Exported mp4 video "flashes" when viewing.

Hey everyone.
All my exported video flashes when you play it. I am sure it is something with exporting but I have tried several different settings and it keeps happening. Does anyone know why that would happen? It flashes really quickly like a strobe light. Any help is appreciated.

How can I keep the quality of an MP4 video high when I export an interactive PDF from InDesign?

I am making an Interactive PDF with embedded MP4 video using InDesign. When I view the video in the PDF it has degraded the quality and the colour contrast is poorly affected. I can have the video as a floating window but this gives a harsh black line around the video when it plays which is not acceptable.
Can anyone advise how to maintain the quality of the original video when it is embedded?

You can control the quality of the video (aspect ratio, pixel dimensions, frames/minute, etc.) by using the Adobe Media Encoder which comes with InDesign CS5 or later installations, including InDesign CC. InDesign only includes what you have placed and passes it on to the PDF file. There are no video quality controls in InDesign.
You cannot change the way Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader displays the MP4. If you don't like the way Acrobat/Reader handles display of a floating window, then you'll have to display it within the page. For more info, inquire in the Rich Media Acrobat forum.

Duplicate music videos playlist when viewing in shared

I have two Mac computers. I am trying to sync the two music libraries so they are same.
I open the iTunes application on each machine and it shows the other library in 'shared'.
In the playlists of the shared machine I see two called 'Music Videos'. When I go to the prime machine there is only one playlist called 'Music Videos'.
I see two 'Music Videos' on each machine under shared but there is only one on each of the original machines.
Where is the other playlist coming from when I view in shared connection?

Hi All,
After unchecking "Sync Music" and resyncing the device there are still some music and videos left over. If I click "Music" on the left under iPhone I have 41 items remaining, half videos half music.
I sync only certain playlist so all the music / Music videos I want will fit, was trying to remove it all and start fresh, but that is not working either.
On the phone when you click "playlist" there is the option for "Purchased" and it contains the 41 items, I deleted the playlist but the songs and music remain and don't see a way to delete items from phone directly.
Ideas?

Video halts when viewing video clips

Hello,
When viewing video clips, the video will halt, message says "buffering", then plays, then halts, "buffering" message again.. etc. It does continue to play (doesn't crash or anything like that) and does complete the video. I'd appreciate any advice or help...

You got it right. I'm telling you to live with it. This problem has no consequence with Lenovo or Microsoft. It's just problem of your bandwidth or video-server bandwidth. Saying "something else" I meant "something else". Which word is new for you? It doesn't matter whether something downloaded by you or downloaded automatically - it maters if ANYTHING (this word means "anything") is being downloaded (this one means "download from the Internet") at the very same time you're going to see your video online. It (something that is being downloaded) eats up your bandwidth and your favourite video is just caching slowly. If the problem occurs when you apparently do nothing with Internet but only watch video and it still caches for long , the problem is on server side and you can do nothing (exept calling them to server and yellign at them or biting them by phone).

Why do Captivate projects have video issues when viewed on an iPad?

I poste dthis question months ago, and didn't get much in the way of a response, so I am trying again...
I am publishing projects to be viewed on both PC and iPad (.swf and HTML5). The PC version works fine on a number of different browsers.
The iPad version does not play correctly. I have tried the default Safari browser, as well as Coast, Mercury, and Chrome.
Slides that are audio over screen captures do not play the audio.
Slides that are Video play and sound fine.
Slides that are audio dropped onto the slide play fine.
My Captivate is version 6.0.1.240.
My iPad is running iOS 7.1 (11D167)
Also, when in a project, and I try to "Edit Video Demo", Captivate locks up, and must be closed by the Windows Task Manager. IS THIS RELATED???
Any thoughts?

I am having the same issue with Captivate 8. I have created a project, imported mp4 movies, save output as HTML.
All works fine on a desktop or laptop.
But will not play videos through a browser on an IPAD. I understood that videos and captivate content rendered in HTML5 would play on an IPAD.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any help suggestion please?

32.0.2 won't display WebM/MP4 video even when playing audio

I just downloaded/installed Firefox today to test web design for a class. This is not an upgrade but a clean install of 32.0.2. I'm running Win7 32-bit (6.1SP1)
I can not see any video in Firefox, though the files' audio routinely plays just fine. I have tested with files generated by me, and test files from the following sites:

The player controls come up, a grey box for the video player area comes up with a play button in it, but when I push play, there is just blank/white space, and the audio. I have tested both with the VLC plugin (2.1.3.0) and without - it makes no difference. All videos play just fine for me using IE and Chrome.
Any suggestions on why I'm the only person I know who can't view these videos in FF?

You have a very old video card with very old drivers. It's so old in fact, that looks like Nvidia doesn't even have drivers available that are certified for your operating system.

Bad video quality when viewing full screen videos on youtube

whenever i play a video on youtube in HD. it looks pixelated. i do not have this problem when i watch HD videos on youtube on internet explorer.
i also do not have this problem when watching HD videos on other video sites in firefox. this problem only occurs when i watch youtube videos in HD on firefox. The flash settings will also show up pixelated when watching fullscreen videos on youtube in firefox. i also tried to enable hardware acceleration but it did not work.

I am having a pb similar to Capain Jeff but with internet explorer. On a website to watch news with video streaming, after the ads are displayed the flash player bugs and the browser stopps and the screen goes grey if i keep clicking.
I had he same green screen on youtube but fixed it thanks to the 1st post from cor-el.

Audio/video delay when viewing (ex: youtube)

whenever I try to view an online video for example on youtube or any online video lesson, there is a several second delay stammering through the whole thing. I dont have any updates needed.

The problem with your answer seems to indicate that it is normal for one to exit an entire app (in this case, Safari) just to exit viewing a YouTube clip. Then you would have to go back to Safari, go to your mail, then find where you were up to! It it not like Apple to design stuff this way; there must be another way!

A tool to export a video of DIAdem VIEW, playing a synchronized video, map, audio and data

It's very common you need to do a presentation with several information and if you can put a video playing a synchronized video, map, audio and data graphs, like DIAdem VIEW do, your presentation will be cause a excellent impression. To do this today you need a capture screen toll, If DIAdem have a native tool to do this it would be great.

Today I tested the screen capture software Camtasia Studio 8 and this works really good. The files can be saved as an AVI file and different qualities can be chosen, which gives some flexibility in the file size. The screen capture is working fast, so if I run with 1 Hz the VIEW layout with a map and several 2d graphs all the frames are captured.

Why does my exported mp4 file look so bad when it is viewed in adobe acrobat pdf file?

I have embedded an mp4 (exported from premier pro cs6) video file into adobe acrobat and its not sharp viewing of my video anymore. It was a sharp video when viewed in both premier and the exported mp4 files, but once embedded in acrobat it looses sharpness, anyone know what the problem might be? Could my settings in adobe acrobat be wrong? I would think the problem is in adobe acrobat since the exported mp4 video views crisp and clear before its embedded, any ideas to assure sharpness with my video after its embedded into the adobe acrobat pdf?
Hoping someone has an answer to this, I think my problem might lie within the adobe acrobat settings????
or maybe there is no way around and I need to expect this video not to look as crisp and clear after I embed it into acrobat.... as it is when viewing in premier pro, mp4, etc.????
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Someone Im sure is taking theri exported premier files and embedding them to create pdf files? Would love to hear if anyone has encountered this issue.

I just completed a test and comparison between the two PDF's,
compared the file as you suggested with the floating option and changing setting to actual size of the original premier pro / mp4 file size and
the old pdf that did not utilize the floating and file size option.
I do notice a slight difference. The PDF with the floating window with the match of the media clips original dimensions appears to be crisper.
I will be having the final pdf document set utilizing this method for the embeded mp4 movie and hope that the department doing this (next stage of this job) will agree that this is better to use your steps to embed all the video files into a pdf.

No sound in browser when viewing flash applications

Hey people, I hope someone can help me...
I have no sound on anything related to flash when viewing
pages online. Flash games or movies (for example) play the video
just fine, but no sound. This has been happening for a few days and
I can't recall anything I did to trigger this.
I am running windows xp home edition, sound card drivers are
all updated, no viruses or spyware, and I have uninstalled and
reinstalled flash player, shockwave player and quicktime a few
times to no avail.
Seems I have done everything in my power to find out what is
wrong, and nothing seems to work. All of my volume control settings
are unmuted and turned up full...
Help?

Widescreen DVD distorted when viewed 16:9 or letterbox

Burned a DVD from widescreen HD QT movie (exported from FCE). When viewed on HDTV in 16:9 or Letterbox modes, the image is flattened, like a 4:3 image stretched to fit a 16:9 frame. Setting 4:3 mode on the TV restores the correct proportions but both sides of the frame are cut off. It looks fine when viewed in iDVD on the Mac ('Widescreen Preview' is displayed at the corner of the window and the movie shows in letterbox format). What settings are needed in QT Pro or in iDVD to produce a correctly proportioned widescreen image?

HOW TO MAINTAIN 16:9 ASPECT FROM IMPORT TO BURN
This is the way I do it. There is no compulsion on you to do it my way, but this works (for me). I started this method before iMovie and iDVD were upgraded to 6.0.3, and because not all elements of the various iDVD themes (particularly the pre-iDVD 6 ones) are consistent in keeping to 16:9 throughout the process.
The widescreen preview works just fine when you check your finished project within iDVD. The problem only happens when you either burn a project or save it to an image.
A bug in iDVD 6, particularly when working with PAL, and which has been reported to Apple, is that the sub-menus in many of the themes (the chapter settings) default to 4:3 aspect, NTSC and mpeg 1, instead of the desired 16:9 in mpeg 2 in PAL. This may be partly a leftover from iDVD 5 or even a newer ‘feature’ of iDVD 6. Either way, it is annoying when it happens, and we must hope Apple cure it in iDVD 7. In the meantime here is my failsafe workaround, which sounds a lot more complicated when reading about it, that it is in practise.
Living in the UK, I use PAL (25 fps). Wherever you see a reference to PAL (25 fps) in the following you may substitute NTSC (30 fps) in the various settings mentioned (if you don’t live in Europe), the basic idea is the same. I still use this method, and take these steps, regardless of whether it is always necessary. Worst case scenario: it would have worked anyway. Best case scenario: it works perfectly where it otherwise wouldn’t!
The object of the exercise is therefore to ‘fix’ all constituent parts of the project (video, titles, theme, effects, even audio!) in the desired 16:9 aspect to avoid producing a DVD where the movie is in 16:9 and the menu is in 4:3 or where other irritating surprises lurk in your project, which you only discover after burning a coaster!
First go to http://www.mydvdedit.com/index.php?lang=english and download myDVDedit. This is shareware although the download is free. Send the guy a few dollars/euros, he deserves it. While you are there, read all about it. Now install it in your Applications Folder. You will need it later.
You have finished your iMovie project with music, transitions and so on, and saved it to you Movies Folder. Before you started the project you naturally set it to DV Widescreen.
Open iDVD. Give the project a name, and save it as Widescreen if it didn’t default to the same aspect as your iMovie project. Now import the iMovie project into iDVD, choose a theme (any theme you like, even if it prefers to stay at 4:3) and save the project. Do what you would normally do to the theme and its drop zones. Save the project.
Now save as Disk Image on your desktop. Leave it there for the moment when it has finished/appeared.
Open your Movies Folder. Create a new folder. Name it PROJECTNAME – TS FILES (where ‘projectname’ is the name of your project!). Close the folder. You can of course call it anything you like, but this aids identification.
Now double-click the disk image on your desktop. It contains two folders: AUDIO_TS (which is empty, but please pretend that it isn’t) and VIDEO_TS. Drag and drop these to the folder you created in your Movies Folder. (This takes a moment).
Click on the AUDIO_TS folder and go to Get Info in the file menu. Right down the bottom is where you have to change the permissions. Under ‘Ownership & Permissions’ change this from Read Only to Read & Write. Click the small triangle next to Details, scroll down and click on ‘Apply to enclosed items’. You will be asked for your root password. Close the get info window, and now click on the VIDEO_TS folder and do the same. Close the Projectname-TS Files folder. You have now allowed yourself to change the properties of the contents of those folders, which leads us to the next all-important step.
Open myDVDedit. Go to File and open the projectname TS Files folder. By all means stare at it shock and awe, but don’t bother finding out what it can do, except for the following:
Top left you fill see a list of files. Lower centre you have a large window. On the vertical menu to the left of that, click te middle one (VTS or VMG).
In the window at the top left, ignore ‘First Play’ (if there was anything to correct in that, myDVDedit will have done so and told you).
Click on VMG Menu en (English). Now the whole thing springs to life.
Set Coding Mode to MPEG-2 (if it isn’t already)
Set Standard to PAL (or NTSC if that is what you want)
Set Aspect to 16:9 (not any of the other options)
Now save the file.
Click on VTS Menu 1 en (English) and repeat as above.
Click on VTS Menu 2 and repeat as above.
You have now permanently ‘fixed’ the entire contents of the TS folder (the disk image) in 16:9 aspect. Close myDVDedit – you won’t need it again until the next project!
If you have Toast 7 Titanium, open it. ‘Select DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS’. Choose Select from the main Toast window and select your projectname-TS Files folder. You are now ready to burn! You can set the burn speed (2x recommended) before the burn commences. Allow Toast to verify the burn before you eject the DVD-R disk.
If you don’t have Toast 7, then I assume you can burn the projectname-TS Files folder (disk image) via Disk Utility. I say ‘assume’ only because I have never tried it that way.
Either way, you now have a DVD which will play as 16:9 widescreen on any TV set, even the old ones where you can’t ask it to letter-box.

FLVPlayback Not Opening MP4 Videos In AIR 3.3

I have created a custom video player using the FLVPlayback component in Flash CS6 and published it as an swc file. Using the custom video player in Flash works fine, as it will load and play mp4 videos. In my AIR desktop applocation, when I use the custom video player, it will play flv & f4v files fine, but it will not play mp4 videos. When I debugg it in Flash Builder and try to play an mp4 video, I get this error:

I have double checked my video file paths and everything, and they are correct. So what else could be causing this?

I've done some more debugging in Flash Builder, and if the source of the FLVPlayback is set without calling the play method, I'm getting this error now:
TypeError: Error #1090: XML parser failure: element is malformed.

If I look at the value of URLLoader in the debugger, it is all a bunch garbled symbols and text, which implicates to me that the FLVPlayback component is somehow mistaking my video path for a xml path. What would cause it to think I am trying to load an xml?

Does anyone know why the movie clips are non animated when I export my flash animation into a video format ?

You must need a suitable codec for that like DivX codec, it will also import the nested movieclip animations. otherwise whatever you have on the main timeline is exported for avi. you will get the codec on the export settings for avi.
