Export Weirdness -- it wants to split it into 2Gb pieces
FCE (4.0.1) started misbehaving on me this evening.
Normally, I just QuickTime Movie Export the video to then convert with other tools.
Tonight, however, I get errors about files in use and the export aborts.
I tinker with export location and then try shortening the name of the exporting file.
What I see is a 2Gb file with my original name -- 3x18.mov as an example -- followed by other 2Gb files with names like 3x18-av.mov1, 3x18-av.mov2, etc.
The "Limit Export" on System Settings is unchecked and says 50,000 Mb
I have 457+ Gb of scratch space
The video is HD, Apple Intermediate Codec
Can't think of anything else to describe.
Any clues for this clueless one ?
I found a couple of free utilities to try:
Preference Manager
I removed all my preferences and the problem persisted.
So, I dragged out the big guns
FCS Remover
Removed EVERYTHING and reinstalled.
And the problem was no longer a problem.

Splitting Clip into Scene and managing everything
Hello (this is for Adobe Premiere Element 10),
Can scene be saved somewhere ? i.e. I have a 10 minute video clip which I like to make a movie with. I want to split it into 4 scene and then use these scene in my project.
The only way I see how to do scene is to bring the whole video in the sceneline, set in/out point then drag again the whole video in the sceneline and set different in/out.
I would have tought that it be a bit like lightroom where you make a 'virtual copy' of the video which result in a scene and you then work with that scene.
Especially since there does not seem to be a way to put a scene on the side. i.e. you can either delete it completely from the scenline or leave it there. All the training video people have convenient 5-10 sec video clip which does not really reflect reality (at least not mine )
Am I wrong in thinking this way ?

Welcome to the forum.
The easiest workflow, at least to me, yielding the ultimate quality results, is as follows:
Import the large Clip into your Project, where it will appear in the Project Panel
Dbl-click on it there, to Open it into the Source Monitor
Set the In Point, for the first "sub-clip," and then navigate to the end of where wish that "sub-clip" to end, and set the Out Point
Drag that Instance of the Clip (now seen as the "sub-clip" to the Timeline
Go back to the Source Monitor, and navigate to where you want the next "sub-clip" to begin, setting its In Point, and then navigate to where you wish to have that "sub-clip" end, and set it Out Point
Drag that Instance of the Clip to the Timeline
Repeat for as many "sub-clips," as you need
That is how most video editors work. PrPro even takes it to a whole new level with the Trim Monitor, for four-point editing.

PS - I put quotes around the lower-case "sub-clips," because in some NLE (Non Linear Editor) programs, there is an official "Sub-Cliip" function, which is similar to what we are doing, but with some major differences. If one were to Google the term "sub-clip," they may well get confused by some of what they found, as PrE does not support the Export of true "Sub-clips."
Also, one can have many Instances of a Clip, and each can be identical, or can be vastly different, as we are doing above. -

I want to SPLIT A CLIP. That's all. Make one piece into two.
I am looking for the equivalent of the 'Command-T' function in iMovie HD. This is one of the most commonly used actions in processing video, and apparently it doesn't exist. The 'Split Clip' command in iMovie 09 simply does not work for me. At all. EVER. I have yet to find an instance where it isn't grayed out. All I want to do is split a clip, and add a transition between the two.
While I'm on my soap box, the revisions of iMovie since V.6 are without a doubt the most counter-intuitive, joy-sucking applications ever produced by Apple. iMovie made it FUN to edit video; these last two versions make it frustrating and cumbersome.
To reiterate, I want to SPLIT A CLIP INTO TWO PIECES. If anyone here can provide instructions for doing so (as opposed to explaining why it is NOT possible), then kindly do so. You should be able to make splits in the event browsers, but that's too much like common sense for Apple. They completely mucked up the editing process by doing away with iMovie HD, which by the way is not working well in Snow Leopard.
As for split, I suggest the same thing as above. Put the playhead where you want the split. Us shortcut key, ShiftCommandS. I had problems with it this morning, but it finally kicked in.
I also had a problem when trying delete a selection of a clip. When I clicked delete, it deleted the selection plus the extracted audio of the entire clip from which I took the selection. Not sure what caused that.
I have FCE installed, so maybe I’ll haul it out and try using it for my next project. IM '09 is a pain. I'm not even sure how it's more accessible to general users. -

I am new to ABAP Development. I need to upload a .DAT file (the file doesn#t have any proper structure-- Please find the .DAT file in the attachment). After uploading the DATA (.DAT) fiel I need to split in into different columns. Refering the attached .DAT fiel the fields in bracets like:

Rest of the blocks don't seems to have any relation.

Here as we can see last characters are getting deleted by program. For example in first line
determine 'r' is missing in extreme right.
In 3rd line c is missing in extreme left (word change is needed. Program
prints hange.
Also in 3rd line extreme right 't' is missing
Also in 4th line extreme right 'a' is missing
Also the last line is not being printed. In last line "CO2." " should appear.
There are two issues:
1. Why last word of each sentence is not being printed?
2. Why last sentence is not being printed?
I am struggling since last 2 days. Please help. I made all changes like replacing 72 by 71 etc.
By making such changes, I am able to print first line correctly. However under all cases
last character of 2nd line onward is not getting displayed.
Also last line is not getting displayed. I did every thing like using while instead of for loop etc.

Adapter file sender doesn't split file into multiple message
Hi everybody.
We are in PI 7.0 SP10.
In adapter file sender, I want to split a file into multiple file.
We use protocole "file content conversion"
in the field "recordset per message", I put the value 10 to test.
The file content 30 records .
The result we have is the treatment is not split into multiple message .
The treatment is made but with one message.
I need to treat big files.
Is there some one who have an idea why t doesn't work ?

have you specified recordset name......if not, then specify it.............
in recordset structure, specify like RECORD,1 and not RECORD,*
again test your scenario......if still your file data is not getting split, then ask your basis guys to do a full CPACache refresh using PIDIRUSER..........your basis guys will know how to do it..........then again test your scneario............

Reading fixed length flatfile & splitting it into header and lineitem data
Hi Friends,
I am reading a fixed length flat file from application server into an Internal table.
But problem is, data in flat file is in the below format with fixed start and end positions.
1 - 78 - control header
1 - 581 - Invoice header data
1 - 411 - Invoice Line item data
1 - 45 - trailer record
There will be one control header and one trailer record per file and number of invoice headers and its line items can vary.
There is unique identifiers to identify as below.
Control header - starts with 'CHR'
Invoice Header starts with - '000'
Invoice Lineitem stats with - '001'
trailer record - starts with 'TRL'
So its like
CHR.......control data..(79)000.....header data...(660)001....lineitem1...(1481)001...lineitem2....multiples of 411 and 581 and ends with... TRL...trailer record..

I am first reading the data set and store in internal table with a field of 255char.
by looping on above ITAB i have to split it into Header records and line item records.
Did anyone face this kind of scenario before. If yes appreciate if you can throw some ideas on logic to split this data.
Any help in splitting up the data is highly appreciated.

Split data into different fields in TR
I have a flat file with space (multiple spaces between different fields) as a delimiter. The problem is, file is coming from 3rd party and they don't want to change the separator as comma or tab delimited CSV file. I have to load data in ODS (BW 3x).
Now I am thinking to load line by line and then split data into different objects in Transfer rules.
The Records looks like:

Not sure how efficient this is, but you can try an approach on the lines of this link /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/05/27/long-texts-in-sap-bw-modeling
Make your transfer structure in this format. Say the length of each line is 200 characters. Make the first field of the structure of length 200. That is, the length of Field1 in the Trans Struc will be 200.
The second field can be the length of Field2 as you need in your ODS, and similarly for Field3 to Field6. Load it as a CSV file. Since there are no commas, the entire line will enter into the first field of the Trans Structure. This can be broken up into individual fields in the Transfer Rules.
Now, in your Start Routine of transfer rules, write code like this (similar to the ex in the blog):
Field-symbols <fs> type transfer-structure.
Loop at Datapak assigning <fs>.
split <fs>-Field1 at 'ssss' into <fs>-field1 <fs>-field2 <fs>-field3....
modify datapak from <fs>
endloop.
Now you can assign Field1 of Trans Struc to Field1 of Comm Struc, Field2 of Trans Struc to Field2 of Comm Struc and so on.

Split signal into XY components

I am new to LabVIEW but have spend a huge amount of time (mainly going round in circles not getting anywhere) trying to get my VI design working. All very frustrating since I know what I want the VI to do but cannot figure out how to implement it in LabVIEW (despite hours of searching in this LabVIEW forum and in the help files).
I need to....
Take a signal from DAQ Assistant, when the signal is at a particular threshold (user configurable via Front Panel) log the data to Measurement File and stop logging when the signal reaches a higher threshold (I tried using the 'Trigger and Gate' VI in Express but it doesn't allow user configurable values for thresholds (only integers)).
Then I need to read back the Measurement File and split it into its XY parts to display on an XY Graph (and keep it displayed on the front panel for user observation).
Any help would be greatly appreciated but please explain in detail as I've already played with LabVIEW for hours and hours and haven't got anywhere.
