Exported file plays wrong audio with slide

Hi all,
I just produced a tutorial in v2 that has sound files embeded
in almost every slide. They were originally wavs, but I have
captivate convert them to 64kbit mp3s. I also have some slides that
do not contain sound, but contain .flv files. (These .flv files
have sound.)
When I previewed the file, everything worked perfectly. The
sound cues were right, and the videos appeared just as they should.
However, when I published the file, the slides played completely
different sound files from other parts of the project and in the
wrong order. I tried exporting using both standalone .exe and
web-based formats using Flash 8, but the results were the same each
time.
Does anyone have any ideas about what could cause this
problem? Based on what I've seen, I think the three most likely
candidates for trouble are:
1) Slide audio errors
2) .Flv files
3) Flash 8
But there could be other, stranger things afoot.
Please let me know if you need more info about
something.

I tried re-exporting as an H264 mov but the exported file shrunk to 400 mb and lost most of the footage.
How do I fix?
I am guessing that you may have accidentally made a selection in the timeline before exporting - and then only that was exported.
Try exporting like Russ said.
And Russ meant to write VLC.

  • How do you play YouTube audio with the screen off with iPod 5th gen?

I used to own a 2nd gen iPod touch, which ran on an ios 4.2.1 system, that allowed me to play YouTube with the screen off. Ever since I got iPod 5 which came with ios 7, let's say I am kinda still getting the hang of how everything works. I still would like to play YouTube while the screen is off, but seem to not know how. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? It's running on ios 8, so if you could help me with this, I would gladly appreciate it!

Hi there, you can download itube, it's in the app store, and that allows you to save youtube videos for offline play. Also, you can play youtube audio with the screen off, even without a third party app. Click on a video. When it's playing, press the lock button. Press it again, to wake the device up. You should see your video on the front of the display, with a play button. Click it, and it will start playing even if the device is off. Hope I helped, ~Samuel.

  • IMORTED AUDIO/VIDEO FILE ONLY PLAYS THE AUDIO WITH A BLACK SCREEN

I'm trying to put a DVD together of my friends' concert, but every time I export from AVID to a QT file, import it, transcode it, and put it in a timeline, it only plays audio and a black screen.
I went back into AVID and made sure that I exported both audio and video...I did. Then I checked the QT file, and it plays the audio and video.
I exported the files as uncompressed. Should I use a compressor?
    PLEASE HELP!!!

  • QT won't play back audio with MPEG2 files

I've upgraded to Pro and have added the MPEG2 plugin. QT plays the video fine, but I don't get audio. Have checked the files with another application (VLC) and the files play fine. I've using files from a new Sony hard disk digital camera. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem may be?
    Thanks,
    --Mike

I've upgraded to Pro and have added the MPEG2 plugin. QT plays the video fine, but I don't get audio.
Since you did not specify your particular "playback" work flow here, it is difficult to determine your specific problem. (I.e., did you drag and drop the file to an application that would automatically attempt a "transcoding" of the material which the MPEG-2 component cannot handle.) Then too, the Sony MPEG VX format in itself is proprietary and the technical specifications do not appear to have been pubished for general public consumption. (I.e., we don't know the specifics of the format. For instance, is it an AC3 audio format, was it VRB encoded, etc.) See MPEG-2 FAQs
However, since you already have the MPEG-2 component installed, have you tried playback/conversion in an application like MPEG Streamclip? It may allow you to convert the file to DV for editing or directly to other QT/iPod compatible formats with audio if no editing is required/desired.

  • File Error: Wrong Type with MPEG-4 Audio File

Help! I am trying to import an MPEG-4 Audio File into Final Cut Express2 but I keep getting a 'File Error: Wrong Type' message. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem. I really need this song for my video. PQu

iTunes - check your iTunes preferences:
    Preferences > Importing -
    - select Import Using AIFF encoding
    - select Custom
    - select Sample Rate 48.000 kHz
    - select Sample Size 16 bit
    - select Channels stereo
Then import your MP4 into iTunes
Then control-click on the track name in iTunes, select Show Song File, which will open a Finder window from which you can copy your AIFF file to any location you want it.

  • Exported file plays poorly on Windows device

I created a video on FCPX 10.1.3 with a Mac 10.9.4 and exported it as a .mov file. The file was 4g. When I played it on my Mac it worked perfectly. When I played it on a ThinkPad laptop the audio was majorly delayed with the video.
I tried re-exporting as an H264 mov but the exported file shrunk to 400 mb and lost most of the footage.

  • How to sync audio with slides?

I am trying to sync a recorded conversation with keynote slides showing the conversation for the viewer to read along. How do I sync the two so the slides move in unison with the audio conversation?

    Hello Rebecca,
the easiest way would be to export the conversation to iTunes, so that it will be available in the Media Browser.
In Keynote open the Inspector window and in the document tab (the leftmost tab) click "Audio".
From the Media Browser select your background audio and drop it into the Soundtrack well.
    Set it to play once.
Now in Keynote go to the "Play"-menu and select "Record Slideshow"
Listen to your Soundtrack and advance the slides at the right moment. Your action will be recorded.
Then save your slideshow. Whenever you play it again the slides will be shown automatically as you recorded.

  • Upload to Sum Total LMS Playing Wrong Audio

I recently completed a course in Captivate 4 with audio narration and 1 video.  Everything worked great until I uploaded to Sum Total LMS.  When the course initially launched you hear the audio from the first slide and the audio from the video playing at the same time.  If you close the course and restart it, it plays fine.
I have removed the course from the LMS and reposted it twice and am still haveing the same issue, can anyone help me out?

It may be due to the way your video has been added inside the SWF in Flash.
Was the video created as a symbol, and therefore is not at the main timeline level?
If so, it might be that Captivate is playing the video and it's audio when as soon as it loads the file, instead of on the slide where the video is intended to play.
How many slides are there in this project and on  what slide is the video SWF?

  • Receiving an export file error: wrong type

I have created a movie several times in FCP and then exported the movie to QT without any problems. Now all of a sudden, I can't get the movie to export correctly. After the 2 hour export, I'll check on FCP to find that the program has shut down without an "Unexpected Shut Down" message. I check for the exported movie which I find in the saved folder. I click to open and verify the completed job, but find that I get an error instead : "Error: Wrong Type".
The last successful movie I created was September 14th, prior to the QT 7.5.5 upgrade. I thought it was the upgrade, as I found out that FCP does not do well with the new QT version, so I reverted to QT 7.5, but I am still experiencing the same problem with FCP quitting and the movie not being able to read.
What is going on? Can anyone help?

    Francois:
This is a crazy solution, but this happened to me last week and this solution enabled me to open my files again -- they were all greyed out and I thought I'd lost them. I took my drive in to an Apple Store Genius Bar without resolution and spend 2 hours online with ProApps (FCE/FCP) tech support, also with no resolution.
This fix is based on the fact that FCP when it is started, it automatically opens the project that was open when it was closed. First, in FCP save the current project (this can be any project -- I created a placeholder project -- to a dummy name -- I used "save me". Close FCP and delete the dummy name ("save me") project. Now rename the project that is greyed out and provides the File Error: Wrong Type message that you would like to open to the dummy name, so that it's now called "save me". Now open FCP again. Now save the recuperated file using the original name.

    Here's what you do.

  • Rework exported file and what's with catalogs?

OK ... let's see if I can explain what I've done. I was working with a RAW file and then exported it as a jpeg of fairly low resolution. This file was worked on more than a month ago. Although I removed the folder within which the exported file was ... I copied that to an external hard disk. When I re-imported the original RAW file I was working on ... there is no history associated with it. I assume I have to reload the catalog that was created when I worked on the raw file the first time around ... is that correct? So, when I did ... there was still no history.
I have the low res jpeg file ... but I want the original RAW file as it was just before I exported it. How can I recover that? With the original raw file and the appropriate catalog?
I'd like to go into the history just before I exported the last time ... and export once more at higher resolution.
I hope this isn't too confusing!
Thanks much and I hope you can help.

If I 'remove' a folder from the left column in 'library' am I removing the record of these keystrokes?
Yes, if you remove a folder (and its photos) from Lightroom, you are deleting the history of edits that you made, and also deleting any metadata applied to the photo. As I said, you do NOT want to do this. Once you import a photo into Lightroom, you keep it imported in Lightroom; you do not delete it (or its folder) from Lightroom.
I have been doing this and keepking archival copies of images on an external hard drive. I have not wanted to clutter my computer.
Used properly, Lightroom does not clutter your computer.
And in the future, how can I retain these histories without actually having the RAW files on my computer ... I would rather have them archivally stored on an external hard drive?
Don't put the RAW photos on the internal drive in the first place. When you import from your camera, put the RAW photos on the external HD. Not only is this fewer steps, but it meets your goal of keeping the RAW photos on the external HD.
but I've got 6 months of edits that I'm getting the feeling are gone ... not to be recovered.
Yes, you definitely need to make backups of BOTH your catalog file and photos, to a different hard disk than where the original is stored.
If you double-click on the existing backup catalog files, you may find the edit history of your photos. In which case, you might need to reconnect the photos in this backup catalog via this method: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

  • Playing DVD-Audios with an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

I have a system built around an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard.  I'm using the motherboard's onboard sound, and I have it connected to a 5.1 speaker system.  Using WinDVD 6 Platinum, I can play regular DVDs just fine, with awesome surround sound.  However, when I try to play DVD-Audios, I only get stereo sound.  Anyone have any suggestions?

DVD video sound format AC3 5.1 and DVD-Audio sound format is not the same .
DVD-Audio disks has also a video AC3 5.1 track and stereo track , set yor sw player to use AC3 and see if it helps.

  • Quicktime .mpg files playing without audio

Recently i have been unable to play .mpg files through quicktime in both a browser (safari & Firefox) and movies of my harddisk directly in quicktime. All other video files including .mov .mp4 ect seem to work fine and now .mpg will not play with sound, however they will play in vlc, but i wish to play my videos in quicktime and a browser using quicktime.
I have tried reinstalling 7.0.4, installing 7.01 then back to 7.04 and 6.5.2. And i have had no such luck. I have purchased both mpeg-2 component and quicktime pro which also hasnt helped. I cant think why they have suddenly stopped working i have not changed any setting or downloaded anything that it should effect.
An example of a file that will not play with sound is:

After searching the internet for about 3 hours i have found the solution. Here it is:
    1. open up the program "Audio Midi Setup" located in your /Applications/Utilities folder.
    2. Click the tab that says Audio Devices.
    3. Now go to the Audio Output section on the bottom right part of the window.
    4. In the drop down boxt next to "Format" change the frequency (sampling rate) to 44100.0 Hz.
The problem seems to be, for some reason, upon installing QT 7 on some user's machines this value is getting set to something higher than what the computer can output, and therefore no sound is coming out.
I found the answer here: http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-40226.html

  • Exporting files from lightroom: problem with filename

    Hi!
I am a sports-photographer and i use lightroom since version 1.0. i really like it to edit my pictures and it is very easy to use for importing my files and setting the meta-datas.
but i have one problem, that forces me to open up each file i export once again to rename it, what costs a lot of time:
when i export my files, i can choose a preset to give it a name, which works well. but i would need it like this: "my preferences"001 (f.e. oliver-climbing-01oct09001) and raising in numbers.
lightroom ALWAYS makes a "-" between my presets and the numbers.
does anyone know if there is a possibilty to export the file and give it a name without this "-" in fornt of the number?
glad to find a solution here!
    cu or read u
    oliver

    hello!
    thanx for the fast answer!
u are right, but this is not my problem:
i want lightroom to count my exported pictures starting with 001, then 002, then 003 at the end and so on
but if i use the sequency-number or anything else, it does not generate a new name like 001, then 002,
but it does make 001 and then 001-2 and 001-2...
u can see that in the screenshot i made down here...

  • .MXF files plays wrong media.

When recording .MXF files in the field the camera automatically makes a second clip while recording if it goes too long. So a 10 minute shot will result in clip 28201 & 28202.
On the latest update of CC Premiere, the second clip# (in a single long record) now plays media from the first clip#.
    e.g.
Clip 28101 plays it's own media
Clip 28201 plays it's own media
Clip 28202 plays media from 28201 (the clip where the record started)
Clip 28301 plays it's own media
Clip 28401 plays it's own media

  • Movie plays wrong audio, EyeHome plays correct audio

I have a video that I ripped from a commercial DVD for use on my Eyehome. The MPEG2 file apparently has two audio tracks (for lack of a better term). When played in QT, I get the commentary audio, and when played via EyeHome (same file), I get the music soundtrack which is the correct one. Why? When I view properties, I see two line items and one is MUXED mpeg2. If I uncheck it, I get only a audio file window instead of a video file window.

retrieving an incorrect file from you cache isn't likely to cause that problem.  the opposite problem would be seen if a cached file were used:  a new sound should play but an old one plays in its place.
more likely is a faulty setup on your part.
