Exported Images turn RED

My Equipment:
Nikon D300s
            Color space:  Adobe 1998
            Picture Control Setting:  Neutral
            NEF files
Mac Computer
PPC and Intel based processors (problem does not change with computer)
Monitor NEC PA241W wide gamut monitor, calibrated with Spectraview
WD External Hardrive stores all my files
Software
            Lightroom 2 and 3
            Capture One
            Photoshop CS 4
Canon iPF6300
            Up to date print drivers
Canson paper with icc profiles for printer
Problem:  Images Export with Heavy Red Tone
All images appear correct in all software applications.  Upon export to the printer, the images appear with heavy red toning in printer preview window.  This also happens exporting to file.  Image correct appearance in file, then lab produces a heavy red print.
This is the original image from Lightroom 3, zero edit, camera calibration Camera D2X Mode 2 for better Nikon RAW processing.
As far as I can tell, I have calibrated every portion of my system.  I have selected the most current printer drivers and icc profiles.  However, no matter what I do, this is what I get...
Exporting for print:  Canon Printer Preview window opens.  This is what the image will look like upon printing.
Shockingly RED!!
This same result happens out of any software program – LR, CS4, Capture One
Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.  Very frustrated at seeing red.

Ok a few more discoveries....I found last night a possible solution.
In continuing research, I found a link on Canon Digital Photography site regarding printing red images.  It seems that Canon has traditionally had this problem on new printers.  As my iPF 6300 is the new version from the iPF 6100, I thought I would try the correction suggested and so far it seems to work a treat.
The solution:  Uncheck the print preview button!
After selecting print from LR, the Print window automatically opens.  Select the Main window.  At the bottom there is a check box for Print Preview.  Deselect this!
This still not giving me a perfect match to my LR image, however it is very agreeable.
In regards to the lab printing.  My best results have been in giving the lab sRGB files.   I have only had one lab error with red printing and I gave Profoto RGB space.
Kelly, I'm wondering about your import as DNG...why not NEF?  When I import my files as a NEF I can choose a better RAW converter in LR.  This is under the Develop Module at the very bottom, Camera Calibration.  LR automatically sets the file under Adobe Standard which does not render the same image as the JPEG on the back of my camera.  The skin tones are more harsh and have a redder tone.  LR has created additional calibration selections for better RAW processing.  For skin tones I would recommend using one of the Nikon options...These are listed as Camera D2X Mode 1/2/3.  I like the mode 1 or 2 the best as I do portrait work.
Any further thoughts on this Print Preview check selection are greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Why are my photos turning red when put in a slideshow?

Can you start a new document and then load one of the duotones known to be good in the working file and have it correct? If so, try one of the duotones known to be bad in the working document in the new file. Does it work?
If no to either suggestion, can you share one of the images known to be good and one known to be bad? ZIP 'em up and upload to dropbox and plop a link here. Or, to keep the file sizes down, you can quickly make a new set and provide those.
As well, the ID version and OS info would probably be helpful.

  • Image turns red when trying to add text?

    I'm using CS5 64 bit on a Win7 64-bit machine, with 8GB RAM.
I have been creating images, then adding text to them, with no problem. All of a sudden, something is going wrong.
I have created an image out of a white background with green text. I saved it as a .psd
Later, I opened it in CS5, and clicked the Text tool. I put the cursor on the image, and the whole image box turned red.
All the options under Layer (like New or Duplicate) are grayed out.
The Layers box shows just one layer, named Index. Right clicking on that shows all grayed out options.
I also tried to add text to a previously saved .jpg with the same result.
If I make a new image, I can add text correctly.
And I can also add text to other .jpgs I've made previously.
So apparently it is something to do with the way these particular files were saved or something?
I tried resetting the Text tool but that did no good.
What am I doing wrong? What makes these images different?
I tried to upload the .psd image in question, but I got an error message saying that "the content type of this image is not allowed".
    Thanks!

  • Color in LR4 shifts yellow-green and exports images shifted red

What could be the factor here?

No monitor profile or a bad monitor profile, and the viewer you’re using to look at the images isn’t color-managed or only halfway color-managed?
Can you provide a side-by-side screenshot that shows LR-Develop and the exported image to see how far they are off?
What viewer are you using the judge the exported images?

  • The field around my document turned red from gray, How to I change it back?

The screen around my image turned red. How do I change it back to dark gray?

I always think of Canvas as the image area, but if you right click and choose Custom the resulting dialog is named Custom Canvas Color so I guess that's what it is called.
BTW  I usually hesitate to take short, lacking in detail, questions fully at face value, so as well as custom canvas colour, I also wondered if the OP has a selection active, and has turned on Quick Mask.  The default for QM is, after all, to have the unselected pixels highlighted, and in 50% red.

  • Images in my fla. have turned red

hi - i've just opened my fla file and most of the images have turned red. Any ideas?
    Cheers

Yes, Ned is correct. The original link to the image has been deleted.
@ Stubbed Toe, which version of Flash were you running? Did you rename the image, move folder with image inside, or rename folder?

  • Reds in my images turn orange only in Lightroom, PS CS3, and Bridge

Hello everyone, I have yet another issue that has to do with my earlier post 2 days ago...
For some reason, all of my images that contain the color red turn orange when they are opened in Lightroom 1.4, Photoshop CS3 10.1, or Bridge 2xxx.
But my images with red look red on my desktop, it's just when I open them in the three products listed above- they turn orange.
Any image that I have shot also loses its red color in the Finder view of my MacPro OSX 10.5.8.
The images are red on the camera display after I shoot them, but when they get into my Adobe products or the Finder view of my MacPro, the reds turn orange.
I shoot with Canon DSLR's and I am a professional photographer.
I'm not sure what to do, I have work that needs to go to clients, but I don't think these orange reds are going to go over well.
Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks everyone

I just did a monitor calibration with my i1display2 from gretagmacbeth.
How do I find that out, where, what to do?
Reds on websites, icons, and things look fine on my Apple Cinema HD 30" screen, it's just camera files that reds turn into orange

  • Graphics turning Red or Black after a while for no apparent reason?

For some reason every time I import graphics to the library they are fine. But when I put them on the stage (there's about 30 of them in each of different keyframes) they seem to be replaced by black or red rectangles. In the library, they are fine, and when I export them as a .MOV they are sometimes fine. If I export them as an .AVI, however, they remain red and black. It's not all of the graphics, but the longer that I am in Flash, the more of them turn red.
I can't tell if it's one corrupt file or a corrupt installation, but it's been on three computers: a terrible laptop with Windows 7, a Mac, and a modern desktop with Windows 8.
Can anyone fill me in on what might be the cause or possible solutions? (or ways to diagnose it?)

My best guess is that you're somehow bumping up against a size limit like this Size limits | SWF, bitmap files | Flash Player 10. I know you're not using the Flash Player, but it's possible that since that limit is known there are limitations in the IDE that are related to it. Have you tried splitting your images into smaller pieces and combining several in the same Graphic symbol?

  • Why can I no longer export images in Numbers to Excel?

    Numbers 3.2.2
    MacBook Air 1.3GHz i5; Memory 4Gb 1600MHz DDR3
    OS X updated 24 September 2014
In previous versions I have been able to export images within the Numbers file to and  Excel file.  I was able to do this up to three weeks ago!
Now when I export to Excel the Images are being removed.  This is extremely inconvenient as I use this product to generate reports to my executives across Asia and this is no longer possible with this product.  Every other member uses Excel for this report and I am not on the outside, unable to participate fully in the conversations or modifications to critical performance reports!
Would you please advise how I can now continue to use Numbers to:
         a.  Generate this report type
         b.  Review reports provided to me
         c.  Update and return reports provided for review and contributions?
    Thank you
    Dean Turner OAM

    Dean,
    1) I suggest if your job depends on a particular tool you that tool.  My suggestion is to purchase Excel and use the same tool as everyone else.  For times then you need not share with other use Excel.
    2)  I dropped an image in a Numbers file then exported to excel using the menu item "File > Export To > Excel..." then opened the file in LibreOffice (a free office clone).  That worked fine.  So I cannot confirm your reported problem.  Can you share what version of Numbers you are using?  Have you tried restarting your computer? What about have your tried a simple test where you create a new document, then drop a picture into that file and then export to excel?  Maybe the document you are using is corrupt.

  • Scanned b/w photos turning red in iphoto

I scanned in some old b/w photos into iphoto. They appear to be fine, but if I make any changes to them, such as cropping them, the photo turns red. How can I stop this? Thanks

IPhoto does not support gray scale. You must use RGB (sRGB) is recommended
Rescan with a color profile or export and change to sRGB and import

  • Exporting images with subfolders by album name

    Hello,
I have a project with approx 800 images, organized in 12 different albums. Now I want to export all the images in a folder, which should contains 12 subfolders named with the original album names.
For example, I have a project named "friends" which contains 12 albums named "Emma", "Laura", "Tom", etc... A want to export in order to have this subfolders:
    Friends/Emma
    Friends/Laura
    Friends/Tom
I tried the export-versions option "subfolder format", but I'm not able to do that.
    Who can help me?
    Thank you,
    Paolo

    One last idea
you could color label the pics.
For example all images of Emma in the album "Emma" get a red label, all images of Laura get a blue label, ....
There a seven colors available like in Finder. This perfectly matches with your needs^^ Seven persons get a different color each, one person gets no color. So you have 8 criterias. Lucky you, not having nine people :P
Click on your project with all 800 pics and their different color labels, select all and export them.
Aperture now will give each exported image the same color label as it has in Aperture. After export has finished you can easily put the images in a corresponding folder based on the color label...
    Have fun

  • Imported SWF background turns red (CP4)

    Hey, guys.
I'm working on an e-learning project which requires me to embed an interactive swf file in my Captivate project.
It all works out fine except that the background of the swf turns red. I have tried a few things with the embedded swf in my attempts to make it work.
    1. I placed a white box below all other elements. It did not work.
    2. Turned the box into a movie clip. It did not work.
    3. I noticed that the embedded image elements kept their backgrounds so I made a white png image and place it below all other elements. No change.
Please see the attached image. If anyone have any idea of what may cause this and how to solve the problem, please share!

    Hi there
Does it begin by displaying some red blocks, then continue until the whole screen turns red and it remains that way? If so, you are likely seeing memory exhausted. Otherwise known as the "Red Screen Of Death". If that's the case, I'm guessing there is a lot of Full Motion Video clips?

  • Exported images are pixelated

I am having trouble with ALL of my exported images.  The only one I can say that have come out better have been a high quality print PDF.  JPG, GIF, EPS - all have turned out to be pixelated.  I know what I am doing and this has never happened to me before.  I asked in two other forums and the people acted like I was stupid!  I have been working with these programs for years!  I just may not be wording my problem correctly, so bare with me.
I created a logo in illustrator and it looks great on the screen, but when I export it as say a JPG and bring it back in to illustator it looks horribly pixelated.  I am exporting at the highest level possible.  Is there another setting that would cause it to be pixelated?
I have tried so many different things now I am not sure what else to do.  Could this be cause by a lacking update?  A bad set of fonts with a virus, maybe? I don't know anymore - any help will be GREATLY appreciated!
This all just started I was working on it just fine a couple of days ago with no problems and now everything has been different.

vividdesigngirl, I apologize if my message has offended you in any way. That was not my intention and I really wanted to help you, I was pretty much sure and still believe that what I said is the only ways to get the results you reported not because I'm judging you or anything like that but because I don't know how else one can get the results you reported. Also if it is not obvious English is not my native language and I may have failed in using it properly. Again apologies for anything that sounded offending.
If you are still interested in my contribution to solving your problem, I would say that I don't understand well what you have done to the exported image as described in the first paragraph of you last reply. Using File > Export to JPG doesn't recognize artboards - they are ignored. The image is clipped by the bounding box of the objects. So if the bounding box of your book is 8x5 inches, regardless of the size of the artboard, and if you export with High selected for Depth, you will get 2400x1500 pixels for the book and not 576 by 360 pixels as you originally reported. If what you are saying is that your book image is in fact 2400x1500 pixels without any margins around and it still looks pixelated, this is entirely different problem than the one you initially reported by saying it is 576 by 360, and to solve it you have to provide additional information in that regard.
    edit: Oh, wait
    vividdesigngirl wrote:
...I accidently thought the question was how big my artboard was in pixels not my exported image. ...
you mean you artboard is 576 by 360 as measured on the rulers in Illustrator? And thus your book which fits in it? OK, I get it. The pixels unints on the ruler and in the transform controls are used only for the default size if you use Save for Web and Devices but as I said, you can change them in the Image tab.
If the exported image is in fact 2400x1500 pixels you should not see any pixelation. How are you bringing this image back to Illustrator. What happens if you right click on the file and choose open with Illustrator? Is it still pixelated?
    edit 2:
if this happens with every image, can you please, create a simple document with a few simple round or skewed objects that show the pixelation, export as you usually do and share the illustrator and the exported jpg files by providing a link This is the best way to find the problem.

  • Why do images turn 1/2 Yellow in Library?

As I was going thru images in a folder some of the them turned 1/2 or more of the image a solid yellow at random. When I clicked on them to view the image there was no image in the yellow part, just a solid yellow - If I enlarged the image that part turned red. Any ideas??. New computer, new drives.
    Thanks -Bob

I recently had an image in Library go bright orange! Nothing had been done to the nef in LR. It turned out to be a corrupt xmp file. I deleted that and the image returned to normal.
    Worth trying

  • Error exporting images from Lightroom

I have LR v1.3.1, for Windows on Dell PC with Intel Core 2 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM.
I am having problems exporting images I did some minor editing on in LR. Editing included cropping to 8x10 aspect ratio, some tone adjustments, and a few red eye reduction. I then attempted to export 112 images as JPG and I received an error that 77 failed to export. I attempted to re-export those 77 and they all failed. Then I attempted to export 51 different images and 38 failed to export. There is no explanation of what the error is. LR help doesn't shed any light on this. The Adobe knowledgebase doesn't have any similar errors.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I am having the same problem with a Dell PC, Windows Vista, Intel Duo Core 2.4 and 4GB RAM. I am using LR v 1.3.1 as well. I tried to export 156 images to a SD card in a reader, and only 127 exported. There is no explanation why the others did not export, so I don't know how to fix it.
    Please help!
    Neil
