is there any difference in quality in bouncing a track vs exporting a track?

But how do you select the range you'd like to export? It seems that last time I was trying to print inserted effects via export, it was exporting the whole length of the song, whereas I used to be able to only export the part of the file I wanted. How do you export a finite range?
You could utilize the "Export Region as Audio File" function. Simply make cuts at the start point and end point of the audio or MIDI region you wish to export. Highlight the newly made region, and instigate the "Export Region as Audio File" function.
Go to the audio window, drag the newly exported region back to the arrange page, and select " Move Region to original record position"
I don't think "Export Track as Audio File" works from within designated start and end points, like the bounce function does, as iWilliam has suggested, but I could be wrong. I'll try and test that later to see whether or not it does.

Bouncing individual tracks creates 2 wav files for each..why?!!

When I bounce individually selected tracks from Logic Express, it creates a double wav file in my folder for each track I bounce. It didn't use to do that and I haven't changed any settings... Please HELP :/

By "double wav" do you mean that you are getting a separate audio file for left channel and another for right channel, something like this?
Be sure to check in your bounce window that you have "interleaved" checked instead of "split."
Depending on how you're exporting/bouncing your tracks this may not help, but you can always solo the desired track and bounce your song with "interleaved" selected to get a single stereo file of that individual track.

How do I bounce a track to include the... lead in?

Sorry I didnt know how best to phrase the question. I am implementing music into a game in unity, and due to technical limitations, I need a track that serves as the introduction, and another one that starts at measure X for the purpose of looping.
Is there a way to bounce a track, say, starting at measure 4, where it includes whatever audio would still be "left over" from previous measures (release trails, reverb, etc). The only way I know of is to bounce it from the beginning and manually chop off the audio, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Function to bounce single tracks of a project automatically?

Hi guys
Is there any function i can use on logic 9, which bounces all the single tracks of a project automatically?
I have to bounce everything in Audio, cause I am about to send the stems to someone..
The project has 88 tracks so its quite a job to do it manually..
Ca anyone help me?

Means that the tracks doesn't fit each other what volume concerns..

Exporting Multi-Channel Split-track Stereo

Hello,
I am wanting to export multi-channel split-track.
I have 3 tracks in my sequence: 1 mono track for COMMS, 1 stereo track for FX and 1 stereo track for the soundtrack.
What is the best way to to export this so that I have 3 stereo pairs?
I could do this easily in FCP 7 but the fact that stereo tracks occupy just one track in PP complicates things a bit.

Ok so i order to help anyone who is interested.
The only ironic solution to this problem i found was to use a plugin called xto7 to convert the xml to the old fcp7 format.
i then imported this into premiere pro.
this was then able to export an OMF that when imported into logic 10 that was using the correct 6ch mono setting as separate tracks.
Insane but it works until Apple fixes the incorrect meta data import in FCPX that sets the xml export to the default import that is always surround.
this is the only way i was able to send stems with all the edit points and fades for the sound editor.
If you don't have premiere lying around you maybe able to do it with fcp7 too we just didn't have it in this studio.
Fingers crossed Apple fixes the fcpx xml export.

Bounce per track?

Hi, does anyone know if its possible to bounce per track (realtime).
I mix in Protools and need each track seperatly, but soloing each track, then bounce for 3+ minutes, and solo the next (repeat this 30+ times) is becomming a drag, and pretty time consuming...
I'm running Express though, maybe this is a Pro option...

Bouncing my track keeps making my mac crash- any suggestions ??

I have finished a track and want to bounce it. Ive tried on my mac book pro, but it crashes very soon and say logic had quit unexpectedly. Ive tried bouncing the track several parts at a time IE only the bass line tracks, then the percussion etc etc, but no matter what it crashes. Ive transfered the track to my G5 which has more RAM but the same thing happens. Ive bounced tracks before on my G5 no problem which has loads more parts automation etc. Obviously there is something within the project file thats is making this happen, has any1 had similar problems or know what i can check to try ans resolve this ?

I've had a problem like this before. I found that my projects were crashing whilst bouncing, and it was always seemed to be at the same point of the bounce?
Try to find out what track is causing it to crash, by looking to see roughly where it crashes. Then check your automation at the point of the crash, if there is any automation on the point of crash ie "cutoff filter" take the automation off and try to re bounce. If that works out to be the problem, then I would suggest downloading the latest update for that plug-In. I had problems with Novation V station, and it was cured by downloading the update from there site.

When I do this, is it writing the sends(not inserts) also is it writing the output, forexample if i compress all drums by sending their outputs to a specific bus

Bouncing Single Tracks from Garage Band

I have a recording i did with multiple tracks and I just want to export one section of the song. I've used other programs where you can set up parameters of where the export starts and where it ends. For some reason, I cannot figure out how to do this in gargeband as it just bounces the entire length of the song.

In GarageBand you can select the region to be bounced using the Cycle Region. Click into the ruler at top of the Track area to mark the Cycle region. Only measures marked in yellow will be bounced, when you enable the flag "Export cycle area only, or length of selected regions". Be careful, not to select any regions at all.

Is there a way to export a mix to separate tracks in STP?
Aim:
Have a mixtape that, if played through, has fades as mixed in STP.
But if listener wants to go to a particular track, they can still do so.
Problem:
STP seems to only output a single file with no way of marking track ID's

Ideally, you'll need something like Roxio's Jam to do that. However, the workaround would be to bounce your mix, import the bounce in STP, cut the audio file where you want the IDs to be, export each audio file and burn a CD with Toast without any pause between each song. Note that you'll still need a 2 seconds pause before the first song and that if you want no glitches you should burn in DAO mode.

Bouncing audio tracks with ACCESS VIRUS TI USB connection

I am admittedly a total Logic Pro 7 newbie, and i own a Access Virus TI Desktop, connected to Logic via USB and acting as a instrument plugin. I can record the MIDI and hear the audio, but when i select the region and try to bounce it to a track it tries to process the file very quickly instead of realtime and when i play the audio file back, it is total garbage. I can use the export feature and do real time export, but i dont know how to do that obnly for one track.
BTW, the Virus does not support "freeze" even if it did, i'd still want many many tracks sporting just the Virus' sounds.
Anyone have experience with using the Access Virus TI in workflow and know an efficient way of bouncing the sounds to audio tracks?

I can't get the audio from the Virus TI out of the internal RME DIGIPAD96 card.
R&D of Access is investigating my case.
Any ideas?
I have the following test-results:
1. Testing core-audioswitch in Logic from RME to Mac internal
RESULT
No sound Virus TI via usb; rest of the softsynths worked;
2. Testing core-audioswitch in Logic from RME or Mac internal to Virus TI
RESULT
Virus TI and all softsynths worked (output Virus to monitors); but not of course the hardware synths because they go the input of the RME card
3. Testing core-audioswitch in Logic from Virus TI to Mac internal
RESULT
Virus TI and all softsynths worked (sound from internal mac speaker)
4. Testing core-audioswitch in Logic from Virus TI to RME
RESULT
Sound Virus TI for 10-20 seconds than no sound anymore; rest of the softsynths worked.

Can not export data from form tracker

Hi there,
I have set up a lovely form for collecting data. It all comes into the Adobe Tracker and the Responses file fine.
What i wish to do is export data from the responses file into another format. I should be able to do it from the Export button on the left but it is 'blanked out' and does nothing if I push it. I can't find any details on here or the internet relating to this. And yes, there is data in the file to export .

I have the same problem but... I created two forms for two separate purposes and have had responses to both.
One of them allows me to export the data and the other does not.
Does anyone out there have an answer for this seemingly random anomoly?

Yes, the application is loaded and then closed for each file. I agree it's not ideal, but that's just how it works. So 45 minutes for 200 files comes down to about 13 seconds per file, which is reasonable considering it has to open Word, open the file, convert it to a PDF and then close Word.

IPhoto or Final Cut bug: export creates 19 stereo tracks attached to file!

I am exporting three slideshows from iPhoto '08 to Quicktime to be placed in a Final Cut Pro project. The first two exported fine. The longest one (just over ten minutes) exports and plays in QuickTime, but when you import to Final Cut, it mysterious has 19 stereo tracks attached, and won't play unless you remove all of those tracks (hence, no music) Again, the shorter two come in just fine with one stereo pair, as you would expect.
I installed the iPhoto update, tried again, still the same thing...

Is it just that one particular slideshow or will any slideshow exported and imported to FCP display that problem? Also, if you have Quicktime Pro, open the problem file with it and check to see if if contains those 19 tracks. If not, then maybe FCP is causing the issue.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. On a long two hour concert, 4 tracks aiff, is it possible to export to disk split track segments?

Using Garageband 11 on a i3 iMac (2011), I downloaded a long contiguous symphony concert from a digital recorder as aif files. I split the tracks into segments to create separate songs to burn to CD Master. When I select a segment, then Share>Export To Disk, I see that the entire long track is being processed. How does one only export the selected segment?
