Exported video comes out black...

Hi–
So I've been working on a sequence that involves a combination of live action and animation, where the animation was brought in as a PNG sequence.
In the timeline view, everything is 100% fine, but when I export the video the animated portions come out fine and the live action footage comes out black (with the occasional green scan lines).
Any idea why this might be and how to fix it?

  • Exporting video comes out square?

I've been making some pretty basic scratch footage with my Canon PowerShot SD-850 IS's video mode (30px, 640x480). My timeline is set to DV-NTSC. When I export from FCE as a quicktime movie, however, my video is squashed into a completely square resolution (I'm assuming 480x480.) Any idea why this is happening? (I've tried messing with the export settings in quicktime conversion, and the same issue keeps happening.)

Hi, wish I had the answer, but I am having similar problems. I have mixed source files in my time line (960x540 and 720x524) and although this worked for the first movie I made, it now squishes the width when I export. I think I am hoping for similar information -- how to manage this so no squishing takes place.

Are you running the 9.0.1 Update of the program and on what computer operating system is it running?
Is your video card/graphics card driver up to date according to the manufacturer of the card?
Is your computer optimized, including maintenance of pile ups of preview files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
What are your project settings and what are the properties of your source media? When you say that "used to be able to export...." is that on the same computer, same brand/model/settings for the camera recording the video now in use, same Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
Where player are you using for the playback of these exports?
Please give us more details on the size of the projects (then and now) as well as details of the customized export settings in your Share/Computer/ route. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is only a 32 bit application running in 32 bit or 64 bit system. Not sure if computer resources might be taxed more so now than before.

  • Photo comes out black when I import from Iphoto to Imovie..

Im trying to make a video from Imovie.
but whenever I drag a photo from Iphoto to the project in Imovie, it comes out black when I play it..

  • Rendered video comes out blue

I seem to be having an issue with video rendered from within Premier (Pro CS5) where the video comes out in blue. By rendered within Premier I mean either rendering previews (hitting "Enter" while in the timeline), or by choosing the "Export" button rather and "Queue" in the export dialog.
Still images render normally colored, it's only the video clips in the timeline that render blue.
Everything works fine when queuing files for rendering in the Media Encoder, it's only when I render from within Premier that I get the blue video.
Anyone else see this kind of behavior?
    TIA

Interesting findings. I would definitely file a Bug Report on this. This ARTICLE will give you some tips and the link.
This reminds me of a Bug in PrElements, at about PrE 7, or 8. When a Cross-Dissolve was added, there was a white "flash" just at the junction of the two Clips. This could be eliminated by changing the Opacity of the Clips to 99.0%. IIRC, this Bug was fixed by PrE 9, but maybe it's too early to tell.
Good luck, and thank you for reporting. With adequate documentation, Adobe should be able to reproduce the issue in the lab, and get to a fix.

  • Videos Come Out Small with Black Space Around-Nikon coolpix L820

Everytime I export a video from premiere pro it comes out small with black space around the edges-- like this: Above All Odds, Bobby Maze: Episode 1 - YouTube
How would you suggest I fix this within the settings and how I export it?

    Hi,
What is the Frame size of the Video?
In the Project Bin, right click on the File and create a New Sequence from Clip.
Export the File in the same Frame size as you video.
    Thank You

  • Final Cut Studio 3 installed - and in FCP and Motion, video comes out white

My system meets all the requirements, I've got QT 7.6.4 (and it is pro registered). I did a fresh install of FCS3. When I load anything into an FCP project, the audio plays but video just comes out white (with the exception of an mpg I tried bringing in that did show properly). Also, in Motion, when I load a template, it shows drop zones but all of the graphics are not visible, even when going into "layers".

The video is QT clips and FCP movie (QT exports) from previous work in older versions. It does play fine in QT, so that's not the problem. I also checked and indeed RGB is selected, so it's no an alpha problem.
When I import an mpg, it shows fine in the Viewer. When I import a jpg picture into a new project, it shows as a multicoloured rough image. Video clips just show as white. If I drag that jpg down to the timeline, it shows as White in the Canvas.

  • HT201471 Does anyone know if video comes out of the headphone jack like the Itouch does on a Ipad3?

I was wondering if the video out put comes out of the headphone jack on a Ipad3 like it does on a Itouch?

No. Video will need to be shared via Home Sharing, Airplay or using an AV adapter.

  • Why can't I open PDF files on my iMac. I installed Adobe Reader and accepted the end user license, as instructed then quit the application and relaunched it and I still can't view the PDF document. The screen comes out black. Please advice. Thanks

Why can I view PDF files from the Web on my iMac even after I installed Adobe Reader and accepted the end user license agreement.I then quit the application relaunched it, as instructed snd still the PDF document comes out blank or black. Please advice. Thanks

Are you saying that Adobe Reader or Preview can't read PDF file that you download? Or, are you saying that you can't display PDF files in your Safari broweer? If the latter, then delete any AdobePDFViewer plugins you find in /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and restart. That should allow Safari to display PDFs in its window. BTW, that's the worst place to view them. Better to download them and use Adobe Reader or Preview.

  • Printing faxes come out black

I began using the Fax utility in 10.4.3 last week. The faxes are received without problem and stored as pdf files in a folder. When I open to read they open in adobe and look fine. When I print they come out with white text on a black background. Other pdfs not created by the fax print normally. Have tried various printers with same results. Any thoughts?

I am in the same boat - using a brand new Konica Minolta C450 Biz-Hub Expensive as can be printer with built-in Fiery. Same output, a black page from PDF'ed faxes. They even look good from the print dialog box in "Preview" mode. Then it prints black, with what appears to be a row of black thumbnails of the same page across the bottom.
The same fax PDF will print on my old HP 4050N, however, without any problems. I suspect that there is an issue between the creation specs used by Apple and the requirements on the Fiery. Maybe a similar issue for you as well.
Just throwing in my two cents to see if anyone may reply to this problem.

  • IWeb page printed from iWeb site comes out BLACK on some browsers

I made and run a website for a local art group. iWeb works well for this purpose. I publish the site to our domain. The main site is for the public and a second site, password protected and reached through the main site, is for members.
I've put the entry form for our biggest annual exhibition on the website, intending that members can print it from there (most have hard copies as well). Printing works perfectly from Safari. But many members have PCs (grrr) and use things like Firefox and IE.
Firefox prints the iWeb pages totally BLACK. IE prints okay on some computers and not on others. A clue is that, if you look fast as you open an iWeb page in IE, you see all the layout components in light blue; it immediately disappears. But that is the part that prints out black.
What on earth is causing this and HOW can it be prevented?? I have used NO background color on my pages.
    Thanx,
    Margot

  • I can not watch YouTube safari. The video came out black ,but it has sound

I can not watch YouTube on safari. It came out black screen , but it had sound.

Does it work on the YouTube app ?  Other people have been posting the same issue with YouTube over the past few days - see if the following help.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Half of film comes out black during export

I'm hoping someone here can help with an issue II'm experiencing when exporting my film.
The export seems to work fine, but when I open the file only the the first half of the film shows, and the second half is just showing a black screen (but the audio is exported).
Does anyone know what the issue could be? I've tried exporting as .h264 and also Prores422, and the issue is the same on both.
I can see and edit the film fine in the timeline, so can't identify what is causing an issue when I export.
    Any help most appreciated.
    thanks

    Thanks for the responses guys.
I've attached a couple of screenshots so you can see what my timeline looks like, and also my export settings. It doesn't appear to be dimmed anywhere.
    Appreciate hearing your thoughts.
    thanks

  • How do I export video without a black border?

    Hi everybody,
Hope there are a few altruistic users of Motion out there who can put me on the right track!
I have just bought Motion 5 - I have used Motion in the past and videos exported perfectly,  with no issues, but now even if I create a custom preset which is simply 1920 x 1080 and 25fps the resulting video has a thick black border and doesn't fill the screen - I'm trying to create backgrounds for titles and need the resotution to match HD video footage. At the moment i have a small area of vidieo in a black space.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
    Thanks!
    John

Sounds like you need to scale up the video you have. It's not a border. It's just the background; and your video isn't filling the frame.
Click in the viewer window and hit Shift-Z, to make sure you're seeing the whole canvas frame. Then it should be evident whether your video is filling the frame or not.
