Export WMA file with QT Pro Windows

- How do I export to WMA using QT Pro on Windows
- Why is my WMA export in QT Pro MAC limited to 4 seconds?
I've got a friend that needs to put a QT movie from her digital camera in Powerpoint. Since PPT doesn't import MOV files, I recommended she use QT Pro to export a WMA.
It appears she doesn't have a WMA export in QT Pro on Windows. However, on QT Pro for MAC I do. I have a G5 MAC running OSX Tiger and QT Pro 7.0.4
I actually tried doing this for her, but when I exported to WMA the video length would never exceed 4 sec.

You must "pay the piper" to export to WMP formats via QuickTime Pro.
Upgrade your flip4mac component and your Mac can export to WMP.

Why (if your QuickTime formatted file works) would you want to create a WMP file from your work?

I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 (Mozilla) to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI. Each time, Acrobat replies (in french) : "il n'y a pas de client pour la messagerie par défaut". Thunderbird is indicated as "by default" in the list of programs of Windows.
Even if I type my e-mail address, etc. in the account of Acrobat, it doesn't change. Each time, I have to record a PDF file in a folder and return to Thunderbird to send it as attached. It is a too long process, compared with Windows XP with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat 5, I had before.
Would you please help me to explain the process. My OS is Windows 8.1.

When I introduce my e-mail address under Edit-Preferences-Email
Accounts, Acrobat ask the e-mail account, the password, the IMAP for
ingoing message (and I use POP) and SMTP for outgoing messages. Even I
introduce all the datas, it doesn't change, Acrobat is unable to send
the message. And the process is not convenient, because I need all my
outgoing messages be documented inside Thunderbird.
So, I repeat my request : how can I use thenderbird as program by
default from Acrobat or any other software ?

Okay, Even if i remove the scene numbers from Story and export the file to Final Draft 8. The format in incorrect. The "transitions" ex. CUT TO: are not in the correct allignment. Also there are numbers on each of the dialogues
Pretty much alot of the formatting is not the same. Spaces that break dialouge and action which are there in Story, are not converted over to Final Draft.
Please fix this as soon as possible.

How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X? I'd like to modifiy the file which I have only as a PDF/A.

There's two answers if you want to modify the file:
You can temporarily turn off PDF/A Mode in your preferences, so they don't open as read-only. The problem would be if you do something to the file that violated the PDF/A standard, so you should always run a Preflight check afterwards to make sure.
If you want to remove the PDF/A header tag, use Preflight again - it's on the Print Production Panel in Acrobat X Pro (which may be hidden, use the options menu on the Tools Pane to show it). There's a profile called "Remove PDF/A information" - choose this and press Analyze and Fix. Nothing else about the file will be altered but when you save and reopen it all the editing tools will become active.

I would like to display the PPT, PDF, XL, DOC files with in the Windows store app? is there any controls provided by Microsoft to view these files with in the app?

Any workaround to achieve the desired functionality?

As I know currently there is no in-build functionality to display the PPT, XLS or DOC file directly on the Windows Store App, but you can always open these files by
Launcher class
However a good news is we can display PDF on Windows Store App by

How can I export a file with transparent background?

I know InDesign doesn't allow to export a PNG file, but I need my file to be in image file format with transparent background.
I'm still learning so I am stuck here. How can I export a file with transparent background?

If you can't get the PNG file export to work, you can export a pdf and open it in Photoshop, from there you can save it as whatever you like.

Removing frames from .MOV file with QT Pro

I edited a .MOV file with QT Pro by selecting garbage at back end of file and using "Cut". I saved file. File now shows the correct content (w/o garbage at end), but file is still the same size. How do I actually remove content to make smaller physical file?

While you have your movie in the QT player Select an IN point ( pressing "i") , where you whant to begin the selection and an OUT point where you whant it to end. Press "Comand+X" or go to Edit/Cut. And the selection will be removed.

As far as I know, you can not play those files.

Maybe you should try to convert from wma or rm to a supported format before attempting to play it.

I'm not sure that I follow. Are you saying that when you open a PDF file in Acrobat or Reader, that the display resolution changes automatically on your system?
What version of Acrobat/Reader are you using? Do you see this same issue in other files/applications?

I have renamed my pc and everything is ok with the file sharing SMB. Both my iMac and my pc can share files very easily.

Export .WMA File

I have a recording that is a .WMA file, and I need to get it into Garage Band. I bought Quick Time Pro thinking this would make it happen. I open the .MMA file, and go to "file" in Quick Time, but it will not allow me to export. Any help?

QT 7 Pro only unlocks the extra editing features but does not add any new components. (Read the product description more carefully.) WMV/WMA are proprietary compression formats. To play, convert, and export them, you need to purchase the Flip4Mac component package (minimum $49). This component package will allow you to perform edits in QT 7 Pro which I assume you now have installed. However, to add WMV content to GarageBand for editing, the content must be in an MOV file container. I'm not sure if this holds true for WMA also, so I will describe the process here as if the file contained video. Once the Flip4Mac components are installed, the normal work flow here would be to open the WMV file in QT 7 Pro and, after the content has been pre-expanded, save the data in an MOV file container using the "Save As..." File menu option. The resulting MOV file can then be dropped to your GarageBand work window for further processing.

Word 2007 won't save files with Acrobat Pro 9.0 Installed

Last night an issue started occurring while trying to save a document in MS Word 2007 (part of an Office Ultimate install). After about 10 hours of trying several suggestions from a variety of forums and MS suggestions I found that the only time I cannot save a file by traditional means is when Acrobat is installed. I tried updating Acrobate and had the same thing happen. MS says all that's left for me to do is get an answer from Adobe (I have to wonder if it's a copout).
Steps taken so far:
Disabled the PDF add-in - still unable to save Word files
Removed PDF add-in - still unable to save Word files
Removed entire CS4 suite - Word was able to properly save files
Installed only the parts of the suite that I use frequently (Photoshop, Soundbooth, Premiere, Acrobat) - unable to save Word files
Removed Acrobat Pro 9.0 - Word saves files properly again
When I say it will not save a file I've tried the keyboard shortcuts for Save/Save As, Choosing the Save/Save As from drop down, and even attempted to save by closing the document. When prompted with the option to save changes I say yes and nothing will happen, I have to close the document with nothing saved.
I hate the idea of reinstalling Acrobat each time I need to use it to keep Word functional. I've seen a ton of threads on other forums related to this issue. Has anybody else seen this or know about a fix/work around? Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if additional detail is necessary.
The operating system for the affected computer is Windows 7 32-bit.

I installed each update individually (6 of them) and rebooted after each update. Opened Word and attempted to save a document (after each update/reboot), the documents still cannot be saved (previously created documents still cannot have new detail saved).
Decided to delete the Office folder in the following path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office
Opened up word and Acrobat went through an installation processes, to replace what was removed I assume. After this was done I attempted to save a document and was still unable to do so. Went back and deleted that Office folder in the above path again. When opening Word this time I cancelled the installation process that Adobe was trying to complete. Preventing the install of the settings and PDF add-in allowed documents to be saved again in word.
I decided to try to remove the innactive add-in from my Word Options and received the following error message:
"The connected state of Office Add-Ins registered in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE cannot be changed"
Due to my deleting that folder?
I suppose I could cancel that installation that initiates each time I open Word (or any other Office program that benefits from Acrobat Add-ins) but that will be a bit of an annoyance.
Anybody have another suggestion, know what may need to be deleted from the registry to prevent the Add-ins installation when opening Word, or know where that setting can be changed?

Zen Micro - copying WMA files with DRM using WM

I have Windows 98SE and Windows Media Player 9. I was wondering, if I get a Zen Micro, will I be able to use WMP 9 to copy DRM-protected WMA files to my device, or do I have to use the Creative software? I read in another post something about the 2.x branch of the firmware being needed for Plays For Sure compatibility -- does this mean I would need this firmware to use WMP? Does the 2.x firmware have the fixes for the battery drain problem, etc.
One more question. With my Muvo TX FM, Windows Explorer recognizes it as a removable dri've, and I can drag-and-drop non-DRM MP3s directly to it. Is this possible with the Zen Micro?

Using WMA files with Mac OS 9

I've come across a bunch of WMA format files. I tried to open them with every tool I have (lots). But none would.
What app do you suggest for opening/converting WMA files?

I actually had a copy of Windows Media Player on my computer. So I gave it a try.
It let me select a WMA file from its "Open File" dialog box but when I selected the WMA file, I got an error saying
"The channel does not support the stream format"
and would not proceed.
So I guess I'm still looking.
