Exported file to iCloud, how do I find it back?

I have a sheet in Numbers which I exported as PDF. As destination I chose iCloud. I expected to find this PDF between my Numbers files in iCloud but it's not there.
I can find the PDF by using CMD-space. But what would be the regular way to find this file? I tried Finder but could not find an option to access iCloud.
Probably this is quite simple, but I can't figure it out at this moment :)
Any tips?

Yes, you can. You can even add a folder of your own there, to store any kind of document in iCloud, see this great User Tip by Winston Churchill: Using iCloud to sync multiple document types.
I dragged an alias to my "˜/Library/Mobile Documents" folder to the Finder's sidebar for easy access.

Apple keeps books for a short time (used to be 40 days. I've not seen a recent time frame)
What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it

If you set up find my iphone on the iphone itself and it is on and it has note been found and restored, then you may be able to locate it using icloud.
Otherwise you find it as you would find anything else: look for it

Photos in photo stream...
You can log into your iCloud account on another computer or device and enable photo stream to see your photos. You should do this as soon as possible because photo stream in the cloud only keeps photos for 30 days and each day you delay, you will lose another days photos.
Photos in the camera roll...
If you kept a back up of your device you can use it to restore to a replacement device, this will restore all of the photos in your camera roll and isn't time limited.

Please see the bold. If you're out of icloud storage, then you won't be able to backup to icloud unless you purchase more storage, but yet you said you backup to icloud.
If you really did backup to icloud no data would be loss - sounds to me that it didn't backup since you had no more free icloud storage space.
