Export video clip from Premiere into an existing Encore project
New to encore.....love the software so far....but not much experience with it yet. Here is my question:
How do I go about exporting a video clip from premiere CS3 into an open/existing encore project. When I try to export to encore from the prem. timeline it makes a new proj. Sometimes I want to render out and export more than one asset into the same encore proj. but cant seem to figure out how to do that. any help would be great.
Thanks,
Eric
thanks J.....I have been doing it all along the way that you suggested. Just wondered if there might be a more efficient way to bring in multiple files. I appreciate your help with this....now at least I know that I am not doing things in a more difficult manner than necessary.
Thanks again!

How can i export video clips in iPhoto into iMovie?
how can i export video clips in iphoto into imovie?
Hello andrewmarkp,
As long as the videos are in a format that can be used by iMovie, they will appear in your Event Browser, under 'iPhoto Videos.'
iMovie '11: Use video from your iPhoto library
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2196
If you’ve imported video from your digital camera into iPhoto, it appears automatically in your iMovie Event Library (as long as the video is in a compatible format).
To use iPhoto video in iMovie:
Click iPhoto Videos in the Event Library.
The videos appear in the Event browser on the right. You can select and use the video just as you would any other footage.
To learn about importing video into iPhoto, open iPhoto and choose Help > iPhoto Help.

Whats the best way to import video clips from FCP into a personal template
Hey all, I'm doing some tests. I see some color shifting going on when I export out of FCP using QT conversion (same settings as sequence), Importing into Motion, then adding lower third graphics, then exporting out of Motion .... and finally back to FCP. I put the new graphic added layer on top and have the original on bottom. I toggle the monitor on both layers and see a slight saturation drop on the graphic layer. Has anyone noticed that ?
The reason Im doing this is because lets say I have lower thirds that I want to place throughout a hour show. I want to set-up a basic lower third template and just plug in the video clips for the areas that I need those graphics. It would be way to difficult to export out of the timeline in FCP
and rebuild those lower thirds everytime in Motion. Does anyone know of a better way or does everyone have to export out to the desktop and then into Motion every time they want to use a Motion template.
Thanks to any replies.Try roundtripping from FCP to Motion and back using Send to Motion. In FCP, Control Click your clip>Send To>Motion Project. The clip will open in Motion with the proper project properties. Make your edits there, press Save, and then render back in FCP. No exporting necessary, although you might see a gamma shift. Much easier.
To do this with an existing Motion template, I'd try copying and pasting in that template's contents once you've sent to Motion from FCP. -
Exporting video clip from FCE4 to Live Type.
What is the correct way to save a video clip when exporting into Live Type so that you can access Live Type and place video clip in background to begin working?
Thanks.Find the frame that you want on your Timeline. Press I and then O to mark in and out on the same frame. Go to the FCE menu bar: File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion.
Click the Format button and choose Still Image.
Click the Options button. In the new window that appears, click its Format button. Choose TIFF.
Give the file a name and a save destination.
In LiveType, make sure that it's Project Properties (Edit menu) are set to match the codec used in FCE's Sequence setting.
Go to File > Place (not Place Background Movie, that no longer applies). Choose the image that you just saved.
You might have to make some adjustments to the image depending on the codec you are using in FCE. Post again with that information please. -

Bringing random video clips from online into imovie...
I want to find old 1920's footage of trains and people on trains and put the clips together for a 3 minute music video to go with a song a friend and I wrote. Is it possible to find clips online and bring them into imovie in order to do this? I am very new to imovie so the more info I can get the better.
Thanks in advance! There is a site here. By sure to read the licensing and attribution requirements.
If you can get a quicktime file that meets your need, you can import into iMovie using the FILE/IMPORT.../MOVIES command. -
How can I download a video clip from YouTube into iMovie 9
I found one thread dating suggesting that I download some free software MPEG Streamclip from http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html. I did that and selected the (beta) version that is necessary for downloading from YouTube. I installed the software including an add-on that I had to purchase from Apple, Quicktime MPEG2.dmg. When I try to run the software I get the following error message: File open error: can't open the file.
Help!
RGLautWell on a Mac you can install

DivX
and many other codecs/tools to watch anything.
Guess the iOS isn't really all that it's cracked up to be, ignoring the wider world out there.
Your only choice to complain to Apple about closed devices they make, but of course they know this already and using the iPad as a cheap "netbook" halo effect device so you get to upgrade to a Mac, just like they do with iPhones and iPods.
In the meanwhile they are slowly closing the door on OS X, a little at a time so it's not noticeable.
Pretty soon the excuse will be "sorry I can't play your video you sent me mom, I've got a Mac"

Cannot export video clips. Get message: "unable to create video for export"
Cannot export video clips from iPhoto to Finder folder. Export fails with message "unable to create video for export: "
The video clips play correctly within iPhoto.
Software: iPhoto version 9.5 on OSX 10.9
Hardware: Retina Macbook Pro 2.3 i7 8GBYes. I have 3,184 video clips in this library. I tested Reveal function by randomly selecting individual video clips and in every case the Reveal in Finder function worked correctly. I also tested this on random selections of groups of video clips and, again, the Reveal function worked correctly in every case.
Some more info that may be relevant:
I have multiple iPhoto libraries. My "main" library is very large (~30,000 files) and is located on an external hard drive (2TB WD) which is connected via USB.
The problem reported here is occuring on that "main" library. I have not opened any other iPhoto library since installing the new release.
While the File>Export function does not work, I have been able to simply copy and paste video clips from iPhoto library to a folder on Mac hard drive. It appears that meta data is copying correctly along with the video content.
I am able to import these copied video clips to iMovie. Meta data is imported along with the video content and I'm able to perform iMovie editing functions on those clips without any problems.
In summary, the File>Export function still fails with the message "unable to create video for export." Copying video clips and pasting them to interim folder seems to be a viable workaround enabling me to extract video clips from iPhoto for import to iMovie. I will run additional tests to see if I can find a pattern to the video files that are being rejected by iPhoto Export function. -
How can I email a video clip I downloaded into my iPhoto library to my friends? I tried creating an email and attaching the clip but there is no sound and no picture when the 5 minute attachment "plays." How can I file=>export it to them from iPhoto?
Have them install Quicktime on their PC's from Apple's website, that's the easiest fix.

Premiere 6.02 - can't import video clips from a different editing program
If anyone has an answer I would really appreciate it. I am using Premiere 6.02 and XP. I have a 80 GB hard drive, 256 mb ram, and 1.7ghz. I have about 9 minutes of footage that I captured on MGI's videowave 4, which came bundled with my computer from Dell. It seems that I have to import the entire 9 minute clip from videowave into premiere to be able to edit it with premiere. I have been able to carefully make a few very broad edits of this 9 minutes in my premiere timeline, however, everytime I try to open it up I can't even make a single move before premiere is not responding and it has to close down. Is there anyway around this so I can utilize this 9 minutes by adding audio tracks, fades, and specific cuts? I have to be able to use this footage. Any suggestions would be great. Also, are there any chat rooms that exist where people discuss troubleshooting issues with premiere? Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Ryan
[email protected]Thanks for the help. I'm in a bit of a tough situation right now.Again I have xp with 1.7 ghz, 256 mb ram, and 2 hard drives ( 40 gb and 80gb) with approx. 75 gigs free space. I'm trying to save about 12 minutes offootage that i captured with videowave 4 from being totally useless. I know you suggested to me that i convert from avi 1 files (videowave) to avi 2files (the only files premiere 6.0 accept apparently). I haven't been able to find anywhere online that has the software to do that with. My other alternative, considering the original footage on my camera has long since been erased, is to export from videowave to my camera and then import that footage into premiere and then i would be set. I wish I could. I couldn't get videowave to recognize how to "produce video" so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now I am able to get all the way to the point where I'm simply supposed to choose "output to dv" under the output menu. When I click the dropdown menu the only option available is "full screen", which I tried anyway. It does play the footage on full screen, but it certainly doesn't capture the footage to my camera. I've looked everywhere on the videowave web site and their solutions are brief, difficult to understand, and inconclusive. Oh, something that sounds like a problem is when I reinstalled videowave it said something about missing a indeo codec. I looked for it in my video codec properties and found a couple of versions, but what I gathered from online research was that I might need indeo codec xp 5.2 (seeing as how I'm running xp) which costs $15. I thenlooked onlineto find that codec for free somewhere to no avail. HELP!!!! THANKS!!

When importing rendered clips from davinci into premiere they look darker and more contrasty.
After importing the graded and rendered clips from davinci into premiere pro cc they look darker and more contrasty. I've checked the exported files from DaVinci and they look totally fine if you play them with any media player, but when I import them in Premiere Pro CC, they appear darker and way more contrasty than I've graded them in Resolve. Anyone have a solution for that?
Thanks!
AndrewThis is a long-standing and complicated issue. To start with, different media players interpret footage differently. You can hope for the best, but there can be no expectation that footage in one player will look the same in another. Ridiculous, but true. The situation is further aggravated by different display cards and different monitors, and no prevailing standards of how color and levels are interpreted.
In your specific case, you need to look at the waveforms, in Resolve and in PPro. It sounds as if the blacks are being crushed in PPro, which could mean you're monitoring them at 64 in Resolve, but they're being output at 0 or remapped to 0 in PP. This may also relate to whether you've monitoring with data or video levels in Resolve.
Is there a setting in PPro which covers how values are mapped, as data or video? I think so, but just can't recall.... Anybody? Staff? -
How to copy/export a video clip from event library to external hard drive?
Can you help? Can you export a video clip from the iMovie Event library to a hard drive
You can "daisy chain" FireWire devices. Plug your IF into the Mbook, and plug your external disk into the IF (it has two ports...), or do it the other way around, whatever seems to work best.
The whole chain will be as fast as your slowest device, and I think the FPod is FW 400, so the disk will also operate at that speed. Many people work like this on their laptops, and it works fine. Better than USB.
Don't use USB for it. USB needs CPU and is in general less efficient in handling audio. Daisychaining FW-devices is the way to go.

Color on exported video on Adobe Premiere Pro Is a bit off from the original source video
I have both Cyberlink powerdirector 10.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro C6
I noticed that adobe premere cs6. when exporting the video.. colors are a little off.. never matching the same tones as the original
source
i took a screenshot so you can see what i mean.. Notice Adobe is a a little mor orange. is there a way to fix this? Cyberlink powedirector always matches the source color when you export it. except Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6
i have windows 7 64 bit (Nvidia GeForce GTX 670MThanks for answering. I ddi notice different media players show colors different. But on the screenshot i just showed you.. all 3 are from the same media player.
For some reason everytime i export a video from Adobe premiere pro the color is never the same as the source on media player. I tried it on 4 different videos. Other software programs like cyberlink power director export the video with no color change.
1)The original source from the picture is a mpeg-4 (avc)
2)i always use wmv codec to encode all videos. So the shot from Premiere Pro was using WMV codec. and the other shot (cyberlink powerdirector) was also wmv to encde.
3) I even tried to see if maybe i used a different video format to encode it would fix the slight color change. like h264 and mov.. but nope still same issue
4) I did what you told me to show the source and exported video on Adobe Premiere and really weird. the exporterd video from Adobe Premiere now shows the exact color as the source.. but the exported video from Cyberlinkpowerdirector shows the color a bit different.
Heres the media codec information

How can I export trimmed video clips from iPhoto?
I have video clips from a kid's sporting event that I need to send to other parents on the team. I've got 73 clips that have been loaded from an SD card, and I've trimmed the length on about half of them.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to export them from iPhoto. When I select 'Original', I get the full-size files, but they're not trimmed. I can drag and drop the clips from iPhoto to a folder, and I do get files that are trimmed correctly, but they're very small (around 12K), so I'm guessing that they link to files on my own hard drive, and won't work if I send them to somebody else.
I am guessing that I could fix the problem manually by making a list of videos that I trimmed, opening each one of the 12K files files in QT Player, and saving that movie. This creates a full-size movie file which is the right file size for the trimmed portion. However, I'd like to be able to do all of this in a single batch operation. Is there a solution for this? You can't. Trimming inside iPhoto stays inside iPhoto. (Does that have a familiar ring to it?) All trimming must be done outside of iPhoto with Quicktime Player. So export the clips to a folder on the Desktop and do the trimming there.
