Export very low bitrate for white video

hi,
I have a 5-minute video of mostly white background with only three lines of blue text in the begining. I've exported from Premiere using Vimeo's HD preset. The file has a datarate of 65kbps, which is too low for Vimeo to flag it as HD. So my video looks like crap on vimeo. I've tried customizing it using both VBR 2-pass, VBR 1-pass, and CBR but the same low datarate is the result.
link to vimeo video: https://vimeo.com/85604773
I understand that since the video is mostly white background therefore there isn't alot of image information to get a higher datarate but I really need the white background.
Is there a way to force premiere to give the video a higher datarate, like 8000kbps?
The export setting is
Vimeo HD preset
thanks in advance,

Text were prepared using photoshop and then layer imported into premiere for overlaying.
Yep, I re-uploaded the same 65kbps video and somehow vimeo accepted it as HD. The text is better than before. I can work with this.
Another nuissance is the white in the vimeo video is 255 254 255.
In Premiere, the white background is 255 255 255.  Anywway to keep it 100% white on vimeo? you know? maybe it's vimeo's re-processing.
peace, thanks

  • What prores bitrate for DV video conversion?

    Hi,
I'm looking to make a DV video library more accesible and/or smaller in filesize.
Which prores bitrate should I use. Right now everything is in SD DV-PAL at 30 Mbps. Normal prores is about 40 Mbps so it will become bigger actually.
Is there any loss at doing it at Proxy? Is the Prores codec better at lower bitrates then DV-PAL at a lager bitrate since it is a more modern compression?
    THX for any advice!
    K.

I think that DV is DV and that you can't muck with the bitrate.  Not sure how about this, but might be worth a test.
Just tried to change the quality slider in the video settings in the encoder panel in compressor for a duplicate DV preset and it wouldn't let me.
DV is heavily compressed but designed to maintain as much quality as possible.  Don't think you'll do better.
If you're willing to deal with jumping thru some hoops, recompressing as h264 will reduce file size and you can adjust the quality slider to whatever you want.  You will not be able to edit with this files directly in fcp, but you will be able to fcpX and Premiere.

  • I recent bought a classic 5th 30gb. Trying charge its battery over 12hrs and still 'very low battery' with white screen randomly showing this webpage.

I recently bought a classic 5th 30gb with 'very low battery'. After 12hrs charging its still same and randomly shows a white screen with this website. Does the battery need replaced or something else is wrong?

What do you see on the iPod screen, when you plug in to the PC?
    My suggestions,
Charge only using High Power USB2.0 port at the back of your PC and not the low power USB 1.1 port at the front of the PC.
Change the USB cable, (maybe it is broken)
    Try a wall charger.

  • ADC with very low DNL for pulse height histogram MCA ?

I'm looking for an 100 kHz or faster analog to digital converter with
very low DNL ( much lower than 0.1 lsb or 10%) to be used for pulse
height MCA analysis by creating a histogram of digitized count
values. Standard PCI interface cards have DNL of 0.2 lsb which
produces noisy histograms when repeatedly digitizing a triangle wave
spanning the entire adc input range. PCI card would be best, but
external device or just the adc chip itself would be useable.
Wilkinson style is one known for such low DNL.

Application is time correlated single photon counting to measure
nanosecond fluorescent lifetimes. A laser pulse generates a start
pulse. The first photon emitted from the sample generates a stop
pulse. The time difference is converted to a voltage pulse (0 to
+10V), 2 usec duration (I could extend that with an external
sample/hold) by a time-to-amplitude converter. The overall lifetime
of the sample is constructed by repeating this at least tens of
thousands of times. For each laser shot, the voltage pulse is
digitized and its binary code summed into a histogram bin. A plot is
made of number of occurances vs adc binary code value. At least 12
bits of resolution is desired. The pulses to be digitized occur
randomly in time at least 10 usec apart (maybe 100 usec).
For accurate data, the width of each histogram bin should be equal. I
test this by making a histogram from a triangle wave. The number of
occurances vs raw adc counts should be flat. Instead, it exhibits
variations of 20% (equivalent to 0.2 lsb of dnl).
So what I'd like is an adc with bin widths equal to say 1% that can
digitize a voltage within 10 usec. Its type should not really matter
as long as it can accomplish this.
A 20% deviation in adc bin width seems like a high value for something
electronic in nature ike this. What is it that makes this not
typically so, since most adc's has 0.2 lsb DNL specs ?

  • Final Cut Pro exports very low quality video to DVD

I tried exporting a timeline to a DVD from Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3 today. Every clip in the timeline was 1080x1920, but the DVD export menu insisted (without offering an option to change settings) that Final Cut export at 720x480. The Blu-Ray menu offers 1080x1920 exporting, though. Is there any way to get the app to export to DVDs at 1080x1920?

Yes, you can create an AVCHD Disc which is basically Blu-ray quality on a cheapo standard DVD.
Select Share>Blu-ray and in the window that opens make sure the Output Device is your DVD burner, not the hard drive.
Note that you will only get about 35 minutes at the highest quality.
If your video is longer the data rate will be reduced but should still produce good quality hi-def up to an hour or so.
You must play the DVD in a Blu-ray player. It will not work in a normal DVD player.

  • What is a good bitrate for my video (mp4 website embed)?

I'm trying to encode some music videos with PE to embed on my website as mp4 (streaming with jw player).
How do I figure out a bit rate for maximum quality yet no buffering delays.  I should probably assume some of my viewers will have relatively slow 1mb dsl connections.
From what I understand, these are good settings:
    share>computer:  Quicktime/.mov
    Video Tab
    *Video Codec: H.264
    *Quality: 100
    *Field Type: Progressive
    *Pixel Aspect Ratio: square
    *Set Bitrate: checked
    Audio Tab
    *Audio Code: AAC
    *Output Channels: Stereo
    *Frequency: 44kHz
My video dimensions are either 560x315 or 600x334.
I saw in another thread that 8000kbps bitrate is good for a 720p youtube encode, though that obviously makes a huge file for website streaming.  Been trying to figure it out, but very confused. Thanks for any suggestions!

These output settings should give you excellent results on most oline video sites.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623549?tstart=0
However, if you're outputting video for a web site, here's what I recommend in my book:
Share/Computer/MOV (this will produce an MP4):
    Video:
    Video Codec:H.264
    Quality: 65%
    Frame Rate: 15fps
    Field Type: Progressive
Limit Data Rate to 55 kbps
    Audio:
    Audio Codec: AAC

  • Very low volume from Music Video

I purchased a music video for the first time and the volume is way, way too low. I have my powerbook cranked all the way up and it's still way too soft. All my other music plays just fine. What can be done about this? It was Alice In Chains music video "Would?"

    Hi,
One thing can help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

  • Export .mov files compatible for Google Video

I upgraded to QTpro so I could post my imovies to the new Google Video in the mp4 format. No problem, except GV wants the audio as an mp3 file. iTunes uses it, why not QT? Did I waste my money? How can I do this, export as an mp4 video, with mp3 audio?

I just looked at the new Google Video upload and specifications.
It seems they'll take almost any video formats (even .mov and .wmv).
I don't think they know much about MPEG-4 formats or what an .mp3 file really is.
The .mp3 "format" is really part of the old MPEG-1 specs (MPEG-1 Layer 3).
A properly encoded .mp4 file would not use such an ancient audio setting.
They are also asking for video uploads in the MPEG-2 format. Most computers don't have the needed software to even play these files.
I think Google should edit their pages and clear up this confusion.
You should upload your .mp4 file because at least it conforms to industry standards.

  • Final cut won't export the correct settings for MXF videos

I have final cut 10.2 and compressor 4.2. My video footage is DSLR media shot at 1920x1080 at 29.97 in Mpeg format. I create an NTSC timeline that is 29.97 and 1080P and I can import and edit with this no problem. My issue is i want to export as 1080i29.97 XDCAM HD 422 50 Mbps in MXF format.(their is a preset for this in compressor) What i get is an mxf file that is 720x576 at 25 FPS and the picture is squished.  I added the destination through Final cut to compressor and selected the preset i want. I also checked the preset and the settings are correct. You can see from the picture below.
However when i select this destination from Finalcut 10 it shows in the settings that it is 1080i and also 720x576 on the same page! You can see from the image below that the title of the destination is "1080i29.97 XDCAM HD 422 50 Mbps" and below that it says 1080i, 8ch 24bit mono tracks. But at the bottom of this menu it says 720 x 576 | 25 fps!
if i export as a master file this does not happen, even if i choose XD CamEX 50Mbps. Any help is appreciated. Not sure what is going on. Thanks

What player are you using for playback?
Did you update the Pro Video codecs?

  • Best resolution/ bitrate for 95 videos? (Size wize...

I have figured out so far by using SUPER video converter that the following settings are best:
    H. 264/ AVC
    320x 240
    720 kbps bitrate
    4100khz audio
BUT the video files are quite big, sometimes bigger than the original source. Does anyone know what the spiderman 3 attributes are, because that was supreme quality for a small sized file (my licence went AWOL after an update)

I think the spiderman movie was at 24 fps.
And the bitrate was something like 400 kbps
    H264
    QVGA rez
H264 even at 200kpbs looks really good in QVGA and the file size for a full movie is about 400 MB.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • Variable bitrates for Live Video Stream through DSS

I was wondering if there was a way I could do a live broadcast using QuickTime Broadcaster and Darwin Streaming Server (DSS) so that users viewing the live feed see it at different bitrates according to their internet connection.
I've been looking through the administrator's guide, but it doesn't say anything about doing reference movies with live broadcasts so I wanted to ask here.
Dell Server, iBook G4 with QT Broadcaster   Other OS   Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 running DSS 5.5.1 using latest QuickTime Broadcaster

Would I have significant performance problems with QT Broadcaster encoding the same video at three different rates?
Not really since you'd be using three separate Macs with three separate copies of QT Broadcaster. Of course you'll need sufficient bandwidth in your network/Internet connection to handle the number of feeds you expect. I haven't tried to plug a single FW camera into three separate Macs at once, though in theory it should work (I did it with two once just as an experiment and it seemed to work OK).

  • Edit in lower bitrate and export in higher bitrate

Is there a way i can edit HD movie in a lower bitrate for better workflow, and then when im finished edititing the movie, i can export the movie out in original HD bitrate.

    dont know, never did it...
I did edit one thing ONLINE..then switch the files to HD....in other words, I would maybe consider having your assets dv and hd separate..
edit the dv stuff online...like thats your project ....back it up, copies, etc...do your edit...
then when done dump the dv stuff, by moving your assets from one folder to another...swith them out...and if everyhthing is named exactly the same you should be able to just reopen the project and ( magic ) now you have the HD stuff there instead of dv..if your machine can handle it.
Then just export your final product from there and pray a lot.
Its not unlike what an intermediate FCP ( prores ) file does with footage...but in this case its not mac and not prores... but back it all up etc cause who knows what will happen when you switch out the files.
as far as size for dv goes, keep your apect ratio and frame rate and so on and do custom, desktop whatever ( anamorphic ) whatever you have to do to edit the real "final" product with the hd footage....you know?...do a small test first and see if it works OK, through the whole thing...including burning blue ray or deliver to whatever you need for final product... little test and see if it works...then go for it ( remember your machine capablilities ...or you'll have to transfer everything to external drives and bring to post house instead )

  • Laser Jet 100 Color MFP M175nw "Very low" message even after changing cartridge

Hello, Windows 7, 64 bit. Connection: USB. After a "supply very low" message for the black cartridge, I changed it to a completely new one (HP original toner with the hologram), but I still got a "very low" message and the print quality remained faint. Nothing worked: I tried the 3 solutions posted by Shirlzz1 to another user that had exactly the same problem (Alan_Gilmore), i.e. 1) taking out and reseating cartridges, 2) hard reset, and 3) taking cartridges out and hard reset, then reseating cartridges. I also tried a cleaning and a print quality report. All looked fine, but still "very low" message and faint print quality. The only thing that worked was changing the cartridge a second time to a completely different (new) one -- now everything's fine. So I'm guessing the first replacement cartridge I used is defective. However, is there anything else I can try with the apparently defective cartridge? They do cost a pretty penny, especially here in Denmark. Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

    Hi,
    Please check for these settings
    setup menu> system setup>supply settings
Under this you have a option
    Black Cartridge
    very low settings>stop/Prompt/Continue, select continue
    low threshold> on/off
    same for color too
    Hope this helps

A solution is only as good as the problem definition. You have not defined any problem.. thus it is quite difficult to suggest any type of solution to you.

  • Very low arcsize problem.

For weeks now I've been scrambling to find a cause for our newly created Solaris 11 NAS slowness issue. The server has two SSD drives for Sol 11 in a mirrored rpool and four SATA drives in a mirror'd pool for data with many NFS mounts. It has 16GB of memory and a recently added Samsung SSD log drive for the data pool.
The server uses IP over InfiniBand as a storage network between a ESXi node hosting approx 15 NFS attached vm's.
We have great performance for approximately three days, then for no apparent reason, IO crawls. Going from upper 300MB/s range on the VM's down to 10-15MB/s. When looking on the Solaris side, I see the same throughput change eliminating the IB network or something with ESXi. When this state occurs, system memory goes from (in good state) 2.5G free to ~13GB free. The only solution to this state seems to be a reboot of Solaris.
After doing some research, I found some users out there(not on this forum) that had seen the same issue. They had found it revolved around the arc dropping to a very low state for no good reason. I looked when my server was slow and sure enough, my arc size was under 100M and I had over 13GB free. They had also found that the arc_no_grow flag was getting set to 1 and was not getting set back to 0 to allow the ARC to take back the memory from perceived memory pressure situation which they or myself have nothing running on the servers to create a memory pressure situation.
I have yet to find a fix for this or maybe even a work around. I attempted to set "zfs_arc_min" to 4GB, this change took effect but just like before, after a few days the arc dropped, only difference is this time its seems to be staying up around ~200MB and only dipping in the 90MB's very rarely allowing us to stay up at the time of this writing at over seven days. Since putting this in, IO doesn't bottom out like before, and allows us to still run about 50% of a normal IO.
I dont have dedupe or compression on anywhere. The arc_min set to 4GB is allowing us to at least use the NAS but its a shame that 13GB is free at all times that could be used for cache and we are not getting the great performance we know we can get for a few days after a reboot.
If anyone has any information on this or have experienced this before, please share.

Thank you for your response and suggestions. The server memory is never affected by any process consuming memory or needing memory.I've yet to setup any backups or zfs replication. I was using a perl script called "arcstat.pl" to watch the arc this last time it happened. It literally went a arcsize of 10G down to 574M in under 20 minutes. At that time I was watching all the process memory consumption with prstat and top. I am going to setup sar as you suggested to help better watch things, thank you for that suggestion.
