Exported gif not playing symbols

Does anyone know why when i export a gif from flash the symbols dont play. I am making a basic gif button in flash for my website, is there anything I can do  to fix this?

Then you better ask in the Flash forum; this is the Flash Player forum.

  • Quicktime Export Does Not Play Music

I am having problems with the Quicktime export function of iPhoto not exporting the background music with the pictures. The old quick time files with the music in them seem to be playing fine in quicktime, so it isn't a quicktime issue. The music plays fine with the slide show, so I wonder why this problem.
Help is appreciated. I am using 5.0.4 version of iPhoto.

If anyone reads these posts and is experiencing these problems I think I have a solution! I spoke to Apple today and they are aware of the problema and are working on a solution. In the mean time they have a work-around and it works!! The problem centers on importing music that is not in MP3 format in some instances. So the easy explanation, or fix, is to reformat any troublesome music selections as MP3. The trick is how to do this if you are using iTunes. This is how I went about it:
First I had to set iTunes to become MP3 friendly. I learned to do this from a post in the iTunes discussions (thanks to Peter Miller!)
    1. open iTunes.
    2. select iTunes preferences.
    3. go to "Advanced".
    4. select "Importing".
    5. In the drop-down menu for "Import Using" select "MP3 Encoder"
    6. Select files in iTunes Library which are not MP3
    7. In the "Advanced" menu select "Convert selection to MP3"
Steps #6 and #7 were not adequate to convert my clips to MP3, however, so I had to take a couple of additional steps.
    1. Create a folder on the desktop - I labeled mine "Slideshow Music"
    2. Drage your music from iTunes to your new folder. You'll have to trash the original copies eventually, but I'd wait until you're sure the conversion to MP3 works to do so.
    3. Use a utility to convert the files to MP3. I used one called iLoveMP3 that I found on the internet. It worked perfectly. I also found a commercial program called Sound Grinder but didn't try it.
    4. Once you convert your music to MP3, discard the copies in your "Slideshow Music" folder that are not MP3.
    5. Discard the copies of your music in iTunes before re-importing your MP3 copies of the same music.
    6. FINALLY! Drag your new MP3 copies of your music in to iTunes. They are now copied as MP3 and will work in your slideshow!
I know it is a lot of work, but if you keep the iTunes settings as they are now, and all NEW music is imported as MP3, I think future music usage in slideshows should be a little easier.

  • Quicktime X exports do not play correctly in Firefox

Get a movie and export it to 'save for web' option 'Computer. Quicktime X will make a folder on your destkop or movie folder. Now open the index file with firefox. click on the movie to play it.
    BROKEN
On the other end if you drag the movie to the screen it will play in firefox with the quicktim 7 interface...huh?

Here is my two cents on this subject.
    1) If you follow the direction here (http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/embediphone_friendly_videos_on_yourwebsite.html) at this website using Quicktime 7 it works just fine after you make the necessary changes to the html(i.e. the correct path to your movie/poster image). But if you follow what is essentially the same steps with Quicktime X (where Export for web is now called saved for web instead) I dont get it to work. One major difference is the code that is generated. The scrip that goes in the <head> section if slightly different as they seem to use different java.
    see below
    <head> script with Quick7
    <script src="http://www.apple.com/library/quicktime/scripts/ac_quicktime.js" language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"></script>

    <head> script with Quick X

    <link href="http://www.apple.com/library/quicktime/2.0/stylesheets/qtp_poster.css" rel="StyleSheet" type="text/css" />
The other major difference is the <body> code that is generated between the two versions. See below
    Quick7
    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    QTWritePosterXHTML('Click to Play', 'Amusing-poster.jpg',
    'Amusing.mov',
    '455', '357', '',

    Quick X
Now I'm more of designer than a coder, but even I see the huge difference between the two. With Quick X the body code is way less and is a link.
This would be cool if it worked perfectly, as less code is good with me, but it doesn't. It wont play in Firefox. It works for the most browsers, especially safari.
When I tried to get to work in Firefox locally on my Mac, I was able to make it play after correcting the html, but it would open in a new page and center the movie all by itself. Not exactly the results I wanted.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem.
The new interface with Quick7 looks slick and I would like to use it,but not if its going to be this broken.

  • Exported movie not playing properly

I have exported a sequence from FCE "as a Quicktime Movie" and put it onto a DVD using iDVD. However, when I try to play the DVD in my DVD player connected to my t.v., it plays, but not properly. It pauses every few seconds, as if the disk or the player were dirty.

    Hi
    1 - 16 makes iDVD 6 to try x16 = Lot's of burn errors
I only use QuickTime movie - NO Selfcontained, No QT-conversion
I NEVER put .avi or .wmv or anything else than streamingDV (QT.mov) into iDVD
    I use QuickTime version 7.4.5
*iDVD Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows:*
    • Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
    • Hard disk is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
    • Delete iDVD pref file - *or rather start a new user/account* - log into this and re-try
    • Program miss-match: iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard
    • Program miss-match: iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
    • Program miss-match: iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.4.1 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
    • iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try
    • Try a Cleaning CD/DVD that cleans the laser lens on the DVD burner/player iDVD 6.0.4 and iDVD 7.0.1 are compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
    iDVD pref file resides:
    Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences
    and is named: com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
    Now restart iDVD.
Last resort: from Craig: Solved the problem!! Finally!! I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive, emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize option and I am up and running.

  • Photoshop-saved GIFs not playing on iOS

    Hi,
I have spent quite some time looking for a solution to my extremely infuriating issue with GIF and Photoshop, and I really hope someone might help me with it on this forum.
For example right now I have a file of 27 frames that is of course looped on 'forever'.
When in the 'Save for Web' settings window I apply them really humbly:
    image size 1000x667px
    4 colours
'interlace', 'transparency' and 'convert to sRGB' are unticked
    no dithering, matte: none.
MacOS preview option (space), Preview app and the browsers like Chrome and Safari (cannot say about the rest) allow the file to be playing forever, although sometimes I have to reload the page in Safari to make it work.
What really bothers me in this situation is that absolutely all  the GIF animations I'm trying to create with my Photoshop software are never playing on iOS and Android devices no matter if I revise the settings, like for instance decreasing image size to 100px67px.
I tried to perform the same operation on both home and work machines. Different licenses, both macs.
I remember three-four years ago, I could easily create GIF files that worked on all platforms including iOS. I used Photoshop CS6.
Looking forward for someone to help me with it!
    Thanks

  • FCPX .mov exports do not play in OSX 10.9.5

After upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.5 from .4 on my iMac yesterday, .mov clips exported from FCPX 10.1.3 no longer open in Quicktime Player 10 or 7 Pro. I still have 10.9.4 still on my MacPro Pro which does not have this problem. Anybody else experiencing the same issue after updating to 10.9.5?

I found it is happening to all clips that previously were opening automatically into QTP 10, .mov, .m4v. They do still play back in VLC and iTunes. In the meantime, I  found that I can no longer open anything into and from within both, QTP 10 and QTP 7 Pro as both apps become unresponsive as thy open. The last time I used both was before i updated the OS to 10.9.5.

  • Aperture exports are not playing well with my TV display

I use a USB drive in a television to display photos.  When I export versions from Aperture 3.4.5 to the USB drive, everything looks normal on my computer, but when I put the drive in the TV, I have duplicates of every image, one of which cannot be read (eg. DSC1111 would also have a file _.DSC1111, which is unreadable.)
I have tried exporting smaller images, I have tried exporting to a file on my computer, then copying the file to the USB drive.  No matter what I do, I get that extra file, which I cannot see on my mac running 10.7.5, or on a PC, for that matter, yet they show up on the USB when it is placed in the TV.  Oh, and I've tried this with Aperture 3.4.5 on my Macbook Air which is running 10.8, and the same problem occurs.
Now, I have exported fulll sized JPEGS in the past from previous versions of Aperture in this manner, with the same TV, with no issues.  This problem appeared with the previous version of Aperture (3.4.whatever, so I upgraded to 3.4.5, but the problem persists.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and what I can do to solve this issue?
    Thanks!

ok - i found my solution, but why are the simplest things
    sometimes the most frustrating????
...turns out that after downloading the latest version of
flash player for the computers that had trouble displaying with IE7
    - i failed to turn off my computer and restart... once i did this
IE7 displayed my pages properly - i was mistaken thinking that all
i had to do was shut down/restart IE7 only....

  • Importing .GIF into Fc will not play the animated gif in output

I imported a animated .gif  (attached video.gif) into Fc (of a sequence of pics I took saved as an animated .gif)
It inported as a "bitmap image" and upon export to swf it did NOT show the .gif as an animated .gif but just shows the first frame..
(It did not put this file into an assests folder...)
So I converted the "bitmap image" into an optimaized graphic...and NOW it DOES put the original animated gif into the "assets" folder with a Graphic1.fxg and video.gif in that folder.. and If I open the gif in the assest folder it plays it as the animated .gif it is..
BUT SADLY upon export to SWF it still DOES not play the gif as an animated gif.. just the first frame...
Can I do anything in the code to tell the swf file that is exported to play the gif in the assest folder as an animated gif not just show the frame?
I did the animated gif approach becasue I setup a photoshop cs4 file with a quicktime video as a layer and Fc only brought in the first frame of the quicktime layer..
Could the next beta of Fc include the ability to import and play animated gifs as artwork as well AND/or to import Ps Cs4 video layers as videos
So I would have to created a video page in flash pro and import that as a object? into a state?
(no experience with flash pro but just bought cs4 and will try to learn FlashPro overweekend)

Interesting. I don't think this is somethign you can do in Flash Catalyst. We have .GIF support in the Flash Player but I don't think you can use a GIF asset inside Catalyst. If you need that GIF to play you'll have to embed it using Flash Builder.
But Flash Catalyst will support video version 1.0. I don't think you can turn arbitrary layers into "video" layers but you can bring in video files (like .FLV) and then attach components to behaviors (like play, stop, etc).

Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

  • Keynote 6.0 Video not playing (export to Quicktime)

I have a presentation with a few embeded videos.  No matter what I do, they videos will not play when exporting the presentation to Quicktime.  The same presentation in Keynote '09, export to Quicktime works without issue.  Has anyone had similar issues?

Here's what I found ... I had to install Quicktime 7 and use iwork 09' (using them in mavericks) ... Using those two and opening projects in those two, works the way it should be.
There's an issue with the NEW Quicktime ... Even if you open and older .mov, it still won't let you control your keynote prsentation.
If you want to control your keynote presentation ( like the way it was), then search Quicktime 7 and use iwork 09'.
Here's what I don't understand ... Being able to convert any keynote presentation to a .mov is a major deal for videos. When they release the new stuff, doesn't anybody actually look at it first? ... Ya' know, to see if it actually works before releasing it? I get that a few things can slip by, but c'mon, major funtions ???
ALSO ........ When exporting the new keynote ( version 6). You can't export to a .mov ... It says quicktime, but it saves to a mv4.
I can see adding value, but stop taking away value !!!!!!!!!

  • Mp4 file does not play when exported to swf?

I am putting together an interactive flash file that I have created in inDesign (CS4).
I have had no problems creating and exporting links, buttons etc, but when it comes to embedding video I am experiencing trouble..I have a video which I have converted to mp4 H.264 format, and there appears to be no problems when uploading but when I export, the video does not play, and there is just a black box in its place with no controls. I have tried converting the file into various other formats, all with no luck. I hope you can tell me where the problem lies!
    Thank you

Support for placed videos in exported SWF was introduced in InDesign CS5 so it does not suppose to work with CS4...

  • Imported .mov file does not play in Flash export

I have imported a .mov file as a background for a flash banner I want to put on my website. The exported flash file plays all of the text animations, but the .mov background does not work -- it's just frozen on the first frame. I have read similar problems with QT exports, but I haven't found any similar flash problems. Thanks for any help.

I think it might be necessary to look at the Inspector in QuickTime. Open the .mov file in QuickTime and go to Window > Show Movie Inspector:
In the info window that comes up, under the Format: field you want to look at the second row where it tells you the audio track format:
In this example, this particular clip is in a really odd format. It is MPEG Layer 2 (no Layer 3 which is MP3 format) at 32Khz, Mono. Preferably for anything in iMovie or iDVD you would prefer the Inspector to look like this:
Linear PCM, 16bit (etc) 2 channels, 48kHz. This can be accomplished by downloading and installing MPEG Streamclip. Open the program and drag the .mov clip into the applicationw window (with five dots in it). Then under the File Menu choose Export to QuickTime:
Then go to the Compression pull-down menu and choose Apple Intermediat Codec (AIC):
Then under the Audio section, leave the audio pulldown to uncompressed but do set the sample rate to 48kHz instead of Auto:

  • Audio not playing in FLV export

I created a video with seperate narration place in it.  when i export the file to an FLV, not changing any of the settings for the widescreen ntsc preset.  the exported file does not play the audio.

Which player is set as the default for FLV file types?
I have seen similar issues with VLC Player (normally a great software player), but when played in Adobe Flash, or MediaPlayer Classic HC, they played just fine. That is why I was asking about the player program used.
Also, when you run one of the FLV's through MediaInfo, what are the details of the Audio Stream?
    Good luck,

  • HT4718 After burning a slideshow from iPhoto export to a DVD, it will not play on my DVD player OS X 10.9.4

iMac 27' OS X 10.9.4 I burned a slideshow from iPhoto export to a DVD and now it will not play back on anything. The player said Unknown disc. What can i do?

I do find that using one of these programs will reduce the sharpness of the photos.
Granted, I've never used iPhoto - I use Photo to Movie for slideshows and various versions of iMovie for videos, but my pics are excellent quality and my videos are shot in 1080p (better camera)  or 720p (small camera) and the results are superb on my TV using both iDVD and Toast. However, I do not encode in iDVD, I simply use it to add a theme and menus. The encoding is done by Photo to Movie, or iMovie 06 HD (the only version ever to process losslessly) and either/both are imported into iDVD as a complete .mov, or Toast.
Since using those methods, I've never had a problem with the sharpness or crispness of my footage. My eyes cannot discern a difference between my "production" and true HD (unless of course I shook the camera while shooting, LOL).
