Exporter un format swf à partir d'indesign

Bonjour,

  • Export Book as SWF - formatting (single page on screen at start)

    Was this book created in InDesign? http://www.qub.ac.uk/edu/Summer%2010%20Newsletter/
    I am currently working on an annual report and when finished want to save it in various formats, one being export to SWF with page turns. I successfully tested this earlier. The cover and subsequent pages of the report are all A4 size, however when exported as SWF it shows on the screen in my browser as landscape with a white A4 page next to the cover (to the left) and at the end next to the back cover (to the right). Why is this?
    Is there any way of exporting it so that as per the link above it starts of as a single page of just the cover and then goes into side by side pages when you turn the cover over and start reading?
    Also, different to saving an INDD as a print quality pdf, when I export to SWF the quality seems reduced, especially with the images (I used original tiff images as it will also be printed and saved as press quality pdf). Is there any way of keeping it as sharp as if it were being saved as press quality pdf?
    Finally, like the link above, can we add sound in InDesign to the swf page turns?

    That example you linked has most certainly been done from PDF file by using some commercial service which converts PDF file to digital magazine. You can do similar publications from InDesign CS4 or CS5 too. Check out http://www.prepress.fi/eDocker_eng ....
    If you want to get rid of that white area next to cover/backcover, simply draw a rectangle that overlaps a little with cover/backcover page, and color it gray. Just make sure it´s little bit bigger than your page size. InDesign exports it along SWF and if you use exactly same grey that has been used in background of html, nobody can see that empty area any more... here´s a sample: http://www.prepress.fi/e_newsS10
    Color values for that grey box are (in CS5) R153 G153 B153 (see images)
    If you have InDesign CS5 in use, you can add sound files to you indd. I have never used a page turn sound, but in theory it should work if you put a sound effect to every page and make it play automatically when page is opened... is it fast enough or is there some lag caused by loading..? I don´t know but if you have a sound file in right format, it´s easy to test.... and remember to test it also from server, not just locally...

  • Indesign Loses Text Gradient After Export To PDF SWF

    I have some Indesign files from a client and everytime I export from indesign to pdf and then convert to a swf, it removes the text gradient and adds black instead. Images attached for reference.
    <---PDF
    <---SWF
    I've tried numerous export options. Is there something in particular that I'm supposed to be flattening?
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi DesPro_7, Thank you! Your answer was very helpful, and it seems to solve one of my problems, which is the same as what Franklinsdictionary describes.
    I have a design using gradients in text, including a gradient effect on a rule below, used as a banner behind my text. I'm losing the gradient when the PDF is converted to SWF, and while we're working on a way to export to SWF directly from InDesign, our current workflow is cropping and optimizing a printer PDF to convert to SWF.
    Before InDesign CS5, we had little trouble with transparencies, but this became an issue on our projects using CS5 or above.
    Part of the optimizing process includes flattening transparencies, but text with gradients doesn't seem to flatten, nor do my banners created using rule below behind the text.
    Any idea why this seems to be an issue with text? Any insight might help!

  • Would there be any reason for a hotspot created in InDesign to change size when exported as a SWF?

    Hello
    I've got a 280-page InDesign (CS5) document with invisible buttons/ hotspots throughout which I want to export as a SWF.
    Once exported, the buttons/ hotspots appear to be sized/ positioned correctly on the first dozen or so pages. Afterwards, the hotspots are consistently sized and positioned incorrectly over the buttons; so that if you were to try and click on the button, you wouldn't actually be clicking on the hotspot at all.
    Things I've tried so far:
    Exporting the pages in smaller batches, rather than as a single 280-page file
    Export the SWF at different sizes
    Checking that the hotspost don't have any blank areas inside their boxes (in the same way you can move an image inside a picture box and have blank areas)
    I've hit a wall with this – any help/ suggestions you're able to offer would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.

    Thanks, but I have searched here but have not found or heard a direct answer to my question as stated above...

  • Export flash in swf format?

  • After installing iTunes, Flash no longer exports .MOV format...

    Hi -
    I have been using Flash 8 to do animated titling for my podcasts.
    But after installing iTunes 7, Flash 8 will no longer export .MOV format. It tells me a Quicktime compenent cannot be found.
    Also, QuickTime Pro will not actually play Flash .SWF files. Not sure if this worked before, I never tried it. But it seems to be a QuickTime feature that doesn't work on my machine.
    Flash 8
    iTunes 7.0.0.70
    QuickTime Pro 7.1.3
    Any suggestiones or explanations?
    I really need to export my Flash animations to .MOV format. It's part of my work scheme. Workarounds cause loss of quality.
    Thanks,
    Dave Ferreira
    ([email protected])

    Recent security issues has had QuickTime 7.1.3 Player set Flash (inside .mov files) to "disabled".
    Any user can re-enable Flash inside .mov files by checking a box in the QuickTime Control Panel (PC) or System Preferences (Mac).
    QuickTime Player uses a much older version of Flash and only allows those "published" as version 5, or lower, be used.
    The security issues are real. The solution for those of us that use Flash (.swf) inside our QuickTime content is more complex.
    If a solution isn't reached between Apple and Adobe about a more modern use of Flash inside QuickTime files I plan on adding a text description (on my Web pages) for the steps to re-enable Flash functionality in my QuickTime files that use Flash.

  • Video and .swf embedded in InDesign CS5

    Hello,
    I am planning on an interactive publication to be exported either as PDF or as .swf (which I plan to import into Flash Projector and group it into an .app and .exe for single-file download).
    In the InDesign CS5 file I need to include .swf files (exported from Flash Catalyst) and video (flv or f4v format, encoded with Adobe Media Encoder), as well as various animations made with the Interactive panel tools.
    In a previous attempt (exported as PDF), I could not play video and sometimes the .swf were not exported correctly but as an icon which would not play.
    So, my questions are:
    - Does exporting as .swf embed video and .swf to the final file?
    I don't mind about the .swf size, but I want the final file to play correctly.
    - Does the final .app or .exe, made by Flash Projector, contain the video files?
    I would expect a single file with everything included, hence the use of Projector. If you have another idea, please share
    - Does exporting as Interactive PDF embed video and .swf to the final file?
    Again, file size is not of importance, playability is.
    - Which file should I use if I plan to include animations, video and other .swf files?
    I can work around the iPDF inability to display animations, I'm mostly concerned about displaying videos and .swf animations
    Thanks,
    Konstantinos

    I'll answer as an InDesign user who doesn't work with Flash Professional or Flash Projector.
    There are two Flash workflows which are possible—but they don't work the same, and you can't change one into the other. You can export as a SWF file to go directly to a browser. This option does NOT embed videos. It stores them in a separate folder called "[filename]_Resources". I don't know if this works with Flash Projector but I doubt it.
    The second workflow is to export as a FLA file into Flash Professional from which I expect you could create such a file. I believe you can include your video files when exporting to Flash Professional. There I assume you could embed them or not.
    As for exporting an Interactive PDF file in CS5, if you choose File > Export > Adobe PDF (Interactive), it exports as a PDF 1.7 (Extension Level 3) file which supports embedding videos, and it will do so without having to choose a setting. If you choose FLV or F4V files you can set their options for play in the Media panel. Keep in mind, however, that they will only play in Acrobat 9 Pro, Acrobat X Pro, or Adobe Reader 9 and X, not earlier versions.
    You can include SWF files in a PDF file and these can include animations. Make sure you upgrade InDesign to the latest version, because they've had to patch some bugs in how the SWF files preview.

  • Export window format changed, don't know why

    You know aperture is a love/hate relationship. What do I love? I became an advanced user fast, it's intuitive, but the bugs are just maddening and apple has never responded even once to my countless bug and crash reports. Apple has strayed so far from computing as it's central focus... the impression I get is they just don't care about my bug problems or if I stay an apple customer after owning that little baby Duo laptop, PowerPC, ibook and now MacBook Pro. I think that's sad. Just keep pushing the phones and ipods- Steve, and don't worry about me. I'll eventually just go away. That said, the format of the export window changed to first line: export preset, 2nd line: Subfolder Format, 3rd: "Grayed out" customer subfolder name, 4th: Name Format, 5th: Custom Name, 6th: File Name Example. To my knowledge, this new export window format changed without any action on my part. I don't like it because I can no longer just export it to the desk top without it being automatically put in a folder. The old export window format just had an option for tiff, jpg, psd and a name to type in and where it was heading. How do you get back this old export window format? This is baffling like the disappearing library in the trial version every time you shut down and restarted.

    Addressing your final remarks, I don’t see any problem. First: have your current Preset -> Image Export set to what you want in terms of JPEG or PSD etc. Second select the image(s) you want to Export. Select something like File -> Export -> Versions (or whatever you want). The Export panel defaults to the Desktop, and the images will be placed there - no folder is required.
    Maybe I’ve missed your point, but I don’t see any problem.

  • Illustrator CS6 - Export Slices to SWF or SVG - not possible anymore?!?

    Hi all,
    I just learned that it's not possible anymore to export slices to swf or svg via the save for web dialog:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/ivandavid/illustrator_cs6_save_for_web/
    Apart from the fact that I believe that this is a pretty strange decision to remove an existing feature…
    Does anyone know a workaround for that (apart from installing cs5.5...)?
    I need to somehow be able to export my slices to swf.
    As far as I know, the only option to export slices is via the save for web dialog, but this dialog only offers pixel graphic formats, so now way to use fireworks or what ever to convert them to vector swfs…
    What a bummer…
    Thanks!

    Semi-ignore my previous answer - figured out another work around that involves converting your slices to artboards.
    After you have made all of your slices, use the Slice Selection Tool to select your first slice. Go to Object > Artboards > Convert to Artboards. This should create a new artboard out of that slice. Do this for all of your slices.
    After creating new artboards from your slices, go to File > Export... and select Flash (swf) from the dropdown menu. Make sure you check the "Use Artboards" option underneath the format menu.
    This process should result in individual swf files of each of your slices, along with your original image. Hope this helps!

  • Open a URL link in the same window as SWF file in indesign CS5

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a SWF file using indesign CS5.  I have created buttons and placed in URL links but they always open another window.  I would like to know if there is a way to have the URL open in the same window that the SWF file has been created.  I tried, putting "_self" to target it in the URL bar, but nothing works.
    Thanks in advance
    TK

    Okay, I found the code but I can't get it to work locally.  If you have a web server maybe you can upload the files (swf and html) after you Publish them:
    import flash.net.URLRequest;
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest ("http://www.google.com");
    testlink.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickText);
    function clickText(myevent:MouseEvent):void {
    navigateToURL(myURL, "_self");
    you have to have on the stage a link element called "testlink" (see the code above) which would be a Movie Clip with the label testlink.  It can be anything from InDesign:  a button, a rectangle, a circle, a graphic, you get the idea.  Just select that object in Flash and label it testlink or anything you choose but if you change the name from testlink also change the name in the code snippet where the line "addEventListener" is.

  • How do I add a zoom function to a digital magazine (.swf file) in InDesign CS6?

    Hi,
    Im creating an interactive digital magazine for our company which will go on the iPad, but also online for computers.
    The iPad (.folio) has zoom functions, but on screen (.swf) the magazine is very static and peaple can't zoom and scroll (the zooming buttons function in InDesign doesn't work here).
    So, how do I add a zoom function to a digital magazine (.swf file) in InDesign CS6?
    (I read older posts regarding this problem in CS5... It's not possible for me to purchase an additional product for that. I have Flash, if there is a tutorial on how to do it, that'd be helpful too)
    Thanks for your help!
    Best regards!

    Although the help implies this should work, and I've seen it written in a book to do things this way, it's not how I do things:
    var content_req1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("text/hales.txt");
    var content_ldr:URLLoader = new URLLoader(content_req1);
    content_ldr.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete1);
    Instead, try:
    var content_req1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("text/hales.txt");
    var content_ldr:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    content_ldr.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete1);
    content_ldr1.load(content_req1);

  • Edit copy in a CS6 file, but lock formatting of parts of the file

    I have a client that needs to be able to edit some copy in a file that I've created in adobe Illustrator CS6, but I want to be able to lock the formatting of parts of the file. I don't want them to use CS6.Suggestions?

    Can't do. At best you could offer them a hacky solution liek creating a PDF form with an editable text field, but it may end up looking awful.

    Apple Mail uses Apple's own PDF viewer, and it's ... well, let's be friendly and say not really up to par. Don't use it for anything else than ascertaining there is *something* in your mail. Then use the free Adobe Reader to view your PDF.

  • Why do I get white lines surrounding transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Vers

    Why do I get white lines surrounding PSD or Tiff transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Version 9.2?
    I recently upgraded creative suite - now I am having issues with white lines surrounding any tiffs or PSDs when exporting for print.
    I initially thought it was an acrobat viewer problem, but it seems to be effecting print. Please let me know if anyone knows the answer to this problem. thanks!

    PDF settings? Flattener settings? Overprint and trapping settings? You need to be much more specific. Eitehr way, ask in the ID forum.

  • Exporting to flash/swf, losing drop shadow?

    Hi guys, when I add drop shadow to 2d text in AE it looks fine in the RAM preview, but when I export to a SWF object its gone.  I tried both the effect and layer style versions of drop shadow.. not really sure what the difference is anyways.  Any ideas?  Googled a bunch and couldn't find an answer.

    We usually need to ask for clarification: how do you know the drop shadow really isn't there? If you're looking at a sample of the clip over black, it might be invisible. But Rick's usually got these things nailed. Drop shaodws from text require AE to create rasterized frames and that will change the processing of the output. As Rick says, it will be much larger because it will be a pixel-based movie of images rather than instructions for vectors.
