage Libraries and choose <New>, the only type of library that is available to create is a "User" one.
    Any guidance appreciated.
    Johnny Lee

    Thanks, Shay. That was the perfect answer to the second part of my question. Michael's post really is awesome. One of the things we are most looking forward to with the production 10.1.3 release is the completion of the documentation. For future reference, I think it would be useful to separate the release schedule of the help text from the application. The value of clear information is much greater than minor bug fixes or feature enhancements, IMHO.
    But to the first question, it would still be helpful to hear from folks how they are organizing their ADF components. The small version of this question is whether or not packaging entity objects into jar files in external libraries makes sense. Yes/no?
    The larger question (and I admit to showing my inexperience here) has to do with organizing the hierarchical structure of a moderate sized ADF application (Faces & Business Components). We are using CVS as our repository and so far the two developers have been working on separate parts of the application, creating their pieces within JDev and then uploading them into CVS. So CVS has all of these modules that reflect individual JDev projects, but no overall structure of how the different pieces relate to one another. Now we're starting to look at sharing components and it's becoming clear that we need to get a little more organized.
    So, some specific questions (for anyone who would like to respond):
    1) How do you lay out your ADF application source hierarchies?
    2) Do you reflect your package structure within your directory structure?
    3) Where do you maintain your hierarchy? If you use version control, are your repository and working copies the only places you keep your source, or do you maintain an external central directory structure?
    4) Are there things about structuring an ADF Faces/BC application that are different from standard J2EE applications?
    5) Have you found particular posts, articles or examples helpful?
    Thanks.

  • Retaining resulset object for later use

    i have 2 jsp pages.. testpaper.jsp and solutions.jsp.
    In testpaper.jsp, i fetch random rows of a table and build a form dynamically and
    display it(it contains questions ,4 options and correct answer made hidden.)
    when user submits this form, it is forwarded to solutions.jsp, here i want to display
    solutions to questions he attempted, so i want to retain my resultset object,
    How to do this...??

    Map it to a collection and store it in session.
    I hope that you realize that you should always, always, close the connection, statement and resultset immediately after processing them? You should also know that it is an utter bad practice to have JDBC logic in JSP files, let alone raw Java code. It belongs in Java classes. Look up the DAO pattern and apply it.

  • Unable to create Entity objects for tables in TimesTen database using ADF

    Hi,
    I am not able to create Entity and View objects for tables in TimesTen database using ADF. I have installed TimesTen client on my machine.
    I have created a database connection by using connection type as "Generic JDBC" and giving driver class and JDBC URL. I am attaching screen shot of the same.
    I am right clicking on Model project and selecting New option after that I am selecting ADF Business components and in it I am selecting Business components from tables and there I am querying for tables.I am getting list of tables and when I am trying to create a Entity object from the table after clicking finish Jdev is closing by itself giving an error.
    Can anyone please help me how to create Entity objects for tables using TimesTen as database.I might be missing some jars or the way I am creating connection might be wrong or any plugins required to connect to TimesTen.

    What is the actual error being given by Jdev? Are you sure that the JDBC connection is using the TimesTen JDBC driver JAR and not some other JDBC driver or the Generic JDBC/ODBC bridge?
    Is ADF even supported with TimesTen?

  • Exporting 3D Objects for use in Photoshop

    As Photoshop CS3 has the ability to handle 3D layers and Illustrator CS3 has the ability the create 3D objects i do not see any reason why there is no possibility in Illustrator to Export the 3D objects that then can be used in Photoshop. It would be a very appreciated feature.
    Andreas

    > I happen to know for sure that the plug-in does create a 3D model...
    How do you know this? While I Don't know for sure that it doesn't I strongly doubt that it would. The object created using the effect is merely a 2D object extruded to add the illusion of depth. A true 3D model contains far more information, such as features on all sides. Since Illustrator is only a 2D drawing program, there's no need for it to support 3D modeling, so no need for the programmers to spend time storing 3D data in the database of object data.
    So, if you "know for sure" that the plug-in created a 3D model, how do you know this? Can you link to some proof?

  • Exporting and Importing Statistics for Schema objects.

    Hello All,
    I am trying to gather stats for optimization using, gather_schema_stats for all objects under schema. The manual what i am reading says it covers both Tables and Indexes and we can also include the all partions too. For the safety reasons i was informed by a friend that we should take a back up of old stats into a table (user defined), so as in case of messing up with new stats for performance issue we can use it as an backup copy. So, i have created a user table and exported the stats from existing schema. My Question is, do i have to create one for the indexes too. Or its all in one table. I hope my question is clear.
    Generally manuals don't teach all this kind of stuff until unless we learn it by ourselves by trial and error Or getting solutions from great resolvers like you people.
    Hope to hear soon.

  • Can I use Bridge to export image data into a .txt file?

    I have a folder of images and I would like to export the File Name, Resolution, Dimensions and Color Mode for each file into one text file. Can I use Bridge to export image data into a .txt file?

    Hello
    You may try the following AppleScript script. It will ask you to choose a root folder where to start searching for *.map files and then create a CSV file named "out.csv" on desktop which you may import to Excel.
    set f to (choose folder with prompt "Choose the root folder to start searching")'s POSIX path
    if f ends with "/" then set f to f's text 1 thru -2
    do shell script "/usr/bin/perl -CSDA -w <<'EOF' - " & f's quoted form & " > ~/Desktop/out.csv
    use strict;
    use open IN => ':crlf';
    chdir $ARGV[0] or die qq($!);
    local $/ = qq(\\0);
    my @ff = map {chomp; $_} qx(find . -type f -iname '*.map' -print0);
    local $/ = qq(\\n);
    #     CSV spec
    #     - record separator is CRLF
    #     - field separator is comma
    #     - every field is quoted
    #     - text encoding is UTF-8
    local $\\ = qq(\\015\\012);    # CRLF
    local $, = qq(,);            # COMMA
    # print column header row
    my @dd = ('column 1', 'column 2', 'column 3', 'column 4', 'column 5', 'column 6');
    print map { s/\"/\"\"/og; qq(\").$_.qq(\"); } @dd;
    # print data row per each file
    while (@ff) {
        my $f = shift @ff;    # file path
        if ( ! open(IN, '<', $f) ) {
            warn qq(Failed to open $f: $!);
            next;
        $f =~ s%^.*/%%og;    # file name
        @dd = ('', $f, '', '', '', '');
        while (<IN>) {
            chomp;
            $dd[0] = \"$2/$1/$3\" if m%Link Time\\s+=\\s+([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{4})%o;
            ($dd[2] = $1) =~ s/ //g if m/([0-9 ]+)\\s+bytes of CODE\\s/o;

    Hope this may help,

    AirPort Utility is the application that must be used to setup and make any configuration changes to the AirPort Express. I'm not aware of an "App" for this.
    If you could borrow a computer from someone there for 30 minutes or maybe use the computer in the lobby, you could download AirPort Utility and reconfigure your Express. To help with setup, use an ethernet cable from the computer to the Express to help AirPort Utility "see" the Express.

  • Recent loss of embedded QT movies on many page for IE7 using ActiveX object

    I have many pages that allow you to select from 4 video formats including QT .mov. An example is at http://www.cwdjr.net/video4/cancanL.php . The QT object uses ActiveX when on IE only(I use Windows conditional comments) and an ordinary object for most other browsers. Until sometime very recently all of these pages worked when you select the QT file. Now QT works on none of them. I suspected the problem might be due to a very recent Windows XP update which is a large one including .NET updates and other things(K8951847) X 86. I was able to restore to a day before this update, but this did not solve the problem. Of course some portions of some updates can not be removed be restoring to an earlier time, so the result does not prove the update was not at fault.
    The involved pages are mostly written in php on the server, so you will not be able to see very much by viewing the source code. To make the problem more simple to view, I made a test page for QT only and with the ActiveX object only. Thus this test page can not be viewed on most browsers that do not support ActiveX. The test page is at http://www.cwdjr.info/broadbandMedia/formatsAX/qtmovtest2.php . Since I serve pages as valid xhtml 1.1 using the correct mime type application xhtml+xml, no IE browser can view the page, since no IE browser can support xhtml served properly. Thus I have a php include at the very top for header exchange between the browser and server. If this says the page does not support the mime type for xhtml, then php using regular expressions, etc is used to rewrite the page as html 4.01 strict for the outmoded browser. Thus don't be surprised if you find some pages in xhtml and others in html when you check properties.
    The ActiveX object used for QT on the test page is below:
    QT MOV
    (CLICK ABOVE LINK IF NO PLAYER)
    <object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" width="400" height="295" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab">
    <param name="autoplay" value="true" />
    <param name="controller" value="true" />
    <param name="kioskmode" value="true" />
    <param name="src" value="http://www.cwdjr.info/movie/cancan.mov" />
    </object>
    Once the page comes up on IE7, it is rather slow to respond. Then it gives:
    "Web site wants to install the following ActiveX control: 'Quick Time' from 'Apple Inc'".
    If you do try to install, nothing happens. In contrast to my regular pages, I added the code show above just before the start of the object. Clicking this on will bring up the QT video, but of course it is not embedded on the desired page. This may work as a temporary fix for IE. I likely can hide it from other browsers by enclosing it in Microsoft conditional comments.
    I would be interested if anyone else has had such a problem recently or any ideas concerning this strange response on IE7. I am talking about viewing the page on the server. Since this is a php page it can be viewed locally only if you have a server installed on your computer and I do not. The pages with the first url example given above have operated well on IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari for Windows, Flock, K-Meleon, Google Chrome and SeaMonkey. There are a few players that have some issues with some of the formats, but this and the fact that some players may not be installed is the reason for offering the video in 4 formats. I sometimes offer high broadband versions as well as low broadband versions.
    It seems I spend more time correcting IE issues than for all of the other mentioned browsers combined.

    Thanks for the reference. I use nearly no JS anymore, since it often causes problems with true xhtml served properly even when you use external script files. Often one can use php script on the server and avoid these problems. When one serves as true xhtml using the correct mime type of application/xhtml+xml, the page is parsed with a very strict xml parser rather than a loose-as-a-goose html parser. (If one serves a page written in xhtml code as mime text/html, as is incorrectly done perhaps 99% of the time, you are using only html, not xhtml, and are fooling only yourself. The page is parsed as html instead of xhtml.) The xml parser has to be very strict to account for any possible xml content. Even a single, or even several, errors often will not prevent a html page from showing, but even a single error on an xhtml page served properly will often get an error report from the xml parser rather than a view of the page. One of the most laughable examples of misunderstanding of this issue is the home page of Microsoft. It claims to be xhtml. However it is served as text/html and thus would be better written in html 4.01 in the first place. Moreover, if you validate the page as xhtml at w3c, you find hundreds of xhtml errors. If Microsoft served their home page properly as application/xhtml+xml it of course would not work on any IE browser, at least through IE7, since none of these IE browsers can handle true xhtml. In addition the page likely would not show up on any browser if served as true xhtml until all of the hundreds of xml and other errors on the page were corrected. Instead, one likely would get a very long error report rather than a view of the page.
    Back to JS, document.write will not work in properly served xhtml, because it easily could produce code with XML errors. For instance it might produce code that contains an unclosed tag, which is a major xml error that can cause an xml device to malfunction. The xml parser thus rightly finds document.write as an error and prevents viewing of the page. However one often can generate the same code as document.write would produce on a browser with php on the server. The finished code is what gets downloaded to the browser, so the xml parser can check everything in the finished code rather than quess what a JS document.write might produce. And don't think you can sweep document.write under the rug by using an external JS file. The very strict xml parser finds it.
    Of course embed has never been a w3c tag, but rather is a bad hangover from the browser war era, a gift of Netscape. No page that includes embed can validate as w3c xhtml or xml of any flavor, at least through xhtml 1.1. However the page may work, despite the error, if server as text/html.
    All I know is that something has happened recently that has caused my problem to surface. It likely has to do with some change in the XP OS or IE browser. I have tried viewing several pages written by others that use many types of code for .mov, and all of them I have viewed that use an ActiveX embed for the benefit of IE now have the problem I mentioned. If anyone else with XP and nearly all updates, including the very recent one I mentioned, and the most recent version of QT has had this problem, I could be more confident that the problem comes from an external source. If not, it is still possible the sudden change could be something concerning a specific issue that has developed in my computer.
    Again, thanks for the JS reference. Some of this likely can translate into php so I can compare how the JS and php server script I am using relate.
