Export Video Quality

Hi,
I am new to FCE4 and need a little help exporting video. I have edited sequence videos that upon exporting to quicktime movie-importing to imovie so i could add title screens. (when I tried in FCE4 Boris Title 3D quality was very fuzzy at that time I exported to quicktime then burned in iDVD). When I add the imovie to idvd and burn the project i get a poor quality product when I try to watch it on my dvd player.
I would like to export the project the best quality possible to play back on a dvd player using idvd to burn the project or roxio toast.
When I choose to export the project in a different format such as quick time movie and adjusting the settings to best then choosing dv/dvcpro-ntsc it says the file is unrendered. So I go back and try to render the file but that's been done. So I am really confused.
Please Help,
SK

I can't answer all your questions but to export a project to burn in iDVD or Toast do this:-
Select File>Export>QuickTime Movie......... Do NOT use "QuickTime CONVERSION".
In the window that opens deselect the "Make Movie Self-contained" box and click Save.
Drag the resulting file into iDVD etc.

  • Absolutely terrible export video quality

    When I export my projects, no matter which format, the quality is incredibly low and bad, very much like really old mobile phones that produced 160x120 3GP clips. Even Apple TV and iTunes exports are terrible, full of HUGE artefacts. This is so terrible that I am sure something is wrong (no one would release such a product). Any ideas? Wrong codecs installed?

    ok, let's try something:
    download this tool; http://mediainfo.massanti.com/
    by simply dragging any video-file, it analyzes a few key-facts.
    what I did:
    I exported a movie from within iM09 and used a few presets.. :

    Video Codecs Used -> AVC
    File Format -> MPEG-4
    Frame Width -> 480 pixels

    as you see - no artefacts! to create the same 'look' as yours, I have to lower the bitrate manually low.. hillarous low..

    drag any of your artefacted mov onto MediaInfo and tell me your specs.. maybe, the bitrates of the presets are .. kaputt ..

  • Help a Complete Beginner Improve Quality of Exported Videos

    Hello all, I'm completely new to Adobe Premiere Pro and I am experiencing lots of difficulty with the quality of my exported videos. My source material is a 720 x 480 .AVI (Note: I intend to export in a format like .WMV or .MOV) that was recorded with a screen recorder called CamStudio. The original material looks incredibly nice in Windows Media Player but the minute I import it into Premiere Pro and export it, it looks awful. Exporting the same video through Windows Movie Maker results in incredibly better quality. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with both the project presets and my export presets. I just don't know the kind of numbers and settings I need to input in order to fix the quality. Could someone be kind enough to break down all the numbers and settings and explain to me what to do? I have looked through several guides but it just doesn't seem to be working out for me. Maybe all I need is a human touch to the advice...thanks in advance.

  • Poor video quality when exporting from Adobe Premiere

    Hey, I was just wondering if there was anyone here that could help me  with this problem I am having with Adobe Premiere Pro.
    I have used it to edit a movie together with MOV video files from my  iPhone 3GS which are of decent quality but everytime I try to export it,  the video quality is degraded significantly from the original. I have  tried several different export options but none seem to do the trick.
    Also, exporting with DivX just gives me an audio file with no video so I  have been unable to try that.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • IMovie - Poor Video Quality when exporting to "Projects"

    Hi - I'm using iMovie 11' and once I move my video (HD) from "Events" to "Projects" my video quality becomes very poor and the video is cropped. I have changed my setting to have it "fit frame" but the problem still exists. Thoughts?

    @Harm,
    "Pear-shaped" (or sometimes "fruit-shaped") is a euphemism meaning that the effort has gone awry; it was a mess.
    @John,
    Export to DVD is a PPro 2.0 function; in CS3 it is now Export to Encore. Is that what you meant?
    First thing is to check the field orders of your source material and of your export settings. Don't invert them, and don't deinterlace interlaced footage.
    Perhaps a short list of the settings you have tried (and why you chose those settings) would help us help you.

  • Exporting To GarageBand and Final Video Quality

    I need to export a Keynote slideshow to Garageband to add a soundtrack and I need to have the best quality video possible. Does it matter what size slide I start with when creating the presentation?
    I would create the slideshow in iPhoto or iDVD for better video quality, but I need to add titles, graphics, etc to some of the slides.

    because it is rendered, i have clicked on "sequence -> render audio" and nothign happens, it just plays through like it would once it has finished rendring.
    like i said, it plays fine in playback, most of the time, just not after it has been exported

  • Export DV Video Quality issue

    I have a HDV project that looks great on the screen and when exported to DVD using quicktime, but the client needs it on DV tape. I'm exporting using Print to Tape via firewire to my Sony FX-1 camera using DV settings, but the video quality is awful. A moving logo that looks great on the screen is pixillated and shots that look good of computer screens are unreadable on the tape. Any specific suggestions for video output settings, rendering options, etc. would be most appreciated. Oh, and I am also trying to export the 16 x 9 video as optimized for 4 x 3: could that be part of my problem?
    Thanks.

    OK, help me out here: I don't want to pretend to know something I don't: This is a 30 second spot going to the Virginia PBS stations for the state Dept. of Education, which is my employer. The caption house the DOE uses will be putting the spot on Beta SP, as that is the format the stations want it in. I'm just trying to get it onto tape so that it looks as good as it does on my screen. I don't really know what anamorphic means, and I'm just getting started using Compressor. I've gotten to the point where the pixellation that was happening before is gone, but I'd like the spots to retain the 16x9 look I shot them in, so I was thinking letterboxing.
    Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, and the more detailed the instructions when using compressor the better. When I worked at a station there were other folks who helped me with this kind of thing, and I'm hoping to get a setting that works, create a profile for it, and move on.
    Thanks to those of you who are being patient with me.
    You can see the 30 second spot by going to http://www.vimeo.com/3277176

  • Exporting to ProRes...nothing happens when clicking "More Options" under Video Quality

    When I tried creating a new export preset with any of the Apple ProRes codecs, under "Video Quality", when I click "more options" nothing happens.
    Is this supposed to happen?
    Also, I've created a few export presets for testing purposes. How do I delete the ones which I do not want in the drop-down menu?

    Yes, I'm afraid that the behaviour with the "More Options" button is normal.
    If you want to remove output settings you created, browse to the output-folder and just delete the ones you need. In my case (MacOSX.7.5) it is located here:
    /Users/<user name>/Documents/Adobe/SpeedGrade/6.0/settings/output/

  • Exported video too large, quality poor

    Hey guys. I'm starting with a 1440x1080 mts video, trimming it down (total trimmed length is about 7 minutes) and exporting it to a 1440x1080 mp4.
    But sadly, I have to increase the bitrate very high in order to get quality that approaches the original, resulting in a much larger file size. I managed to get the size of the exported video (shown in the table below) to a reasonable size, but it was still lower quality than the original.. Can I get some help here? Essentially, I just want to export the video with the original resolution and around the same size but in something like .mp4 format.
    PowerDirector11 achieved this with no fuss.

    The answers are in the details. But, from what you offered above, whether you have Premiere Elements 10 or 11 Windows, here is what I am suggesting that you try.
    Import your 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second into Premiere Elements, using the project preset of:
    NTSC AVCHD HD1080i30.
    If you are using version 10, you do that in the new project dialog yourself.
    If you are using version 11, the program is supposed to do that setting automatically based on your first drag of the clip to the Timeline. Check Edit Menu/Projects Settings to make sure that the program has recognized your video properties correctly and assigned the appropriate project preset. If not, open a new project and go to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset yourself, making sure to put a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings on This Project. After OK'ing out of there, then bring in your video via Add Media/Project Assets/drag to Timeline.
    When you get around to exporting, give the following a try (in looks like that was the area that you were exploring already)
    If version 10, Share/Computer/AVCHD
    If version 11, Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD
    use the preset = MP4-H264 1920 x 1080p30
    That preset uses default bitrates of Target 32 Mbps and Maximum 40 Mbps. Go with that to get a baseline for your video which appears to have an overall bitrate of about 12 or lower Mbps. If necessary, redo, Lowering for file size requirements.
    Then let us know what that looks like.
    Can you shoot at 1920 x 1080 at a higher bitrate with your camera? And does your camera shoot progressive as well as interlaced video?
    Thanks.

  • Video quality changing at export

    I import a high q movie file, .mov to final cut x.
    My goal was just to swtich out the audio file (one song for another), but EVEN when I just import the file and export it without doing anything to it two things happen:
    1- Loose video quality, noticable in colors and crispness of the image
    2- It changes the video proportions some what. So it keeps the same height but it grows longer.

  • Keynote Video Quality Deteriorates when exported to IMovie

    How does one export a keynote presentation to IMovie without losing the video quality? It is extremely blurry after export. Or how does one "clean up" the quality, after it becomes blurry?

    Is that the only way to transfer keynote animated videos to imovie? Use something else besides IMovie??? I thought the new apple program was supposed to be able to do these "basic" kinds of things really well, in a user friendly way.
    How do I get Final Cut, and will I be able to use it as a neophyte?

    InDesign's PDF export engine does not transcode your videos, they are embedded exactly as they were in the original file. The Flash Player runtime which displays video inside PDF files may not show a perfect match to Quicktime etc. because most video playback tools aren't designed for a color-calibrated workflow, but they should be close.
    The playback quality (blocking and aliasing) will be affected if the clip is not playing at 100% (screen pixels != video pixels) and in PDFs with the standard video player widget, that will only ever happen when you use 'floating window' mode. PDF pages have physical dimensions, so viewing them at "100%" does not make them match screen pixels.
    If you don't mind the video clip being smaller than the media annotation in which it's playing, then use my free upgrade to the Acrobat playback widget - VideoPlayerX - which maintains 1:1 pixel scale until the page is zoomed out too far for it to fit. You can install the widget into InDesign so it's used by default when exporting.
