Export web analysis document from workspace to excel

Hi all i have the problem regarding exporting the webanalysis document from workspace,i.e when i drilldown the webanalysis document to lowest level and right click on the report and select "export to excel " i am being prompted the webanalysis login and password and unable to view the report in excel . i have the requirement of export to excel directly without the webanalysis login page. pls do provide me the help.

It's possible to do it but it requires using a script. You can't do it by using the built-in Export Form Data command.

I think you can only export WA documents/presentations in apt, ard or *arg files, not in XML.

Error connecting to web analysis report from workspace

Hi,
There are a number of web analysis reports. There is a link to one in a planning task list. However, when the report is opened an error appears saying
Required application context analyzer is not available. Please contact your administrator
The report opens is web analysis. I tried other reports from within workspace by browsing to them from within the folder structure and got the error for all of them.
Has anyone seen this before?

A) restart your services in correct order
B) be sure that the analyzer.properties (baseurl) is correct and can be reached from the workspace server.
C) wrong SSL config and certificates produce sometimes suprisingly strange error messages.

Viewing web analysis reports from workspace

How do I publish web analysis report so it can be viewed from the user workspace?
Currently I can see only financial reports.

You should be able to see any of your Web Analysis studio created reports in the Workspace (in all of the System 9 versions). Can you as the report designer / admin not see them? Or just the end users? You will need to assign access for end users to be able to see any views.

Strange issue in opening Web Analysis document in workspace.

Dear All,
We are working on Hyperion system 9.3.1 and reports are developed using Web Analysis.
We have completed report development and going to distribute to users.But we are getting very strange error message.
We followed the following sequences-
1) Developed the reports with admin rights on Web Analysis reports and Essbase cube.
2) Create a user(say trainee) in Shared servicesand assigned the following roles Analyzer, Dynamic view, content publisher,explore rights and at essbase level- give the database access to user.
3) create a separate folder in Web Analysis studio and copy the WA reports there(say- reports).
4) At workspace level, We gave the access on folder and on report.
5) Now when we logged as user trainee, we are able to see the reports but reports are not opened and get the following messages-
[1033] Native:502 Invalid Object path specified,
App\Avg_Pln\Cube\Pln1\Dim\Period
Does we miss any point?
Kindly help us on this as this is going to very critical to us.

Not sure if this applies but there is a bug (fixed by patch 41) in v931 in which user session cookie info is not deleted - this could be causing the error if you are using the same browser - you will need to exit completely and clear cookies and cache. Then login as a new user.

Export/import web analysis documents from a script

Does anyone know of a way to export and import WA documents to their .apt files in any way other than through the studio GUI? Even if its not simple, I'm willing to jump through any hoops required. Thanks in advance!

I dont know if you really need apt files offcourse. But if it is a for a workable export to use as an import to an other WA environment or for back up reasons you can off course use (A)LCM. in version 9.3.1 its still a commandline tool, which is failry straightforward if it comes to exporting WA documents. I 11 its (also) a GUI, but I've only seen that shortly. LCM utilty is installed during and on the Shared service server. Good luck.

Unable to open reports and web analysis document in workspace

After installing reports and analysis 9.3.1, when I am trying to preview a test report on web or as a pdf preview I am getting these kind of errors.

Required application module analyzer.reportview is not configured. Please contact your administrator.

When I click OK on this it says communication error which says <BR><BR>
"http://hyprepdev.acml.com:19000/WebAnalysis/conf/AnalyzerConfig.xml?LOCALE_LANGUAGE=en <H1>SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle /WebAnalysis/conf/AnalyzerConfig.xml has not been defined.</H1><BR><H3>SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle hyprepdev.acml.com:19000 has not been defined.</H3><BR><I>IBM WebSphere Application Server</I>"

Similarly when I try to open as pdf preview I am getting the same error.<BR>
Kindly advice.

Try changing the idle connection timeout on your Web Intelligence Processing Server to 60 minutes (from the CMC).
If this doesn't work, please add a trace to the Web Intelligence Processing Server (add a -trace to the command line parameters of the server). and post the log for the relevant time period.

Embedding a Web Analysis document in Workspace

Does anyone know if you can embed a WA document into a Personal Page w/in Workspace? I know that you can embed a IR document, but could not figure out how to embed a WA document. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not able to export web analysis report to excel smart view from workspace.
Error :Web launch operation has been cancelled.

I realized that I can put a block in WebI and then I can pull that in excel alongside of static header, after putting the question.
My interest to know whether it is by design in XI 3.0 or it is an issue. But by the replies it seems to me like it is by design.
@Anis: I can't go for header as part of Body. Because this report is viewed in Web by many other users. I can't have separate report for Live office, it is a restriction for me. If I use the header in body, it wont look good I guess.

Web Analysis document as start-up in Workspace

I want a Web Analysis document to open when the users log onto Workspace. Does anybody know how to do this?

Well I found one way to do it but I gotta call Support because it caused me an issue, so you probably don't want to try this.
I changed one of my admin's Workspace Preferences to open a Document by default, then chose a Web Analysis document. Simple enough right?
Log in to Workspace | File | Preferences | General Content | Document | then select your Web Analysis doc
Now when that user types in their UserID/pwd on the Workspace login page it immediately launches a separate IE session with the Web Analysis view. Which is fine. However, back on the Workspace IE page it never logs in to Workspace it's just hung there trying to log in. You can never get back in! Not even to change your Preference back to open a different document on startup! At least we weren't able to at my company.
To fix I had to modify a table in the database for that user's Prefs to remove the path to the WA document then I was able to log back in to Workspace like normal and do something different for the startup Prefs.
If you find a way to do it please let me know. Thanks!

Microsoft excel error while exporting a FRS report from Planning to excel

I have multiple screen shots of the issue.
are getting issues when within citrix trying to run an FRS report from workspace into excel.
first they get a windows login window looking for credentials of a User name and a Password.
the first error:
"Could not open 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'.
second error:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being used by another person
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
Third error:
The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file do you want to open the file now?

I am trying to figure out if its a CITRIX issue? An EPM issue? or what
We have Office 2010 32 bit with smart view and excel add-in.
Does anybody know why this may occur? I have screen shots I just don't know how to post them.

When you export a FR report to excel, yes, you will get a prompt for credentials, but as said in 11.1.2 HFR guide, you have to ignore that by clicking "Cancel" and then you will get a second warning pop-up saying "The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format ........"... Click on "Yes"... you should be able to see the report in excel....
Both these are known issues in HFR export to excel and you can find them in oracle features guide. And they are not related to Citrix.
As in Oracle HFR user guide "When exporting a Financial Reporting document to a Microsoft Office format (Excel, Word or PowerPoint), when using Microsoft Office 2007, you may receive the following warning: "The file your are trying to open <filename>, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?". This warning notifies users that, although the file has an Office extension ( ".xls", ".doc" or ".ppt"), the content of the file is different from the expected (native) Office format. Although Financial Reporting reports are generated in an MHTML format during export, this is not a security concern. Microsoft Office is just warning a user of a file format that is different than expected. Upon selecting “Yes” in the warning, the file will successfully open in Microsoft Office."

Can we schedule web analysis report on workspace

I am working on Hyperion 9.2. i want to know that is it possible to schedule the Web Analysis reports on workspace?

There was a way to launch an Analyzer report to html using the command line. This could then be scheduled but they've removed the functionality in System 9. The really annoying thing is that they've actually left a lot of the code lying around that enabled you to launch using the command line.
As Sean says it's now not possible unfortunately.

Did you choose Czech as the language for OCR? If not, please follow these steps:
Choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document in Acrobat.
Click Settings at the bottom of the Save As dialog box.
Click Set Language.
Choose Czech from the Primary OCR pop-up menu, and then click OK.
Click OK again, and then click Save.
