Exported 3G video freezes

I have a problem when I export a video to 3g format in quicktime the export fails. At any given point during the video clip the video freezes. The sound exports successfully.
I have experimented with changing the codecs of the source video as the originals are in DivX 6.0 format for video and using Microsoft ADPCM for sound, converting them to dv footage. However, no matter what I do when I try to export into the 3g I get consistent failures. Maybe one or two clips might export fine and then 10 will fail.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Also, I have to use h.263 codec for compatability reasons with other mobile phone devices and 32kbits/second data rate and aac 20kbps at 11.025 kHz.
Thanks in advance.
Brad

Hi,
I had the same problem and downgraded to the lower version. now the video works without any problem, but there seems to be another problem. when I want to eject the ipod from itunes, I get a message, that the iPod cannot be ejected because data on the iPod is currently used by an external program...
any idea...?

  • Video freezes when exporting to Full Quality

[Background: I've been working on a video project in iMovie HD that I'm doing in pieces - exporting each section of the video at full quality when it's done, so that later I can put them all together in a new project.]
Lately I've been having major problems exporting to full quality Quicktime files. The exported video freezes a few frames in, though the audio continues to play normally. This does not happen if I save it to a smaller quality, say, Web Streaming.
I'm having trouble seeing a pattern in how/why/when this happens, too. I have successfully exported movies to full quality both before and after movies that export incorrectly. The first project that had this happen, I decided to reassemble bit by bit to find out if something specific was causing the problem. Turns out that Full Quality exporting started having this problem if I had added titles. After jumping through something like 50 hoops - exporting little pieces, reimporting, exporting just the titles, etc., etc - I managed to work around the issue. Bit of a headache but all seemed to be well.
BUT, the frozen video problem soon happened again. The next time I had this trouble exporting, there were no titles in the project at all, and the problem instead occurred once I added music. So there does not seem to be a pattern within iMovie itself. This makes me think it's either a Quicktime problem or something to do with my computer itself. I have 2GB of memory, 37GB of space left on my hard drive, and I'm running Quicktime 7.4.1 and iMovie HD 6.0.4.
Please help! I'm on a bit of a deadline, too. This is driving me crazy!

Thanks Matt. I am in the same boat as many people have obviously been in - trying to burn a DVD to a film fest deadline of tomorrow, and after 4 hours of trying to make a disk image, getting 'error during burn'.
    I have one question.
    a) In imovie, I clicked the 'create iDVD' button to create this project - which has problems burning.
    b) Now if I simply try to drag that .mov file into the iDVD pane as you suggest, is that identical to what I have done in a) - in that we're operating with the same basic animal. Of so
    c) I should try the process of exporting to .dv, reimporting to new imovie, redoing chapter markers and THEN dragging the package .mov to the iDVD pane - hoping that chapter markers are preserved.
Oh ... someone said one should try to save the .mov as a sel contained file. is that necessary?
Thank you for sitting in front of you Mac!

  • Premiere elements HD export video freezes

Whenever I export a Video from Premiere Elements 13, the playback on the exported file is messed up. It will work fine for 9-13 seconds (literally the range) and then the screen freezes and the whole thing glitches out and is effectively useless. I should not that 720p usually works but when I try to export it in 1080p it fails. The videos are filmed in 1080p. This happens using both of my Drift model mobile cameras AND my Canon regular camera.
I am running Windows 8, and the playback is using VLC media player. I just purchased Elements a few months ago.

Also, have tried exporting in all of the 1080 HD options with all of the framerate options, but my cameras film at 30 FPS

  • How do I stop video freezing during export?

Video freezes during export to DV camera from imovie HD. Tried updating OS to combined version for 10.3.9. Installed latest updater for imovie 5 with no difference. Can anyone suggest any other solutions?
    Chris

    Chris,
I found a solution to the freezing problem in one of the answers to another problem here on the discussion forum.
It solved my problem and it might be helpful to you.
Convert your iMovie video into a QT film with the same quality (I have a dutch version of iMovie HD, so I don't know the exact menu-wording. Something like >Slect>share).
Import this QT film into a NEW iMovie project.
    Then export to your camcorder.
It took my Mac almost 11/2 hour to convert the video to QT (55minutes movie).
But in the end, it worked.
I'm no expert, but I think it has to do with the mutilations caused by adding titles, cutting, audio additions etc. which are imparted on the document.
The original video that frooze was 17.1 GB. The successful copy only 13.6GB.
    Good luck

  • After exporting on FCP, quicktime video freezes with perfect audio.

First off, this is my first video I've exported with FCP.
I made the video, edited and everything with no problem. When I exported, however, a 10 second clip would turn every color of the rainbow and flash, but the audio was perfect.
After researching a little bit I used compressor and it somewhat solved my problem. It went from colors, to freezing. Again the audio is fine but the video freezes for the duration of the clip.
    I'm lost at this point.
    Thanks!

Without any information regarding original material codec, seqence settings (codec) and output format (codec), it's just generally useless guesswork.

  • QT freezes everytime I go export a video file

Everytime I go export a video file no matter what format, QT freezes! $280+ for the ipod to support vids and I get nothing from Apple for support! Any help out there?

i think you would have to go with 8 mono tracks, 6 for the 5.1 mix and 2 more for the stereo. that or try to use 4 stereo pairs, but that would combine parts of the 6 mono (5.1 mix).

  • Video freezing on playback

    I'm using Premiere Pro CS5
I've put a home movie together with music I exported my video into .AVI format.
My problem is that after I export it and play it back my picture freezes but the video keeps playing I can tel because of the music and the video time.
So I go back into premiere pro to check the video and theres no problem it plays just fine.
I tried expoting the video in windows media and it played no problem it didn't freeze however I need the video to be in AVI
    What can I do????
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.
What are the specs. of that AVI, that you Exported?
What player are you using to play that output AVI?
Have you tried it in other players (VLC, MediaPlayer Classic HC, GOM, etc.)?
    Good luck,

  • HDV QT Reference Movie Exported from FCP5 Freezes

I'm having a problem when I export HDV to a Quicktime Reference Movie. The video plays back to a specific point, then freezes, while the audio keeps playing.
This happens even with cuts-only (or even uncut footage), no effects movies when they are exported as QT Reference Movies.
Can anyone give me some advice?

STUDIO X: I tried rendering the QT Reference Movie to the same disk as the media, but I still get the same video freeze with audio that works just fine. The video freezes 21-minutes into the 42-minute video.
FINAL CUT PRO: Thank you for your suggestion, but QT Reference Movies were designed to accomplish specific function. I use them to burn DVD's, create videos for the internet and mobile phones... lots of things. Your suggestion is simply circumventing a function that SHOULD work. Your suggestion also takes much more time and disk space. You're taking something that should be simple and making it complicated. Unless I have to move a copy of my HDV movie to another computer outside of my studio, this is unacceptable.

  • Video freezing in fcp4/video quality question

I recorded some DV footage on my firestore fs-4 as raw dv footage. i then dumped it to my hard drive. i then imported it to final cut pro 4. when i watch the footage in the viewer window, the video freezes after about 10 seconds but the audio continues to play. it seems like the computer cant keep up with the footage? then i dump a portion of the clip into the timeline and the audio render line comes up red. i render the clip, and the clip seems to play fine in the canvas window.
    Two things:
    1) can I use raw dv footage without it freezing up in the viewer window? if not, how can i convert the raw dv files to quicktime files with minimun compression?
    2) why does the video that plays in the canvas window look of lesser quality than the raw dv clip playing in the viewer window? is there any way to maintain that higher raw quality for the final master? if so, can that only be achieved by dumping the raw dv footage straight in from the fs-4? or can it be done thru the traditional log and capture?
    sorry about the dozen questions.
    Thanks.
    David

If i understand you correctly :
    1) can I use raw dv footage without it freezing up in the viewer window? if not, how can i convert the raw dv files to quicktime files with minimun compression?
either put the clip on the timeline and render it, or render it and export as a QT MOVIE then reimport.
    2) why does the video that plays in the canvas window look of lesser quality than the raw dv clip playing in the viewer window? is there any way to maintain that higher raw quality for the final master? if so, can that only be achieved by dumping the raw dv footage straight in from the fs-4? or can it be done thru the traditional log and capture?
dont know anything about fs-4, but i would check tyhe properties of the clip then check the properties of the sequence, for example (is the clip and the seq 29.97 48K, or is one different. what happens when you render, does it help. ALSO REMEMBER THIS :
FCP usually defaults to rendering some but not all, to make sure FCP renders everything - goto SEQUENCE/RENDER SELECTION and make sure you have checks on EVERYTHING, if not keep checking until everything is checked.
then go back and check SEQUENCE/RENDER ALL - do the same thing, god knows why FCP does not default this.....
    let me know
    thanks ADAM

  • Problem when exporting movie, video stops after 2 minutes

I set up a Project containing both images and videos. They were all shot using a digital camera (Canon SD400).
When I export the 5 minute movie, around 2 minutes the video freezes, but the music (from an mp3 file) keeps playing. At 2 minutes one of the videos start to play and the video has a little yellow button showing on it in the timeline. None of the other videos have this little yellow button, although I am not convinced that this is the one causing the problem. Here is an image of it:
    http://dombovari.com/stuff/imovie.png
Any ideas why the video playback would stop when I export it? It plays fine in iMovie when I preview the project, but when exporting, the video playback stops.
    Thanks!

I have this very same problem. All 640x480 clips shot with a Canon SD550. iMovie 5 will play back everything fine in iMovie, but once I export the file using H.264 or MPEG-4, the video stops after about 30 seconds (of the 3 and half minutes of the video). The music still plays, but the video has not exported properly (and it shows in the file size).
What WILL work is if you export it to web, but I can't use that. I need it exported at its full quality. (Also will not work, by the way.) But, again, it plays in iMovie just fine. I even tried exporting from the timeline file (with the reference media files) in the iMovie file package—but I get the exact same results.
Quite frustrating considering it works in iMovie just fine. Any other ideas, folks?

  • CS4 rendering and the audio is fine but the video freeze half way through

    Hi I need your help
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 on a MAC,
We have a project that is using multicam editing of footage from 2 cameras. the footage is fine in the timeline when you move through the time line the footage is 2hours 20 min when edited.
When rendering this out it takes about 9 hours when you play footage back it stops at the 43 min mark the audio continues but the video freezes on the frame for the rest of the footage.
We have rendered a small clip 5 mins ether side of the footage where this happens and the footage is fine when played back.
Do you have any ideas as to what I can do
    Rodney

    Rodney,
The first thing that I would look for would be a gap in the Video, and especially in that 43 min. range. Even a 1 Frame gap can cause issues. I find that gaps can be tough to spot, even when the Timeline is zoomed into the frame-level. I use the keyboard shortcuts, PageUp & PageDn, to step through the Clips. The CTI (Current Time Indicator) should jump smoothly from Clip to Clip. If you encounter a little hiccup, or pause, you have likely found a gap. This is the first thing that I would rule out. If there are no gaps, then something else seems to be happening at that 43 min. mark.
To rule out another possibility, though a remote one, are you Exporting to an external HDD, that is perhaps formatted to FAT-32 (max file size ~ 4GB), which is the normal format for an external to go between a Mac and PC, as the Mac cannot yet use the NTSF format. Like I said, this is not very likely, especially as your Audio keep playing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • IMovie video freezes during playback; transitions not working

I'm nearing the end of making a video in iMovie. I have several clips, transitions, and music added. On some spots, the video playback stops, while the music continues; one or two clips later the video picks up again. I've deleted that section of video and re-inserted a similar clip only to have the same problem. Additionally, the transition into that particular clip doesn't work. When i play the raw video clip, it works just fine. I don't understand. Someone have a clue what's going on?

You might be able to narrow down which item is causing the problem and deleting it. First create a duplicate project:
Click the Project Library button and highlight the name of your project by click on it just once so that it will be colored in blue.
Go to File Menu > Duplicate Project, iMovie will create a duplicate with a number added to the end of the name
Open the Duplicate project and try deleting a picture, or transition or video clip where the video freezes or even just before the point where it freezes.
Playback the movie and see if it reacts differently.
Just try one thing at time and you might discover it's one item in the Project timeline that's causing the problem. Once you find the source of the problem, you can try replacing it or just leave it out until you finish the project and export it. Sometimes it's difficult to figure out how something got corrupted and subsequently how to ressurect it.

  • Mini-DVI to VGA - online video freezes when dragged from MacBook to LCD TV

I connected my MacBook to my LCD TV this morning via Mini-DVI to VGA, and am trying to stream online video. The video works fine when the browser is on my MacBook screen, but when I drag it over to the LCD TV, the video freezes. I tried setting the screens to mirrored as well, and the video wouldn't play (on either). I'm not really sure what else to try. Any help would be appreciated!

    Try this...
With the TV connected, go into Displays Preferences and click on the Arrangement tab. You should see two blue rectangles meant to represent the two screens. One of the rectangles will have a white bar across the top, meant to represent the menu bar. Drag the small white bar from one blue rectangle to the other. This will move the real menu bar to the TV, making it the primary display. Now see if your video will play on the TV.

  • I am trying to export a video I have made in FCP 10.0.8 to Youtube or to a master file and I keep on getting an error -50, or "error exporting master file at frame 20074" Any ideas?

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine.  I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing.  Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error.  It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in.  Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Gerry

    Hi Russ,
Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec.  I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app.  Any ideas?
    Thanks
