Export without flash

So I've a enduser who when she exports emails into PDF's, whenever someone else tries to open them, they are prompted with a popup "To view the flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat".  Can anyone point me in the direction to fix this?  I know there must be an export setting which allows us to disable this.
We have roaming profiles enabled.  Short of nuking her profile and recreating it from scratch what other options do I have?
- Steps thus far:
     - Un/Re-installed Acrobat XI Pro
     - Repaired installation of Office 2013
     - Updated borth flash & acrobat

When you make a PDF from emails you are making a "portfolio". Acrobat uses Flash for all portfolios, which is a nuisance but cannot be turned off You'd have to make the PDF another way.

  • Exporting to Flash without embedding music files

I had to create a music player for a website, and really didn't want to make a flash player from scratch again. So I had an epiphany and opened Keynote.
I created a slideshow: the first page was a "Click on song to play" and every page after the first was a song that auto played in the background with a next, previous and home hyperlink on each. Ten minutes later I could export to Flash, open it in Safari, and had a perfectly functional flash music player; 10 points for Apple.
The only problem is that the export embeds the songs into the SWF file, making the file around 16mb. In my current setup for the website, it's not a terrible problem, but I was wondering how I would export the file to Flash (from Keynote still) so that the music loaded externally, and only when the song needed to be loaded.
I could buy a swf>fla converter and change the actionscript, but I figured some genius in the Discussions might have a trick up their sleeve.
    Well, do ya?
PS: For those interested, here is the file: http://clay.bellmor.com/appledis/musicplayer
Remember, it's 16+ megs, so whip out your Activity window. I also built in a timed auto-tranisition to play the next song. Again, 10 points for Apple.

OK, I'm about at my wits end with this issue and it's only getting worse! Yesterday I did unistalls and reinstalls of both Flash and Captivate and made sure that I the proper Captivate A.S. folders copied to the Flash Classes folder...still no dice.
I then went to IT and asked for a loaner laptop to install both on to see if it might be my PC that's the problem...installed both on the laptop and export the Captivate File to Flash and published it...the audio worked! I was pumped. So went back to my PC and tried again and it didn't work. I then brought the new .FLA over from the laptop and it plays with audio fine on my PC. However the exact same Captivate project exported to Flash on my PC doesn't play the audio. I have a TON of captivate .SWFs that I need to add actions to, so if anyone can offer (even possible) solutions, I'd be grateful! Thanks!

  • Export in Flash MX works Flash 8 crashes

I have Flash 8 professional and I admit I am very much a
    beginner at flash.
I have taken a basic flash class so I know a few things.
I got a template from template monster. I need to change some
things about the template for my employer’s needs.
My trouble comes when I export the site. The progress bar
pops up and quickly disappears. Then Flash 8 proceeds to crash.
The weird thing is that I have a friend that still has Flash
MX and I got him to try to export the site. It worked fine for him.
If I try the exact same file in Flash 8 it crashes.
    I don’t have Flash MX and I don’t think I can get
it. Does anybody have any ideas why a site that exports in Flash MX
does not export in Flash 8?
Thanks in advance for any information.

    Hey
Rick, you only made one mistake (but for you even that is
    rare). Greg said
"with the tweens intact" ... and you read
    "... when tweens interact.".
I'm sure you'll agree that with the clarification, it's not
confusing except the extent to which Greg expects or desires that
movement of objects - including "transitions"? - in the original
Captivate project be preserved after bringing it into Flash 8. As
    far as CP1 - to - CP2 - to Flash 8 is concerned, CP1 projects seem
to me to be converted very well. And moving the (now CP2) project
conversion into Flash 8, there is little that won't come along
    nicely.
Yes, Greg, including the tweens, which are preserved for the
objects I looked at specifically ... but the right person to answer
that question might be Mark (Fletcher) instead of myself. I
imported CP movies to Flash 8 only to see if it was being done
without the previous loss of non-supported elements (etc.) but I
have no intention of actually working with my Captivate projects
inside the Flash environment - during beta, now, or ever. I just
feel that the power of Captivate is sufficient for my purposes, and
importing it to Flash 8 would accomplish little except to put the
horse in hen-house. (That makes perfect sense to me, and is greatly
humorous as well; but if you don't "get it", I don't think I can
    explain it.

  • Export to Flash and keep the file size small!

Clearly Keynote has a major bug when exporting to Flash. The files become very large, about 10x larger then the combined size of the JPEG's inserted. Earlier today I discovered how to get around this issue, albeit a far from perfect solution. Simply open each picture used in Photoshop and use the "save for web" menu. Save each image as GIF, 128 colors and rebuild the Keynote presentation. Although a color rich picture saved as GIF versus a reasonable compressed JPEG is x 3 or x 4 times larger the end result when exporting the Keynote to Flash is substantially smaller. Apparently Keynote exports to Flash without adding size when GIF's are used. Apple, please fix this "JPEG export" bug!

    Hi Gopal,
You can get the components in your internal table using the below code-
    lo_struc_descr ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_data( <fs_line> ).
        lt_components = lo_struc_descr->get_components( ).
    * Insert the component names in the start of the file
        LOOP AT lt_components INTO ls_components.
          IF lv_string IS INITIAL.
            lv_string = ls_components-name.
          ELSE.
            CONCATENATE lv_string ls_components-name INTO lv_string
            SEPARATED BY cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab.
          ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
Here <fs_line> is a work area. Basically we are getting all the fields in the internal table and writing their names in the start of the file.
    Hope it helps.

  • Quicktime component error exporting from Flash

    Hello people
I try to export from Adobe Flash 8 to QuickTime movie, but i get the error on this image:
    http://www.junihh.com/goodies/QTerror.jpg
That is the window error in Windows XP (i'm using a Mac skin). I try exporting to QT using in the Flash settings the Flash Player versions 7, 6, 5 and the same.
I need any idea, because i have an animation to convert to video for a presentation, that include music and sound FX.
This is all that i have:
    - Windows XP SP1
    - Adobe Flash 8
    - QuickTime 7.1.3
    - No more ideas
Thanks to any help. I appreciate so much.
Imac 333   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Wacom tablet, scanner, external HD, HP printer, keyboard & mouse bluetooth

Flash playback has been disabled (security issues) in
7.1.3 and you'll need to turn it back on.
QuickTime Control Panel/Advanced tab. Check the box
that says "Enable playback of Flash tracks". Quit and
relaunch QuickTime for this change to take effect.
When "Publishing" from Flash you need to choose
version 5. Newer formats will not play in QuickTime.
    Hello !!!!
Really thank you, your help working very nice. Now i can export without problems.
    Thanks again.

  • Export error when exporting to Flash

    Hi there,
I'm trying to export a 14 slide Keynote presentation to Flash. Every time I try it allows me to choose a place to save it, but then comes back with the message:
    Export Error
    The file format is invalid
    Nothing gets exported.
    Any ideas gratefully recieved.
    Thanks,

Hi medicineball and welcome to our community
    You said:
Really what good is this product if you can't export to
    Flash?
Believe it or not, this product can actually be used quite
satisfactorily without ever needing to export to Flash. I'm
guessing you are of the camp that views Captivate as simply a
"Flash add on" that is used only as a mechanism to move something
into Flash for subsequent tweaking. While this is certainly
possible, it was never the primary intent. Had that been the case,
you would see much tighter integration between the products.
Now before I instigate a long tirade about how this is Adobe
and they are huge and should make all their products work
seamlessly together, I'd like to point out that they are dealing
with a product that has had at least four different owners. So the
tight integration isn't there yet, but they are making strides.

  • Export To Flash in Encore CS4 on the Mac

It has been widely reported (and I have confirmed) that Encore CS3 will not Build to Flash on a Mac running Leopard 10.5.5 and Quicktime 7.5.5 (the latest versions of Mac OS X and Quicktime). I would be most appreciative if anyone who has received Encore CS4 can determine if Build To Flash works on a Mac running OS 10.5.5 and Quicktime 7.5.5.
Thank you in advance for responding.
    Tom

Since no one has responded to my post on this issue, I can now provide the answer. First however, I want to insert the final comment in a long customer service request that I have had running with Adobe Technical Support since early August on this issue.
    "Monday, October 20, 2008 1:59:20 PM PDT
    Hello Tom,
Thank you for contacting Adobe® Web Support for assistance with Adobe
    Encore® CS3.
I understand that you are not able to export as flash from Encore CS3.
On my Mac, I have OS 10.5.5, and QuickTime 7.5.5. I tested this issue
with Encore CS3 and CS4. The export worked just fine on CS4, but again
failed on CS3. I spoke with Adam, and a few others around, and were not
quite sure why he was able to get this to work. I am 100% certain that
using the same workflow, his Mac is able to handle this process, but
none of the others I was able to try this on could. As far as I am
concerned, his ability to perform this export is a fluke, and cannot be
    reproduced through known methods.
However, the issue is resolved in the CS4 release, so you should be all
set to do your flash exports once you get your upgrade.
I hope this information helps to resolve your issue. If you require
further assistance with this issue, please update your web case with
complete details, including what steps you have applied and any error
    messages you are receiving.
You may also call Technical Support at (800) 642-3623. We are available
    from 6:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday - Friday, Pacific Time.

Now let me post my response:
    "Thursday, October 23, 2008 12:40:06 PM PDT
    Joshua E.,
Thank you for your clear response to the issue of not being able to Build to Flash using Encore CS3. I can confirm the 100% accuracy
of everything you have said by adding my own experiences of the last 48 hours with Adobe Production Premium CS3 and CS4.
Two days ago I purchased the new Macbook Pro (Intel 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM). Immediately after setting up the Macbook Pro and getting i
t operating, I installed Adobe Production Premium CS3 (and all updates to CS3 Production Premium) on this brand new Macbook Pro. No
other software outside of the Mac OS 10.5.5 (and all updates to it) had been installed on this Macbook Pro. I then opened Premiere
CS3, placed 10 seconds of bars and tone in the timeline, and directly exported this to Encore CS3. I then selected Build To Flash.
Once again Encore CS3 froze at the "transcoding video" step and would not progress beyond 20%. This is the exact same behavior I
had on my Mac Pro 8-core machine and reported in this thread.
I then installed Adobe Production Premium CS4 on my Mac Pro 8-core. I followed the above step with the exception that apparently di
rect export from Premiere Pro CS4 to Encore CS4 is no longer available. I simple exported the Premiere Pro 10 second timeline to a
Quicktime .mov file using the Export>Media command in Premiere Pro CS4. I then took this .mov file into Encore CS4 and without bui
lding any menus, selected Build To Flash. The Build to Flash occurred perfectly with no problems at the "transcoding video" step or
    any other step.
Needless to say, I am very pleased to see that Adobe has corrected the problems with Build to Flash in CS4 on a Mac. However, this
problem had been well reported in numerous forums (including the Adobe Encore Forum) on the web as far back as six months ago, and
I am saddened to see that Adobe did not feel it was worth the effort to repair the issue with Build To Flash in CS3 on a Mac that w
as apparently caused by an upgrade to Quicktime that Apple released sometime after Quicktime 7.3.1. I cannot expect Apple to addres
s issues with Adobe software caused by their Quicktime upgrades. I do, however, expect Adobe to see that their software runs on the
latest editions of both Mac OS X and Quicktime. Otherwise, as happened with Encore CS3 and Build to Flash on a Mac, the customer bu
ys the software expecting it to work and it does not. We are in a tough economy now. I need the software from Adobe that supports
my media production company to work, and I don't need Apple and Adobe pointing the finger at each other when it does not. I hope th
at you will pass this message along to senior Adobe management.
I do thank you for telling me your observations on Build To Flash with a Mac under Encore CS3.

  • Captivate without Flash Knowledge

Is it possible to create screen movement training demos with
Captivate without having experience with Flash? I know it exports
to Flash...but does one need to know Flash to create basic
    demos?

    Hi Outrider1957
This is one of the things I dearly LOVE about Captivate! It
goes far to equalize the playing field between Flash developers and
those of us that are Flash illiterate.
Yes, you can be quite successful with Captivate while being
blissfully unaware of how to do anything Flash related. Granted,
the more you know about the two, the better you will be equipped to
tweak things to suit you better. But the bottom line is that you
need not have any Flash skills whatsoever to be successful using
    Captivate.

  • Error when trying to export as Flash

I'm attempting to export my very small test project as Flash, but two errors occur:
    1. Adobe Encore has encountered an error. [..\..\src\AMEEncoder.cpp-2359]
There is only a "Continue" button to click, so I click it and the Build Progress bar finishes and states "Completed". I then click "OK" and get this second error:
    2. "An input contract violation has occurred!"
There is only an "OK" button to click, so I click it and that's it.
I try to play the swf or index.html that was created and though the Flash build opens to my main menu, complete with correct navigation and highlights states, their respective videos do not playback when selected from the menu. Only a blank black screen appears. If I click Pause or Play respectively, nothing changes, but I can select the "Next" button and it initiates my set end action for that clip and correctly returns me to the main menu. So, some of the settings stick, but video playback does not.
Some other info about this Encore project:
From Premiere Pro CS3, I used the "Export to Encore" export option. I selected "Author With Menus", and changed my Encoding Settings to a custom setting of:
NTSC, 720x480, 29.97 drop frame [fps], Progressive, Quality 5.0
    192 [kbps], 48kHz, 16 bit, Stereo, MPEG
    CBR, 9.00 [Mbps]
It successfully encoded without error and opened Encore and such.
Hope I have provided enough info...

    Hey Neil,
Thanks for replying. When I author DVD's, I use the basic encoding standards you listed above.
In this case, since the output is not written media, I was encoding in a way that would give me the best possible results (in theory at least) when planning on flv being the final encoded output, where lowest possible file size with best possible quality is the goal (since it's home will be on the web, not a DVD).
As for my issue with the errors generated from the Export to Flash option, I have learned some things, and was able to successfully Export to Flash.
One thing is that apparently the Flash encoder that EncoreDVD CS3 uses is not the same as the Adobe Flash CS3 Video Encoder or whatever Flash encoding engine Premiere uses. Encore's Flash output settings are limited, and so are the results.
What I had to do was export my PP CS3 projects to Flash using Adobe Media Encoder and update the XML that Encore spits out accordingly to point to my newly encoded flv's, replacing the flv's that Encore created... not a big deal, but one extra step and little more waiting time.
Now, the results are stunning! And since I'm not comfortable in Flash CS3 or coding ActionScript, having Encore create the menu interface, with all the navigation and interactivity and such, for me was a big BIG plus!

  • Full-slide hyperlinks after exporting to Flash

I have created a simple Keynote presentation (an image, some text, and then a transition to the next image/text slide) that I want to work as a Flash movie with hyperlinks. I want the entire slide to be a hyperlink, but can only get it to work on the text. (In other words, I want the viewer to be able to click anywhere on any slide during the presentation and be taken to a Web site for more information.)
I can make the images hyperlinks and get them to work in Keynote, but when I export to Flash, it does not retain the hyperlinks. If I just make the text hyperlinks, they stay. Still, I don't want the viewer to have to click on the text -- just anywhere in the video.
I believe the problem may be related to the automatic builds and transitions I have set up in Keynote, as a simple one-slide presentation with one image enabled as a hyperlink works just fine when viewed as a Flash video. But I need to keep the transitions.
I am viewing the Flash videos in Safari and Mozilla.
Does anybody know what is causing this?
    Thanks for your help,
    Cavan
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   iLife '05, Keynote 2.0.2

I just tested t his in Keynote 3 and it works fine. The only problem with FULL SLIDE links is you can't make it go to slide 2 without adding some sort of button ON TOP of the full slide link. Also, in my case at least, the Flash plug-in in Safari forced me to change my security settings to allow a flash movie to open a web page. Once I did that and restarted Safari, clicking my first slide opens the Apple page right in the same browser window as the flash movie. Opening the flash in the Stand alone Flash 8 player opens safari, then a new window with my web page.

  • Audio wont export to Flash 8/  Wont publish in Captivate

    Hello,
I am trying to export my captivate project to Flash 8 with
audio backgrounds and clips for narration. For some reason, the
audio is not importing. Can somebody PLEASE help?
The reason I am exporting to Flash 8 is that Captivate hangs
when I'm trying to publish. There is a lot of full motion in this
CP file. I thought it was just being slow, so I let it sit
overnight and it was still not published..Any ideas? I would much
prefer to publish this in Captivate then Flash..

It seems I found the solution. It's easy, but thanks for
replying without answering teh original posters questions... sorry
if I seem frustrated, but so far every single time I posted a
question about Adobe products, most of the time after a day or two
of trying to find the answer myself, and although even after days I
still thought (think) it was a very legitimate question - like how
do I find out if an MC is running, i.e. if the _current_frame+1 is
going to be played or not (answer: not possible, unless I overwrite
the movieclip class with one where all methods that could possibly
change the play status are overwritten to set a public class
variable like "is_playing" true or false) - I get no response.
The answer this time is - I say this to the original poster -
to go to the advanced audio dialog, export all audio, and then
export to flash works, it automatically includes the audio! It was
mentioned by someone above to use this method, but in a wrong
context - there also was the advice to then include the audio
manually in the Flash project. This is strange advice, since a) it
works automatically, and b) it SHOULD work automatically, so this
workaround from someone posting with an Adobe logo is not an answer
I would be satisfied with. I pay Adobe for working products, I can
    come up with workarounds myself!
I do know how hard it is to answer user questions in such a
busy forum (I once worked at one of the major Linux companies for 5
years and occasionally voluntarily stepped into discussions on the
mailinglists), I'm just a little frustrated about never being taken
    seriously... :-)

  • Why can't I export to Flash anymore?

I used to be able to export to Flash (swf)....now that I'm using Mountain Lion, that has disappeared in Keynote. Apple really has to stop this stupid feud with Adobe over Flash... get over it already. Flash is out there and needs to be availabe.

Flash export in Keynote was only available with Keynote '08. I keep iWork '08 in a separate folder although I seldom use it.
I think Apple gave up on it because flash wouldn't support the 3D transitions.
There isn't really a feud over flash. Flash is being phased out because the plugin hogs too much processor power and therefore drains the batteries on portable devices fast.
HTML5 playback is now the norm with flash fallback for older browsers. Animations using HTML5, CSS and javascript are the new wave and will eventually replace flash altogether since they play natively in modern browsers without the need for a plugin.
Its not just flash that is fading into history. Apple's QuickTime is dying the same death.

  • Lightroom exporting without LR adjustments

I've been happily exporting my LR images, and they have always included what ever adjustments I had made in LR - crop, color, etc. Last week I needed a different cropping of an image. I made a virtual copy, then cropped, selected, and exported only to find that the exported image was the original show, without any cropping or any other adjustments.
I needed the image quickly, so I just opened PS and edited manually, then saved for web.
Today I added some images to LR, edited them, and exported. All the images were original, unedited versions. I've checked the export dialogs, and do not see any options to export without edits (as there is in the "Edit in" dialog).
This lack pretty much cripples LR for me, as far as using it for any serious work. Anyone have this experience? Or more importantly, a fix?

I've been having a similar problem recently in Lightroom. At first I thought it was because I shot an event with fill-flash in daylight and I thought my white balance was messed up because of cross contamination of light. But, since that shoot 2 weeks ago EVERY other shoot (around 1,000 images) have been giving me very weird white balance problems. Essentially, my images seem "greyish" so, I boost temp and tint, I boost vibrance, I try all sorts of tweaking until the image looks passable, but not nearly my typical color and saturation look and feel. The processed images in Lightroom still seem a bit under saturated and just "not right." BUT, when I export them... they're OVER saturated - kinda like the numbers in Lightroom tell me the image should look. So, it seems that the display in Develop mode is under saturated and "off." But, I have no idea how to correctly compensate. I feel like I have some hidden setting set incorrectly - Any thoughts? Ideas greatly appreciated. If a screen grab would help I'll try that.
I'm in Lightroom 2.5 and Camera Raw 5.5
    I'm on a PowerPC Mac running OS X 10.4.11

  • Mouse clicks and path not exporting to flash

Hey Guys, I've just started using Captivate v5 and all seems to work fine but when I export to Flash CS5, the mouse animates as linear and the click effect doesn't appear. If I preview from captivate the paths and clicks are there. If I click the mouse icon on the slides, they are all set to flash blue circle and straight pointer path is unchecked. The slides do not contain live film either, just screenshots. If I go into the movie in flash, the tween is there but no motion path. Any ideas?  Thanks

Yeah, when I export to flash it opens the doc as AS3. Also, I noticed the default click effect does work, but when I change to any of the custom ones it gets ignored by flash.
