Export without crop

What I would like is an 'export without crop' option. I crop the pictures I export for my clients. But for my own use in inDesign I want them full frame. I was discussing this with some of my collegues and they would love this feature as well, they said....

function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

You can create virtual copy before doing the crop. That what I've done all the time.
Exactly, and this is how to do it after the crop to clean up your history of cropping:
Select the thumbs you have cropped and also want an uncropped version and add to a collection if they are in multiple folders
Select all the thumbs in the collection
Press ctr or cmd and ' (apostrophy) or from the menu: Photo > Make virtual copy
Press R to crop and Reset in the crop panel.
Assign a keyword or label to separate the cropped and uncropped versions if required
You will now have two versions of each photo, cropped and uncropped.

  • How can I resize a photo in iPhoto without cropping it?

I am taking pictures on my iphone 4s and using iphoto to edit them on macbook pro.  I need to upload these photos at a size much smaller than what i am able to take with my phone.  The only way I see to adjust the size of a photo in iphoto is to crop it.  How can I resize without cropping?
    Thank you

It's an option in the Export menu.
File -> Export and under the Size option you can choose the maximum you prefer. Export that and upload from the desktop.

  • How do I resizie a photo without Cropping

    Hi All,
Just download the 30 day trial of Aperture 2 to test it out. Recently new into photography, progressing on past point and click.
Want to post some photo's on a website to get feedback but they ask for photo's no bigger than 600x600 pxls.
If I have shot at 6mp and I am over 2000x2000pxls can I shrink the pick to 600 or below without cropping so I can get advise on the complete picture? If yes how do I do it.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Matt

Ernie is exactly right. Aperture always keeps your original high-res file untouched. You get a specific size by exporting a JPG or TIF. Along those line, I use the Zenfolio website for photos I shoot for clients. There is an Aperture plug-in for Zenfolio, which means I can export directly from Aperture to my Zenfolio website. No more making a folder of images on my desktop, uploading them and then deleting the folder. The photos go straight from Aperture to Zenfolio. There are export plug-ins for other photo websites as well, such as Flickr. Here is a link for more plug-in details:

  • How to Print Without Cropping Pages

I'm new to the Book tool, and cannot figure out how to print a book on my Epson 4800 printer without cropping the pages.
    I'm using Aperture 3.1.2 and OSX 10.6.6.
I created a custom "Book Type" with a Page Size of 11 in. wide x 8.5 in. high.
I created pages, added images, and tried to print. No matter what I do, I cannot get an 8.5 x 11" sheet to print with the same content as my 11 x 8.5" book pages.
If it helps, I'm using cut sheet 8.5x11" paper in my Epson 4800.
    Thanks,
    Jim

As Peter said, you can't with Pages, but you could export the file as a PDF & then print just the desired pages in Preview.

  • Exporting WITHOUT the Letterboxing - any advice please?

I'm shooting on a Sony Z1 using 'Squeeze' mode but when I export to a QuickTime from FCP I still have the letterboxing within picture.
Is there anyway I can avoid the letterboxing to produce and export a full video frame for web broadcast without cropping the picture?
    Thanks
    Simone

Yes, you can scale your HDV or DV to a smaller size using advanced setting in Compressor. Not sure why you are working with a down convert in Squeeze. I would work in the best quality (HDV) for as long as I could (keeping in mind the limits of HDV Long GOP) and then export to Compressor using a uncompressed codec and using a custom setting to the size a web file you want. Test small files and keep plenty of notes for each then burn to DVD if this is where you are going and see what works for you.
    Good Luck

  • Lightroom exporting without LR adjustments

I've been happily exporting my LR images, and they have always included what ever adjustments I had made in LR - crop, color, etc. Last week I needed a different cropping of an image. I made a virtual copy, then cropped, selected, and exported only to find that the exported image was the original show, without any cropping or any other adjustments.
I needed the image quickly, so I just opened PS and edited manually, then saved for web.
Today I added some images to LR, edited them, and exported. All the images were original, unedited versions. I've checked the export dialogs, and do not see any options to export without edits (as there is in the "Edit in" dialog).
This lack pretty much cripples LR for me, as far as using it for any serious work. Anyone have this experience? Or more importantly, a fix?

I've been having a similar problem recently in Lightroom. At first I thought it was because I shot an event with fill-flash in daylight and I thought my white balance was messed up because of cross contamination of light. But, since that shoot 2 weeks ago EVERY other shoot (around 1,000 images) have been giving me very weird white balance problems. Essentially, my images seem "greyish" so, I boost temp and tint, I boost vibrance, I try all sorts of tweaking until the image looks passable, but not nearly my typical color and saturation look and feel. The processed images in Lightroom still seem a bit under saturated and just "not right." BUT, when I export them... they're OVER saturated - kinda like the numbers in Lightroom tell me the image should look. So, it seems that the display in Develop mode is under saturated and "off." But, I have no idea how to correctly compensate. I feel like I have some hidden setting set incorrectly - Any thoughts? Ideas greatly appreciated. If a screen grab would help I'll try that.
I'm in Lightroom 2.5 and Camera Raw 5.5
    I'm on a PowerPC Mac running OS X 10.4.11

Message was edited by: jjlevan - I came back to post a screen grab from Lightroom and the JPG which looks like the Lightroom settings you see with the tint and vibrance boosted. But the Lightroom image looks UNDER saturated or almost normal.

  • Can you automatically downsample images in Keynote without cropping?

    Hello All,
I am trying to get Keynote to perform what I think is a pretty basic task, but can't figure out how to make it happen.  I am an art teacher and frequently show my students slide shows made from a large database of .jpgs I have amassed.  Most of the .jpgs were scanned at high resolutions - roughly 2500px on the long edge.  They are made at this size to anticipate improvements in projector resolution in the future.  The slideshows I make are at XGA (1024x768) because this is the native resolution of the school's projectors.
I want to be able to drop large numbers of slides into a slideshow and have Keynote to automatically downsample them to fit on an XGA slide without cropping the image. I currently have "Reduce placed images to fit on slides" checked in the General Preferences.  This does downsample the images, but does so in a way that fills the slide with the image and crops on one dimension depending on the aspect ratio of the image.  So for example, with the two Kertesz images below, the top and bottom is cropped off the first one and the sides off of the second one.  Keynote scales it down so that the image fills the entire slide rather than scaling down so the entire image can fit on the slide.
    FIG 1a
    FIG 2a
I can then go in and resize the image manually in the metrics tab of the inspector so that the full image is represented in each slide (Fig 1b and 2b below).  I have to type in the dimension that is being cropped (768 in Fig 1, 1024 in Fig 2).  This further downsamples the image fitting the entire image on the slide which is desired.  Doing this for each slide can be burdensome though if I am showing slideshows of 100 or so images.  My question is if there is a way to get the results below automatically.  I would like to drop multiple images into my slideshow and have it be downsampled so that the entire image fits on the slide.  Does anyone know how to make Keynote do this?  Thanks.

In the layer of interest make sure the vector mask is selected. Then in the Masks panel adjust the feather slider to an amount that looks right.

  • Printing with captions without cropping?

I'm trying to print a bunch of photos in iPhoto. I have 8.5 by 11 photo paper, and so I want to print two photos to a page, with a caption for each photo. The problem is that when I have the layout #1, I see the whole photo and there is no space for a caption. Then I choose layout #2 so that I can put in a caption, and instead of resizing the photo, it CROPS the photo. Why does it do that? I just want to print the WHOLE photo at a size that reasonably fits with a short caption. I don't want to crop the photo in order to fit a caption, I want to resize the whole thing.
Is there a way to do that in iPhoto 08? If not, can anyone recommend another program that will let me type in a short caption for each photo and print it without cropping the photo?
Its very frustrating in general that iPhoto crops to fit various size paper instead of resizing and letting there be margins.

suggest to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
In the preview window you can right click (control click) on each photo and select "fit to frame" - there is not an overall "fit to frame" option - you have to do it for each photo

  • How to create photo book from Album without cropping

I just came from vocation and try to make a cool photo book out of my "best pictures" selection. Most images are "as is" from camera, so have "standard" aspect ratio: H/W.
I also happy about composition and would like to keep all or most of it.
I tried several "cool" templates, but can not get results I want: iPhoto randomly place my images on random template, but the painful issue is that it is also randomly crops my images to fit these random layout. It probably try to make it look "cool", but it does not make any sense and does not look cool.
I can do it all manually and select template for every page, also, changing mask for every image (for some minimum of mask still crops more then half of image, so page layout have to be changed). I have about 200 pictures I picked for album and I am not happy about doing it 200 times.
It may work for me if iPhoto just flow images without cropping for fit? Extra bonus would be if I can select images I want "big", "medium" or "small"
Can iPhoto automatically create a simple PhotoBook for printing without killing most images with random and some times more than 50% cropping?

Canon S90 - it is Advanced P&S. When I say crop I does not mean a little bit on sides I mean iPhoto 11 some times crop 50% of image, some times try to zoom on faces. At any rate, most images just rendered useless. Say you have normal landscape picture of person holding some thing in his hands. iPhoto made super wide strip out of it to fit in 1+2 kind of layout, so what you see is upper half with face, object in hands completely out and you can not change mask as at minimal settings it is still cuts more than half of image out.
I tried many Themes, but I can not find one that would not destroy my images, that are very typical, hobbits images, with margin usually big enough for small fit crop, but as it is my trip record I would like to keep (naturally, no?) all details in.
Zoom of face may be cool, but when the rest of image lost, what the point?
I can go one by one, but this is time consuming for 200 images. It just make sense to have "preserve image" settings or "simple" photo book template some where... but I can no find it: all settings in iPhoto are kept to minimum , Apple style

  • Can i export without double quotes in data files?

How can i export without double quotes in data files using dataexport commands in MaxL?

I don't know of any way to do any formatting in a straight export out of Essbase.  BSO lets you choose between a columnar vs. free form (really Essbase) format.  That lack of formatting includes removing double quotes.
If you're willing to put up with the limitations (and formatting issues) of an MDX extract to a log file, that approach does not put double quotes around member names.  The same is true in Report Scripts although I have a vague recollection that you can put in double quotes if you want it -- obviously you do not.
There are limitations to the above two approaches, the biggest being that they they are not as efficient as a true MaxL export.  OTOH, you may want only part of a database to get exported out in which case either approach may be more to your needs.
If in fact you do want to do a full export, there are lots of OS-level ways of removing double quotes.  Here's a Windows-based approach:

What would life be without hacks like the above?  Probably not worth living.

  • How Do I Straighten Without Cropping?

I haven't been able to figure out how to use the Straighten tool without cropping.
I am starting with a full page image with Pixel Dimensions of 9750 x 13050 pixels, and a Document Size of 8.125 x 10.875 inches. I want to use the Straighten tool, and then use the Patch tool to fix the resulting irregularities around the edges.
But no matter what I try, I end up with smaller Pixel Dimensions and a smaller Document Size; for example: 9725 x 13016 pixels and 8.104 x 10.847 inches. This occurs regardless of whether I have the Delete Cropped Pixels boxed checked.
I also tried starting with a Canvas Size of 8.125 x 10.875 inches, and using Place…to bring in the image. But the Straighten process still results in a similar reduction in the Pixel Dimensions and Document Size.
I am accessing the Straighten tool via the Crop tool. Is there any other method to Straighten?
The screenshots below show the original Image Size (top) and the Image Size after Straighten (bottom).

Ah, that's perfect. It results in a larger Image Size. Then I can position, crop to original size, and fix edges, as desired.
    I like it. Thank you.
The screenshot below shows the larger size after using Image > Reveal All:

  • H.264 export without audio creates files that are not recognized in Quicktime or VLC

    Dear all,
I need to generate h.264 files with video only. (short clips for use with a "clickable" catalog on an iPad)
Used the "H.264" category and chose a preset. Unchecked "Audio" so I only get the video exported.
The resulting .m4v file is not playable in Quicktime or VLC or MPEG streamclip.
When I leave audio enabled with the same preset, the file is fine, but as soon as I export without audio, the resulting file is unreadable.
Source material is ProRes 422HQ, audio+video, about 30-40 seconds long.
    Any clues?
    Carl.
    Mac Pro 5,1
    24GB RAM
    Nvidia Quadro4000
    4TB internal RAID0
    OS 10.7.5
    Premiere 6.0.2

Thanks Jeff, I did get that far ;-)
I'm sorry, probably my question wasn't very clear. Of course I can find some technical info about the iPad...
And of course some of the presets in Media Encoder provide basic starting points for encoding.
But... there is also the first iPad, I couldn't find the specs about it on the Apple site. On everymac.com I found:
Apple reports that the iPad supports "H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats."
So if I want to be compatible with all iPads I need to probably stay under 720p30 with [email protected] for H.264
    When I look at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC
I find (from the example values) that 1280x720@30p is quite near the maximum matrix size. So with 1024x576 I should be ok there. My bandwith of about 2Mbit is also well within range in this case. But what if I want to fill an iPod screen (1024x768) with the highest possible quality video? How do I calculate if this fits the max frame size requirements, where this is expressed in a number of luma samples and macroblocks? What is my max bandwith? The tables says that the "Max video bit rate for video coding layer (VCL) kbit/s" should be <14.000kbps. Does that directly translate to the sliders in my encoding app?
If you look in the table "AVC software implementations" (under Software encoder feature comparison) you can see that some features that are supported in MainConcept, and not supported in Qt. (8×8 vs. 4×4 transform adaptivity, Quantization scaling matrices, Separate Cb and Cr QP control, etc. What are these exactly?)
In Streamclip one can choose to have B-frames or not, in AME there is no such control. Does that mean it always encodes with B-frames? Why would one not want to have B-frames?
A lot of parameters in AME H.264 encoding seem to be set to certain fixed values that are not accessible to the user. Other programs (Sorensen, Telestream) provide the user with access to more parameters. Which parameters in AME are set to what (fixed, non-accessible) values and why?
As I said earlier, Quicktime reports different codecs for what should be the same format but from different encoders. Why? Is there a program that can analyze a H.264 stream and report about it in more detail than VLC/Quicktime?
    etc. etc. etc....
If anyone could recommend an online resouce or a book to learn more about the ins and outs of H.264 encoding/decoding that would be great. I have the first edition of Charles Poynton's (brilliant!) book "Digital Video and HDTV", which does talk about MPEG-2 but not H.264. I saw that the second edition goes a bit more into detail about H.264. Does anyone have the second edition? Worth buying just for the relatively small addition about H.264?
    Thanks.
    Carl.

  • Export without Markup - JavaScript Error (ExtractTemplateXML.js)

Whenever I try the "Export without Markup" function, I get this error:
"While executing onClick in ExtractTemplateXML.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: At line 78 of file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC\Configuration\Commands\ExtractTemplateXML.js": Exception thrown in native function."
    How do I resolve this?

I know this post is old, but as I was having this issue lately, and managed to fix it - I thought I'd post the solution that worked for me, since I haven't seen it elsewhere.
    In short:
Make sure there are no .zip files in the site you are exporting. I noticed my error was showing up right around when the export hit the folder where I had a .zip file.
Go through and delete all of the /_notes/ garbage folders that DW puts in your source site.
After I did both of these things, my export worked fine.

  • EXPort (without Mat view logs)

    Hi
    Oracle10g, Win2003
Is there a way to take EXPort without "materialized view logs", as these logs cause error in IMPort and some time even terminate IMPort.
It will be equally well for me if i got a way to completely exclude "materialized view & materialized view logs" from EXPort.
Some one please guide me the way to exclude them from IMP or EXP?
    Wishes

Additionally when ever I IMPort a user some objects appear in non-compiled state, I compile them with my client tool, but I have to drop and recreate materialized view every time.
Can come one have an improved way to get IMPort with materialized view?
