ExporterQuicktimehost.prm - Loading Hangup

I have searched high and low on the internet, through Adobe's help system (which is not even remotely helpful), and waited for literally HOURS on hold with "tech support", (which again, is not even remotely supporting), for this issue with the start up of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.
I was having absolutely no problems with this whatsoever until out of nowhere, it stopped loading properly.  It takes at least five minutes to load and I have the same problem with After Effects --- in Premiere, it freezes at "'loading exporterquicktimehost.prm" and in After Effects it freezes at "Initializing MediaCore".
I have seen hundreds of posts all over the internet from many others who have had this issue --- I have tried restarting, I have tried turning off my firewall, and everything else I know to do but STILL this issue has not even been remotely addressed.
Can someone kindly help out?  This is ridiculously agitating when $1,600 worth of software all of a sudden stops working and Adobe seems to not even have the staff to address issues when they come up.
There are people on other posts on here who have said that their issue was solved by messing with firewall settings but again, I have tried that and it did not do anything.
I have tried renaming the files ExporterQuicktimehost.prm as well as ImporterQuicktime.prm and the program loads fine --- so it seems like something is wrong with the Quicktime/Adobe integration but again, this is not something that has been a problem in the past.

Go to Windows Task Manager,End process "Adobe QT32 Server.exe" then restart Premiere. Works for me.
The above worked for me perfectly and a couple others in this thread.

  • Startup hangs on "Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm"

A bit of Background - It's been a week now since I got my Windows 7 (64 bit) system back after being attacked by the "Windows 7 Repair" Malware (Let in by the free Windows 7 Antivirus programs, gone back to using Norton which got rid of the Malware)
But my system is still not working right. In particular Adobe CS5 Premiere Pro 5.0.3 can't get past the the loading screen and just shows "Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm" and sticks there for ever. Now I've read this thread on here and followed the advice on http://www.plee.me/blog/tag/exporterquicktimehost-prm/and allowed Premiere Pro, Adobe QT32 Server.exe and dynamiclinkmanager.exe access via my Firewall programme which is the standard Windows 7 program.
But Premiere Pro still it does not work. I even reset the Firewall so that all programs would need to ask permission again for access and even that did not help. I've turned off the firewall and Norton and that failed to help too, installed latest QuickTime 7.6.9 and no help either. But when I created a new user profile then Premiere Pro loaded just fine!
Premiere has run fine on my system for 10 months, it is only since I had to restore Windows back 2 days to a previous System Restore point that this has happened. It would be a lot of work to transfer all my files and software over to a new User Profile and so I wondered if anyone had got any other tricks to try to get Premiere to get past this permissions problem with QuickTime 7.6.9 as it obviously does work there is just some setting wrong in my old profile.

Quit, delete the preferences folder, and then restart.
The preferences folder is here: <drive>\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro\
Also, be sure to run as administrator. You can right-click the Adobe Premiere Pro program icon and choose to run the program as administrator in Windows 7.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 hangs on startup exporterquicktimehost.prm

Premiere was working fine for me and then last night I tried to open it but on startup it would hang up on loading exporterquicktimehost.prm. The same startup freeze happens with after effects when "initializing mediacore". I have searched and tried all the suggestions without any luck.
-I uninstalled and reinstalled both adobe CS5 suite, and quicktime
    -Tried older versions of quicktime
-moved the specific exporter and importer files which resulted in premiere loading but then crashing on a white screen.
-added rules to windows firewall (only firewall I have) and tried completely off
-deleted preferences from appdata folder and changed attributes to "not hidden"
nothing has worked except this morning I created a new windows user and premiere opened up and loaded fine, now this seems to obviouslly be something to do with user settings but I am not sure what.
I have searched and found other people have had this problem, but there are no definitive solution. Can anybody help solve this issue? Worst case scenario I will have to re adjust my documents and such to the newly created user and delete the old one, but it seems like it is narrowed down enough to figure it out.

    hi.. DigitalRicky,
did you ever come to a solution for this?
I believe I am having the same or simular problem.
im on a mac .. 10.5.8 with enought disk spack.. about 50gb
    have downloaded update for primiere.
    two things are happening
1.freezes/stalls/doesn't respond on opening program.. I have to force quit it or on some occasions it just quits itself. this occurs on new and exsisiting projects.
    2.  on 3 occasions after i had fiddled around with deleting preferences, i have been able to edit .. however no unable to add footage as the second i trie to add footage to timeline it stalls/freezes/does not respond.  then i have a world of hurt and can't re open.. back to problem 1.
what trouble shooting i have done..
    1. uninstall/reinstall
    2. run no other software etc.
    3. Documents>Adobe>AdobeProductName (like Premiere Pro)  Inside of this, there is a folder with a number (usually 4.0 for CS4).  Take that to the trash and restart your application. -> this is where i can start old project but not a new one..
    4. run disk utility on comp
    5. re start comp etc
im not to sure on what else i can do ..
I would GREATLY appreciate any help.
    thanks heaps!

  • Why does Premiere CC 2014.2 freeze while loading at Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm?

I can not get Premiere to load.  Is there a solution available?

I posted this question because Adobe support had control of my computer for the past three days trying to solve this issue, without success.  The last support helper Rameez, had me delete QuickTime and re install which solved the problem.  Maybe this post can help someone else as well.

  • Media Encoder Loading Hangup.

    Good evening,
This is something that's confused me for a whiles so I thought to ask.
I have CS4 and Media Encoder installed (but I use CS3 as it works) and when I make a video, any video with any code / compression and send it to the media encoder it I click start and then it sits there with the message LOADING in the bottom status bar. It doesn't crash but it just sits there loading what can only be a small file (I quickly tried with two short 30sec clips together as well as a slew of other times).
I have no idea why it does this, how ever I do have an odd install. C dive is Windows only, D drive is for programs and H is My Documents with two extra junk drives (all on Windows 7 Home).
I did many moons ago try something involving shortcuts but that was long ago and I've forgotten since then,
So any ideas as to my problem / error at all?
    Thanks for any information.

    Welcome to the forum.
Just so that we're clear, you are sending Sequences from PrPro CS3 to AME CS4. Is that correct?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere Freeze on Load

    Hello All,
Just finished with and auto update for Acrobat and now Premiere Pro CS5 stop loading at "ImporterQuickTime.prm, any thoughts..
    Bill

I have the same problem. Tried the Alt idea. No luck. On the splash screen it just stops with the message "Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm". This happens every time. I guess I need to reinstall Premiere Pro unless there is another solution. Please advise.

  • CS5 Premiere, After Effects, and Encore hang on splash screen - Solution

I just installed Production Premium CS5 on a Windows 7 64 bit system. The install went without a hitch, but when I attempted to start Premiere, After Effects or Encore, they would all hang at some place with the splash screen showing. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Adobe and they never solved the problem. They had me uninstall iTunes and Quicktime, upgrade my nVidea driver and upgrade to a newer version of Quicktime. None of this made a difference and at that point I realized they were not going to fix my problem. The first woman was an idiot and the guy I spoke to next was a lot better, but no solution. Premiere was hanging when loading the Quicktime plug-ins.
Then I had an Aha! moment. I shut off User Account Control, rebooted and then everything worked. I could also get the programs to work with UAC on if I changed the shortcut to "Run as Administrator" but then there would be a UAC prompt. By the way, I was running as a user with full administrator privileges.
I am astounded that Adobe has never encountered this problem before and did not have an immediate solution. Once again, Adobe Tech Support has continued to provide pathetic tech support.
    Steve

The plug-ins that were involved in the hang on the splash screen were:
    ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm
    ImporterQuickTime.prm
The splash screen would hang for 5 minutes on each of these and then if PPro started it would only be a plain white window with the Menu Bar and then there would be no further response.

  • Conforming problem on file import

First things first: I'm working with an Asus P6XP58D-E motherboard, Intel I7 950, Nvidia Quadro FX 580, 8GB DDR3 memory and Windows 7 64bits, all with 1 month of use only.
    The first problem: It takes aproximately 5 to 7 minutes to load Premiere Pro CS5 with the splash screen stuck on "exporterquicktimehost.prm". Now, I've been reading a lot about this matter and seems like everyone says its firewall or antivirus problems regarding the relation between Premiere and Quick Time. So I followed every piece of advice that I got on it in order to allow adobe and quick time to freely use internet. Firewall exclusions, antivirus exclusions and also turned them off to try but nothing change. Nevertheless this issue being realy anoing, I could go with if it wasn't for the second problem;
The second problem: I shoot with a Nikon D300s DSLR camera at 24fps, 720 x 1280, and the sound format is 11.025hz 16bit. Now, I now Premiere has support for these formats altough when starting a new project it doesn't have an option that uses these video and sound formats together. All options for my video format use a 44.000hz or 48.000hz sound format. That makes premiere have to conform the files as I import them wich should not be a problem. But this is exactly the reason why I'm writing this post!!! As premiere starts conforming the first file, well, it never finishes! The software crashes and freezes making me have to open the "Task Manager" to be able to close it because it completely stops responding. And thats the big issue. Maybe I could convert the audio with soundbooth, I know, but premiere should be working perfectly and not giving such trouble.
So here is my cry for for help! Especialy for the second problem.
    Apreciate any help.

OK! At the top part (where it does not scroll) It says " Version 5.0.3 (005 (MC:218798)) " and At the very begining of the scrolling part of the screen it says "Adobe Premiere Pro v5.0, Scully".
But I have good news! I solved both problems with only 1 solution: both issues were being caused by the Quicktime I had and the Ace Mega Codec pack. I tried to open my Quicktime and it didn't start. No errors, no messages, nothing AT ALL, just double-click and nothing going on. I started searching for help in the internet and found this wonderfull tip in a discussion forum in the Apple site (can I say Apple here? well for now I'm saying it but please let me know if I can't) about this codec pack problem and then I remembered I read about how PPR comunicates with QT (thanks to you) so it hit me!
The thing is, te Ace Mega Codec Pack was not alowing Quicktime to work with Adobe softwares and caused Premier to take forever to initiate and freeze and crash when I imported any video file for the program wasn't able to conform the video files without Quicktime acces.
The solution couldn't be easier, simply erase the Ace Mega Codec Pack! Can you believe it!? So simple to do but so complicated to find out. Looking back now it sounds like a foolish obvious joke and makes me wanna laugh. Almost can't believe this gave me 4 days of trouble and bad sleep. Hahahahahahaa. Erasing the code pack made Quicktime function corectly and with that Premiere could finaly come to its swiftness and perfection. Just for the record, I unistalled Quicktime and Premiere, restarted my PC, reinstalled them both and restarted again and I use version 7.55.90.70 of Quicktime.
    So everything working fine now.
Thanks a lot for the good will to help, I realy apreciated it.

  • Premiere Elements not starting

    Hi
I purchased (and starting to get some serieus regrets) premiere elements 9.0 and running it on WIN7 x64
When I start it the welcome screen starts, when I chose New Project it tries to launch Premiere, but it stalls first for a long time at
the stage of  ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm it takes a really long time and then the welcome screen looks again like I never clicked anything.
If I now click again on New Project , the welcome screen disappears completely.
I read some stuff about GPU settings and all, but I never get to that stage. Since I bought PE9 one week ago I never got to stage of even seeing the damned program!!
I noticed that 2 processes are started
    Adobe premier elements.exe
    and
    Adobe premier elements 9.exe
They keep running, but there is no GUI
I updated the graphics drivers to the latest, I updated Quicktime to the latest, my WIN7 is fully up to date with the latest updates....

If you can get it working in diagnostic mode, try adding the various items back. Either do this one at a time or by halves.
Halves - say you have twenty items loading:
add back half (ten) and see if it still works.
If it does then the problem is in the half you removed.
If it doesn't then the problems is in the half you left starting.
If it does (2) then add back half (five) and see if it still works. Repeat the halving until you get to the last item - that should be the problem one.
If it doesn't (3) then take out another half (five) and see if it now works. Repeat the halving until you get to the last item - that should be the problem one.
    Cheers,
    Neale

  • AE CS5 stops @ 'Initializing Mediacore' Windows 7

I'm currently trying out the trial edition of After Effects CS5, and all was going well. I was learning how to do Typographys and other animations. Til just recently, AE wouldn't load. The Splash Screen would come up and it would reach 'Initializing Mediacore' and it would just stop and not respond.
Now I have done my research and tried countless different thing to make it work.
    I've tried:
    Reinstalling Quicktime.
    Downgrading Quicktime to 7.3
    Reinstalling AE CS5
    Restarting Computer
System Restore to when it was working
    Disabling Firewall and Norton Firewall
    Running as administrator
Using a different user account to trying running AE
Removing all the files in the mediacore folder
Removing all 3rd Party Codecs (Never had any)
The thing is, I did stop using AE for about a week and in that week I installed two big programs, avast! and ZoneAlarm Free Firewall, I have uninstalled both completely but still no luck.
Adobe Premier Pro too is not working and is getting stuck on 'Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm.
    Computer:
    Windows 7
    4.00 GB Ram
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz
    64-bit Operating System
How do I fix this annoying problem?
    Thank you.

Adobe Premier Pro too is not working and is getting stuck on 'Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm.
Pretty clear...?! I would assume your virus scanner/ firewall have done something weird to specific Quicktime components and they are permanently flagged or their permissions have been set in such a way that they cannot be accessed. Those tools may also have enabled DEP and ADSLR, which are not compatible with QT and iTunes. Similar could have happened with some recent Windows Updates or QT itself. In any case, I don't see an easy way to fix this. There is certainly something wrong, be it just some Registry key or on the file level. The only way to get to the bottom of this, short of a full W7 reinstall, is to use Sysinternals' Process Monitor, set it to filter on AE and monitor which files and reg keys it accesses. The only other thing might be some issues with QT's hardware acceleration and legacy CoDec compatibilty and that only takes a short trip to the QT system control panel...

  • No video playback after 20 minutes of editing with

    Hello,
I have problem with Premiere CS6, which is driving me insane. After around 20 minutes of editing, Premiere stops showing me any video content. I can still interact with the program, the only thing that doesn't work is viewing clips and interacting with them in the timeline. The only things I see are grey boxes.
After quitting Premiere I cannot immediatly restart it, because it stays forever at "Loading ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm". It is also notable that after quitting Premiere CS6 the application stays in the task manager und is not killable. I read that "Adobe QT32 Server.exe" (which is also still running and is not killable after quitting Premiere) might be the issue but I didn't find a way to fix the problem.
I am working on Windows 7 64-bit machine with DNxHD enocoded files in a mov-wrapper. I reinstalled Quicktime (newest version) but the problem remains.
    Any suggestions?

Unfortunatly it didn't help. Playback froze up on me again a minute ago. The DNxHD files I am using contain 6 audio tracks, which Premiere doesn't recognize (it only displays one track) and it also freezes up, when it's automatically creating peak files. Maybe the problem has something to do with that?

  • Premiere pro cc hangs on open

Suddenly PP 2014 will not start. It hangs up trying to load "ExporterQuicktimeHost.prm" I checked and this file is different than the QT exporter in the previous version. Do I need to re-install or is there an easier fix?

I was starting to uninstall for the second time when the uninstaller said that several Adobe processes were still running. I looked and there were several instances of 2 processes running. I stopped those and Premiere starts fine.@
