Exported RTF has rduced font

We have a VS2008 app which exports CR2008 reports at runtime to RTF files. This all works fine except that on the on development machine and deploymnet machines the RTF files have a reduced font size of 9.5pt when the reports are 10pt?
This all ran perfectly in CR10 VS2005?
Thanks Geoff

Doesn't it seem odd to you that out of all the CR2008 users and I suspect ther are more than just you and I, no other user has mentioned this problem which you can reproduce in two minutes?
- no. and I've tested this down to version 10 and the issue is also there. as far as I can tell, it has never been reported before
Is there some way we can use the tracking number you have provided?
- visit the downloads page here:
https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
and monitor it for Fix Packs and Service Packs.
As for; "I guess in the meantime we will have to adopt the Crystal approach to customer service....." and the rest of the note.
- while I understand your frustration, I do not appreciate you jumping all over me like that. Not fair. This is only a user forum. I did not have to jump in and try to help out. I did not have to spend time trying to reproduce the issue. I did not have to spend time reporting the issue to QA. I do not have to chase QA for a fix from here on in. There is absolutely no compelling reason for me to try to help, other than that I do want to help. Anyhow, thnx for the feedback.
Have a great day,

  • PDF export - problem with embedded font

    Dear all,
    I refer to a problem which was already discussed [here|Export to PDF wrong font;. I was asked to start a new thread and provide further information. Here we are...
    The issue is nearly the same:
    - We have a solution which both has a WinForms and an .aspx UI.
    - We have a report, used in both solutions.
    - The WinForms solution uses the Crystal Viewer to preview and print and export and so on.
    - The web solution creates a PDF file and prompts to open or save. In this PDF, the font is substituted with Arial. This is actually the concrete problem.
    1) Version of CR
    on MY machine (MAYBE different on production environment, I have to check this):
    Crystal Reports 10 (10.0.0.53327)
    Crystal Reports Basic Runtime forVisual Studio 2008 (10.5.0.0)
    Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 (64-bit) (13.0.0.99)
    Crystal Reports , version for Visual Studio 2010 (13.0.0.99)
    2) CR Service Packs installed
    Nope.
    3) web / win app?
    Both, see description above.
    4) Is this happening on dev or deployed system?
    On deployed system. It ONLY affects the web solution on the server, which is a Win7 64bit. My developement machine also is a Win7 64bit, it works on this device. On a colleagues machine (WinXP) it works, too.
    5) What is the actual font?
    The Font was exclusively developed for the customer by a designer, but it is fully embeddable (I already checked this).
    6) Link to a screen shot that shows the issue
    I do not know whether this really helps to NOT see a font replaced by Arial...
    I hope you can help me. If the description is a little confusing, please ask, I will try to explain better, promised. Thank you, have a nice weekend!
    Greetings,
    Jens

    Hi Don,
    thank you very much for your reply!
    The font is True Type, embedding allows preview/print.
    What exactly does "Then make sure the WEB Servers have access to the font." mean? It is installed on the machine. I'm not really familiar with that server config stuff, as it is usually not my job...
    Do we have to install the update (it is called support pack 2, right?) on the developement AND the deployment machine? Or only on the developement environment?
    Best regards,
    Jens

  • Export to PDF wrong font

    I have a web site that creates 2 reports using the Garamond font. One is size 12, the other is size 14.
    When I export on my development machine, the PDF has the correct fonts in it (embedded subset), however, when I move onto my QA machine, one of the Exported PDFs has Arial, and the other has TNR. I checked, and the fonts are installed on the server.
    Any suggestions?

    Try with installing acrobat on server.
    We need to do  comparison of the dlls on both machines where it is working fine with where we are having issue download the modules utility from here:
    [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip]
    Run your app. Leave the issue on the screen and start modules. Go to the File menu and select New List -> memory modules. Save this file as client.mdl. Repeat the above on your dev computer, save the file as dev. Then compare the two mdls. You can do this manually, or modules has a compare feature under the Module menu.

    XP Pro Windowsw/Fonts has a font.  It is listed as available in MS Word.  It is not listed as available in Adobe Illustrator CS6.  How do I fix this?  Thanks.

    BobbyH5280.  Very helpful answer!  I am XP for the next week on CS6.  I did find 3 items that helped.  The fonts are in AI, but are listed on the bottom of the list.  Also in Edit/Preferences/Type, checking "Show Font Names in English" makes the font list easier to read (doesn't appear to change the sort order though), and (with your suggestion) checking "Sow Asian Options" might do something positive.  Thanks to all of you who sent in tips.

  • Exporting to PDf reduces font size of one item only

    I am using VS 2010 with the latest CR release. Within my crystal report I have a barcode (using IDAutomationHC39M) with set font size of 10. When I click on the "Export" button and choose PDF, all of the text stays the same except for the barcode which gets reduces to a font size of like 3 or 4 (its really tiny).
    I can print it using Adobe PDF and the Barcode will stay the same font size of 10, but I want to avoid that if possible.  What do I have to do to make the barcode export with the correct font size?

  • Export-RTF is not working in CS3

    Dear Guys,
    I'm new to this field.
    With reference of InDesign CS3 scripting guides i exported TXT output from an InDesing Document.
    But i cannot export RTF Output.
    Can anyone help me on this?
    Thanks
    SaRaVaNaN.N

    I remade ExportAllText.jsx script a little (from InDesign CS3 guide scripts package).
    Now it exports all stories into a single rtf file: C:\Exported Text.rtf
    While running the script creates and deletes a temporary file: C:\Temporary File.txt
    if(app.documents.length != 0){
         if(app.documents.item(0).stories.length != 0){
              myExportAllText(app.documents.item(0).name);
    function myExportAllText(myDocumentName){
         var myStory;
         //File name for the exported text. Fill in a valid file path on your system.
         var myTempFile = new File("/c/Temporary File.txt");
         //If you want to add a separator line between stories, set myAddSeparator to true.
         var myAddSeparator = true;
         var myNewDocument = app.documents.add();
         var myDocument = app.documents.item(myDocumentName);
         var myTextFrame = myNewDocument.pages.item(0).textFrames.add({geometricBounds:myGetBounds(myNewDocument, myNewDocument.pages.item(0))});
         var myNewStory = myTextFrame.parentStory;
         for(myCounter = 0; myCounter < myDocument.stories.length; myCounter++){
              myStory = myDocument.stories.item(myCounter);
              //Export the story as tagged text.
              myStory.exportFile(ExportFormat.taggedText, myTempFile);
              //Import (place) the file at the end of the temporary story.
              myNewStory.insertionPoints.item(-1).place(myTempFile);
              //If the imported text did not end with a return, enter a return

  • Vista STILL getting "Export Controller has stopped working" problem

    Everyone knows about the "Export Controller has stopped working" problem. The error message displays, then half a minute later, you get a "Quicktime has stopped working" error message. I have Googled it numerous times and I have never found anything more than what I did the first time. As far as I'm aware there are still no fixes for this problem. I believe there has been about three Quicktime updates since the first release of Quicktime 7, when this problem arose, and none have made any difference. Reinstalling and uninstalling + redownloading doesn't work, and I am not prepared to downgrade to an older version of iTunes, or buy a Mac. If anyone has any possible fix for this, please post here. I wish Apple would do something about this.

    A permissions glitch I think, Marz, masquerading as the Export Controller thing we saw a reasonable amount of a few versions ago. (I just checked the wife's 64-bit Vista lappie, and the QuickTime Player Start menu shortcut should have a run as administrator in the right-click menus ... whether that's part of your permissions trouble or a seperate business isn't clear, I'm afraid.)
    The bulk of those "Export Controller" errors got fixed by an update to Apple Application Support, but I was involved in an epically long-running thread back then where we found that for a rare subset of them: (a) Run as administrator would launch the QuickTime Player without the message, and (b) in other admin user accounts on the same PC, the QuickTime Player could be launched normally without the message.
    Since then I've seen a few other similar user-account-specific issues (with different error messages) where the same run-as-administrator trick gets you past the troubles. The precise error message seems to depend on which file/folder/key your user account loses a permission on.
    Finding the dodgy permission can be a pain ... I don't have a reliable technique for that. But one workaround you might want to try is using the QuickTimePlayer.exe compatibility tab to set the Player to always run as administrator. (Unfortunately, it's usually a bit more reliable a workaround on 7 than it is on Vista.)
    Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Track down the QuickTimePlayer.exe file again, right-click and select "Properties". In the Compatibility tab, select "Run as administrator" and click OK.
    Try launching the Player again ... does it launch without the Export Controller error? Or do you instead get one of the error messages described in the following document?

    Hi,
    Ive got the same problem with Quicktime 7.5.5 on my PC but im not using itunes. It only happens when I open the first instance of Quicktime then it pauses for a while before launching. Every other instance opens normally, but if I close them all and open a new instance, it happens again.
    Maybe no biggy cause it eventually opens anyway it doesnt bother me so much but it still pretty frustrating.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime. My system has also crashed a couple of times since this error has occurred.

    It's not something that's natively done with Indesign.

    I installed some new fonts on my mac and now Google chrome has weird fonts (assumably apart of the new ones I installed) replacing the standard Times and other fonts on some occassions. I took some screen shots to demonstrate this:
    Those are the two weird fonts. I'm not sure what they actually are called. I went into chrome and switched all of the font options to Times but it didn't change anything.
    Please help because this is really quite annoying.
