Exported AIFF file plays too quickly.

Hi
Im new to soundtrack pro but followed export settings in apple pro training series but when the track is played back, either in FCP timeline or finder it is speeded up. Where am I going wrong?
Thanks
Adrian

On this same subject, I neglected to change sampling rates correctly when going from 48k DAT tape to computer for iTunes. The music is now at 44.1 which I want, but the speeds are too fast.
I found that if I modify the sampling rate to 40,200 and let the pitch and time change with it, I can match the original and resave. (I subtracted the same amout from 44.1 as that is from 48).
Is there a better, easier way that makes more sense? I have the ability to just change the pitch and remain at 44.1 but I don't know by how much.

  • Podcasts play too quickly...

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm running Snow Leopard. Audio podcasts play too quickly on the iPhone but are fine in iTunes. Video podcasts are fine it's just the audio. Does anyone know why?

Tap the now playing screen, and you’ll see a little “1x” icon at the top-right — tap that, and it’ll change to “2x”, "1x", "1/2x".

  • AIFF files playing on my iPhone/iPod

My WireTap (Ambrosia software) AIFF file plays in my iTunes, but I can't hear a note when I call up the song on my iPod in my iPhone. I recall having similar issues with my older, pre-iPhone, iPod.
    Any direction? Thank you!

  • Exporting AIFF files

am i remembering this wrong? didn't GB3 let you export AIFF files? in GB4 you only get the options to export mp3 or AAC (which kind of blows). if i am trying to load something into a sampler I can convert it in another program, but it's 1 more step (and if i was picky about audio quality i'm sure there is a loss in this step). mostly a pain when I'm collaborating with someone and have to export all tracks individually.
here's my query: is there something I just haven't noticed or am doing wrong? or is just the way it is now?

... if you uncheck the "compression" option.

  • Exported AIFF file out of sync

I have a 1080i HDTV sequence in FCP 6.0.6, 48KHz 16 bit audio. Video clips are from a Canon 5DMk II transcoded to ProRes HQ via Streamclip. I was going to do a little audio cleanup using Bias Peak, so I exported an AIFF file of the completed sequence from FCP. Something is goofing up the exported file's rate as it is now running slightly longer than the original. As a test, I exported the audio from 1 clip and immediately imported it back into FCP, placing the test audio in the sequence under the original audio, then listened to the mix. As soon you hit play, you can hear the audio going out of phase with itself. Checking the sequence properties, I have 30fps/48Khz/32 bit floating point. Video Clip properties 30fps/48Khz/16 bit integer. Audio clip properties 48Khz/16 bit integer. AIFF created by: File>Export>Audio to AIFF{s}. What do you think?

Ran the clips through MPEG Streamclip again at 29.97fps and created a new Project with matching Sequence Settings. Exported AIFF matches original audio perfectly. We are now A-OK.

  • Different Decibel Level QT AIFF Files Played Tiger Vs. Leopard

    Hi Gang
I still haven't found out why I get different decibel levels when created/played in a Tiger 10.4.11 environnment then played in a Leopard environnment. The levels are always about 1/2 the level when played in Leopard. These files could be AIFF exports within FC5, or could be any AIFF exported audio files created from Garage Band in Tiger then played in a Leopard environnment. Always 1/2 the volume level.
The QT Players are version 7.6.0
The AIFF files, are usually created at 41hz or 44hz at about 128-256 Bit Rate.

I believe I found a partial answer to this

  • Quicktime quits when trying to export aiff file

I've recently upgraded to Final Cut 5.0.3 and quicktime 7.0.4. In order to fix any and all bugs that come with this upgrade I erased both Quicktime and Pro Application Support receipts and reinstalled both programs from scratch. But when I open AIFF files with Quicktime in order to change their sample rate from 44 to 48 KHz I run into trouble. When I open the export window and click on "Options," the program ALWAYS quits! Every single time. I don't know how to fix this. Does anybody know?
    Thanks in advance,
    Fernanda.

Do you have any third-party QuickTime codecs installed (DivX, 3ivx Flip4Mac, etc.)?

  • CS4 premiere Imported .avi files play too fast

    Hi Guys
I have a problem. I'm new to CS4 having used Adobe Premiere 6.0 in the past and I have never had this issue when importing .AVI files. What happens is that the file play fine in my windows enviroment and on all my players VLC,DIVX, Windows media player.
But as soon as I import these files into my project at 29.97 frames the video plays really really fast and the sound plays at the normal rate. If I try to change the frame rate the sound also changes. Now here is the strange part. If I convert the files to MP4 they play fine! but the quailty of the video takes a massive hit as you know.
I tried to convert the files to .MOV, MPG (which the program won't play) and most other types of video files but MP4 seems to be the only one that works! When I really want the higher quailty .AVI. Again the files play fine outside of CS4 Premiere and I have already converted them from a Panasonic AVCHD encode format.
Please if anyone has any advise it would be great as I have to get this sorted for a x-mas present!

  • Compressor 4 can't export AIFF file

    Hi all!
So yesterday i updated the OS to Maverick. Suddently i couldent open Compressor. I had a video due for yesterday, so i deleted the compressor, and bought the ned compressor 4 from app store. I had to make an AIFF audio file, for use in a FCPX video. I use these things as a professional, and i therefore have to find some kind of solution, and that FAST!
When i try to compress a MP3 file or any kind of format to the AIFF format in 48000 sample rate, compressor makes a track with a bunch of holes in it.
A sample track in the fully working m4a format can be found here:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6737872/14%20The%20Night%20Last%20Night.m4a
And a compression of the same file into a aiff format with a sample rate of 48000:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6737872/14%20The%20Night%20Last%20Night-AIFF %20File.aiff
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! I SERIOUSLY NEED A SOLUTION FAST!!
    Best regards Andreas

Not sure what's going on and because I have yet to upgrade to 10.9, I'm can't really test for bugs.
In the meantime – to meet your deadlines – I'll just note that you can create your AIFF files in iTunes.

  • Imported files play too fast

I am recording lectures on an MP3 player/recorder. The lectures are usually 90 minutes long, my mo3 recorder stores the data as WAV files / 16Bit / 8.0hz.
I want to open the files in Garageband so I can cut them into sections for later use.
At the moment I am using a freeware application called Amadeous to convert the files to AIFF for importing into Garageband.
WHen I play the track/s in Garageband however, they play like they are being fast forwarded.
How can I get around this problem?
    Chris

I've heard of this problem twice, I think. I've never been able to duplicate it, and I don't think we ever figured out the cause or solution.
I guess the first thing I'd suggest trying is create a brand new GB file and drop the AIFF into that.
The only other thoughts are the standard "try this" procedures:
    o Repair Permissions
    o Delete GB's prefs Files
. (Search your Hard Drive for "GarageBand" and delete the files that end in ".plist" and ".cs")

  • Aif,aiff files/ play sequentiallly after imported tracks

hi. i-m try getting some help.
    1st question>
Is there a way to play sequentially tracks in Adobe audtion after importing those one?
or must i play them one by one and not like an automated task?
    2nd question>
After recording some new tracks i save them as *.aiff extension files, but Windows Media player is not able to play them.
All tracks have been recorded at cbr 3072 Kbytes/s, stereo, 48khz sample rate.
i use Xp sp3 fully updated, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 consumer preview as Operating Systems.
Tvm in advanced if i will have an answer.Enrico /Italy

It is always best, and more universally usable, to save your audio files as .wav. This is Auditions default format.
If you import them into the Multitrack view then you can place them sequentially and play them one after another automatically.

  • Flash keeps 'not responding' when exporting .swf & file WAY too big

    Hello!
I am creating an animation using ActionScript2 on Flash Professional CS5 and whenever I try to export (or even test) my animation, the progress bar comes up but the progress does not move. Then after about a second the dreaded '(not responding)' appears at the top of the window and if you click anywhere it greys out closes it.
If I leave it it doesn't export for ages (liteally like 3-6 minutes which is long for just exporting).
It only has 280 frames and the .fla file so far is 9.96MB! Other animations I have made have had double the frames yet 5 times smaller a file.
I have cleaned my registry many times (I thought that might be the problem or something).
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND! PLZ HELP!

  • Transferred file plays too slo

I have a nomad jukebox zen xtra 30gb.. My regular music files transfer and play fine.. but Ive been trying to transfer large language instruction files and the playback is very slow.. They play at normal speed from my pc library in media source..
    Any Suggestions?

    Sickb38,
What is the sample rate of this particular file? Is it 44. KHZ, 22 KHZ or some other value? You might try modifying the file to have a sample rate of 22 or 44. KHZ and see if you still are experiencing the same problem.

  • CS3: Exported .mov file plays back very slowly and choppy

    I'm exporting a 1020x574 stage to Quicktime, H.264 High
quality, no sound. The resulting video, no matter what size I make
it, always plays choppy at parts. It plays fine in Flash and as a
.swf, but the .mov lags badly.
    Any ideas what's going on?

Yes, that's the exact same problem I'm having. And I see the
same thing, where areas with more objects tweening and effects and
such have the lag. The thing is, when I play the .swf in the Flash
Player it runs without *any* lag, so it doesn't make sense to me
why lag is picked up when it records it for QT.
I have noticed that if I shrink my entire stage and export at
a smaller size, it runs without lag. That is not an option,
however, I need the larger size.
Well, that's disappointing. Next step is to try and find a
good screen video recorder and manually record the playback.

  • File Uploading Too quickly

Does anyone else have a problem with the FileReference file
upload event handlers when the file size is too small? I've
registered most of the event handlers with the FileReference
object, but after select, none of them are caught. This only
happens with I use a small file, about 50-60 kb. On a larger file
it doesn't seem to be a problem. My app really needs to know when a
file has been uploaded. Any suggestions?
