Export volume

I can't seem to control my export to iTunes volume. Help tells me to adjust the slider located below the right corner of the time line. The only thing I see is at the right of the tempo adjuster. If I adjust that slider way up or way down, there is no difference when it gets to itunes.

tuner88: just to be absolutely certain, this is the control you're talking about?

  • Garageband export volume - too high!

    Please can someone help me with this because it's driving me insane. I have a copy of Garageband '11.
    I'm trying to record a simple piano/guitar piece of music. All finished, and just want to export it now.
    I find that when I export the file, no matter which volumes I change, it comes out at the same volume. Too loud. I know the normal complaint is it's too low. Mine is that no matter what I reduce (master volume, individual instrument volumes etc) I cannot get it any lower.
    I'm tried not compressing the file on exporting. Makes no difference. I've tried sending to iTunes instead of exporting. Makes no difference. I've tried playing in different players [e.g. vox] makes no difference.
    Please can someone help me with this?
    The advice online seems to be that if you reduce the master volume meter thing, then the export volume will be lower. This is not the case. At least, not for me.
    Any advice/pointers GREATLY appreciated : )
    Thanks

  • Exporting Volume File Maps

    When I close a file I keep getting the message "Exporting volume file maps" which continues for a few seconds and the file then closes.
    This appears to have only started since I imported my Soundtrack Pro loops into the Logic Loop Browser. Also when I use the STP loops I get a message that the file cannot have an overview written yet the loop appears to work fine and I can alter the loop without any problems.
    I have deleted all unused items in the project and cleared the files up but I still get the exporting message. It even happens when the project only has one Ultrabeat track in it.
    Everything in Logic appears to be working fine but I am just concerned that something bad might be going on in the background that will cause a problem in my files.
    Anyone know anything about this.

    Do not worry. This is part of Project Manager's operation.
    Project Manager keeps "maps" of your volumes (Drives, Partitions), for the data it knows about.
    Every file Logic encounters either by just using Logic or Project Manager scans will be in the map.

  • Exporting Volume File Maps, please wait ...?

    I have just upgraded to Leopard and Logic 7.2. It all seems to be working well accept for this when I quit Logic a box comes up on the screen saying "Exporting Volume File Maps, please wait ..." .... and I wait ... it takes a very long time but eventually disappears (after about 4 minutes)
    Does anyone know what this is and why it takes so long?
    I never saw it when I was using Logic 7.1 on Panther
    Thanks

    Well it did that a few times and now ... it seems to have sorted itself out and does it unnoticed like you say.
    Yay!

  • Can't export volume automation

    I've mixed a project in LogicX and need to create a version in Logic 9... when I 'export track as audio file' I'm making sure to select 'export pan & automation data'....but when I import the track into the Logic 9 project, my automation data is gone.   I really need to figure this out as I've spent a lot of time tweaking the volume of many tracks and would hate to have to do it all over again.......HELP!
    thanks,
    John

    Hi
    I think that you will find that the volume and pan automation has been burned or "printed" to the audio file such that the audio itself has been 'affected'. The automation data itself is not exported.

  • Lvm2 on LUKS @ boot time: volume group found but not importing

    I have so far succeeded in making ArchLinux boot as far as properly asking for my encrypted partition's passphrase and unlocking the encrypted partition (/dev/sda2) whererein lies the root filesystem; the encrypted partition contains a lvm2 group that has logical volumes on it for swap and root.  However, instead of importing the group, it simply acknowledges that one exists;

I've tried everything from different mount points in fstab (i.e. /dev/crypt/root instead of /dev/mapper/crypt-root) to putting the encrypted partition in /etc/crypttab to changing the order of "root=" and "cryptdevice=" in the kernel parameters in menu.lst, and this is as far as I have gotten.

    In https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=164267
    there is a similar issue of today, but with a UUID naming instead of a label. Maybe you want to try the workaround described there with an udev-rule. If you re-typed the kernel line, please double-check it (asking that because you have lvm and LVM in there).
    What's the problem with the "block" hook for you regarding the partition size?
    The initramfs does not fit with the block hook? I'm asking that too, because the "block" hook includes the old "usb" one.
    Is the usb-stick there at "/dev/disk/by-label/MARTINC" after boot?

  • Iphoto fails to render files for export to certain folders after upgrade

    I just upgraded to Yosemite and the latest version of iPhoto but I now unfortunately get an error message when I try to export photos. It seems to work if I export to the main Documents folder but fails if I try to export to a sub folder of the main Documents folder (very odd) which is where I want the exports to be saved. The error message says "Unable to render file for export:/Volumes/NO NAME/DCIM/IMG-1058.jpg". I don't know why the path name shown here is a SD Card path which is not connected. Hope someone can help? It worked fine before the upgrade to iPhoto 9.6.1
    Thanks
    Craig

    The iPhoto preference file might be wonky. Try the following:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
    3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
    where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

  • Iphoto `11 album won't export to sd card or desktop folder

    i have an album created in iphoto '11 that includes digital photos and scanned jpeg files of old photos going back to the 1920s.  i would like to put them on an sdhc 4gb memory card and then use this in a digital photo frame.  when i try to export, i get the message "unable to export/Volumes/NONAME.  i tried to copy the photos using select all and exporting them to a folder on my desktop -- the order and renaming is lost; also, when i try to copy the folder onto the memory card, i get a blocked symbol.  i've tried drag and drop and it doesn't work either.  i'm very new to iphoto and cannot seem to find simple instructions anywhere on the web.  i'm working with mac os x lion.  please help!

    Se #2 above
    2 - order is a function of the viewing program - not the exporting program - for example the finder can view files in name order, date created order, date modified order, size order, etc - files have no order  - the viewing program determins that
    So you can determine what viewing order you are going to use in the viewing program and make the album match that
    Often people view in alpha order - so when you export use the sequential numbering option and the alpha sort in the viewing program will match the album order

    Does VxVM volume defines on control domain can be exported to guest domain for data disk purpose? If yes, what is the procedure?

    Currently VxVM volume are exported as single-slice disk, so they can not be used as a full disk that you can partition
    or on which you can install the Solaris OS. See http://blogs.sun.com/achartre ; note that this is going to change with
    Solaris 10 Update 5 (and this has already changed with Open Solaris) and you will be able to export volumes as
    full disks.

  • NFS export external USB device fails

    I am trying to NFS export a FAT32 formatted external USB device, which fails with the error:
    /sbin/nfsd: Can't export /Volumes/<external>: Operation not supported (45)
    I am able to export internal/HFS drives, which have the "Owners Enabled: Yes" attribute, and therefore assume I need to set the flag accordingly on my external drive.
    Despite the fact that the device has been assigned a uuid (it appears to be in place in .fseventsd and running 'repair disk' echos it in syslog), I get this error when running vsdbutil:
    vsdbutil: Couldn't update volume information for '/Volumes/<external>/': Invalid argument
    vsdbutil: no valid volume UUID found on '/Volumes/<external>/': Invalid argument
    And diskutil returns this:
    Permissions are not enabled on the disk (-9973)
    I attempted to add the uuid to /var/db/volinfo.database in order to set the permissions there, to no effect.
    I don't believe that I am the only person who has attempted this, but I can find no evidence to the contrary. Thank you.

    NFS exporting requires specific NFS serving support from the file system.
    Unfortunately, the "msdos" file system implementation doesn't currently
    support NFS exporting.
    If you'd like that support added, I would strongly encourage filing a
    bug report/enhancement request with Apple:

  • SUN NAS 5310 NFS exporting problem

    Dear Experts ,
    I'me facing a strange problem with SUN NAS 5310 , a volume from this NAS is exported as NFS share with the options ( R/W Access , map root user to root user of a Unix machine and the hosts to be in a trusted group ) what is happening is when i mount this exported volume at a Unix machine it is mounded with permission 700 and the owner is root no other users can access it . i tried to change the permissions from the Unix machine but i couldn't and it gives me the message " chmod :WARNING: can't change ...." there is no way on the NAS to change this as i can see . i tried to export the folders under this volume and mounted it on Unix and it went fine , i tried with other volumes used for windows and they mounted normally !!!!, except for the mentioned volume refuse to change and mount normally ,
    Any ideas will be appreciated
    Thanks for you all
    Regards, Amr.

    Hi,
    I've blogged some time ago about this: http://vnull.pcnet.com.pl/blog/?p=87 but in inter-VM communication scenario. This could be adapted to have physical ethernet in dom0 running also with 1GigE with MTU=9000.
    Be sure to have NFS mounted as something like this: nointr,tcp,nfsvers=3,timeo=300,rsize=32768,wsize=32768
    Another trick is to tune drivers setting, but this only works for high packet-per-seconds scenario (works great for e1000); Also you could try enabling all offload settings for driver (for both cases consult: man ethtool). If even that doesn't help to fully exploit storage performance, you could try dividing /OVS NFS mountpoint to several ones, based on performance charcteristics. If have 2 VMs that would mean for example three NFS mountpoints:
    1) /OVS
    2) /OVS/running_pool/01_vm1
    3) /OVS/running_pool/02_vm2
    This would exploit three TCP streams, but I'm not sure if it's supported. Also be sure to tune server NFS kernel threads (man nfsd -> rc.nfsd -> /etc/sysconfig/nfs -> RPCNFSDCOUNT="some_big_number").

  • NFS file - get info permissions fetching ?

    I have a 10.7.5 client that is bound to an OD.
    I also have a linux file server running CentOS 6.3 that is bound to a different OD, but is exporting a volume to said client via NFS.
    The user on the client has membership in a group on the first OD with GID 104020.
    The file server has assigned group read permissions to the exported volume/files with GID on the second OD of the same GID: 104020.
    When the user on the client mounts the NFS exported volume from the file server with Finder > Go > Connect to server > "nfs://server.domain.name/volname", the NFS volume is connected at /Volumes/volname.
    An 'ls -l' in Terminal on the client lists the volume and its contents as having group ownership of the group name associated with this group number 104020 in the first OD.  In fact an 'ls -ln' requesting owner and group listed by their UID and GID numbers show group ownership as 104020.
    However, the user on the client with membership in a group of GID 104020 on the first OD gets 'Permission denied' when attempting to read a listed file.
    And a 'Get Info' on said file shows in the Sharing and Permissions section for Owner Name and Group Name as 'fetching...'.
    Being a NFS admin from way back, this is very confusing.  I expect that the client OS will simply take the GID saved with the file, check that the user wanting to read the file also has membership in a group of that very GID, and provide the appropriate permssion.
    But evidently that is now occuring in this instance.  Does anyone know what is happening here?

    Maybe that description was a bit convoluted.  Let me see if I can draw it out --
    OD Server   <===bound===>  ldap client #1  <--user #A, GID=104020
        #1                                          OS X
                                                            |
                                                           |_______ file1,UID=user #B,GID=104020, perms 750
                                                           |             file2,UID=user #B,GID=104020, perms 750
                                                       volname
                                                           |   NFS
                                                           |
    OD Server   <===bound===>  ldap client #2  <--user #B, GID=104020
         #2                                       CentOS 6.3
    user #A on ldap client #1 has membership in a group with GID=104020 but cannot read file1 or file2 in the NFS shared 'volname' from ldap client #2 when mounted on his ldap client #1.
    Why not?

  • Mounting subdirectories of an NFS share

    I'm an admin from an IRIX/Linux background. I have an existing NFS-based server setup. XServes are creeping into my racks because they are, in many respects, lovely. However, there is a fly in the ointment.
    My existing setup relies on this simple fact: in SysV-type NFS implementations if a server exports /Volumes/foo, a client is free to mount just the subdirectory /Volumes/foo/bar.
    This plain doesn't work with the OS X NFS implementation.
    Or so I thought. Looking at the man page for exports, I discover the "-alldirs" flag. And using nidump and niload, I can change the exports netinfo record from
    "name" = ( "/Volumes/xtal/work/scratch" );
    "opts" = ( "maproot=nobody" );
    to
    "name" = ( "/Volumes/xtal/work/scratch" );
    "opts" = ( "maproot=nobody", "alldirs" );
    With a little fiddling around, I've now convinced my XServe to allow clients to mount subdirectories. Of course, I can't use Workgroup Manager to edit mount details any more.
    My question (and thank you if you've managed to get this far) is: Does anyone else do this? Is it really unwise?
    ---%<---
    As a ranty aside: Why do Apple insist on doing this? They have a fully-featured, working NFS implementation under the hood and then give us a GUI with 3 buttons and a dropdown to configure this. I'm a sysadmin, not an idiot (well, not as far as NFS goes, anyway). I can understand the implications of changing NFS configurations. I've been doing it for 15 years.
    Yes, I should be using AFP. Yes, NFS is insecure. But we have a lot of old iron that I have to continue to support, and if Apple hardware is going to fit in to our existing setup it should have more configuration options than clicking on a shiny blue button.<br>
