Exported jpegs can't be copied/pasted

Hi,
I'm working on CS6, OSX, I exported a logo to jpeg form Illustrator, when I open it on the default image preview app and try to copy (cmd+V) it won't let me, the copy option under edit isn't gereyed out but when I use it or press cmd+v a sound tells me the action can't be completed and it obviously doesn't copy to th clipboard, When saving it from the "save for web" option it works properly and I can copy and paste without problems, all of this also happens if I do it in Photoshop, this has never happened to me until now, anyone knows whats going on. I'd really appreciate your help

Color profiles, metadata or some such thing. There is a known issue where Preview will not work with images when they contain such data, but not always. Depends on which kinds of information are stored.

Help! Why can I not copy paste anymore in Dreamweaver CC? It was working fine a week ago, did not install or delete anything in this time, the options from the pull down menu are ghosted, ctrl+c ctrl+v doesnt work. I could use paste special from the pull down menu and did. Paste special worked once, now is ghosted too.

Try renaming the Configuration folder to Configuration-backup.

I can no longer copy/paste artwork after v10.5.1

The bulk of my library are teaching cd's from the same author. For most iTunes cannot find any info so I have been able to copy/paste the album artwork. Suddenly in v 10.5.1 I can no longer copy artwork.

I have discovered a work around.
Select an album that does have artwork you want to copy.
Drill down to the track level and select a track.
File > Get Info and select the 'Artwork' tab.
Select the artwork and Command-c to copy.
Now back to the iTunes grid display and select an album and right-click in the artwork viewer and paste.

OK, then try booting into safe mode. If the problem still persists then something is badly corrupted. I would suggest doing the following:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

Why can't I copy/paste tables correctly? (CS6)

Sorry for having to ask such a basic question. I am new to ID.
I am following this tutorial:

At 25:10, he creates a 2x16 table into which he pastes a table from iWork Pages. He does this by:
- Selecting the entire table in Pages
- Selecting every cell in the blank ID table
- Copying the Pages table and hitting paste in ID
The Pages table is mapped, cell for cell, to the ID table.
However, when I try this method, only the lefthand side of the ID table is populated. Every Pages cell ends up in the left hand column (the number of rows increases to accommodate them) and the right hand side is left empty.
What am I doing wrong? Is this the standard way of copying/pasting tables? Is there a better method?

Arghh. As far as I can tell, I'm doing all that. It just won't paste properly.
Here's what I do:
Using type tool, I click on the destination frame.
I insert the 2x16 table.
I select all the cells in Pages and copy them.
Using type tool, I select all the cells in ID.
I hit paste.
The only thing I can think of it that ID is expecting the table in one format, and Pages is copying the table to the clipboard in another format.

Why can't I copy/paste album art in latest version of iTunes?

I have the latest version of iTunes and I am unable to copy/paste album art from the internet. Whenever I try to copy/paste album art from Amazon, it just displays a blank box. I was able to copy/paste album art just fine before the last iTunes update. Any suggestions?

Artwork seems to cut/paste in my situation, but does not "attach" to the file so the icons appear as generic in a list view or when viewing the file using "get info". Also noticed that cut and paste does not work for text in the comments window either, especially if the copied text contains style changes (underlines, etc.) or hyperlinks.
Also, if importing AIFF files into iTunes, the song that plays upon import (usually the highest numbered track) will not accept artwork no matter what, unless you convert to another file type (like AAC). The only workaround is to make a copy of the last song, rename it with a higher track number, then import both at the same time. Then just delete the higher numbered track. This has been an on again/off again problem for at least the last 3-4 versions of iTunes.

Can't cut copy paste; all grayed out?

I just download a movie from an archive site. I chose mpg-1 as the compression and sent it to my movies under applications. I opened it up and the file read .mov. I then opened it up to cut away un-needed parts by using the slider clips. When I got to edit, the cut, paste, copy, trim selection options are grayed out. I have QT Pro and am using QT 7.0.4 I'm a little new at this. What can I do other than opening it in imovie because that keeps the entire file in place. Any ideas?

I chose to download a mpg file. It reads as a .mov after download. Shouldn't QT work? Or is it not really a .mov file?<<</div>
It is downloaded as an mpeg file but when you used the browser plug-in you apparently chose "Save as Quicktime Movie." That puts a QT or .mov wrapper around the file. If you choose "Save as Source." the downloaded file should be saved exactly as the file was on the sending site.
Even though the file may have a .mov icon it is still an mpeg inside the QT wrapper. QT will not support the editing of the file or allow the export of sound to any new format. QT Mpeg Limitations

Why can't I copy, paste or save as text?

I use a Mac v. 10.6.7 and Adobe reader v. 9.4.4. In my job, I get sent a variety of documents in Adobe. Sometimes I can copy and paste text and sometimes I can't. What is the secret that will allow me to quickly and reliably copy and paste text from an Adobe document to a Word document? And I've tried saving Adobe documents as text and never, not once, has the document been saved as text. The new Adobe file always is just blank. Thank you for your help.

For the most part yes.
There are some idiosyncrasies with using OCR so unless you are creating the scans themselves and can control how they are being created, you may run across some that don't work easily.
I would suggest installing the trial version of Acrobat. It's good for 30 days and by then you should have a good idea whether it will work for your situation.

Can't use copy paste shortcuts

I'm new in Lion. Why I can't use the copy and paste short cut if I use it from and to different application, for example from safari to MacOffice Word, from Word to dictionary. However it work if I copied it using the Edit menu and then copy it at the other application by using the Edit menu again. Looking forward for the help

The shortcuts should do the same function as the edit menu.
Command C to copy
Command V to paste

Why Can't I Copy/Paste Into Dreamweaver CS6?

I am running Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 3 and I have Dreamweaver CS4 and CS6 installed.
When I work on sites in CS6 I find I'm having issues with copying and pasting. It doesn't matter where I try to pull the information from, it won't paste into Dreamweaver CS6 (code view or design view). It seems to work fine in CS4, as well as every other application I try to paste to.
I don't have CS4 and CS6 open simultaneously. I just kept CS4 because it had a bunch of info on other sites I need to transfer over, as well as testing CS6 before fully commiting to it.
Any insight or help would be appreciated.

I have this problem, too, and it's driving me f'n crazy, too!
While I'm happy other forum members are offering to help by asking diagnostic questions, why grill us over what we have installed and what we can and can't do? This is a problem shared by many users. Why is the burden of "proof' on our shoulders? No offense meant, Nancy and Murray, but are you going to be able to resolve this bug? Unless you work at Adobe, I doubt it! It's not something WE are doing.
I've been using Dreamweaver since version 1.0 in 1998 or so, and I've never had this problem. It seems like something that should be pretty basic to identify and fix. Shouldn't Adobe be on these forums asking what programs we have installed on our machines and what we can and can't do? What help is it if a fellow forum member asks these questions? Adobe is a major corporation that should be listening to our issues, especially if we're forking over $600 PER YEAR for Creative Cloud!
This problem needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed now. I can't work like this!

Can't cut, copy, paste, or trim a selection in Quicktime Pro(Win), why not?

Hi guys,
I have QT Pro Player version 7.6.4) Windows verson running on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with Windows XP.
I can select part of a video with the markers (I-In and O-Out) without any problem. But when I go to the edit menu to either copy, cut, or trim I can't because these are faded out. Why so? And does anybody know how to remedy this problem?

QuickTime Player can view MPEG-1 files but the Pro upgrade can't edit them and no audio can be exported from them.

Suddenly, I can no longer copy/paste from Adobe Digital Editions

I have been using ADE to read books that I am using for research for my thesis paper. I was going right along, copying and pasting relevant quotes from ADE into my word processor, it was great. Now, all of sudden, I no longer receive the option to copy and paste when highlighting text.
Any help? I have restarted the program and my computer to no avail. Is this a copy-right issue? Are they worried I'm just copying the entire text to put elsewhere online? Very frustrating.

Can't Drag/Copy/Paste Plugins In Mixer??

for some reason when i'm in the mixer and i try to command or option command grab an audio effect, it won't work. same goes for midi effects. however, it DOES work if i try to copy an es2 onto a different channel???? is there anywhere i can change the key command for this or something so i can see if that changes things?
has this happened to anyone else?
it won't even let me drag the audio effects to change the signal flow within the same channel, yet i can drag the software instrument wherever i want.
i even went back to check in logic 9 to see if it would work there and it does just fine.
this is a really bizarre bug and i'm wondering if i have something unchecked somewhere but i don't think i do.

When it switches to the silly power/mixer/arrow view, you have to click on the mixer to drag.
